Installing a gas meter yourself. Installing a gas meter in an apartment: step-by-step installation instructions. Stage #1 - choosing a service provider

Gas equipment household use, designed to measure fuel consumption and installed in the house, has a certain service life, depending on the model of the device. After its completion, the home owner cannot count on receiving accurate and reliable meter data. If replacement is untimely, the user will be forced to pay not for the gas actually used, but according to general standards that are established by law. That is why it is so important to understand such an issue as installation gas meter in a private home - requirements, terms for checking and replacing the device.

Why is it so important to choose the right meter?

In a private house there is very important devices who consume domestic gas, - This geyser, stove and heating. Natural gas is consumed quite a lot, and since its cost can hardly be called low, it is useful to keep track of the raw materials used.

This device will not pay for itself soon, in about 3-4 years, since it costs quite a lot, and these are not all of its shortcomings. These also include the large dimensions of some models and their noise. Therefore, when choosing a device for gas metering, it is necessary to take into account all its advantages and disadvantages.

Important! When signing a document for gasification of your home, you should pay attention to the recommendations for installing the meter - make sure that it is suitable specifically for your conditions.

Types of gas meters

The general criterion for correct gas consumption is the presence of the following characteristics:

  • Determination of the maximum flow level.
  • Center distance of connections at horizontal version installation
  • Temperature conditions.
  • Threaded connection size.
  • Duration of interverification activities.

Before installing a gas meter in a private home, you need to select it, and for this you need to know the types of meters. There are only four of them:

  • Membrane ones are simple and reliable. These are often German devices intended for industrial and household use. What distinguishes them is profitable price, and high accuracy indications. Disadvantages include dimensions and sensitivity to constant variable loads.
  • Rotary - not afraid of loads and are characterized by durability, accuracy of readings and great throughput. However, being light weight and small sizes, such devices are quite expensive.
  • Turbine - named according to the principle of operation. The flow of fuel rotates the turbine, thus fixing the amount of consumption. This - modern models, which are created for online transmission of readings to the service server. They are not cheap and have not yet become widely used.
  • Vortex - their main feature is their dependence on electricity. This can also be called a disadvantage of such devices. But the advantages include low sensitivity to contamination and a large flow measurement range.

Important! Electric models They are easy to set up and use, they do not make noise and do not take up much space.

Rules for replacing a gas meter

If the gas flow meter is installed in individual house which belongs to a private individual and is used for household purposes, then the responsibility to promptly check this equipment and replace it falls on the shoulders of the home owner.

Important! It is worth noting that self-replacement or installation of the meter is strictly prohibited, as this violates safety requirements. Installation gas equipment must be carried out exclusively by a specialist with the required qualifications.

When replacing a gas meter, you must follow a number of rules:

  • Before carrying out installation work, a specialist must inspect the territory, as well as the gas equipment used in the room.
  • The meter must be installed at a distance of at least one meter from the gas technology, that is, columns and slabs.
  • The device must be located at a distance of approximately 3-5 cm from the opposite wall (this will help avoid corrosion).
  • The equipment can be placed in a special locker or under a canopy if the device is located outdoors.
  • The room must have natural ventilation.
  • The device is mounted above the floor at a distance of 160 cm (if other numbers are indicated in the instructions for the equipment, then the specialist is guided by them).
  • The installed device must be sealed for its readings to be considered valid.
  • There should be no equipment near the device that could generate moisture or heat.

Important! From the day the seal is installed on the meter, payment for gas is made based on the actual amount of fuel consumed, and not according to general standards.

The procedure for replacing a gas meter in a private house

As mentioned earlier, only a specialist can install a gas meter in a private home. Such work is carried out gas companies who have the appropriate license, as well as emergency dispatch services.

The procedure for replacing such a device is the following sequence of actions:

  1. First, you should submit an application to the organization and conclude an agreement with it for the provision of services.
  2. Next, you need to wait for the visit of a specialist who will check the gas equipment and take all measurements to install the measuring device.
  3. Pay the master a pre-agreed amount of money (for installation work, as well as for the meter itself, if you entrusted its purchase to the organization).
  4. After the installation is completed, you need to obtain from the master a certificate of work done, a contract for Maintenance equipment, as well as the act of putting the device into operation.
  5. Finally, you should contact the company that services your home to install a seal on the meter.

Important! The gas meter is sealed within three days from the moment the request is submitted to the appropriate organization that provides utility services. If the specialist does not come after this period, the owner of the property has the right to complain to the authorized authorities.

Documents required to replace a gas meter

To enter into an agreement with an organization to provide the service of installing a gas meter in a private house, the owner of the house must provide some documents:

  • Owner's passport.
  • Metering device passport.
  • A title document for housing, for example, a purchase and sale agreement.

Important! If the applicant is not the owner, a rental agreement must be provided.

  • Gasification project for the premises.
  • Technical plan of the house.
  • An application, which can be drawn up on a form provided by the organization or in free form.

Important! In addition, when contacting utility service To seal the device, the consumer must also provide a passport of the new equipment and certificates of completion of installation work and commissioning of the meter.

6.47 Installation of meters is provided based on the conditions of ease of installation, maintenance and repair.

The installation height of meters, as a rule, should be 1.6 m from the floor level of the room or ground.

The distance from the installation sites of meters to gas equipment is taken in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of manufacturers set out in the meter passports. In the absence of the above requirements in the passports, the placement of meters should, as a rule, be provided at a distance (radius) of at least:

Law on installation of gas meters

A gas meter is a device that allows you to take into account the volume of gas entering the apartment through the gas pipeline. Gas consumption will not be the same in different residential premises, and installing a meter will help save money.

Residential gas meter and its installation

Recently there has been a lot of controversy regarding the installation of these devices. Federal Law No. 261-FZ dated November 23, 2009 “On energy saving and increasing energy efficiency and on making changes to certain legislative acts RF” provides for equipping every house and apartment with gas meters.

What does the law say about the installation of gas meters?

Article 13 of the above law states: “until January 1, 2015, the owners apartment buildings are required to equip their apartments with gas meters.” This means that the homeowner must install a gas meter at his own expense. If after January 1 of the next year there are no meters in the apartment, then the gas service has the right to install them independently, but the owner of the apartment must pay the organization the cost of the device and work. There are no penalties, but they could appear in the future.

But at the end of 2014, the situation with gas meters changed dramatically. The thing is that a new legislative act has appeared, signed by the President of the Russian Federation, which abolishes the mandatory installation of metering devices in apartments with one gas stove. This is regulated by the law of December 29, 2014 No. 466-FZ “On amendments to the Federal Law “On the peculiarities of the functioning of the electric power industry in the transition period and on amendments to some legislative acts of the Russian Federation and the recognition of some legislative acts of the Russian Federation as invalid in connection with the adoption Federal Law“On the electric power industry” and certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation.”

The bill with such a long name states that if the maximum volume of gas consumed in an apartment is not more than 2 cubic meters per hour, then it is not necessary to install a gas meter. As gas service workers explain, the law defines gas stoves that consume no more than 2 cubic meters per hour.

If in apartments, except gas stove If there are other devices, the gas consumption will exceed the above norm. And the meter will have to be installed.

Is it profitable to install a gas meter in an apartment?

Many people believe that a meter will help them save money. This depends on the following factors:

  1. from the living area of an apartment or house. It is clear that for heating larger area you will need to burn more cubic meters of gas. But the heating boiler can be adjusted and if it’s warm outside, heat less;
  2. on the condition of the housing. If in an apartment bad windows, doors and drafts everywhere, then there will be no benefit in the meter, you will burn more gas, but the heat will go outside;
  3. on the number of family members. If a child is growing in a family, then the temperature in the room should be high in winter, otherwise the baby will get sick. IN big family column and slab are also more often used;
  4. from use alternative sources energy. If there are other alternatives for obtaining heat, then the benefit from the meter is obvious.

— in a gasified room;

- V non-residential premises gasified residential building with natural ventilation;

- in a room adjacent to the gasified room and an open opening connected to it industrial building and boiler room;

— in GRP, ShRP, GRPB;

- outside the building.

6.46 It is permitted to use household gas meters (hereinafter referred to as meters) as gas metering devices, the placement of which is regulated by this subsection.

6.47 Installation of meters is provided based on the conditions of ease of installation, maintenance and repair. The installation height of meters, as a rule, should be 1.6 m from the floor level of the room or ground.

6.48 In order to avoid corrosion damage to the meter coating, when installing it, a gap (2-5 cm) should be provided between the meter and the structure of the building (structure) or support.

6.49 Installation of the meter indoors is provided outside the area of heat and moisture release (from a stove, sink, etc.) in naturally ventilated places. It is not recommended to install meters in stagnant areas of the premises (areas of the premises fenced off from ventilation duct or windows, niches, etc.).

The distance from the installation sites of meters to gas equipment is taken in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of manufacturers set out in the meter passports.

Regulations

In the absence of the above requirements in the passports, the placement of meters should, as a rule, be provided at a distance (radius) of at least:

- 0.8 m from a household gas stove and gas-using heating equipment (capacitive and instantaneous water heater, boiler, heat generator);

- 1.0 m from a restaurant stove, cooking boiler, heating and heating-cooking oven.

6.50 External (outside the building) installation of the meter is provided under a canopy, in cabinets or other structures that protect the meter from external influences. Allowed open installation counter.

The placement of the meter includes:

— on a separate support on the territory of the gas consumer;

- on the wall of a building being gasified at a horizontal distance of at least 0.5 m from door and window openings.

Placing meters under openings in walls is not recommended.

6.51 The design of the cabinet for placing the meter must provide natural ventilation. Cabinet doors must have locks. Must not have any damage and be sealed. According to the manufacturer's passport, they must undergo state verification within the time limits specified there. Maintenance is carried out once every three months.

Reasons and procedure for replacing a gas meter

InfoIn this case, they are guided by factory standards (usually indicated in the device passport).

  • There should be no devices that generate moisture or heat (radiators, sinks, etc.) within 2 meters.
  • After installation, the device must be sealed by an employee of the housing organization.
  • The need for replacement is determined by the serviceability of the device or the operating period (registered in the passport). At whose expense is it produced? The gas meter is the property of the owner of the house, therefore he is considered responsible for its condition.

According to Gosstandart order No. 125, the owner of the house bears full responsibility for:

  • maintaining the meter in proper condition;
  • verification of the device;
  • the correctness of the device readings and its performance.

In other words, the property owner is obliged to ensure that the meter is in good condition.

We collect documents for installing a gas meter

Preparation of documents for the installation of a gas meter occurs in several stages.

So that you are prepared and do not return to government agencies again and again (because again they didn’t capture required document!!!), read this section carefully or just print it out......

1. First, you need to obtain permission to install the SGB.

Contact the Authorized Person State Organization your city, for issuing “technical conditions for the installation of appropriate gas equipment” (for example, Gazservis - in your city it may have a different name).

Take with you:

- original and photocopy of the residential property registration certificate;

— original and photocopy of the technical passport of the premises;

- original and photocopy of personal passport.

After your documents have been verified, you will fill out the Application a certain shape, for issuing technical specifications for installing a gas meter. After regulatory period consideration of your application (each organization has its own deadlines, but on average from 2 days to 2 weeks) - You come for ready-made documents called “Technical conditions for installing a gas meter”.

In some cities, installing a gas meter does not require obtaining " Technical specifications", you are allowed to immediately contact the designer - check with the Gas Service of your city at the moment.

2. Now you have the right to contact any design specialized organization (this could be Gazservis, individual entrepreneur, LLC, OJSC, private enterprise, etc.) that has an SRO license for this type activity (in our case, this is the installation of a meter), for the production of a “Project for the installation of a gas meter”.

When ordering a project, be sure to discuss with the designer: the desired installation location; desired brand, type of gas meter. After receiving the project in your hands, pay attention to the presence of a seal confirming the approval of your project with the organization operating your gas networks - this point can also be discussed when ordering the project, so that there are no misunderstandings in the future.....

3. Having in your hands the “Project for the installation of a gas meter”, you can contact any specialized organization that has a license for the installation of gas equipment (Gazservis, individual entrepreneur, LLC, OJSC, private enterprise, etc.) for installation in your apartment or private house of SGB .

On January 1, 2015, the Federal Law (No. 466-FZ dated December 29, 2014) came into force, according to one of the norms of which owners of apartments and houses who use only gas stoves are exempt from the obligation to install gas meters.

Previously, such an obligation for all users of gas equipment, including owners of apartments and houses equipped only with gas stoves, was established by the Federal Law “On Energy Saving” (No. 261-FZ of November 23, 2009). Dates for entry into force of the requirement mandatory installation gas meters were moved several times. January 1, 2015 was the last date by which the law obliged users to install meters natural gas.

In practice, fulfilling this requirement turned out to be unprofitable for a significant part of consumers, since the costs of owners who use only gas stoves for installing meters at current tariffs practically do not pay off.

Installing a gas meter in an apartment: safety rules, installation, requirements

Basically, only companies that install meters en masse benefit. They, in fact, fueled the excitement last year, frightening the population with the approaching date of entry into force of the rule on the mandatory installation of metering devices.

Legislators eventually drew attention to the problem that was troubling public opinion. The law they adopted at the end of December actually abolishes the obligation to install gas meters for homeowners equipped only with gas stoves.

The corresponding norm, although expressed in a somewhat specific form, is contained in Article 3 of Federal Law No. 466 of December 29, 2014, which has a very long title that means nothing to the general public: “Federal Law “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Peculiarities functioning of the electric power industry in the transition period and on introducing amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation and invalidating certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in connection with the adoption of the Federal Law “On Electric Power Industry” and certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation.” This article, in particular, amends Part 1 of Article 13 of the Federal Law “On Energy Saving” of 2009, which establishes a list of objects that are not subject to requirements regarding the need to organize accounting of energy resources used. Except for dilapidated, emergency facilities, facilities subject to demolition or major renovation as of January 1, 2013, objects with low power consumption of electrical and thermal energy are included in this list, objects “the maximum volume of natural gas consumption of which is less than two cubic meters at one o'clock".

Gas stoves that consume no more than 2 cubic meters fall under this definition. m of gas per hour.

When the instrument combination (stove and gas water heating column, stove and gas boiler), gas consumption, as a rule, exceeds this norm (you can check the consumption volumes in the technical data sheets of the devices), therefore, in these cases, the legal requirements on the need to install gas meters remain relevant.

Household gas consumption metering devices - gas meters - have become increasingly in demand due to the annual increase in the cost of “blue fuel”. The costs of its installation are compensated over several years of operation, due to the fact that actual consumption is significantly lower than the standards established by local authorities.

The question that interests every user who decides to install the device: “How to hide the gas meter and supply pipes to the water heater or stove, without compromising the aesthetics of the kitchen (dining room)?”

Selection by technical parameters

Gas flow metering devices are presented big amount modifications from various manufacturers and have some differences in their technical parameters. Due to the fact that gas is equated to high-risk energy sources (unlike water and heating), the installation of the meter is carried out exclusively by the gas company.

After making a decision on installation, do not rush to buy a metering device at your own discretion.

They have significant differences that need to be taken into account:

  1. Throughput – to service one stove in the kitchen, a meter with a throughput parameter of up to 1.6 cubic meters is suitable. m/hour, columns – 2.5 cubic meters. m/hour, heating boiler – up to 4 cubic meters. m/hour of gas.
  2. Diameter of the gas supply pipe - in apartment buildings a pipe with a diameter of ½ inch is installed, in the private sector and industrial buildings, the size can be ½, ¾ and 1 inch.
  3. Temperature operating conditions - installation of the meter, allows its connection to a pipe in unheated room or on the street. Devices approved for such installation have the symbol “T” in their designation.
  4. Duration of verification intervals - depending on the manufacturer and purpose, gas meters have different verification periods (8 - 12 years). This characteristic indicated in technical passport devices.

Users need to remember that the period for checking (replacing) the meter is calculated from the date of manufacture, and not from the date of its installation. The simplest and most often installed in the kitchen is the counter. membrane type. Its main advantage is reliability and a good accuracy rate over the entire period of operation.

Rules for installing a gas meter in the kitchen

A user who decides to install a gas meter in the kitchen of his apartment must take into account that this procedure is strictly regulated according to two main parameters:

  1. “Insertion” into the gas supply pipe is carried out at a height of 1.6 m from the floor.
  2. Distance from column, plate or heating boiler to the device should not be less than 0.8 m.

It is these rules that make it difficult to hide the gas meter and pipes to give the kitchen a more perfect look.

Can the owner refuse to install the appliance so as not to spoil the renovation of his favorite kitchen, even at the cost of additional gas costs? According to Law No. 261-FZ, adopted in 2009, there is no provision for installing meters in 100% of the residential sector.

How to hide the meter and gas pipe in the kitchen

The Internet is filled with advertisements from private repair organizations offering to carry out transfer and closure gas pipes and a counter. Do not forget that the owner of the residential premises bears responsibility (in the form of) a fine for unauthorized reconstruction.

Please note the following rules:

  • Do not recess the pipe into the wall and then seal it.
  • It is prohibited to cover the equipment with a non-removable box.
  • Do not install pipes in the ventilation system.

Shortening the pipe or moving the meter is carried out only in agreement with the company that inspects and repairs the equipment.

You can hide them in the following ways:

  1. Equip kitchen furniture holes and channels.
  2. Install a ventilated plasterboard box.
  3. Decorate with various components that are widely represented on the finishing materials market.

To equip your kitchen with a high-quality gas meter, you should take into account the need for subsequent renovation of the room and the manufacture (order) of wall furniture that will help hide the device and pipes.

Measuring the volume of gas used can reduce your monthly utility costs. The absence of a meter in a house or apartment obliges consumers to pay for services at a single tariff - for the volume of gas that, according to statistics, is consumed by one person over a certain period. From this article you can learn the rules in the apartment and the basic requirements for installation.

Criterias of choice

Today, several types of meters are used: membrane (diaphragm), turbine, rotary, and also vortex, so there really is plenty to choose from.

In Russia, membrane-type devices are most often installed on household gas networks. This equipment is equipped with an elastic membrane. The main advantage of these devices is reliability, simplicity of design and relatively small Electronic meters differ in more accurate indicators thanks to built-in monitoring sensors.

They are also divided according to how much gas they consume in one hour. This parameter is determined by studying technical parameters everyone gas appliances located in the apartment. Consumption of a classic four-burner gas stove averages 1.56 m 3 /hour, columns - 2.5 m 3 /hour. Summing up the total consumption will allow you to find out the power of the required meter.

When choosing a rotary, volumetric or electronic gas meter, you should pay attention to the fact that gas can be supplied either from the left or from the right. It is important to consider this point when purchasing.

When purchasing, it is imperative to check the manufacturing date of the selected model, since the interval between verifications is determined not by the day of installation, but by the date of manufacture. If more time has passed since the factory check than is required before the next test, then some difficulties may arise with the service life.

Marking

The meter marking indicates the amount of gas consumed:

  • Devices marked G1.6 are capable of passing and counting volumes of up to 2.5 m 3 /hour.
  • G2.5 - up to 4 m 3 / hour.
  • G4 - up to 6 m 3 / hour.

There is also more powerful equipment, for example, the gas meter SGMN G6 or G10. These devices are characterized according to the same principle.

The testing interval for old-style equipment (SG marking) is 5 years. While a modern electronic gas meter can operate for an average of 12 years.

Installation Requirements

A gas meter is a rather complex device; certain requirements must be met when installing it. Each one must come with a passport - a document that contains information about the device and the requirements for its installation and operation.

Exist General requirements and rules for installing a gas meter in an apartment:

  • The distance from the device to the floor surface is 1600 mm.
  • The distance from the heating boiler or gas stove to the device is 800 mm.

In addition, this equipment can be installed not only indoors, but also from the street. In the latter case, it is advisable to protect the meter from direct influence sun rays, strong temperature changes, moisture. Such impacts can significantly reduce the operational life of the metering device.

When installing individual devices, the passport may indicate additional devices in the apartment that apply to a specific model and differ from the general requirements.

Required documents

For installation you will need the following sample list of documents:

  • Ownership of the premises where the metering device will be installed.
  • Identification.
  • Equipment passport.
  • If the device has not yet been purchased - passports for all gas equipment installed in the room (boiler, stove, etc.), to determine the power and load when choosing a meter.
  • Floor plan of a living space, house.

This sample list documents, so when you finally decide on installing a gas meter, exact list It is advisable to check on site.

Installation instructions

Rules for installing a gas meter in an apartment:

Basic installation requirements

Despite the fact that gas meters are a private house are not installed by the consumer himself, it is necessary to familiarize himself with the basic installation requirements. And in addition to the above rules, there are others.

Installation of gas meters is the law!

In accordance with Law No. 261-FZ “On increasing energy efficiency and energy saving...”, adopted in 2009, gas meters must be installed in every home. And there is nothing bad or terrible about this, because we must pay for the quantity consumed, and not for the norm, which is determined by the number of registered people.

After all, in different apartments And at home, energy consumption is different, some have more, some have less. Most owners who installed metering devices felt savings on their wallets.

Article 13, paragraph 5.1. states that the installation of gas meters (Law No. 261-FZ) must be carried out by the owners of apartment buildings before January 1, 2015.

Installation cost

In principle, any metering device is the property of the person who owns the apartment. Accordingly, the customer must reimburse not only the cost of the meter, but also the installation work.

Exists whole line factors that can affect the total cost. Let's look at them:

  • For whose money will the device be purchased?
