Ceiling finishing with clapboard options. Do-it-yourself ceiling cladding with clapboard: selection of material and installation. Beautiful examples in the interior

Finishing the ceiling today has many solutions. One of the most common methods is lining, which is a modern finishing material - a facing board. It is made from natural wood, either from fiberboard (read: ""), or from plastic and has a tongue-and-groove connecting system, resulting in a monolithic surface. Ceiling upholstery with clapboard is made by creating a frame and subsequent cladding using the selected material depending on the interior of the room.

Types of lining

The most popular is wooden lining , which is produced from such coniferous and deciduous species as: fir; larch; spruce; pine; aspen; Linden; oak, etc. Ceiling lining in a pine house, which is used as construction material for long period. The advantages of this wood species are the following: the presence of a small number of knots, ease of processing, resistance to the formation of mold and mildew. Products made from it are durable and strong. Many consumers prefer to line the ceiling with pine clapboard interior rooms- the result looks very decent in appearance, which is confirmed by the photo.

Before covering the ceiling with wood lining, a choice is made and a finishing material is purchased, which is divided into 4 quality classes: C, B, A and Extra or Premium and is divided into simply lining and eurolining (more details: ""). It is also divided into types according to geometric parameters: width, length, thickness.

Plastic lining can be seamless or with a seam , can have any solid color or imitate the structure of different tree species, natural stone and other things. Plastic white ceiling made of lining is universal and suitable for rooms of various functions. The joint board is installed using the tongue-and-groove method and as a result has an appearance similar to a wooden covering.

Seamless is connected in the same way, but its seam is almost invisible, so it is considered an ideal option for ceiling design. Seamless wide lining for the ceiling is five times wider than usual, due to which there are fewer joints between panels.

The lining made from fiberboard is MDF panels , available for sale in a virtually limitless color scheme. Their production is based on a method where wood fiber is pressed and given the required thickness flat shape and tongue-and-groove device. This type of lining should not be installed in rooms with high humidity, for example, in the bathroom.

Creating a wireframe

Before upholstering the ceiling with clapboard, you need to form a frame structure: the ends of the main profile strips should be attached to the guides so that they are located over the entire area of the ceiling and are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the direction of fastening. To enhance bearing capacity The system uses suspensions that are mounted to the base of the base ceiling and to profile strips with 60-centimeter increments.

Specialization: master of internal and exterior decoration(plaster, putty, tiles, drywall, lining, laminate and so on). In addition, plumbing, heating, electrical, conventional cladding and balcony extensions. That is, renovations in an apartment or house were done on a turnkey basis with all necessary types works

If we want to make a ceiling from lining, then most likely we mean wooden panels. However, lining is also called MDF and PVC panels due to the similarity in configuration and method of fastening.

Wood finishing is very beautiful, since it is a natural raw material that always evokes admiration, plus the unique aroma characteristic of a particular type of wood. Now I want to tell you how to sheathe a ceiling in a living room, but not in a bathhouse, since in such a room you still need insulation and vapor barrier, and this is a slightly different topic.

The article will focus on panels that are used for interior decoration in a house or country house.

Brief characteristics of the material

Meet the wooden lining: the name of these panels comes from the identity of their configuration with a tongue-and-groove board, which is used for lining railway freight cars:

  • the size of the wooden ceiling lining has certain requirements, that is, it is better and more convenient to use thinner panels 12-14 mm thick, although the material can be from 12 mm to 25 mm;
  • but indoors, panels less than 20 mm thick are usually used, and lining, which is 20-25 mm, is used for external cladding (it is also called “collective farmer”);
  • Based on GOST 8242-88, the width of the lining for the ceiling or walls can be from 100 mm to 150 mm, and the length no more than 6 m. Therefore, you need to cut the required sizes yourself;
  • if we talk about the types of wood from which such boards are planed, then usually it is larch, spruce, pine, oak, ash, linden or alder, but these are only ordinary options;
  • such panels can be made from any type of tree, including valuable exotic species - it all depends on your financial capabilities and wishes.

I will tell you below how to attach the lining to the ceiling, and I will immediately warn you that it is quite simple and depends more on the quality of the sheathing. And I also wanted to touch on the question of how to paint a ceiling made from such panels - this can be done with any paint for wood, applying it paint brush or even maklavitsa.

Note. When choosing a type of wood, you should take into account the fact that needles (spruce, pine) will not darken for several decades, while other species will become covered with a patina in a few years.

Step 1 – marking

In any case, whether it is a ceiling with lining elements or entirely made of panels, it must have smooth planes. To do this, a control line is drawn on the wall using a chockline (painting cord).

The depth of the ceiling cavity will depend on two factors:

  1. firstly, this is the height of the room;
  2. secondly, whether built-in ones will be mounted, and what type they will be (the shortest ones are diode devices).

Depending on the length of the lamp holder, you need to step back from draft ceiling plus 10 mm for free space. So, for diode devices, 4 cm is usually enough, but for others - at least 7 cm or more.

If the lining on the ceiling ripples after a year, this is a consequence of improper installation of the sheathing. The fact is that the distance between metal or wooden profiles the ceiling frame should not exceed 40-50 cm, especially in rooms with high humidity, for example, in the kitchen.

Despite the exhaust hood, hot steam rises to the top and settles in the form of condensate; let’s add temperature changes here. As a result of these factors, the boards begin to deform if their fixation is too sparse ( big step lathing).

In order for the sheathing under the lining to be held securely on the ceiling, you need to correctly calculate the distance between the joists. To do this, mark the location for mounting each profile, marking control lines with a chokeline, as in the top image.

On two opposite edges of the ceiling, after 40 cm or, in extreme cases, after 50 cm, place marks, and along them, mark lines, the direction of which should be perpendicular to the future installation of the panels.

Step 2 - installation of the sheathing

If the ceiling is covered with old clapboard, it means that the sheathing is already installed there and all you have to do is change the panels. However, in our case we will do everything from the very beginning.

We have already repulsed the control lines, and it’s time to mount the hangers:

  • if the profiles are wooden (rail 20-25 mm thick), then the distance between them should be no more than 40-50 cm;
  • if made of metal (CD), then it can be increased to 60-70 cm.

Pay attention to the photo above - it shows two options for installing a perforated strip suspension - correct and incorrect.

So, we have already decided how far the lining ceiling goes down - we have a control line along the perimeter of the room. The same line will also be a guideline for attaching the UD profile.

On the upper side of the line, fix the UD profile with dowels and screws, and if it is finishing in wooden house, then simply fasten the UD with self-tapping screws. But in order not to stray from the horizontal level, leave the reference point visible, but close to the profile.

Cut the CD profiles 5 mm shorter than the distance between the opposite walls and insert them into the UD. But don’t fix them together yet and don’t screw them to the hangers.

Level the two outermost opposite profiles and fix them according to all parameters (this will serve as a guide together with the UD edging). And you tighten the rest of the profiles in the middle with suspensions, bending the ears so that all CDs are temporarily a little higher than the level.

Now stretch a nylon thread across the CD, screwing it with “fleas” to the UD on opposite sides - it will serve as a level for the sheathing. Next, each profile is laid along this same thread.

In this case, the CD should be about half a millimeter higher so as not to knock off the thread. All CDs that are aligned with the thread are immediately fixed to the UD and hangers, and the hanging ears are bent to the sides or upwards.

Step 3 - Lighting

Since it is possible to fasten euro-lining or ordinary ones only with sheathing, it would be a sin not to take advantage of the resulting ceiling cavity and not install recessed lamps. Moreover, if the ceiling is made of eurolining, then spot lighting it will look its best.

And then you first need to do the wiring. In addition to the overhead lighting, there will, of course, be other wires, so you need to pack them all for safety in a metal or plastic corrugation, which is convenient to secure with plastic brackets for pipes

Before you start installing the lining on the ceiling with your own hands, you need to do all the electrical wiring with the exact location where the spotlights will be installed.

So, you will have the opportunity to make holes in the panels not in the installed state, but at the bottom - even before installation - this is much more convenient. To drill holes, use core cutters - you can choose from a set required diameter under the lamp console.

Step 4 - installation of panels

First of all, let's look at the question of what to cover with clapboard first - the ceiling or the walls, is the order of principle? I will say right away that in principle the order does not matter, but adjusting the walls to the installed ceiling is much easier than adjusting the ceiling to the walls.

But there is also a “but” here - if you install UD on wall panels, then no problems will arise here either, so do what is most convenient for you.

The panels are fixed to the profile with clamps, which are put on the lower tenon of the groove, as shown in the top photo. Depending on the material from which the sheathing is made, you will use screws or nails for clamps.

If the profiles are made of metal, then self-tapping screws are required, and if they are made of wood, then nails can be used. But since it is more difficult to nail the bracket than to screw it, it is better to use screws in the second case.

Assembling the panels on the ceiling is very simple - the tenon is inserted into the groove and the lock is ready! It turns out that one side of the panel is held in place by the lock, and the other by the clamps.

The outer strips, of course, are nailed or screwed to the sheathing with self-tapping screws, while the caps should fit as close to the wall as possible so that they can be covered with fillets.

Conclusion

As you can see, do regular ceiling made of lining is absolutely simple - installation of the structure becomes difficult if there are several levels of the ceiling. I hope that I have covered the topic in detail. Perhaps you have any suggestions or comments - write about it in the comments.

Finishing the ceiling with clapboard is at the same time a beautiful, practical and functional solution for any room. Let's consider the advantages and disadvantages, secrets of choice and step-by-step technology installation wooden lining with your own hands.

The content of the article:

The modern range of ceiling cladding materials is very extensive and varied. Along with plastic panels and plasterboard sheets to the most current options cladding can be safely attributed to a profiled board made of natural wood. It is not difficult to explain the popularity of finishing the ceiling with clapboard: it is absolutely environmentally friendly, beautiful and easy to install and subsequently maintain.

Advantages and disadvantages of finishing the ceiling with clapboard

Cladding the ceiling with panels made of natural wood is rightfully considered a classic of the construction genre. Compared to competitive finishing materials, lining has many undeniable advantages:
  1. Excellent performance. Wood finishes are strong, reliable and durable. With proper pre-installation preparation and proper subsequent care, it will last at least 12-15 years.
  2. Ecological cleanliness. Unlike synthetic “relatives”, cladding made from natural lining is not only harmless, but also useful for the inhabitants of the home. Thanks to its hygroscopic properties, wood is able to purify the air and normalize the level of humidity in the room.
  3. Ease of installation. Distinctive feature finishing profiled board - the presence of special grooves and ridges. Thanks to these structural elements, ceiling cladding can be done easily and quickly, even without the assistance of assistants.
  4. Practicality and functionality. Sheathing ceiling base clapboard allows you to disguise minor flaws and flaws made during construction or repairs. In addition, behind the coating of decorative panels you can hide electrical wiring, pipes, ventilation ducts, sound or heat insulating layer.
  5. Aesthetic appearance . A ceiling made of wooden lining looks good, stylish and impressive and, importantly, it is compatible with almost any room design.
  6. Construction budget savings. Using natural boards for ceiling cladding, you can save a lot on the purchase of starting and finishing finishing materials - plaster, putty, paint, wallpaper, etc.
The disadvantages of this finish include the following:
  1. Proper cladding of the ceiling with clapboard implies the mandatory construction of frame sheathing. Constructions of this type noticeably “steal” the height of the living space.
  2. The next disadvantage of wooden cladding is low level fire safety. To protect the material from the destructive and dangerous effects of fire, it is carefully processed before installation work. protective compounds- flame retardants.
  3. It is worth considering that natural lining, valued for its strength and durability, can slightly change its geometric parameters and become deformed due to incorrect use or careless maintenance.

Criteria for choosing lining for ceiling finishing

Wooden cladding boards are presented on construction market in a huge assortment. To decide on the choice of this material, you should have a clear understanding of its varieties and properties. The main criteria by which they distinguish modern lining, include the type of wood used, its grade and cross-section profile.

Type of wood when choosing lining for the ceiling

Traditionally, coniferous or hardwood wood is used to make lining:
  • Coniferous wood. This category includes pine, spruce, fir, larch and cedar. Products made from the listed raw materials are practical, durable and resistant to moisture and fungi, so they can be used for finishing ceilings in residential, utility and utility rooms. The only thing is that such lining is not recommended for internal lining saunas and baths, since with a sharp increase in temperature, aromatic coniferous wood releases copious amounts of resinous substances that can provoke spontaneous combustion of the material.
  • Hardwood . This category includes oak, beech, ash, aspen, alder and linden. This wood lends itself perfectly machining, toning and techniques artificial aging. Due to its high decorative value, it is suitable for covering ceilings in rooms for various purposes - from terraces and balconies to bedrooms and children's rooms. A distinctive property of deciduous material is its resistance to temperature fluctuations and dampness. That is why ceilings made of this type of lining are often installed in rooms with high and variable humidity.

Classes of lining for ceiling finishing

A separate topic is the assortment of linings. Depending on the quality of the original wood, all molded lumber is divided into several classes:
  • Class "A". Lumber marked with this marking is characterized by the presence of small single knots and small non-through cracks. It is worth noting that, according to established standards, the listed defects are allowed only in invisible areas and areas (the back side and end of the board).
  • Class "B". Lining belonging to this class has noticeable roughness and imperfections, shallow longitudinal grooves and resin bags. On front surface Such products can reveal traces of mechanical impact - chips, scratches, nicks and burrs.
  • Class "C". Lumber of the last class includes edged boards with noticeable mechanical damage and pronounced wood defects - extensive knots, short through cracks, spots of contrasting shades and exposed resin pockets.
  • Note! For finishing cladding For ceilings in residential premises, experts recommend using lining of the first two classes. As for materials marked “B” and “C”, it is better to use them to create an intermediate frame or rough filing.

Wood profile when choosing lining for ceiling finishing

Depending on the type of profile connection, all wooden lining intended for finishing ceilings and other surfaces in residential premises is divided into regular and “euro”. The first one is cheaper than the second one, but at the same time it is significantly inferior to it in terms of configuration and processing quality:

    • European-style lining differs from traditional lining in its correct geometry, as well as a more complex and deeper tongue-and-groove connection, which prevents the formation of gaps between adjacent boards even with significant temperature and humidity changes.
    • An important difference between European and classic lining is in humidity indicators. During the production process, the first one undergoes mandatory drying in automated chambers, due to which the wood acquires the necessary strength and ductility.
    • The next argument in favor of eurolining is the presence of special ventilation ducts that act as air ducts and are responsible for the complete outflow of accumulated condensate.

Technology for installing lining on the ceiling with your own hands

Covering the ceiling with a wooden board is a task feasible for any interested craftsman. Thanks to convenient locking connections, assembly of the facing sheet is quick and extremely simple. Let's take a closer look at how to attach the lining to the ceiling to make the finish beautiful and durable.

Preparatory work before finishing the ceiling with clapboard

At the first stage of work, a number of certain preparatory activities should be performed:
    • To begin with, remove from the base ceiling old cladding and finishing materials. The surface is thoroughly cleaned of dirt and dust. Small cracks found in the floor slab are sealed putty mixture, deep cracks are opened using a grinder and concreted with cement-sand mortar.
    • To prevent biological damage wood finishing, the prepared base must be coated with an antiseptic composition deep penetration. The ceiling is primed in two stages using a fleecy roller equipped with a telescopic rod. The recommended time interval between the first and second application of the protective emulsion is 2-3 hours.
    • At the same stage of work, the lining purchased for finishing the ceiling is freed from the packaging wrapper, sorted and laid out in one layer on a flat horizontal surface in the room being installed. This simple procedure will help prevent cracking, warping and shrinkage of the purchased material.

Marking the surface for installing lining on the ceiling

At this stage of work it is necessary to prepare for subsequent arrangement frame system and mark it correctly ceiling surface. The main purpose of the marking is to determine the horizontal, indicating the plane of location of the wooden trim, and to apply parallel lines to all walls around the perimeter of the room.

It is most convenient to mark the ceiling using a laser tool, but as an alternative it is permissible to use a conventional one building level. Using the latter, they determine the lowest point of the base base and, starting from it, make marks on the walls around the perimeter of the room.

To apply a closed outline, use a marker or paint cord. It is important that the laid line converges at a single point, and any displacements indicate errors in the marking process.

The height of the interceiling space should not only mask the unevenness and errors of the floor slab, but also allow the free laying of all communications, insulating materials and built-in lighting devices. As a rule, when finishing with clapboard, the ceiling is lowered by no more than 7-10 cm.

Arranging a frame for a lining ceiling

Upon completion of the marking work, construction begins load-bearing frame. To make the sheathing, use metal profiles or planed beams with a cross-section of 50x50 mm. Here you can immediately use substandard lining discovered during sorting. The main thing to remember is that everything wooden elements frame structure subject to mandatory antiseptic treatment.

Let's take a closer look at the rules for arranging a frame for a lining ceiling:

    1. Install the sheathing according to the markings in a direction perpendicular to the position of the future facing sheet. When fastening the lining longitudinally, the frame strips are fixed across the room, when cross mounting wooden cladding frame is mounted along the room.
    2. Prepared Items supporting structure They are fixed in the following order: first, the edging slats are attached, then the intermediate ones. To fix the sheathing parts, dowels and screws are used.
    3. The optimal distance between adjacent rows of the frame system is 30-40 cm. To avoid the possibility of sagging of the facing fabric, the structure is additionally strengthened with cross lintels or suspensions.
    4. During the construction process, the sheathing is periodically checked for flatness. If necessary, all errors are corrected using placed bars or pegs of appropriate sizes.

Note! Before installing the lining, all cables, wiring, bases of built-in lamps, as well as heat and sound insulating materials are carefully laid in the under-ceiling space.

Attaching the lining to the ceiling

Next, they move on to the direct cladding of the frame structure. To quickly and reliably form a lining ceiling with your own hands, the panels are fastened using hidden metal clamps. Such fixing elements are both invisible and reliable: on the one hand they are attached to the underside of the finishing board, on the other - to the sheathing.
    • Installation wood panels start from one of the corners of the room, while technological gaps (up to 10 mm) must be left between the walls and the outer planks for possible thermal expansion of the material and unhindered ventilation in the ceiling niche.
    • The first plank is attached on both sides to the frame beams using furniture stapler. The second board is inserted under small angle into the grooves of the first, inserted all the way and fixed in places where the sheathing runs using clamps.
    • The fastening of subsequent panels is carried out similarly to the first two. For reliability, each set bar gently tap along the entire length with a mallet.
    • During recruitment wooden ceiling V necessary places cut through holes of the required configuration for the output of power wires. To trim the lining, use a jigsaw or hand saw.
    • At the end facing works all gaps between the wooden cladding and the walls are sealed with additional elements of a suitable size. Decorative clips or small furniture nails are used as fastenings.
    • If desired, the clapboard finish is coated with protective compounds based on natural oils or beeswax. Such impregnations highlight the natural beauty of wood, give it a soft matte shade and protect it from mold and wood-boring beetles.

Getting started installation work, you should de-energize the room being lined by turning off the circuit breakers in the electrical panel room.

    Types of ceiling frames

The first thing everyone should know is that when installing lining on the ceiling, you need to make a frame. The main task of the frame is to separate uneven and unsightly surfaces from your future new ceilings. The frame will also allow you to bring the ceiling into a single plane and provide the entire structure with good strength.

The ceiling lining is sewn on top of the frame, so you will need lathing in any case, no matter what anyone says. The frame itself is much simpler to make than a frame for plasterboard ceilings. You can use either simple wooden slats.

Choosing the material from which to make the frame is very simple. Here everything will depend on the operating conditions and on the wood from which the board itself is made. For rooms where the humidity level is exceeded, it is better to use it for a frame. metallic profile And . For the kitchen, it is also necessary to use a metal profile, and the finishing material - lining - can already be used here.

    Types of lining

In any other premises, a frame made of wooden beams will be an excellent solution. It can also be combined with many materials. Secondly, the process of installing the lining on a wooden frame is much easier than on a frame made of a metal profile.

    Lining - panel

Imitates a regular wooden beam and has more simple form. It comes in both wood and plastic.

    Eurolining

It has a deeper tongue-and-groove connection and a larger tenon. This technology helps better ventilation premises, drainage of moisture and various evaporations. Most often used for facade cladding. For interior decoration it is used more often than Lining-Shtil, since the cost of Eurolining is much cheaper.

    Lining – Shtil

The material has perfect smooth surface, which does not have grooves - recesses on the front part of the board. Used for interior decoration of walls and ceilings.

Simulates the laying of boards overlapping, as a result of which the joint between the boards is perfectly protected from various natural influences. Often used for exterior decoration.

    Tools and materials

When working with lining, and with wood in general, you need to keep the following set of tools with you so that your lining ceilings are flawless.

    • An ordinary hammer.
    • A screwdriver or a drill with a hammer.
    • and a construction corner.
    • Accurate tape measure.
    • Jigsaw or hacksaw.
    • Metal scissors, if the frame is made of metal profiles.

The materials themselves for lining ceilings must be selected according to previously drawn up calculations. Timber for wooden frame can be used from 20x20 to 50x50 millimeters.

Remember!!! The thicker the timber, the lower the level of your ceilings. The lining will hold perfectly on a frame made of 20x20 beams.

To mount the beams to the ceiling, you need to purchase plastic dowels that come with screws. The length must be determined based on the thickness of the beams, the lining itself, as well as the length that will be recessed into concrete floor. The screw should sit perfectly in the slabs, and not hold on to them with the very tip. Usually they take screws marked 8x45 or similar anchors.

If you decide to make a frame from a metal profile, then the family budget will be depleted much more. Since the number of frame components will increase significantly and you will additionally need:

    • Guide profile – UD.
    • The profile underlying the frame is CD.
    • Fastenings “Crab” and “U” - shaped fastenings.
    • Self-tapping screws for metal.

To install the lining itself on the frame, you can use construction stapler, self-tapping screws with a press washer. If the frame is wooden, then you can use ordinary nails.

How to attach a wooden frame

The first step is to mark the future ceiling from the lining. To do this, you need to find the lowest point on your ceiling from which to measure down the wall 6-10 centimeters and put the first mark. It will need to be transferred to all walls using water or laser level. It is according to these marks that you will check the horizontalness of the mounted frame for the future ceiling.

Important! When using wooden beams or other wood materials, remember that they are necessary first and to increase fire safety.

Wooden beams are mounted to the ceiling strictly perpendicular to how the lining itself will be mounted. The step between the bars should not exceed more than 100 centimeters. If the finishing material is PVC panels, then the pitch of the beams should not exceed 60 centimeters.

If you decide to make the ceiling not only elegant, but also improved, for example: then in in this case The step between the bars should in any case be no more than 60 centimeters. Since usually the so-called “slabs” of mineral wool or other thermal and soundproofing material They are also 60 centimeters wide. The bottom edge of all beams should be parallel to your floor and flush with the rest of the beams. Be sure to use a water level.

Along two walls we fasten two beams with different sides. The distance from them to the wall should not exceed 15 centimeters. We clearly check the level not only in the middle, but also along the edges of the beams. Next, we continue to install the beams in increments of 60 centimeters, checking our work using a level at different points. In places where the beam lags behind the ceiling due to curvature, it is necessary to place wooden pads, which can be made from the remains of the beam itself. Next, we stretch the fishing line and use it to fasten the entire frame for the ceiling from the lining.

If you are not sure of the reliability of the structure you have made, you can install additional cross beams, which will also ensure the rigidity of the entire structure. You can strengthen it only at those points where, according to your plan, lamps or other elements will be installed. Be sure to carry out all the necessary wiring before installing the beam. That’s the whole principle of making a wooden frame for lining ceilings.

    Metal carcass

As everyone knows, a metal profile for creating various types of ceilings is universal and suitable for absolutely any finishing material. The frame itself and its installation system will be exactly the same as when creating a frame for hanging single-level ceilings from plasterboard. Therefore, I don’t really want to repeat myself.

Lining made from wood or MDF will be laid on the ceiling in the same way. All boards must be prepared and cut to the same size as the distance between the walls. It is also necessary to take into account a small gap of 5 millimeters between the lining and the walls in order to protect yourself from thermal expansion. If you are not entirely sure that your walls are even, then it is better to cut each lamella of the lining to a specific location.

Important! If you plan to install the lining on the ceiling using self-tapping screws, be sure to drill holes in advance, otherwise cracks will form from the screws. If you use nails, you must use a hammer so as not to damage the lock and the front part of the board with a hammer.

When your clapboard ceiling is in the process of being installed, you must mark all the places for future lamps and cut holes for the wires. Once the ceiling is ready, cutting holes will be more difficult, as there will be a risk of damage.

The last strip of lining is usually installed using wedges. They must be carefully driven between the wall and the last board of the lining and, evenly tamping, drive the board into the lock. If the board is much wider in width than the remaining hole, then you need to cut it along its entire length using a hacksaw or jigsaw. Additionally, there is no need to install the lining with glue, since you will already have a durable and strong structure.

    Plastic lining

The principle of installing plastic lining on the ceiling will be the same as when laying wooden slats. The only difference will be that the first board of plastic lining and each subsequent one must be inserted into special guides for PVC panels. The guides have a groove in the shape of the letter “P” in which all the ends of the panels will be hidden.

Nowadays, ceiling plinths are often made that already initially have this groove. There are also collapsible design in the shape of the letter “G”, which consists of two parts. The first part is mounted before covering the frame with clapboard, and the second part is simply snapped into place at the end of the ceiling finishing. As a result, the overall ceiling level will be determined by the pre-assembled frame. But when installing the lining, it is necessary to ensure that all the strips fit more tightly to the installed guides and do not diverge from each other at the joints.

    Ceiling plinth

After the work on finishing the ceilings with clapboard is completed, you need to secure a corner or corner around the perimeter of your new ceiling. decorative plinth. The plinth will hide all the gaps between the walls and the lining. The baseboard is usually installed liquid nails. There are also special clips.

If there is a desire, the lining can be varnished in several layers, and also with the help of stain it can be given required ceiling shade. And only after that you can enjoy the view of your ceiling, the work on which can be considered completely finished. A lining ceiling is not only decorative decoration rooms, but also a lighter finishing option.
