Glass as a decorative element of pottery appeared 6 thousand years ago in Egypt and Ancient Babylon. For so long glass materials different compositions began to be used not only for decoration, household needs and as finishing material, but also in medicine and industry. Basic quality modern glass any kind - transparency. How to polish glass and return it to crystalline and clear when damaged?

Polishing is the removal of a thin layer of material using an abrasive, chemical reagents, physical-chemical or plasma methods, giving micro-roughness and shine to the glass surface.

How to polish glass

Grinding and polishing - different processes, which is confirmed electron microscopes. Polishing is considered a physicochemical phenomenon, as a result of which it is assumed that upper layer glass becomes plastic, so irregularities and tubercles turn into a continuous smooth surface.

When polishing glass at home, solutions of micropowders, which are passed through a fuel filter before use, and pastes are used. Glass polishing compounds can be industrial production and homemade.

GOI paste is a mixture of finely dispersed chromium oxide Cr2O3, active components and fatty ligaments.

The composition comes in four types according to the size of the “grain”: coarse - “erases” scratches, medium (of two types) smoothes, and fine - “edits” to a mirror shine. With GOI paste you can remove scratches on glass ceramics and polish any glass, even optical glass. How to use GOI paste:

It does not dissolve in water, but easily in purified gasoline. Therefore, felt, flannel or felt is lightly moistened with gasoline (or kerosene), and then GOI paste is applied.
Mineral oil is dripped onto the glass surface. And they begin processing.
Rotations should be soft, without sudden increases.

Experts in the manufacture of lenses for telescopes recommend washing the organic binder from abrasive particles with solvents to make polishing faster. But when rubbing organic glass This is not worth doing.

Chromium oxide has toxic properties. Its hardness is similar to corundum. Also contained in fiction oil paint"Chromium dioxide is green."

Crocus. It is made from iron (not copper!) yellow-brown sulfate, diluted with water and adding alkali. After filtration, the resulting precipitate is dried and used to polish light scratches. Crocus is used in ship repair work as a coloring pigment.
Cerium oxide - removes defects and abrasions on ceramics, glass-ceramic, quartz, and window glass. Polishes mirrors, watches, lenses, telephones, car windows, and portholes. Included in ready-made polishing compositions: Regipol, Cerox, “Polyrit”, “Cerite”, “Ftoropol”.
Diamond pastes and powders that are diluted with Vaseline and silicones are the most the best remedy, capable of polishing even. There are 12 types of ready-made pastes based on grain size.
Polishing pastes from car dealerships intended for polishing car glass. They stain less and are easy to use.
glass polishes: chalk, toothpaste without abrasive, a paste of soda and water or vinegar and mustard. According to reviews, they cannot level out scratches, but they can eliminate abrasions.

In order to remove scratches from glass surfaces, no matter what you start polishing with, first use pastes with a coarse “grain”, then fine ones. The following are used as polishing materials:

Soft cloth, felt, felt.
Leather (raw), suede.
Polyurethane.
Category polishing resin.
Cork tapes.
And even a tree.

It is recommended to polish glass with a grinder with manually adjustable speed, a drill, a grinding machine, attaching felt material to the disc and applying polishing paste. Or a special electric polishing pad.

Wooden blocks, rubber, fabric or cotton wool, covered first with leather and then with felt, are also suitable for processing, but you will have to spend a lot of effort and time on manual polishing.

How to polish glass and mirror

A number of types of glass are used in construction, differing in thickness and optical energy characteristics. High-quality window glass is colorless, with a high light transmittance. There are two types:

M4 - polished float glass, which is produced by casting a molten glass strip onto molten tin in a certain atmospheric environment and temperature.
M5 and M6 - made by the “old-fashioned” vertical method of drawing between rollers.

Heat-saving glasses are opaque; the reflective coating gives a slight “haze”. Laminated - have a tint. It is not advisable to polish them. Tempered glass it’s also better not to expose machining. Regular glass are transparent to optical radiation electromagnetic waves, for which they are valued. Minor damage to them does not affect the illumination, but spoils the aesthetics of the room and.

If the scratches are small, “hairline”, then you can try clear glass polish. If the grooves remain deep, they cling with a fingernail, or they are scale from the grinder, then it is better to change the double-glazed window. Since during processing the material will become thinner in one place and crack.

In double-glazed windows, thermopolished glass is more often used, on which, with additional grinding, a lens is formed, which will be visible in a visible place.

Just like window glass, mirrors are polished if they are damaged. outside. In this case, a “lens” effect may also occur. Sometimes, it is better to sandblast a design than to polish a mirror to remove scratches. But you should choose a picture so that the scratch is located on the border of the stencil image, because sandblasting will deepen the defect.

How to polish your car windows yourself

Minor scratches and dullness from abrasions on the glass surfaces of the car are polished with special pastes for automobile glass. Most of them are made according to the principle of GOI paste.

Owners of a “polisher” for a car will not experience any difficulties. The polishing machine is replaced with a drill or grinder. But there is a nuance. Side windows can also be polished at high speeds. But for multilayer windshields and rear windows, which have an adhesive and reinforcing layer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) inside, heating from intense friction is contraindicated, as it causes darkening.

How to polish car glass yourself:

Circle the defects from the inside so as not to lose damaged areas.
Cover parts of the body with protective material so as not to damage the paintwork.
The paste can be applied to glass using the same material that will be used for polishing.
Be sure to spray the surface with a spray bottle at the beginning of work and during the process to prevent the paste from drying out when heated by friction.
Polish areas at 1000 – 2500 rpm.
Before moving on to the next area, rinse the treated area and examine it thoroughly. different angles, including from the salon. If the result is not satisfactory, repeat the process. You may need to change the polishing compound.

When polishing car windows, wear safety glasses and clothing.

GOI paste was named after the initial letters of the place of invention - the State Optical Institute.

How to polish phone glass?

With scratched phone glass, do the same as with other glass surfaces: rub with GOI paste using soft suede or cotton napkins. In order not to contaminate the entire body, the screen is removed or the entire untreated area is covered with tape.

Recommended for scratched touch phones and polishing touch screens. special means, removing scratches from CDs. But they hide the damage rather than get rid of it. After a while, the procedure will have to be repeated. Please note that screen heating can damage the sensors.

Removing scratches from watch glasses and glasses

Before removing scratches from a watch glass, first determine the type. There are sapphire (including those with anti-reflective coating), mineral, plexiglass and combined (with an external sapphire coating). How softer material, the faster the scratches are removed. Cheap ones - it makes more sense to replace them than to polish them.

The most difficult to process - they are polished with diamond powders using grinder, and with anti-glare film - they are sent to professionals for repair.

The watch is disassembled for convenience, so as not to damage the case. And rub in a circular motion on a cloth coated with a polishing agent (or vice versa).

Do the same with glasses lenses, protecting the frames. First, of course, having figured out the material (mineral glass or polymer). You cannot polish prescription glasses yourself.

You can manually get rid of scuffs and dullness, and polishing scratches on any glass is more convenient and faster with a polishing machine. If you cannot get rid of defects, you can always contact a car repair shop, watchmakers or glaziers.

How to economically equip your country house and ensure that it is provided with all amenities? Let's try to help the summer resident solve this problem.

Double-glazed windows, LED bulbs, saving water when taking a shower - all this for city apartments. But what about the dacha? A lot of electricity in a roast summer time consumed by fans and air conditioners. There is a very simple solution: hide the house from the sun by planting a tree on the south side. Of course, there are some disadvantages here, since on a cloudy day there will be less light. An alternative could be climbing plants, such as ivy or grapes, which will protect from the sun and will not block the windows.

To make it brighter not only in the house, but also in basements, sheds and attics, lighten the walls and ceilings, illuminate the darkness of these rooms, unfairly painted in dark colors. Among the light walls, your mood improves, you can breathe easier, and it’s more pleasant to keep clean. By the way, about the light, which you need to remember to turn off when leaving, in order to save electricity.

So that you are not tormented by the thought of whether you turned off all the lights and electrical appliances after moving some distance from the dacha, there is one simple way. Place a single switch for the entire electrical network closer to the output, and you will only need one click to de-energize the entire system. In addition to these amenities, additional fire safety for your dacha will be provided. You will only need to provide a separate power supply for the refrigerator.

Interesting solution - solar collectors, which are almost widely used in southern countries for heating water. Thanks to them, you don't have to use electricity or gas to heat water for a shower or simply wash dishes. If the dacha serves as your home and winter months, you will have to take care of its heating. Do not under any circumstances spend money on electric heaters; this pleasure will cost you too much.

It is much more economical to install an electric or gas boiler to evenly distribute the generated heat.

Heat shields behind the batteries are, of course, advisable, but they are not best option. Warm floors are a completely different matter. Everyone knows that warm air rises up. From the battery it goes along the walls to the ceiling, and even if the batteries are hot, the air below will be cold and you will still have to put it on warm shoes. In the case of heated floors, a thermal air cushion is created throughout the room, and being in the room will be very cozy and comfortable.

And if you also purchase a heat pump for such floors, the budget savings will be more noticeable. True, in Russia such equipment is still exotic, but in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and other countries with cold winter it is used in 90 percent of homes. Energy consumption, compared to an electric boiler, is as much as 80 percent less, while producing the same amount of heat. The heat pump literally collects energy that is lying completely free under our feet. This is a refrigerator in reverse. The pump coil is placed at a depth that does not freeze in the given region; in the central part of Russia this is approximately 1 meter.

You can even bury the system in the garden, while the pump’s performance is noted at temperatures down to minus forty degrees, but at the output it will produce +60 ºС. It's interesting that in summer period the system is able to cool the air by drawing coolness from underground. Solar panels and wind generators are also a good way to save electricity. It is clear that there are not always sunny and windy days, therefore, if you have both sources of energy, you are guaranteed to receive it uninterruptedly. The only caveat is the slight noise of wind turbines, so choose a low-noise model where the wing blades can be adjusted, and place it a little further from the house.

If you decide to acquire such autonomous, economical energy sources, then there will definitely be a battery station that stores energy on windless or cloudy days. The programmable controller with which you equip it will make your home “smart,” as such a system is now commonly called, since the necessary switching will be carried out automatically. AND significant savings provided for you.

Frequent power outages or the inability to provide the dacha with uninterrupted power supply make you think about the issue of using alternative electricity. Existing options have their own strengths and weak sides. You can read more about this in the article.

Methods for organizing autonomous electricity for a summer residence

Many owners of dachas and private houses would not like to depend on central electrical supply for many reasons. This and high price electricity, and supply interruptions, frequent breakdowns transformers and the dependence of obsolete equipment on weather conditions. For these reasons, dacha owners are increasingly thinking about autonomous power supply. Before installing one of autonomous systems it is necessary to analyze everything, calculate the volume of electricity consumption in the house. Replacements need to be made lighting fixtures to more economical ones. After this, a decision is made on selecting the type of autonomous support.

When centralized energy supply is not suitable for some reason, it makes sense to consider autonomous options. Among autonomous sources Electricity supplies can be distinguished as follows:

  • solar panels;
  • wind power plants;
  • fuel generator sets;
  • hydroelectric power stations.

Before deciding which system to choose, you should carefully familiarize yourself with the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Solar panels for a summer residence

To save money you can use Alternative option, which is cheaper - converting solar energy into electricity. The solar battery in this case is a converter.

Solar panels are a DC generator, inverters are connected to them, converting D.C. into variable. Connected in parallel and in series they produce current and voltage. This allows the solar battery to operate uninterruptedly. Diodes prevent the battery from discharging or overheating. Batteries store energy; a resistor controls charge, preventing excess power from being used.

The basic solar battery kit is presented:

Main advantages of use solar panels in the following:

  • practicality and durability of service;
  • no additional costs during operation;
  • endless natural reserves are being consumed;
  • minimum maintenance;
  • high coefficient useful action;
  • work in silent mode;
  • safety for nature.

There are details that call the priority of using solar panels into question:

  • dependence on the weather, namely sunlight;
  • considerable cost of construction;
  • engineering skills during installation.

Exist different types solar panels:

  • made of monocrystalline silicon - very reliable, with a long service life, but due to special properties quite expensive compared to other types of batteries;
  • from multicrystalline silicon - enough long term service, about thirty years, with good efficiency indicators;
  • from polycrystalline silicon - average term service, efficiency is lower than that of previous types;
  • thin-film batteries - inexpensive, for areas with cloudy weather and a small number of sunny days, the battery is based on a special light-absorbing film;
  • made of amorphous silicon - the efficiency indicators are low, but the batteries are based on photoelectric converters, which make it possible to produce inexpensive electricity;
  • from cadmium telluride - thanks to film technology, the efficiency is quite high, the price is lower than that of silicon batteries.

Batteries are:

  • low-power - ensure the operation of the main household appliances and home lighting;
  • universal - in addition to lighting, heating of most of the house;
  • high-power - cover all electricity and heat consumption costs.

Solar batteries are used in various fields and industries:

  • supply of light to residential premises and public organizations;
  • providing energy for various equipment;
  • street lighting;
  • space industry;
  • automotive industry.

The positive aspects of using solar panels to provide heat to a home are the following:

  • there is no need to burn wood, coal, briquettes and this makes it possible to significantly save money and not pollute the environment;
  • this heating method will not cause a fire;
  • batteries can function even with little sunlight;
  • the design is independent of the power system;
  • the system is automated.

Is installing solar panels justified for a private home or cottage? As observations and user reviews show, yes. Especially if they are installed in an area with predominantly sunny weather. During periods of intense sunshine, heating and lighting costs can be covered in full, winter period about eighty percent of the energy is covered by solar energy. Saving electricity at the dacha allows you to save your budget.

Do-it-yourself windmill for a summer residence

There are several options for wind turbines:

  • horizontal;
  • vertical;
  • turbine.

They have differences and similarities, positive and negative sides, but the principle of operation is the same for all - converting wind energy into electricity, storing it in batteries and using it for needs.

A properly positioned windmill makes it possible to receive wind energy regardless of direction, only its speed is important.

The operating principle of a windmill for a summer residence is not complicated. The wind blows on the blades, a generator is attached to the rotor, and generation is generated in its windings. electricity. It accumulates in batteries and allows you to power electrical appliances. Sometimes a kit with a wind generator and a solar panel is installed.

The wind turbine includes:

  • rotor;
  • gearbox;
  • protective case;
  • tail blade;
  • energy storage battery;
  • voltage transformer;
  • inverter

Positive aspects of using a wind generator for your home:

  • material costs only for equipment maintenance;
  • smooth operation of the wind farm does not require control or intervention;
  • productive operation of a wind turbine is possible almost throughout the entire country;
  • low wear of parts.

Disadvantages of using a windmill:

  • high noise level of the operating device;
  • requires installation of a lightning rod;
  • grounding required;
  • mandatory installation of a warning light;
  • the likelihood of damage to windmill parts during strong hurricane winds.

The most common type of wind turbine is horizontal. It is easy to make at home and the efficiency of this windmill is quite high. The disadvantage of the design is the need for wind speeds above five meters per second for it to work.

As the experience and feedback from users of alternative energy supply shows, wind generators are promising and make it possible to partially or fully cover the costs of energy use.

Fuel generators for summer cottages

Fuel generators can help resolve a number of issues related to the following circumstances:

  • supply of electricity to illuminate the home at night;
  • for the operation of household appliances;
  • pumping water from a well or watering a site.

This is very important for houses cut off from the power supply system after hurricanes, as a result of breakdowns and blackouts during various emergency situations. Can for a long time sit around waiting restoration work, or you can turn on the generator and continue going about your business. The generator ensures an uninterrupted supply of electricity. The generators differ in their basic characteristics, but have the same design.

The advantages of using generators are as follows:

  • guarantee of results - electricity;
  • compact size and easy to carry;
  • ease of operation;
  • profitability - the energy generated by the device is cheaper than that purchased from the state.

Main types of generators:

  • petrol;
  • diesel.

By type of work there are:

  • synchronous generator;
  • asynchronous generator.

Accommodation on site summer cottage Without electricity it is currently impossible. In order not to be left without electricity at the most inopportune moment, you can use a generator.

Green system for a summer residence

If you are categorically unhappy with your heating and electricity bills, or you live far from civilization, and running electricity is very expensive, it’s time to think about autonomous power supply. In Ukraine, the well-known company “Green System” proposes to start using natural springs. The company’s specialists will help you design, calculate and select optimal system just for you.

The green tariff is a tariff for electricity from private individuals and the state pays the private owner for this surplus. In fact, it turns out that the accumulated solar energy is generated in excess, the excess goes into the general network, and as a result, the individual makes a profit. Everything needs to be done correctly, for this you need:

  • buy and install a solar battery;
  • provide notification letters and connection diagram;
  • coordinate the scheme with Oblenergo;
  • issue an invoice for payment of services;
  • launch the panel within five days after payment has been completed;
  • draw up a deed - a purchase and sale agreement for electricity.

Homemade power plant for a summer residence

If you are remote from power sources, you have to come up with construction options yourself home power station. These structures are most often based on sources of income alternative energy: wind, sun, water. Buying a factory copy of a power plant is sometimes very expensive and the options offered do not always satisfy the buyer. In this case, you should take into account the option self-made power generation stations.

To create a wind power plant with your own hands, you need to create a wind engine system, connect a generator and activate the energy storage system. For a home power generation station, it is more advisable to use options with horizontal or vertical rotor rotation. System with vertical rotation easier to construct: a shaft to which parallel blades are attached. Materials suitable for the blade are: sheet iron. They should be bent in the shape of an arc and attached to the shaft. Sometimes an additional mechanism is used to change the angle of the blades during operation, thereby adjusting air resistance. This helps to avoid destruction of the windmill in the presence of very strong wind. An autonomous energy saving scheme will help you build the structure correctly.

A homemade solar power plant involves connecting a solar battery directly to a system for accumulating and consuming electricity. The most expensive part of this design are solar panels. It is necessary to correctly connect the parts of the station, protect Solar cells, placing the structure in a special compartment. The station should be installed in the very suitable place, where the energy of sunlight will be maximum.

The main advantage of a water power plant is the independence of energy production from weather conditions, as with solar and wind power plants. Receiving water energy is stable. But you should still install a system for storing the generated energy. To build the structure you need to purchase the following parts:

  • paddle installation;
  • electric generator;
  • connector

A car shaft can be used as a generator. At the end of the article you can watch a video on how to independently provide power to your dacha.

Inefficient power supply, power outages, frequent transformer breakdowns or power outages will no longer be a problem with an alternative power supply at home. Having studied the pros and cons of each type of structure, you can decide on the advisability of installing any device for accumulating energy from natural sources.

Electricity prices are rising every year, so most consumers have begun to think about how to save electricity and meet the volume of its consumption at minimum tariffs.

Let's look exclusively at those methods that are associated with the least discomfort for consumers and make an average calculation of energy savings for each individual method per person per month.

General principles of energy saving

To save energy in your home effectively and efficiently, you should first of all focus on the most energy-intensive appliances. To do this, let’s analyze the average values of electricity consumption by individual household appliances. Of course, these values will depend on individual consumption and on the preferences of the individual resident, but in general we will get general idea about which devices are the most energy-intensive.

Electrical appliances

Consumption per month, kW*hour

Electric shaver
Hairdryer
Iron
DVD player
Fluorescent Lamp
Laptop
Electric kettle
Vacuum cleaner
Incandescent lamp
Washing machine
Refrigerator, class A
TV (with LCD monitor)
Computer (with LCD monitor)
Dishwasher
TV (with kinescope)
Microwave
Electric stove
Instantaneous heater or boiler

As a result, we can conclude that, for example, replacing a TV with a picture tube with a flat-screen TV will save approximately 17 kWh of energy consumption per month, and will also increase the convenience of viewing it.

Having analyzed the values of electricity consumption, you can move on to ways to save it in practice.

Optimal use of electrical appliances and other ways to save

Saving energy by preheating water in the sun

The largest (after heating) item of electricity consumption in a dacha is heating water (in the absence of gas boiler). The energy consumption for providing hot water supply can even be equal to the energy consumption of all other appliances. Therefore, using solar energy to heat water, even with the most primitive solar heaters, will lead to noticeable savings– up to 37 kW*hour.

Saving energy by rational use of an electric stove

An electric stove (single burner) has an average power of 1000 to 2500 W. That's why efficient use electric stoves will lead to noticeable savings. In order to heat water as efficiently as possible, it is necessary to use dishes with a lid and a flat bottom, as well as dishes that match the size of the heating surface of the stove. This will avoid extra costs heat and save approximately 6 kWh per month.

Saving energy using an electric kettle versus an electric stove

If we compare the volume of water that needs to be heated with an electric kettle and on an electric stove of the same power, then heated (even completely) electric stove will heat water to boiling point 20 percent slower. And all because an electric kettle has an order of magnitude higher useful efficiency. Therefore, it is recommended to heat the water to a boil for subsequent cooking in an electric kettle. This will significantly speed up cooking and save about 3 kWh.

Saving energy using small electric kettles

When using an electric kettle, only fill it with what is needed. this moment water volume. Boiling water that is not used will simply cool down, and the energy spent on its preparation will be wasted. That's why, electric kettles a small volume is much more effective. This method will save 2 kWh per month.

Saving energy with proper space planning

It is not advisable to place the refrigerator near heating devices, radiators, or in the area of direct sun rays. This will result in poor cooling and increase the operating time of the refrigerator. This placement of the refrigerator will save approximately 3.5 kWh.

Save energy by turning off unused appliances

All Appliances, which is not disconnected from the network when it is turned off, is in standby mode and also has, albeit small, electricity consumption. Namely:

Energy consumption is of course small, but taking into account long-term downtime, as well as the number of these devices, it adds up to a pretty penny. For example, complete shutdown Using only five household appliances from the network allows you to save 7 kWh in one month.

Saving energy during washing

The washing machine heats up the water before starting the wash, which also leads to certain energy costs. In this regard, you can significantly reduce power consumption if you select a washing mode with optimal temperature heating water. This will reduce electricity consumption per month to 8 kW*hour.

Saving energy using energy-saving lamps

Many people are still put off by the prices of energy-saving light bulbs. But this approach was valid as long as electricity was not so expensive. Today, an energy-saving lamp fully pays for itself in just a year of use, and allows you to save about 11 kWh per month.

As a result, only these simple ways to save electricity lead to a significant reduction (by 77.5 kWh) in monthly electricity costs and, accordingly, significantly save your budget.

The most ordinary economy and enterprise allows us to do a lot, especially if we're talking about about the dacha. Therefore, today we are studying practical techniques that will help us become economical summer residents.

  • Saving water at the dacha
  • Saving money at the dacha and practicality
    • Everything at the dacha with your own hands
    • We turn “air” into money

Our article will not contain complex or abstruse things, but only what we encounter every day on the territory own plot. Due to constant busyness, fatigue and many distractions, we don’t even pay attention to how we can seriously simplify our life. Judge for yourself, the same greenhouse from plastic bottles, flowerbeds made of tires or a fence made of wheels... not everyone thought about this. These materials most often end up in the trash, but they can become a real find.

Our article on the topic of economy and practicality in the country is real social material, which we encourage all readers to study and supplement. We even have hopes that we will be able to create our own little country Wikipedia, right here in the comments, where each of you can submit own idea, and thereby make the life of thousands of summer residents easier, more interesting and more fun. Well, then, let's get started!

Saving water at the dacha

A sore point, especially when the site large sizes. We need to water the vegetable garden, garden, flower beds, supply water to the greenhouse and a small school with young bushes, don’t forget to irrigate country paths from the dust that stands like a pillar... Having calculated the total water consumption, you immediately understand that almost 30-40% goes in an unknown direction, and therefore watering needs to be optimized as much as possible.

We learn to save water at the dacha - we water only the plants, turn off the water after using the shower and sink.

Firstly, high-quality taps, pipes and filters, connections and mains, which will reduce water losses and will fully pay for themselves in a year or two. Secondly, correct use water in the country - drip irrigation for vegetable gardens and greenhouses, manual, economical and strictly targeted watering in the garden, where water is needed specifically by the trees, and not the entire soil.

In addition, basic water savings include timely shutoff of water in the shower, sink, and even when watering. According to statistics, up to 20% of losses are concentrated on this factor.

Saving electricity at the dacha

Electrical energy is expensive, and we spend an enormous amount of it. Heating the house and heating water, cooking and washing things, operating pumps in wells and swimming pools, basic lighting of the cottage and decorative lighting garden

Of course, just turning off the lights is the easiest way, but this is not saving, but mocking oneself, and therefore we are looking for practical ways savings.

  • Firstly, install energy-saving lamps, but not cheap ones, otherwise you can get the opposite effect (cheap fakes burn out quickly, but are expensive).
  • Secondly, use natural coolants- the water in the shower heats up well in the tank in the sun, if it is of high quality, and the house is also heated with wood, provided there is a potbelly stove or stove.
  • Thirdly, there is always the possibility of cooking a variety of delicacies over the fire - shurpa, fish soup, smoky soups, grilled vegetables and meat, shish kebab, smoking and so on.

What do you think about the installation idea? windmill or solar panels in the country. Of course, such a step will have to be carefully considered, and you will have to spend money in the first stages, but then you can save a significant amount of money!

Saving electricity is a serious issue for many of us, and therefore it’s worth thinking about... perhaps using electric pumps less often, dynamic lighting of the area, using rechargeable batteries in the country, etc.

Saving money at the dacha and practicality

By saving water and electricity, we save money that we do not spend and use not to pay bills, but to own use- for seedlings, seeds, fertilizers and so on, but the money itself that we have saved can be learned not to be spent, and even multiplied.

In this section, we would like to focus on a lot of things, but gradually, because you yourself have noticed some points more than once, but have never taken them into account as an opportunity to save!

Practicality of using nature

Let's say there is a river or pond, waterfall or stream near the dacha. This is where you can always find gravel for small country house construction(gazebos, supporting walls, barbecue, etc.). In addition, there are large stones that are suitable for paving, decorating lawns, and creating flower beds.

Near the water you can also find clay, which is not only an excellent binding material, but also a plastic mass for repairing houses, sheds, and other buildings in the country.

There are always a lot of plants near a river or other body of water that can be transferred to country pond, in order not to spend money on them, you can also take sand from here for construction, if there is any on the shore. And what’s most interesting is that if a body of water is nearby, you can draw water from it.

Any ditch or small ravine in the countryside becomes natural and natural compost pit, in which you can prepare long-lasting compost from branches and wood chips. You can also throw away organic waste here without bothering with removal and without incurring transportation costs.

Using construction waste for good

Here, too, I want to establish order so as not to get confused.

So, a collapsed barn can become a donor of boards and timber for a new one. Not all of the material will be usable, but some of it can definitely be useful. If not, boards and logs can be used for sawdust and free mulch, to make, say, the same compost. In addition, from some elements it will be possible to build boundary fences at the dacha, put wood into the fireplace or barbecue, instead of expensive firewood.

Any old metal arch, fence or frame of something easily becomes a “supplier” of scrap metal for the construction of small architectural forms, vertical flower beds, helps organize supports for plants and seedlings, which in a new form in stores and on the market are quite expensive. In addition, if there is a lot of metal at your dacha, try to set aside a day to properly cut it, weigh it and recycle it. Better you than someone else in your absence!

The broken stone and brick left after construction becomes excellent material for filling in construction, creating cushions for light foundations, as well as for drainage, which we need very often. Sand, crushed stone, screenings and small waste can also be used for country houses, fill holes with similar garbage, dry dirt and puddles in the country.

Plastic and glass bottles are also considered garbage, but are found excellent application on the territory of the dacha. Original crafts, decorating houses and flower beds, creating all kinds of exclusive solutions based on them, and so on. Remember the cost of a greenhouse made from plastic bottles or an urn, which will cost you a lot on the market.

Everything at the dacha with your own hands

We all know electricians and plumbers, builders and ordinary workers who are ready to charge us for certain services. But if you think about it constructively, you and I can do almost everything on our own. We built gazebos and insulated verandas, renovated the house and installed windows in the dacha, collected sectional fences and installed the gates. In addition, not so long ago we talked about water supply to the dacha, sewerage and lighting, and raised topics about the construction of barbecues and stoves. Greenhouses are not a question for us at all, awnings and country furniture are given very simply, so why pay people for work that we can do at the dacha ourselves? Is this not the main treatise of saving?

We turn “air” into money

In fact, we will not sell air, but will only offer you some options not only for saving, but also for making money at the dacha... after all, this is practicality, isn’t it?

Selling berries and fruits is understandable, but you can also sell seedlings, greens from greenhouses, and the remains of seedlings. Or you can grow it all at once for sale, for example, by making a winter thermos greenhouse, growing dill and parsley on the windowsill.

Sell vegetables, fruits and herbs, do not let them simply and “free” rot on the ground or on trees.

We have already talked about scrap metal, but let us remind you again - if you have it, urgently put it into construction or sell it for money. As usual, expensive “garbage” at the dacha, left unattended, does not stay in place for long.

Another option for making money is selling firewood. For example, you remove old garden for renovation, but you can’t find a use for the logs. You can spend a day sawing the harvested trees into several cubic meters of firewood and selling it to your neighbors.

If not, our articles on creating rutaries and decorating stumps and logs will be useful. If you want, you can always make a wonderful thing for your garden with your own hands, and then sell it for money.

One of the ways to save electrical energy (video)

We have presented you only a small part ways which will help not only save on the dacha, but also earn . Let's help each other, share comments, use our own knowledge and experience not only for the benefit of ourselves, but also of other summer residents, because we have no competition, only support!!!
