Fm modulators for cars with aux. FM transmitter with built-in microphone, AUX input and USB sound card. Antenna socket

Hi Hi.

Today the review is dedicated to an absolutely necessary, my favorite, irreplaceable, cool thing in the form of a modulator for a car with a connectorAUX (I didn’t even know that such things existed, to be honest =O) - FM Modulator M-81.

Problem: The car only plays CDs and the radio. But I would like to have songs from my phone and a flash drive in the background so that the music plays continuously.

Solution: Modulator (or transmitter, as they are also called) with connector AUX.

Arriving at the store, I asked the seller for advice, to which I received an indication of a modulator from M-81 (either the company, or the model - the devil can tell these Chinese) (USB 5V/2.1A, MP3/WMA/AUX/USB- Flash/Display), costing only 500 rubles and a 2-month warranty.

It was packaged in a “sealed” box and included a short (15 centimeters) AUX cord. Also, on the advice of the seller, it was decided to purchase another AUX cord for better sound quality and convenient use.

Device dimensions: Length – 8 cm, Display width – 3.5 cm, Display height – 2.5 cm. Quite a compact device.

Principle of operation:

Option 1 - We insert it into the cigarette lighter ☛ select a wave free from the radio station ☛ save it on a convenient button ☛ insert a flash drive ☛ rattle off volume ☛ enjoy life.

Option 2- We insert it into the cigarette lighter ☛ insert the AUX cord ☛ connect a playing device to the other end of the wire ☛ chat volume ☛ enjoy life.

I don’t take it out of the cigarette lighter at all, so I skip the first step. When I insert the AUX cord, the modulator itself switches to aux mode.

Features of the device:

I have quite a lot of space next to the cigarette lighter, so almost any form of modulator will do, but this is not the case in all cars, so it's worth paying attention to. Due to its compactness, it will, of course, fit most car models, but, nevertheless, it’s worth trying it out.

Result of use. I've had the device for more than a month. There are no complaints about the work. The sound is as clear as possible (as possible when using FM modulators). When using a flash drive, the display shows the serial number of the track. To switch tracks there are buttons on the side of the modulator; you can see them in the photo above. When you connect the AUX cord, control (namely, switching tracks) of the music goes directly to the device from which it is played. Also, when listening via AUX, you can charge the device in the USB socket (convenient, however).

This is what the overall picture looks like. I agree that the flash drive spoils the look a little, but it doesn’t bother me at all; if you want, you can minimize the obvious eyesore.

Module features:
1. Three operating modes:

A. Connect to the computer - drivers are installed under Windows

a new audio output device appears

Under Linux on PC (Mint 64x) - a new device in the mixer

Next we broadcast the sound via FM. On other Linux systems (openwrt on routers, Debian on ARM (CubieTruck) - the module is not detected in any way - this is a serious problem.
If the module is connected to a computer, all other modes (microphone AUX input) are disabled.

B. If you simply apply power (by soldering the power wires or simply through the microusb connector without connecting to the computer), the device begins to broadcast all the sound from the microphone. The microphone on the board is not very sensitive - it does not pick up sound at a distance of more than 30 cm.

Q. If you simply apply power (by soldering the power wiring or simply through the microusb connector without connecting it to the computer) and apply an audio signal to the 3.5 mm AUX jack, then the audio signal from the linear input will go on air.

2. Nutrition. It's better to feed from lithium battery(and charge the battery from such a module -). Switching power supplies introduce noise. No interference was noticed from the computer.

3. The module remembers the data transmission frequency when the power is turned off. Using the buttons you can set any frequency from 87 MHz to 108 MHz. Step - 0.1 MHz.

4. Without an antenna - a range of two meters - with an external soldered antenna (a 75 cm long wire is recommended) - reliable transmission throughout the apartment - jams all radio stations - they promise open area up to 100 m with a normal receiver.

5. Buttons for volume control, pause, frequency setting

Here is such a module. It will be necessary to build it into a suitable case (maybe in this one - or look for another one - who will recommend something interesting - so that the charging module and battery fit)
With an external antenna (and an external antenna is a buzz) it plays very well.

Summer with the beginning summer season I'll voice it country cottage area(yours and neighbors) FM radio from your sound source.

Hi all.

In today's review we will talk about car FM transmitter, which I purchased on eBay.

It was ordered after purchasing the car, that is, when I did not yet know that the original Camry radio could be installed without special costs and it’s difficult to solder an AUX connector, which will work no worse than the factory one. But while the parcel was on the way, I not only found out all this, but also did it, so, by and large the transmitter has lost its relevance. True, only half. But first things first.

So, initially I was looking for a transmitter with an AUX connector so that I could connect an external player to it and be able to fully navigate through files and folders. So standard models with a connector only for a flash drive were not initially considered. The lot I ordered fully satisfied my needs.

The parcel spent about a month on the way. It was sent with a full track, so everyone can see all the information about its movement from China to Belarus.

The transmitter is supplied in original factory packaging, which is a plastic blister with a cardboard insert inside.

On the front side of the cardboard the advantages and features of the device inside are schematically depicted, and on the back side all this is written in words. True, only on English language. In addition to the transmitter, the package also includes a two-way 3.5 mm audio cable for connecting an external signal source. The length of the complete cable is about 30 centimeters.

The transmitter body is made of glossy black plastic, so it gets fingerprints pretty quickly. I have no special complaints about the overall quality of workmanship - nothing creaks, cracks, or falls off. The front part of the device (the one where the miniature LCD display is located and the AUX connector is sealed with shipping tape) protective film). The only pity is that there is no fuse in the design of the transmitter :(

According to the seller, our model has the following characteristics:
Black color;
Material: ABS;
Frequency range: 87.5-108.0 MHz;
Input: 12-24 V;
Output: 5V/2.1A;
Music format: mp3, WMA;
Package size: 13 * 10 * 3cm / 5 * 4 * 1.2in;
Package weight: 68g / 2.4oz.
And to be completely honest, almost everything that is written here is true :) Here I would like to explain why the title says “2 in 1”. This is exactly how the seller himself positions it, since in addition to the functions of a conventional transmitter, this device can also serve as a regular car charger. Moreover, according to the seller, charging can be carried out with a current of up to 2.1A.

Having turned on the transmitter into the cigarette lighter and using a USB tester, we see that the voltage is USB connector is 5.21V (no load), which is not too bad.

The Huawei P8 lite phone was used as a test subject. The charge current was only 0.43A. The maximum that I was able to see was 0.49A. Oh how far it is from the stated 2.1A :(

But since a lot depends on the phone, and my device is a technology fast charging does not have, then it would not be entirely fair to say that that’s all. Therefore, for more accurate results, an adjustable load was used. As it turned out, 2.1A is not the limit for the charging transmitter.

The maximum I could squeeze out of it was about 2.7A. True, even at 2.56A the voltage dropped to an unacceptable 3.39V. But at 2.1A it remained at 4.98V, which is far from the worst indicator for an automobile charger.

So, having dealt with one of the functions, you can move on to the second - checking the functionality of the transmitter. As I already said, there are 2 ways to play tracks - from a regular flash drive through an existing USB port. Only in this case can you forget about navigating through folders. You'll have to dump everything into the root and click all the tracks one by one. For this, by the way, there are 2 buttons on the right side of the device (they also change the FM frequency at which the transmission takes place).

For play/pause there is also a corresponding button, which is located on the left side of the transmitter. Next to it is a settings button.

In addition to switching tracks and adjusting the broadcast frequency, you can use the buttons to adjust the playback volume on the transmitter itself. The volume level ranges from 1 to 16. However, I did not find any sense in this function. Anyway, everyone on the transmitter will set the volume to maximum, and will adjust it on the radio.

The display also shows information about the status of the transmitter. Here is the inscription indicating that it is in charger mode: 150185706719848928310w.jpg
And here is information about activating AUX:

In general, no problems were noticed with the performance of the transmitter. True, I didn’t run tracks in wma format on it, and I don’t think anyone will need it. But mp3s are played without any problems. There are no freezes, no jams, no braking when switching tracks. Everything works flawlessly. As for the sound quality, I didn’t hear much noise here either. Moreover, they are absent both when the car is turned off and when the car is running. There may be those who consider this method of playing tracks to be a perversion, but not me. I'm not a big audiophile and the sound quality of my native acoustics suits me :)

Another plus is that the device is capable of working in 2 modes simultaneously. That is, you can simultaneously charge, for example, a phone via USB and play audio from it via AUX.

So overall, if I hadn't brought AUX out from head unit, then the purchase could be considered successful :) Now I can use it as a good charger and nothing more. But overall, I think this model The transmitter is quite good and has an optimal price/quality/functionality ratio.

That's all. Thank you for your attention and your time.
