The Reuleaux RX2/3 box mod from Wismec is a device that largely repeats another creation of the company - Reuleaux RX200S. However, the Reuleaux RX2 / 3 has implemented a very interesting feature of working with either two or three removable batteries. This is implemented due to interchangeable covers that change the capacity of the battery compartment. It is because of this feature that the box mod was named so - Reuleaux RX2 / 3, that is, the choice between two or three batteries.

Like many devices from Wismec, the new mod was created under the supervision of JayBo, a well-known creator and designer of electronic cigarettes. Reuleaux RX2/3 is designed primarily for experienced vapers, as it has a large maximum vaping power and a full range of modern features, as well as large dimensions and weight. With three batteries installed, the mod “gives out” 200 watts of power, and with two - 150 watts.

Appearance

The design of the Reuleaux RX2/3 is taken from the Reuleaux RX200S, which is a favorite among vapers. The shape of the device resembles a rhombus with rounded corners, so the box mod fits well in the hand. Reuleaux RX2/3 dimensions vary depending on how many batteries are used. The height is 88.7 mm, the thickness is 40.2 mm, and the width is 50.1 mm for three batteries and 34.5 for two batteries. Thanks to this feature, the dual battery version becomes more compact, lighter and more convenient to use. However, for inconspicuous soaring, the mod will not work in any configuration.

The body of the mod is made of aluminum alloy and can be painted in one of six colors: black, white, gold, black-gray, black-red or mint-grey. The assembly of the device is excellent - nothing rattles or dangles, however, vapers note that the battery cover has become not so convenient, since it is now attached to a mechanical latch, not magnets.

Functionality

Variwatt

1 to 150W (2 batteries) and 1 to 200W (3 batteries). The step of change is 0.1 W, when the button is pressed, the rate of power change increases. In the variatta mode, the box mod works flawlessly.

Temperature control (TC)

100 to 315°C or 200 to 600°F. The step of change is 5 and 10 degrees, respectively. By default, steel, nickel and titanium windings are supported, you can also manually set three metals by setting the resistance coefficient for them (TCR mode). In TK mode, you can block the resistance or manually set the power.

Since the Reuleaux RX2/3 is based on the same proven board as the Reuleaux RX200S, the temperature control mode does not raise any complaints and works like clockwork.

Subom

Reuleaux RX2 / 3 supports resistance in the range of 0.05 - 1.5 ohms in TK mode and 0.1 - 3.5 ohms in variable watt mode.

Since the mod is very wide, any clearomizers and drips are perfect for it. For example, recently popular devices with a diameter of 25 mm.

Battery

Reuleaux RX2/3 is powered by two or three 18650 batteries. The mod requires batteries with a current output of 25 A. The connection of the batteries is serial, so you won’t be able to vape on one battery.

Batteries can be charged either in a separate charger or directly in the mod via a USB port. Reuleaux RX2/3 charges the batteries fairly evenly inside itself, although it does not have charge balancing. However, experienced vapers recommend using a separate charger for all mods with three batteries. The maximum charging current for Reuleaux RX2/3 is 1A.

The Reuleaux RX2/3 does not have a pastru function, so vaping while charging is not recommended. The battery compartment contacts are spring loaded. The lid is not mounted on magnets, but on a mechanical latch, which is why it fits snugly against the case.

The minimum battery voltage is 3.1 V.

Display

The Reuleaux RX2/3 has a large 0.96-inch OLED display. The information is displayed in a list format, so it is very visual and easy to understand. The screen shows battery life (as a percentage or an indicator of your choice), resistance, voltage, power, temperature, mode name and additional information to choose from: current strength, number of puffs made or total vaping time.

The display can be flipped or turned off, as well as enable the display of the logo, which will replace the main parameter for the mode. When changing the parameter, the numbers will be displayed, after a few seconds - the logo.

Upgradable firmware

Reuleaux RX2/3 can be updated by downloading the file from the manufacturer's official website. Updates are used to add new features and fix bugs. To update the firmware, you need to connect the mod to the computer via USB and run the file, after which the program will do everything on its own. When updating the firmware, you can also set your own logo for display on the screen.

The latest firmware (4.13) at the time of publication increases the maximum vaping power for two batteries up to 200 W, for three - up to 250 W, and also adds the coil preheating function.

Control

Reuleaux RX2/3 is controlled using the Fire, "+" and "-" buttons. The device is turned on and off by pressing Fire five times. Pressing this button three times will switch to the menu mode, in which you can select a line on the screen with the "-" button and interact with it with the "+" button. For example, if in the TC mode you select a line with resistance using the “-” button, then you can lock or unlock it with the “+” button.

To turn off the screen, you need to hold down Fire and "-". To lock the adjustment buttons, hold down the "+" and "-". Fire and "+" will open the menu to enable or disable the display of the logo.

When the device is turned off, the combination of "+" and "-" will allow you to flip the screen 180 °. If you hold down Fire and "+", then the TCR preset settings menu will open. Fire and "-" will show the exact battery voltage. Pressing Fire repeatedly (about 20 times) will display the version of the installed firmware.

Control

1. Turn on/off

Press the back cover lock button, the cover will open automatically. Aligning the marks on the back cover and on the battery compartment, install two 18650 batteries.

Quickly press the main button 5 times to turn on/off the device. The procedure is the same when using the 3 battery back cover.

Note

(1) When using two batteries, the maximum voltage will be 6V and the maximum power will be 150W. When using three batteries, the maximum voltage will be 9V, and the maximum power will be 200W. The maximum current strength is 50 A.

(2) Preset the power according to the installed evaporator.

(3) Do not use batteries with damaged insulation.

2. Stealth Mode

With the device turned on, simultaneously hold down the main button and the "Down" button to turn off / turn on the display. You can continue to use the device, and when you press the main button once, the display will show the current characteristics.

3. Lock adjustment buttons

With the device turned on, hold down the "Down" and "Up" keys at the same time. The main button is not blocked and the device can continue to be used.

4. Micro USB port

Used for charging and updating firmware. It is recommended to charge the batteries in an external charger.

5. Flip display

With the device turned off, hold down the "Up" and "Down" buttons for a few seconds until the image on the display flips 180 degrees. The reverse flip is done in a similar way. This feature will allow you to maintain the convenience of using the device, no matter which hand you prefer to hold it in.

Switching between VW/TC-Ni/TC-Ti/TC-SS/TCR modes

TCR mode(M1, M2, M3)

Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) mode, allows the user to adjust the TCR for the material used in the evaporator. In TCR mode, when the mode indicator blinks, press the Down button to enter the TCR submenu (M1, M2, M3). To switch modes (M1, M2, M3), use the "Up" button. Press the main button to confirm your selection.

Setting the TCR mode

With the device turned off, simultaneously hold down the main button and the “right” button for about 5 seconds to enter the TCR mode settings menu:

(1) Select item M1, M2 or M3 with control buttons;

Additional functions for temperature control mode

Temperature setting

In the thermal control modes, you can independently set the desired temperature of the evaporator coil within the range of 100 - 315 ° C or 200 - 600 ° F using the left and right control buttons.

Switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit

When adjusting the temperature, when the upper or lower limit is reached, the device automatically switches from Celsius to Fahrenheit, and vice versa.

Power regulation

While the power menu is blinking, use the adjustment buttons to change the power. Press the main button to confirm your selection.

Resistance lock

While the resistance menu is blinking, press the Up button to lock. (Note: This procedure is performed at room temperature.)

Installing a new evaporator

If you are installing a coil with a higher resistance than the previously installed coil, it may be necessary to "refresh" the coil's base resistance at room temperature.

IMPORTANT

If the resistance of the installed atomizer exceeds the previously determined value by at least 5%, the message “new coil right, same coil left” will appear on the display. Confirm your choice by pressing the corresponding key: "left" - if you use the same atomizer, or "right" - when changing the heating element.
The maximum allowable resistance in TC modes is 1.5 Ohm. If the resistance exceeds the allowable value, the device will automatically switch to VW mode.

Battery charge indication

While the battery menu is blinking, press the Up button to switch between display as an indicator or display as a percentage.

Switch between Current, Puff, Time

While the menu is blinking. information, press the Up button to switch between Current, Puff and Time.

Logo setting

With the device turned on, press the main button and the up button to enter the logo menu. turning on / off the display of the logo is carried out by the buttons "Up / Down". The logo must be monochrome, in BMP format, size 64 x 48 pixels.

Error messages and warnings

No Atomizer Alert

The message appears if the device cannot detect the connected atomizer when pressing the main button.

Atomizer Low Alert

If the coil resistance is less than 0.1 ohm in variable wattage mode, or less than 0.05 ohm in thermal control modes, the device will give a corresponding warning on the display.

Atomizer Short Circuit Protection

This message appears when there is a short circuit in the evaporator.

The mod runs on 18650 batteries that are not included, so if you decide to buy, be prepared to pay another 10-20 dollars, and also, if there is no charger, since the mod can of course be charged via USB, but this is very long, especially with 3 -ac-mi, and even if you are patient and ready to wait 8-9 hours, it’s still better not to do this, since in the first Rx200 there were cases of burning the board, of course, a lot of time has passed and the manufacturer most likely solved this problem, but better do not risk and do not part with charging via USB.
Using USB, you can connect the mod to a computer and update the firmware that will increase the maximum power to 250W or put your logo on the main screen (64x48).

= at the top, next to the pin, the paint has peeled off a little because of the tank, this is of course not a problem since it is not visible there, but the very fact that the mod is quite easily scratched upsets.
I really liked Rx2 / 3, a really powerful and standalone mod with great functionality, settings, easy to use. I consider the innovation in the form of a choice between autonomy, power or compactness to be successful, I myself have not used the mod to its full potential yet, but who knows what tank or drip I will buy tomorrow, and the main plus in 3 batteries is still for me autonomy. A box mod is suitable for both an experienced user with high requirements for power and autonomy, and for a person, let's say, who has switched from “eyes”, you are unlikely to use it at full power right away, but here you will have a serious reserve for the future. The quality in my case is good, except for the cover, but the network sometimes complains about rattling buttons, the board has not changed with the previous model, the same good screen, all functions and protections remain. For this price (especially if there are batteries and external charging), I think this is the best mod you can buy, there are competitors, but those that I used still fall short.

I decided to try to write a review on an interesting, in my opinion, Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3 box mod. A review on the topic of electronic cigarettes, so if you do not like this topic, do not go under the cat.

I found the new Reuleaux from Wismec while I was looking for a replacement for the lost Sigelei Fuchai 213. I took it because of the ability to choose between compactness and autonomy depending on the situation: it can be used with two or three batteries.

At that time, I bought it for $41.74, but there may still be mods at the same price. The purchase reached Moscow in 12 days, delivered the courier to work. Gibest does not pack well, but I ordered a bunch of other things and because the box arrived unscathed.

Purchase screen

The kit came with a mod, a cover for two batteries, a cover for three batteries, waste paper and USB wiring. I did not take pictures of the contents of the box, everything is standard there.

Let's look at the mod itself:

The design retains all the features of the RX series, only the gray and white parts have been swapped. The screen came from the previous version of the RX200S, the buttons are clearly taken from the RX75. Button engraved with JayBo.
With two batteries, the mod is very compact and fits well in the hand. Probably one of the most convenient mods for two batteries.

In "fat mode" we get a standard "ryksa" for 3 batteries, but slightly higher than its previous versions. The mod becomes heavy and thick, it feels strange in the hand, but you get used to it with time. If you throw such a thing at a person, it is quite possible to kill :-)

The 510 connector, standard for this series, read complaints about it somewhere, but I have no problems. The photo shows a version with a "thick" cover.

At the bottom of the mod is a button that opens the lid. The lids closed with difficulty at first, but then they apparently got used and began to close much easier.

In slim mode, with the Sony VTC5 installed, the mod weighs 240 grams.

In "thick" mode, with the Sony VTC5 installed, the mod weighs 320 grams.

The display is quite bright and large, thanks to which all the necessary information is placed on the screen. The vertical arrangement of the display allows you to read all the information without turning the mod itself. And through the firmware program you can upload your logo (size 64x48).

A four-piece mod was assembled, the buttons rattle when shaking, the gaps are uneven. Also, in my mod, a piece of yellow tape (?) peeks out from above. I tried to show it in the photo, but it did not turn out very well.

The lid latches are plastic, I don't know how long they will live. If you try to move the display up or down with your finger, it moves slightly.

Control:

When the TCRM mode is flashing, you can press the "minus" button, and then "plus" select your preset temperature control modes.

Turn the screen upside down - turn off the mod, hold down the "plus" button and the "minus" button.
Setting your own TK values - turn off the mod, hold down the "plus" button and the "fire" button.

Check the voltage on the batteries - turn off the mod, hold down the "minus" button and the "fire" button.

Work features:

The mod is very honest, it shows only the power that it can actually give. Batteries are connected in series. Therefore, planting 2 batteries and then picking up a third one will not work. Through the USB port, you can charge the device (mod manufacturers traditionally do not recommend doing this) and update the firmware. There is no charging balancer, if the batteries have a voltage difference of more than 0.3 V, then when you connect the USB cable, the mod will display the message “Imbalanced Batteries” and will not charge.

Pros and cons of the mod:

The mod fits perfectly in the hand. I had several mods on 2 batteries and this one is the most convenient. If we fasten the third battery, we will get a fat monster, with which it is convenient to soar, for example, at a party or at home at the computer. I also really liked the large and bright screen. The manufacturer releases new firmware for the mod, and fans on specialized sites saw patches on them, which allows you to slightly customize the mod for yourself.

What I really did not like was the plastic latches inside the mod. I'm afraid this will adversely affect the survivability of the closing mechanism. And given that the mod does not work without a cover, a breakdown of the mechanism can be fatal. Charging without a balancer forces you to buy external charging. These are probably all the cons that I have found at the moment.
Now let's move on to the positives. The mod fits perfectly in the hand. I had a lot of mods on 2 batteries and this one is the most convenient. If we fasten the third battery, we will get a fat monster, with which it is convenient to soar, for example, at a party. I also really liked the large and bright screen.

If the resistance of the installed atomizer exceeds the previously determined value by at least 5%, the message "new coil right, same coil left" will appear on the display. Confirm the choice by pressing the appropriate key: "left" - if you are using the same atomizer, or "right" - when changing the heating element.
The maximum allowable resistance in TC modes is 1.5 Ohm. If the resistance exceeds the allowable value, the device will automatically switch to VW mode.

Error messages and warnings

No Atomizer Alert

The message appears if the device cannot detect the connected atomizer when pressing the main button.

Atomizer Low Alert

If the coil resistance is less than 0.1 ohm in variable wattage mode, or less than 0.05 ohm in thermal control modes, the device will give a corresponding warning on the display.

Atomizer Short Circuit Protection

This message appears when there is a short circuit in the evaporator.

Device Too Hot

This message appears when the internal temperature of the device exceeds 70°C. In this case, the device automatically turns off and needs some time to cool down.

Over 10 Second Protection

If the main button is pressed for more than 10 consecutive seconds, protection against accidental pressing is activated and a corresponding message appears on the display.

If in the temperature control mode the current temperature of the coil has reached the value set by the user, a corresponding message appears. IMPORTANT: This message is not an error or failure message.

Weak Battery Alert

If the battery voltage drops below a certain limit (2.9 V) while vaping, the device will display a corresponding message and reduce the output power.

Low Power Alert

If the battery charge drops below 10%, the battery symbol on the display will flash to alert the user to recharge the battery.

Imbalanced Alert

This message appears on the display if the device detects that the voltage difference between the installed batteries is more than 0.3 V. In this case, remove the batteries and charge them in an external charger for balancing.

Check USB Alert

The message appears if the voltage supplied through the connected USB cable exceeds 5.8 V.

Charge Error Alert

With this message, the device notifies the user that charging does not occur for some reason when the USB cable is connected.

Check Battery Alert

This message means that at least one of the batteries is installed incorrectly. You need to open the battery cover and install the batteries correctly.
