Gas boiler without electricity. Information about the principle of operation, design, pros and cons of the device. Floor-standing gas boilers are non-volatile Gas boilers without electricity

If power outages are the norm in your area, then you can choose a non-volatile option to create a good heating system. This could be a compact gas boiler required power. This technique is quite convenient and has many positive qualities.

Characteristics of gas heating boilers

The first question that most users have is how it works. this device? It functions perfectly without electricity. This is achieved through the use of air currents or natural draft. A number of models are equipped with special safety sensors. They operate if there is little or no air draft. When activated, the gas supply stops.

If we talk about the type of installation, then you can choose a floor-standing option. Typically, such devices are quite bulky and heavy. Their installation requires special works. If you are looking for more compact version, then a wall-mounted boiler will be an excellent choice. They are light and practical, save space well and easily fit into the interior design.

The number of circuits, as in other models, can be different. Create indoor climate and heating running water possible using a double-circuit boiler. Models with one circuit will only work as a heating system. To ensure the necessary functionality of the device, a chimney should be installed and good ventilation should be developed.

Advantages of wall-mounted energy-independent boilers

Such devices have many advantages, thanks to which they have gained popularity among consumers:

  • the system does not require electricity;
  • efficiency;
  • compactness;
  • high efficiency;
  • safety of operation.

A suitable model can be purchased with delivery in Moscow and other cities of Russia, as well as in Belarus and Kazakhstan. To do this, just find the heating boiler you like in the catalog of our online store. We offer competitive prices, convenient service and installation services. Reliable system heating - this is your peace of mind and sense of stability. Make yourself and your loved ones happy warm atmosphere in the house!

- This is a solution for residents of those areas where power supply is unstable. Unfortunately and to date There are such “bear corners” where electricity is cut off very often. This is especially unpleasant during the cold season in houses where heating is based on electricity.

Approximate size of non-volatile gas heating boilers

There is also a problem such as a discrepancy between the voltage in a given area or a particular house with the required one. Sometimes such interruptions can last up to one week or even more. Under such conditions, it becomes necessary to abandon heating systems that require electricity to operate and switch to the use of energy-independent boilers.

Having considered all the pros and cons, you can choose one of the devices that run on other fuels, for example, coal, wood, peat, etc. Well, if the house has a gas supply, then there will be no problems with heating the house. There are many models of boilers on sale that can operate not only on gas, but also on solid fuel - they are called combined.

Combined heating devices have one design - this is a floor-mounted version. They can be single-circuit or double-circuit. The first are intended only for heating, the second can handle both heating and water heating for the needs of residents.

Floor diagram - Lamborghini WBL 5 boiler

Combined options have heavy weight, since some of their elements are made of heavy alloys of cast iron or steel. For this reason, they are not available in a suspended version.

Another option for heating devices are boilers that operate only on gaseous fuel. They can be executed both in suspended and in floor-standing version, and also have a single-circuit and double-circuit circuit.

How to approach the problem of choice?

An important note - such boilers must “be able” to work in heating systems with both forced and forced natural movement coolant, which is water (preferably purified), or antifreeze - a coolant for domestic needs.

  • Natural circulation is the movement of coolant along a circuit under the influence of gravitational forces arising from heating water and replacing it with cold water, due to the difference in density and the correctly planned slope of the heating system pipes.
  • Forced movement of the coolant occurs using a pump installed in the system, which creates more intense pressure in the circuit. Under such conditions, the system warms up faster, thereby saving gas. But such heating is only possible with a constant supply of electricity.

What is the conclusion - when purchasing a boiler in an area with an unstable electricity supply, you need to choose a unit that will be effective with natural circulation.

  • Must be taken into account when choosing gas appliance and the pressure with which gas is supplied in Russian gas pipelines. Typically it is 1.270 MPa. The passport attached to the heating device must indicate the permissible gas pressure for this particular unit.
  • If the boiler was purchased earlier and is designed only for heating with solid fuel, then in some models it is possible to replace the igniter and install a burner to convert it to gas.
  • Non-volatile heating devices are reliable, simple and easy to operate. If all safety measures are followed during installation and operation, gas boilers are completely safe. In addition, they are equipped with an automatic system that is triggered when the gas flow ends or the flame goes out, completely turning off the entire device.
  • Available on the market wide choose models of domestic and foreign production. The latter are considered more economical, since they are equipped with automatic devices, capable of controlling the intensity of combustion. Domestic devices are no less reliable, but also more affordable price, and they are also better adapted to local conditions and parameters.
  • The boiler must be equipped with a thermostat, with which you can regulate the heating temperature of the coolant. When it cools below set temperature, the boiler automatically turns on the heating.
  • In some areas, with the onset of winter and a drop in air temperature, the pressure in the gas supply system also decreases. This nuance must also be taken into account when choosing a model for heating a home, and buy the option that will work uninterruptedly at both normal and reduced pressure. If these conditions are met, the boiler will operate uninterruptedly at any time of the year, but, knowing the peculiarities of the local gas supply system, it is necessary from time to time to winter period monitor the operation of the boiler to prevent the heating system from freezing.

Installation of the unit

Installation of non-volatile heating units is carried out according to a specially drawn up plan, which is agreed upon with the controlling fire safety and gas supply organizations. It is very important to create the necessary conditions for normal operation of the device:

  • maintain positive temperature in the boiler room;
  • Follow fire safety instructions during installation. Combustible material walls must be insulated non-flammable materials such as asbestos or metal sheets;
  • if the boiler is installed independently, it is necessary to start it for the first time in the presence of a specialist who will check the correct installation and operation of the device .

IN plan-project Boiler installation also includes the installation of a chimney system. It must comply with established standards that have been developed design organizations, depending on power heating device. The chimney must be individual for each heating device or have a cross-section that allows it to be discharged required amount from two or three devices.

According to standards, a chimney that is discharged through the roof and located one and a half meters from the ridge horizontally must rise in height by no less than half a meter. If it is brought out through the roof at a distance of one and a half to three meters horizontally, it is raised at least to the height of the ridge.

When building a chimney, you also need to know that it should not have more than three turns, but it is better if it is perfectly straight. But, in any case, its total height in a straight line should not be less than five meters. The top of the chimney is covered with a special fungus made of metal; it will close the pipe opening from moisture and dirt.

Another chimney option is a coaxial one; it is not suitable for all types of heating boilers and to install it, you need a specialist’s recommendation.

Such smoke duct does not require great height and fits into the wall. Its installation will cost much less and will not be difficult. But it should be noted that, without forced electrical air circulation, it may not create the necessary draft, so the boiler will spontaneously turn off more often than with a traditional pipe. Another disadvantage is the formation of condensation inside the coaxial chimney.

Boiler models

As an example, it is worth considering several boiler models that are popular due to their functionality and convenience.

Gas boiler Viadrus G36 (BM)

This model is available in various capacities. To decide which one is suitable for a specific heating system, you need to familiarize yourself with the technical characteristics.

Model

  • Viadrus G36 is exactly that boiler that does not depend on the building's electricity supply. It has an atmospheric steel burner.
  • For uninterrupted operation of the gas valve, a thermoelement is built into the boiler, and it is capable of creating required quantity electricity. The device also has a sensor that protects against traction rollover.
  • This type of boiler is adapted to local conditions and works great, heating the coolant from 45 degrees and above.
  • If you need to connect a pump to this boiler model to increase the coolant pressure, but you are afraid of power supply interruptions, you can have an additional one at home uninterrupted sources nutrition.
  • For Viadrus G36 boilers, a coaxial chimney is well suited if it is not possible to install a traditional one for gas boilers.
  • A positive quality of this unit can be considered the ability to connect an indirect heating boiler to it.
  • When choosing a boiler, you need to choose an option whose power is 15 percent more than required.

Gas boiler Protherm Bear TLO

Another proposed option for non-volatile boilers is Protherm Bear TLO. Its characteristics are also worthy of attention.

TO positive characteristics These boilers also include the following qualities:

  • work in systems with open movement coolant;
  • have piezo ignition;
  • combustion chamber is open;
  • the heat exchanger is made of cast iron;
  • Efficiency is 87-92%;
  • burner made of stainless steel;
  • power is regulated in one step;
  • has a winter-summer mode;
  • automatic control carried out using a microprocessor;
  • chimney draft is controlled;
  • the heat exchanger, made of cast iron, is protected from condensation;
  • overheating protection;
  • flame intensity control;
  • constant monitoring of coolant temperature and pressure;
  • operates on liquefied or main gas;
  • The cooling circuit does not allow the coolant to heat up above 100-110 degrees.

Thanks to all these qualities, operating the boiler is not difficult even for a beginner. Quite compact size high efficiency work, as well as a neat design are also important, especially if the boiler is installed in the kitchen or bathroom.

Alas, even in the Moscow region, not all cities and towns have high-quality and reliable electricity supply, let alone those remote from the center populated areas. Voltage in country houses often differs from the nominal voltage by tens of percent; emergency power outages can last for weeks. In such conditions, creating a heating system based on a volatile boiler is very reckless. It makes more sense to use a non-volatile methane boiler that does not consume electricity from the network. What are the features of this technique and what does the market offer?

Application area

Non-volatile boilers for gas fuel used in heating systems with natural or forced circulation of coolant, as well as in DHW systems. Prepared water or, unless prohibited by the manufacturer, household antifreeze such as Hot Blood, Dixis, Warm House-65, Olga can be used as a coolant. Most often, non-volatile gas boilers are used in the residential sector - for heating apartments and country houses permanent residence. Less commonly, they are used for heating small commercial buildings.
All devices that have successfully passed certification in the Russian Federation operate on natural gas With nominal pressure 1274 Pa (130 mm water column) according to GOST 5542–87. When replacing nozzles (main burner and igniter), some models can operate on liquefied (cylinder) gas.

The most widespread in the Russian Federation are single-circuit non-volatile boilers designed for heating. Their heating circuit heat exchangers are made of cast iron or steel. Boiler models with cast iron heat exchangers are designed for 20–25 years of operation; the service life of more affordable boilers with steel heat exchangers usually does not exceed 10–15 years.

Dual-circuit models are also used - the presence of a second circuit allows them to be used simultaneously for both heat supply and domestic hot water supply (at a low intensity of water consumption). The secondary circuit coil is usually made of copper pipe, its heating occurs due to contact with the coolant.

Injection atmospheric burners are used as burner devices in non-volatile gas boilers.

Safety, reliability, simplicity and ease of operation of non-volatile boilers are largely ensured by the use of modern non-volatile automation units. In boilers with imported (primarily Italian and German) automation, the most significant savings gas consumption due to automatic burner power modulation mode. Boilers with automation Russian production usually turn out to be the most attractive at the purchase price.

The user adjusts the temperature by setting the boiler water thermostat, based on personal feelings “hotter - colder”. But some models can also be paired with a room thermostat mounted in a control room, which monitors temperature fluctuations and issues commands to reduce or increase the gas supply to the main burner.

In areas where in winter the gas pressure at the entrance to the house decreases significantly, experts strongly recommend the use of non-volatile boilers that can operate stably when the pressure drops (down to 300 Pa and below), without turning off, but only proportionally reducing the heating output. It is unacceptable to leave a working device on long time without supervision, since if there is an emergency shutdown of the gas and the boiler stops, the heating system may defrost or other property may be damaged by the cold.

Placement and installation of a non-volatile boiler, as well as gas supply to it is carried out by a specialized construction and installation organization according to a project agreed upon with the operating enterprise/trust gas industry. In this case, the equipment manufacturer’s requirements for air temperature and room ventilation, as well as the requirements for the characteristics of the enclosing structures next to which the boiler is installed, must be strictly observed. Amateur action here is unacceptable, as it is fraught with serious consequences, including the complete destruction of the heated house as a result of a gas explosion!

During the installation of a non-volatile boiler, the closest attention should be paid to chimney. The chimney device to which the device is connected must comply with SP 42-101–2003 " General provisions for the design and construction of gas distribution systems", meet the requirements of the "Rules fire safety for residential buildings, hotels, dormitories, administrative buildings and individual garages. PPB-08–85" and the requirements of the "Rules for the performance of work and repair of stoves, chimneys and gas ducts."

The chimney, as a rule, should be located in the internal main wall of the building (although variations are possible). Its minimum live section determined by the boiler manufacturer and in most cases should not be less than ½ × ½ brick. Height chimney above the roof of the building depends on the horizontal distance from its axis to the ridge and should be:

♦ at least 0.5 m above the ridge, if the pipe is located at a distance of up to 1.5 meters from the ridge;
♦ not lower than the ridge level, if the pipe is located at a distance from 1.5 to 3 meters from the ridge;
♦ not lower than a line drawn from the ridge downwards at an angle of 10° to the horizontal, if the pipe is located more than 3 meters from the ridge.

It is important that the smoke channel is strictly vertical, smooth, even, without turns or narrowings. Its height from the lower level of the apparatus must be at least 5 meters. Connecting others heating devices it is not allowed to the chimney of a non-volatile boiler.

Some models of non-volatile boilers, including parapet models, have a closed combustion chamber and communicate with environment using a horizontal coaxial chimney. It is mounted in a through hole in the outer wall and is equipped with a windproof cap. The coaxial chimney simultaneously removes flue gases and supplies combustion air.

Using a coaxial chimney allows the installation of non-volatile boilers in rooms without a vertical chimney. This significantly expands the scope of application of energy-independent boilers. However, during operation, non-volatile boilers with a coaxial chimney are more likely than devices connected to vertical smoke ducts, are turned off due to gusts of wind blowing out the burner flame, or freezing of the flue (especially models without modulation, operating in the “ON/OFF” mode and allowing condensation to form in the chimney).

Problems often arise due to the destruction by condensation of the masonry of the wall through which the coaxial chimney passes.

When using a heating system with natural circulation coolant the heated coolant from the boiler supply pipe rises through the pipes to top floor, where it passes through the heating radiators, then falls to lower floors, where it also releases part of the thermal energy in the radiators, after which it enters the return pipe of the heat generator. Such heating systems are also called gravity.

Let us note that it is necessary to create a heating system with natural circulation of the coolant “with knowledge of the matter”, correctly selecting the diameters of the pipes, maintaining the required angles of inclination in the horizontal sections of their laying. When building a system with natural circulation, it is necessary to take into account the requirements and recommendations of the boiler manufacturer, since the warranty on the device depends on this.

When installing a non-volatile boiler in a heating system with forced circulation of coolant The system configuration, pipe diameters and their inclinations during installation are usually not so critical. But in this case, the pressure in the heating system in operating condition should not exceed the permissible value. To avoid destruction of the boiler heat exchanger, it is necessary to provide a safety valve in the system.

Without energy

The automatic operation of a non-volatile boiler does not require any externally supplied electricity. In the simplest case, the boiler gas valve is controlled by the voltage generated when the thermocouple is heated in the pilot burner flame, which, in turn, is ignited manually using a piezoelectric element. The voltage across the solenoid gas valve coil keeps it open, allowing gas to flow to the main and pilot burners. When the pilot burner goes out, the gas valve instantly stops the gas supply to the boiler, thus ensuring complete safety in operation.

What does the market offer?

When choosing equipment, the first thing logical to consider is the possibility of using a non-volatile boiler with cast iron heat exchanger. Unlike boilers with steel heat exchangers, where it is necessary to constantly maintain the temperature of the heating water above the dew point, when operating cast iron boilers, even at a heating water temperature of about 30 °C, fatal damage to the heat exchangers by low-temperature corrosion does not occur.

Most models equipped with a cast iron heat exchanger are supplied to Russia from EU countries. Equipment of European brands are Alphatherm Delta (Hungary), Alphatherm Beta (Slovakia), Attack (Slovakia), Beretta (Italy), Electrolux (Sweden), Protherm (Slovakia), Viadrus (Czech Republic), Fondital (Italy).

Thus, floor-standing non-volatile gas Electrolux boilers FSB-P are available in a power range from 14 to 60 kW. This is a fairly new range of highly efficient floor standing boilers with a high performance gray lamellar cast iron sectional heat exchanger.

Thanks to the application new technology DROP STOP heat exchanger of the Electrolux FSB-P boiler is resistant to hydraulic shocks and thermal deformations.

The use of NANO FLAME technology, even at a gas pressure of 350 Pa, ensures stable ignition and long trouble-free operation atmospheric gas burner. This technology allows the boiler to continue to operate even when the pressure in the main line drops to 220 Pa.

The burner of the Electrolux FSB-P boiler is protected from burnout by preventing the surface of its flame pipes from heating to critical temperatures.

Manufacturers of non-volatile gas boilers with cast iron heat exchangers from Russia and the CIS countries often create devices using imported components, which allows them to obtain equipment of fairly high quality, the price of which is approximately 10–15% lower than that of imported products with similar characteristics.

As an example, we can cite the line of cast iron non-volatile boilers “Titan N” from CJSC Gaztekhprom (Ryazan) with a nominal heating output of 25 to 60 kW, which are equipped with gas valves and SIT control units (Italy) with a full safety group that meets all domestic and European requirements.

Boilers "Titan" are equipped atmospheric burners company POLIDORO (Italy) with fire tubes made of of stainless steel.

Here we mention the Taganrog boilers "Lemax" Leader of GGU-ch» with a power from 19 to 55 kW, equipped with a VIADRUS heat exchanger (Czech Republic) made of high-quality gray cast iron 4 mm thick, as well as Siberia KCHGO gas boilers with an imported cast iron heat exchanger, burner and automation unit, manufactured in Russia at the Rostovgazoapparat CJSC enterprise in the city of Rostov -on-Don.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the KCHG cast iron floor-standing gas boilers from Servicegaz LLC, Ulyanovsk. These boilers use a highly efficient cast iron heat exchanger with a needle convective heating surface, main burners made of heat-resistant stainless steel with slotted grooves. Gas pressure stabilizer built into gas block, ensures uniform combustion gas-air mixture on the main burners with constant heating output, regardless of the gas pressure in the network, without requiring adjustment.

The KChM-5-k boilers from OJSC Kirov Plant, equipped with non-volatile SABK automation (version 17; 23; 36), are well known to many buyers. Their undeniable advantage is their versatility - a boiler, originally designed to operate on gaseous fuel, can subsequently be easily converted to operate on solid or diesel fuel and even used oil.

The main advantages of gas floor-standing energy-independent boilers with steel heat exchangers We can attribute their low mass, which is important when installing equipment in houses with “weak” walls and ceilings, increased resistance to water hammer and thermal loads, low inertia (devices quickly respond to changes in heat demand) and are even more affordable than boilers with cast iron heat exchangers, price.

Among the imported equipment, we note single-circuit, energy-independent floor-standing gas boilers of the Dakon P lux series, the maximum power of which is in the range of 18–50 kW. The devices are designed for heating various rooms and can be integrated into both natural and forced circulation systems. Inner space The steel heat exchanger of P lux boilers is formed by sections with embedded economizers for the fullest use of the thermal energy of combustion products.

DAKON P lux boilers are equipped with HONEYWELL CVI automatic equipment and are manufactured in two modifications - “ON/OFF” (modification Z) and with two-stage power control “HIGH-LOW” (modification HL). One of the functions of the P lux boiler is quick stop of operation when used draft regulator, it significantly increases its safe operation.

Interesting models of non-volatile floor-standing boilers “Wolf KSO”, equipped with a steel heat exchanger, are presented in the Russian Federation by the company Protherm. The boilers are assembled at the plant in Taganrog under the close attention of Protherm employees, which, according to the manufacturer, guarantees high quality and reliability. It is worth paying attention to AOGV - Beretta with a heating capacity of 11 and 17 kW, which were developed in accordance with the requirements of GOST 20219 “Domestic gas heating devices with a water circuit.”

Russia has a traditionally strong position domestic producers non-volatile floor-standing boilers with steel heat exchangers.

For example, the Russian non-volatile heating devices of the Zhukovsky Machine-Building Plant are well known - single- and double-circuit heat generators of the Economy, Universal and Comfort series with a heating capacity of 11 to 63 kW. The devices are reliable and durable. The use of a steel heat exchanger with turbulators, a modern atmospheric slot burner and high-quality automation units in the devices, according to representatives of the plant, made it possible to improve environmental parameters and increase their real efficiency.

All non-volatile boilers of the Zhukovsky Machine-Building Plant are certified by the State Standard of Russia, have a sanitary-epidemiological conclusion and a decision of the State Technical Supervision Authority of Russia for production and use.

In the city of Borino, Lipetsk region, a household appliances plant gas equipment Since 1997, JSC Borinskoye has been producing non-volatile boilers equipped with a steel heat exchanger with a capacity of 12.5, 25, 31.5, 40, 50, 63, 80 and 100 kW. The plant provides warranty and post-warranty service for its equipment, a “wide geography” of service centers and a completely reasonable price both for the boiler itself and for its maintenance and repair.

In demand among buyers thermal technology Siberia produced by ZAO Rostovgazoapparat. In terms of thermal characteristics and design, these non-volatile boilers are not inferior to many foreign analogues. Siberia boilers use a heat exchanger made of carbon structural steel with a developed heat exchange area, Eurosit automation, and a WORGAS burner. The boilers are resistant to large differences in gas pressure and have high efficiency. Basalt fiber is used for thermal insulation of the boiler.

Single-circuit and double-circuit boilers are considered to be a variety of non-volatile boilers with a steel heat exchanger parapet boilers. They are equipped closed camera combustion and connected to a horizontal coaxial chimney. The boiler is mounted on the floor, near the outer wall, in which a hole (about 300 mm in diameter) is previously made for the release of a coaxial chimney.

Large quantities of parapet boilers are supplied to the Russian Federation from Ukraine. As an example, we can mention DANI parapet AKGV 7.4-U-S (new) - a double-circuit parapet gas boiler with a sealed combustion chamber with exhaust of combustion products through horizontal chimney. This model is an updated series of Dani parapet boilers with the ability to connect to the heating system on both the right and left sides. Supplied with coaxial chimney kit.

We also note the Ukrainian parapet boilers “ThermoBar KS-GS-7.0 S” (JSC “Barsky Machinery Plant”), characterized by a long service life and an efficiency of at least 90%. Operating pressure of boilers up to 2 kgf/cm² allows them to work with natural and forced circulation of coolant. The boilers are equipped with a multi-section atmospheric stacked burner made of stainless steel.

Parapet boilers from the Impulse and BeleTo brands are free from many of the disadvantages of parapet boilers from other manufacturers. Their heat exchangers are made of anti-corrosion steel 3–4 mm thick, which significantly increases reliability and service life (in some other parapet boilers The heat exchanger is made of steel with a thickness of only 0.8–1.2 mm).

The BeleTo boiler can take combustion air from both outside and indoors. When taken from the room, air is sucked into the boiler body from above, and not from below, which prevents the burner from clogging. Thanks to the two-section burner, the Impulse boiler has a power control range from 20 to 100%, and the BeleTo 40 boiler -100%, which is important for the Russian winter with its wide range of outside air temperatures during the heating period.

Can a gas boiler work without electricity?? This question often arises among owners of private houses, who constantly have to deal with significant bills regarding electricity payments, because in addition to household appliances and light sources, sometimes you have to pay not as little for an electric boiler as you would like. Therefore, it is advisable to become familiar with the operating features of such an installation as a gas non-volatile boiler.

A gas boiler without electricity is presented in the form of a classic model of a floor-standing appliance, the operation of which is possible without the use of additional power sources. The main purpose of such an installation is to heat water in buildings where power outages can be encountered quite often. For example, residents of rural areas or dense areas often suffer from a constant lack of light. Besides, technical progress does not stand still, and many manufacturers produce double-circuit boilers, while in such installations the gas consumption is significantly reduced, and heating adjustment is also possible.

Since a gas boiler without electricity is quite in demand these days, due to its high quality and efficiency, many manufacturers are engaged in the manufacture various models such installations. The latest news from steel manufacturers wall-mounted boilers, which fit well with the required heating circulation based on the convection principle.

In simple words, a wall-mounted gas boiler without electricity works according to the following scheme: after heating, water rises up to the pipe, from where it enters the system. To ensure constant uninterrupted circulation, the pipes leading to the installation should be installed at the desired angle, and their diameter should correspond to the average values. It is also worth paying attention to the installation position; the boiler is usually placed at the lowest point of the heating structure.

Some owners of private plots prefer to enhance the efficiency of a gas energy-independent boiler by connecting a special pump, which in turn operates using power. Thus, it is possible to pump the coolant, which enhances the work gas boiler.

Important! When the pump is turned off, the energy-independent installation operates in independent mode.

Design features of a non-volatile installation

Gas boilers This type is distinguished by the following configuration:

  1. A pair of gas burners, pilot and main purpose;
  2. Open combustion chamber;
  3. System providing automatic operation devices;
  4. Thermal sensors to ensure installation safety, backdraft valve;
  5. Heat exchanger.
Important! Features of the non-volatile gas boiler system include the operation of an open, expanded tank, due to which the liquid expands when the coolant is heated. This process ensures the circulation of the coolant. The expansion of water is accompanied by the formation of excess liquid, which moves to the tank itself.

Ignition of such an installation is provided by a piezoelectric element, which starts working a second after the button is turned on. Its purpose is to heat the pilot burner, which in turn ignites the main gas burner. Thus, a heat exchanger is activated, which is responsible for maintaining the required water temperature. Over time, the gas supply stops, the heat exchanger parts cool down, therefore, all stages are repeated.

Pros and cons of using independent boilers

The main advantage that all floor-standing gas boilers without electricity have is their ability to operate regardless of the electrical network. In addition, the installation does not require additional wiring into the room and sockets, which allows significant savings.

The advantages of using such an installation also include the ease and safety of using this element of the heating system. The simple type of boiler is ideal for providing heat transfer in a small house or large private building.

In addition, such gas heating boilers operate silently, especially when installing such a type of device as a double-circuit gas boiler without electricity, since its design eliminates pumps that create annoying noise. At the same time, this type of heating system element is particularly reliable and durable. Such criteria are ensured thanks to the experience of manufacturers who, over many years of production, have brought the installation to perfect condition. At the same time, you should pay attention to the high efficiency indicators of boilers. A double-circuit boiler can not only provide the required temperature in the required building, but also take care of the supply of hot water.

The heat exchangers of such installations have a long service life.

Negative aspects of gas boilers operating without electricity:

  1. Installation of this type of boiler is possible only in houses with good draft in the chimney, on which the quality and safety of the operation of the entire heating system with such an element will depend.

  • If sufficient draft is neglected, constant fire extinguishing may occur, provoked by the triggered backdraft valve.
  • The operation of such an installation does not always meet the required level. For example, if you select the wrong diameter pipes leading to the boiler, you can install the device incorrectly, which will negatively affect its operation.
  • Operating principle of the boiler

    Due to the lack of access to energy supply, two-chamber boilers are equipped with special thermogenerators, which are responsible for the state of the burner by stopping the gas supply to it. This process provide the influence of the coolant on the regulator. Automatic system provided in the boiler, restarts access to gas as soon as the coolant has completely cooled down. Ignition for this purpose is provided by the operation of a piezoelectric element, the task of which is to ignite the pilot burner. if necessary, the piezoelectric element starts ignition of the main element, which in turn is responsible for heating the liquid in the entire heating system.

    Determination of types of energy-independent gas boilers

    Basically, gas non-volatile boilers are classified into the following types:

    1. single-circuit gas boilers without electricity - designed to operate exclusively as an element of the heating system;
    2. double-circuit - installations capable of providing not only heat supply to the heating system, but also water heating.

    Determining the appropriate model for an installation such as a gas boiler without electricity

    The main guideline for determining the appropriate model of such an installation as an autonomous gas boiler without electricity is the correspondence of its heating power to the required area, and this characteristic must also correspond to the load on the installation. The double-circuit type of boiler, manufactured mainly by foreign companies, is often determined more serious price category. This is explained by the increased quality, design design and more advanced functionality of the device compared to domestic analogues. At the same time, determine the manufacturer gas installation should be done with special diligence, it is especially worth considering the presence of service centers of the represented company in the city or nearby, because the device requires maintenance and sometimes repair.

    The most popular and high-quality manufacturers of gas autonomous boilers include the following companies: Italian manufacturers Alphatherm and Beretta - Italy, Slovenian company Attack, Czech-made Protherm and Swiss-made Electrolux.

    Although models from domestic manufacturers are more attractive in terms of price, their reliability does not always correspond to the level of foreign analogues. Although they have their own special advantage - the models are produced according to all parameters corresponding to the use of boilers under local temperature conditions.

    It is better to give preference to a gas boiler with heat exchangers for the manufacture of which cast iron or steel was used, while Special attention you should pay attention to the first version of the material
    . Such preferences can easily be explained by the impressive service life of the cast iron element, because a coolant of this type can last up to three decades, while steel part will last no more than twenty years. In addition, cast iron coolant has high strength characteristics, since walls made of cast iron will be much thicker than those of steel, and practice shows that such a device will last much longer and more efficiently.

    Moreover, after for long years When using a gas boiler, the heat exchanger tends to corrode. At the same time, cast iron is more advantageous than steel. Corrosion yes this element The device may occur as a result of a drop in temperature, which leads to the formation of condensation. Corrosion processes in such cases are provoked by released moisture.

    In addition, the design of the heat exchanger provides for the presence of sections. If one of them is unsuitable, it is not advisable to change the entire heat exchanger; replacement is sufficient. At these production stages, all kinds of impurities are added to the cast iron, which significantly increase the strength characteristics of the boiler as a whole, which provides it with additional safety during transportation.

    A gas boiler without electricity is a traditional model of a floor-standing appliance that does not require additional energy sources to operate. It is advisable to install devices of this type if there are regular power outages. For example, this is relevant in rural areas or dacha areas. Manufacturing companies produce modern models double-circuit boilers.

    They have reduced gas consumption, as well as the ability to adjust heating.

    Many popular manufacturers produce different models energy-independent gas boilers, and they are quite efficient and of high quality. Recently, wall-mounted models of such devices have appeared. The design of the heating system must be such that the coolant circulates according to the principle of convection.

    This means that the heated water rises up and enters the system through the pipe. To ensure that the circulation does not stop, the pipes must be placed at an angle, and they must also be large in diameter. And, of course, it is very important that the gas boiler itself is located at the lowest point of the heating system.

    A pump that is powered from the mains can be connected separately to such heating equipment. By connecting it to the heating system, it will pump coolant, thereby improving the operation of the boiler. And if you turn off the pump, the coolant will again begin to circulate by gravity.

    Boiler design without electricity

    The gas boiler, independent of electricity, has:

    • 2 gas burners – pilot and main;
    • Combustion chamber - in such devices it is open for better traction;
    • Automation;
    • Boiler safety system - temperature sensor, backdraft valve (it is needed to regulate the operation of the chimney);
    • Heat exchanger.

    The non-volatile gas boiler system must have an open expansion tank, since when the coolant heats up, the liquid expands. And this is what promotes coolant circulation. But during expansion, excess is formed, which enters this tank.

    Ignition in such gas boilers occurs using a piezoelectric element, which operates when a button is pressed. With its help, the pilot burner is ignited, and the main burner is ignited from it. gas-burner, thanks to which the heat exchanger heats up and the desired liquid temperature is maintained.

    After some time, the gas does not flow and the burner goes out, after the heat exchanger has cooled down the process repeats.

    Advantages and disadvantages of independent boilers

    The main advantage of this gas boiler is the lack of connection to the electrical network. Since this is an additional saving and there is no need to connect an outlet.

    It should be noted that these devices are easy to use. And also system security. This type of boiler is the simplest. And suitable for heating like small house, and large rooms.

    Quiet operation of a dual-circuit device independent of electricity is ensured by the absence of pumps. Such devices are reliable and durable. This can be explained by the fact that such boilers have been produced for a long time and their operation has been tested in practice for more than one year. An independent boiler produces high efficiency. A double-circuit boiler easily provides the desired temperature in the house, as well as hot water.

    In such devices, the heat exchanger lasts much longer than in other models of gas boilers.

    Let us note the disadvantages of such a boiler:

    A gas boiler independent of electricity should only be installed in a house with good chimney draft. This is absolutely necessary for the safe and high-quality operation of the device. If the draft is insufficient, the fire will constantly go out due to the backdraft valve being activated.

    If you have an independent gas boiler, the heating system does not always work as desired. For example, if you install pipes of the wrong diameter or do not calculate their desired location. All these factors are very important. It is better to design a heating system for a specific gas boiler, then there is a guarantee that no failures will occur.

    Boiler operation

    Since there is no access to electricity, double-circuit boiler there is a thermogenerator that stops the gas supply to the burner. This occurs when the heat carrier is exposed to the regulator. The automation resumes the gas supply to the boiler when the coolant cools down to a certain temperature.

    Ignition occurs using a piezoelectric element, which ignites the ignition burner (it burns constantly) and, if necessary, the main heat source is ignited from it. It helps heat the liquid in the heating system.

    Types of independent gas boilers

    We can distinguish the following types of boilers operating without electricity:

    • single-circuit– apply only to the heating system;
    • double-circuit- These are devices that, in addition to heating, also provide hot water for household needs.
    Rice. 1

    Double-circuit gas boilers, in turn, provide hot water in 2 ways: flow-through and storage.

    Selecting an independent boiler model

    Gas boilers operating without electricity must fully correspond to the area of the heated room. That is, the power must match the load.

    Dual-circuit models foreign manufacturing companies are often more expensive than domestic ones, since they are more advanced and have attractive design. The manufacturer of the gas boiler must be chosen carefully; it is important to make sure that this company has a service center in the city or nearby. Since, if necessary, you can find spare parts for repairing the device there.

    The most popular manufacturers of such equipment are Alphatherm, Beretta - Italy, Attack - Slovakia, Protherm - Czech Republic, Electrolux - Sweden.

    Rice. 2

    Domestic models of independent boilers are cheaper than foreign ones, but are considered less reliable. But we should pay tribute that such devices have already been adapted to our weather conditions and the parameters under which they must operate.

    A gas boiler without electricity can be chosen with a steel or cast iron heat exchanger. The most popular are cast iron devices. This is explained by the service life: cast iron will last 30 years, and steel 15-20 years.

    Cast iron is not only stronger, but the design also means that the walls of such a heat exchanger are thicker. This prevents the walls of the heat exchanger from burning through. This device has been tested in practice.

    The heat exchanger may also be subject to corrosion. A cast iron appliance is much less susceptible to such damage than steel. Corrosion on the heat exchanger appears if the temperature drops to the point that condensation appears. And this very moisture leads to corrosion processes.

    Also, the cast iron heat exchanger, by its design, consists of sections. If necessary, you can change a section, not the entire device. Nowadays, impurities are added to the cast iron alloy, which make it even stronger. This means that it will not crack if transported incorrectly.

    Rules for installing a gas boiler

    It is better to install a gas boiler independent of electricity in separate rooms with a good ventilation system, and also ensure air flow there. Because due to open chamber Combustion air is constantly “eaten” by the boiler. Combustion products are discharged through the chimney.

    Rice. 3

    When installing a wall-mounted independent gas boiler, a coaxial chimney is installed, the design of which is called “pipe in pipe”. Coaxial chimney Not suitable for all devices and requires specialist advice.

    If necessary, you can install circulation pump. Mount it via bypass. It is recommended to install taps near it: 1 at the entrance and 1 at the exit. A tap is placed separately on the main line, which must be closed when the pump is running. If such taps are available, if necessary, you can repair the pump without draining the water from the system. It is recommended to install a filter in front of the pump.

    There are certain conditions that must be maintained:

    • the boiler room must have a positive temperature;
    • fire safety. The walls in the boiler room must be equipped with non-flammable material. As a rule, asbestos or metal sheets.
    • The first start-up of the boiler after installation should be carried out under the supervision of a specialist.

    A specialist should also check that the chimney is installed correctly. It is necessary that it corresponds to the power of a gas boiler without electricity and to the standards established by competent organizations. It is better to have a separate pipe for each heating device. According to the standard, the chimney should be straight; if it is impossible to make it this way, then there should be no more than 3 turns.

    The length of the chimney should be about 5 meters. The heating unit must be selected and installed in accordance with the pressure in the gas pipeline, usually it is 1.270 MPa. The documentation that comes with the device (passport) always indicates the acceptable limits of this indicator. Sometimes gas pressure indicators in winter time are decreasing. Knowing this feature of the region, you need to select a device without access to electricity accordingly.
