It's always nice to have garden plot oven for cooking shish kebab, pilaf and fried meat. At the same time, I want it to be not only functional, but also beautiful. A brick structure will look especially impressive. You can fold it yourself.

The difference between barbecue and grill

Shashlik - favorite dish Russians on vacation. The easiest way to grill shish kebab is to use a disposable grill and skewers. But it is much more convenient and civilized to do this at the dacha, in a created with my own hands more complex device. All such devices - grill, barbecue, barbecue - are very helpful to the country cook, and differ only in some design features.

Grill, grill and barbecue are designed for frying meat, poultry, fish, vegetables and mushrooms over coals. They differ only in the complexity of their design and additional capabilities.

Brazier

This is the simplest frying device: rectangular metal box on legs without coal grate. Smoldering coals lie right at the bottom of the grill, and the heat from them is directed from bottom to top. On the side walls on top there are recesses for skewers, and in the lower part there are perforations to create traction. It is often foldable and does not have a lid. The easiest way to take it with you on a picnic or hiking trip along with skewers or a grill.

Grill

The grill is distinguished by the fact that it has a charcoal grate and a lid, which provides heat from all sides, not just from below. But if you put it aside, the unit will work like a regular barbecue. In the grill, you can regulate the air flow to the coals and the product being fried, for which there are dampers in the lower and upper parts. Sometimes it is equipped with an umbrella to catch falling embers. The lid is a very necessary thing. Firstly, the speed of cooking increases; Secondly, ready dish It turns out more stewed than fried, which means it’s more healthy.

B-B-Q

There is still a lot of controversy about the word “barbecue”. It still seems the most best interpretation Its origin is from the French “barbe et queue” - “from beard to tail”. Initially, it was not pieces that were fried on the grill, but whole lambs or piglets. In Russian, this device received the affectionate name “barbecue”. Barbecue differs from barbecue in that it has more complex device. There, like in an oven, there is a grate for coal, which ensures good draft, and a grate for the product that is to be fried. Like the barbecue, the barbecue does not have a lid. It's more complex and expensive device. Ready-made “mobile” barbecues are widely sold, which are a metal structure on high legs, often with a roof and additional folding shelves. They are inconvenient because in bad weather it is advisable to remove them from the site. In more expensive models, the distance between the grate for the product and the grate with coals can be changed, which allows you to regulate the intensity of the heat and makes cooking very easy. The heat in a barbecue is also directed from bottom to top.

But often the word “barbecue” is used to describe a large structure on a site, a “garden fireplace.” Typically, it is built of brick or stone, with a substantial roof and a preparation table. Often a cauldron (cauldron) and a sink are inserted into the “garden fireplace” for washing meat and vegetables.

General structure of a barbecue oven with a cauldron

A cauldron is a round cauldron made of cast iron. Aluminum cauldrons are undesirable; they burn out quite quickly and do not hold the correct temperature.

You can cook anything you like in a cauldron on site, but the optimal dishes are pilaf and cauldron kebab. IN ordinary kitchen They are difficult to prepare - the odors are too unpleasant and intense when the oil is heated.

A brick oven with a cauldron is universal: if you remove the cauldron, you can fry shish kebab; if you try to lay out the round tray evenly and neatly, you can use it as a tandoor; If the round hole is covered with a cast iron sheet with burners, you can fry in frying pans and cook in pots on them.

A barbecue oven can be built on open veranda, having previously taken care of insulating the floor You can build a roof over the barbecue complex, which will allow you to cook outdoors even in rainy weather The barbecue oven can be made in any shape and style Country style barbecue looks impressive in the garden The barbecue oven can be made in a corner, it all depends on preferences Outdoor oven small size can be very convenient and functional A brick barbecue oven can be finished with a a natural stone A barbecue oven can be compact, with a small firebox

You can build a barbecue oven with your own hands if you follow the sequential guide, or “order”.

What is "order"

The word has two meanings:

Before you start brickwork stove, you need to draw a sketch of the future structure The stove for the cauldron can be made miniature, consisting of 13 rows of brickwork Most common model brick oven- two-story design with a compartment for storing firewood under combustion chamber The ceiling under the cauldron can be placed directly under the exhaust chamber A brick oven can combine several functions: barbecue, smokehouse and barbecue

Preparing to build a barbecue with a cauldron

Before you start building a stove, you need to decide on the location of its installation, sketch out a sketch of the future model and select suitable material for masonry.

Location determination

The stove should not be placed under trees or close to a flammable fence. It is optimal to place it close to your favorite place to eat on the site. The area should be large, then it will be convenient to cook. If desired, you can build a stove with a sink, then you need to supply water and sewage to it. If this is difficult, then the stove is placed near the garden water tap.

Material selection

The barbecue oven can be made of river stone (this is very beautiful), expanded clay blocks or ordinary red brick. But surfaces in contact with fire are laid out from special fire-resistant bricks, because all the materials listed above cannot withstand the high temperature in a barbecue or under a cauldron and crack. The same applies to masonry mortar. Places where the flames burn are laid out on special composition. The solution for the rest of the kiln is also specific: cement will not withstand even low temperatures, so instead of the cement part of the solution, clay is used.

Model Definition

Before calculating the amount of building material, you need to decide on the model " garden fireplace" The following aspects should be taken into account:

  • dimensions of the barbecue oven; if the structure is massive, it will need a foundation;
  • location;
  • the shape of the combustion chamber;
  • shape and size of the chimney;
  • additional elements such as a cauldron, sink, oven.

We chose a complex stove to build. This is a barbecue grill with a cooking stove and a cauldron, a project by master Valentin Brui called “Stonehenge”.

Calculation of the number of bricks

The calculation of the material is done after selecting a model with an ordering diagram. Counts approximate quantity bricks in each row, their type (refractory, silicate, ordinary) and shape are taken into account. Approximate calculations are made as follows: count the bricks in the first, continuous row; the resulting number is multiplied by the number of rows and the so-called filling factor. For barbecue ovens it is 0.65. We take into account that approximately 15% of bricks will be scrapped; this number must be increased to 30% if cutting bricks is planned. At the same time they break.

Table: calculation of material requirements

Table: required tools

Foundation preparation

Before starting brickwork, it is necessary to prepare the foundation for the future furnace.

  1. For the foundation, use pegs and thread to mark the required area with a margin of 1 meter on each side. Before the oven, you can make a much larger reserve.

    The required area for the foundation can be marked using pegs and thread

  2. Dig a pit 30–50 cm deep. Considering the size and weight of the stove, you should not strip foundation, and the stove.
  3. Place a layer of crushed stone or gravel about 10 cm high at the bottom of the pit; compact the layer tightly.
  4. Reinforce the foundation with a grid of metal rods to make it more reliable.
  5. Prepare the solution: 1 part cement to 2 parts sand, mix well, pour at once to avoid cracks. Allow the slab to harden well.

    The foundation must be poured in one go to avoid cracks.

  6. After the mixture has dried, cover the slab with roofing felt, preferably in two layers, to ensure waterproofing.

    For waterproofing, the hardened slab must be covered with roofing felt in two layers.

Ordinary brick must be soaked in water before laying, otherwise it will absorb water from the mortar, and the mortar will dry out quickly and be weak.

Sometimes brick is used instead of concrete for the foundation. Concrete foundation more durable and cheaper, but brick is easier to fold and dismantle if necessary.

Brickwork order

We place ordinary bricks on a mixture of clay and sand, since cement mortar will not withstand the temperature. We try to maintain the width of vertical and horizontal seams at 10 and 5 millimeters, respectively. When laying refractory bricks - 3 millimeters. The refractory brick is placed on fireclay mortar (a heat-resistant mixture of fireclay powder and refractory clay).

  1. Row one. We make three empty seams (marked in blue) for inserting door frames into them - two cleaning ones and one blower.

    In the first row of the furnace body it is necessary to provide space for doors

  2. In the second row we lay those bricks on which the arch of the place for firewood should rest. Let's wait for the rest - it's impossible to put them in without doors, and the doors will get in the way.

    The second row of the body is not yet fully laid out

  3. We make a support for the vault from plywood, which is called a “circle”.

    The “circle” is made of plywood, bricks are laid on it

  4. We lay out an arch in a circle. You can grind off the bricks on one side, or you can make a semicircle by thickening the mortar.

    The semicircle shape for the firewood arch can be achieved by thickening the mortar

  5. We place the base of the firebox made of refractory bricks on the fireclay mixture.

    The base of the firebox is made of refractory bricks

  6. We cover the firebox, first row, with shaped refractory bricks. This is a blow chamber.

    Covering the firebox with shaped fire bricks

  7. We lay the second row of the combustion unit. It turns out to be a cylinder. The bricks are sawn on one side.

    The second row of the firebox resembles Stonehenge, after which the stove is named

  8. We put the third row. The bricks also need to be sawn on one side.

    To ensure that the bricks form a cylindrical shape when laying, they are sawed off on one side

  9. Using sawn refractory bricks, we proceed to the first row of lining.

    The lining is also made from refractory bricks

  10. We lay the next, second, row of lining, carefully observing the proportions.

    In the second row of lining we try to carefully maintain the proportions

  11. In the third row we continue the lining, gradually forming a circle along the inner walls.

    We continue the order, gradually forming a circle

  12. We build a ceiling under the cauldron using fireclay bricks. At the same time, we file the bricks on one side to form a circle.

    The ceiling under the cauldron is constructed from refractory bricks

  13. We leave a gap of 1 centimeter between the lining and the body, since refractory brick has a higher expansion coefficient than regular brick.
  14. We wrap the refractory part with insulation for stoves - this is foil-coated basalt cardboard. Then the casing made of ordinary brick will not heat up, so there will not be much heat loss.

    The insulation serves to thermally insulate the firebox and control thermal expansion

  15. After completing the firebox, we lay the third row of the stove, also made of cut-to-shape bricks.

    We begin laying the third row of the furnace body after completion of the firebox

  16. We place the fourth row of the stove. We install a blower door and put a locking brick on top.

    We complete the installation of the blower door, blocking its opening with locking bricks

  17. We place the fifth row and install the combustion door in it.

    In the fifth row we begin installation combustion door

  18. In the sixth row we create a horizontal smoke channel. Before closing, we carefully clean the channel of debris, then line the bottom with film so that the “spit” of the solution can be easily removed later.

    In the sixth row we block the horizontal smoke channel

  19. Row seven. Using bricks placed on edge, we begin to build the rear firebox.

    In the seventh row we begin to lay the back part of the firebox

  20. We place the eighth and ninth rows according to the order. In the ninth row, we close the hole in the combustion door with a locking brick.

    In the ninth row of the building, we block the fire door opening with a locking brick

  21. In the tenth row, using thin pieces of brick, we align the level of the vertical with the horizontal. We create the base of the grill.

    In the tenth row, use thin plates to level the level vertically standing bricks with ordinary

  22. We do not place the eleventh row completely. Pay attention to the rounded edges of the tabletop. The top of the table top is sanded.

    To give an aesthetic appearance, the ends of the bricks forming the edges of the tabletop are rounded, and the upper layers of bricks are polished

  23. Next, under the future cauldron, place on washed and sifted sand cast iron stove. It should be flush with the bricks.

    The slab must be flush with the surface of the bricks forming the countertop and perfectly horizontal

  24. We form a barbecue knot. We lay the perimeter of refractory bricks and line it with insulation.

    The construction of a lining for a barbecue unit begins with the perimeter of the hearth

  25. When the solution has hardened well, we place refractory bricks on dry, washed and sifted sand. The fact that they are not fixed with a solution helps to get rid of thermal deformation.

    The absence of rigid fixation of hearth bricks with mortar promotes their mobility and reduces the influence of thermal deformations on the structure of the barbecue

  26. From the twelfth to the fourteenth row we lay the barbecue, forming a pit for coals. Its depth should be 130–140 cm. Between 13 and 14, as well as 14 and 15, we make grooves in the fireclay brick next to each other for a frame for attaching skewers.

    If necessary, the depth of the barbecue pit can be reduced by dismantling the hearth bricks and adding a layer of sand under them

  27. On the fifteenth day we complete the barbecue pit.

    Between 13 and 14, as well as 14 and 15 next to each other, grooves were selected in the fireclay brick for a frame for attaching skewers

  28. We cover the grill and create a smoke barb - two arches made of refractory brick. The base of the rear arch is two rows higher than the base of the front arch.

A gazebo with a stove is a very convenient design. Many people would like to have such a structure on their site. Meanwhile, building it yourself is not particularly difficult. It is important to get it right at the first stage. There are several types of gazebo stoves from a functional point of view. In such designs you can stew meat, smoke food, or even cook soups.

We will talk further about the advantages and disadvantages of all these varieties. We will also look at the technology for constructing a barbecue stove with a smokehouse for a gazebo.

Types of stoves for gazebos

So, ? Most often within these country houses fireplaces, cauldrons and mini Russian stoves are installed.

Oven brazier

Main hallmark grill is that meat is fried on it using skewers. Stationary structures of this type are erected together with a gazebo and are usually installed against the far wall. Very often combined with a smokehouse.

Photo of the stove for the gazebo. Brick grill - the design is usually not too complicated

IN ready-made gazebo It’s easier to install an iron brazier stove. Such portable structures They are also quite convenient and do not take up much space. Sometimes metal constructions This type is covered with bricks.

Metal grill oven with cauldron and countertop

BBQ oven

A stationary barbecue stove for a gazebo is also built from brick and is very similar in appearance to a barbecue. However, in this case, grates, rather than skewers, are used for frying. Of course, the cooking process itself becomes more convenient, since there is no need to waste time on cutting the meat. But cleaning the grill is more difficult than skewers.

On a note: A very convenient type of stationary barbecue oven are designs supplemented work area- countertop and sink.

Portable barbecues are most often installed in the center of the gazebo and have round shape. Hoods are also hung above them. The latter are attached on a chain to the ceiling beams. Such a gazebo with a fireplace in the center will certainly also be very comfortable.

Round barbecues are usually installed in the center and equipped with a hood

Russian stove for gazebo

Another very common type of gazebo stove is the Russian mini-stove. The main advantage of this design is its versatility. Building a Russian stove in a gazebo means getting the opportunity not only to fry kebabs. You can also stew meat in it, make pancakes, cook soups, etc. Most of all this the type is suitable, of course, for such a structure as a Russian gazebo.

Mini Russian stove for a gazebo - the equipment to construct is quite complex

Other varieties

Enough interesting guy The stove for the gazebo is a cauldron. It is usually a rectangular brick structure with a hole at the top into which a round cup is inserted - a cauldron. Such ovens are intended for cooking pilaf.

A fireplace stove for a gazebo can become very suitable design in the event that it is intended to be made in winter. These are actually very convenient.

Enclosed gazebos with a fireplace stove - cozy and practical structures

Another interesting type of gazebo stove is the grill stove. Today you can buy a portable one in the store gas version on wheels.

On a note: A very popular design is the prefabricated stove complex. These could be, for example, gazebos with a stove and barbecue, or a smokehouse, a cauldron, etc.

A prefabricated stove complex can be installed in a large gazebo

Construction of a barbecue with a smokehouse

  • Construction of a wood shed.
  • Assembling a roaster-smokehouse.
  • Construction of a chimney.
Important: At the first stage, the grill itself is assembled. already around him.

The grill for the gazebo has a fairly simple design

Rules for drafting a project

They begin to build a stove for a gazebo with their own hands by developing a project. It must be compiled in such a way as to minimize the risk of fire.

According to regulations, there must be at least three meters in front of the grill firebox. free space. On the sides - at least 1 m. The wooden parapet of the gazebo at the rear should be located at least 25 cm from the barbecue.

Of course, the stove itself should be designed in such a way that it is as convenient to use as possible.

Advice: The stove log must have a height of at least 45cm. The optimal height is considered to be 70-90cm. If you want to use the grill as a smokehouse, you should raise the firebox to 90cm.

The easiest way to download such a stove is on the Internet. Of course, drawings with dimensions are also included in the projects.

The order of the barbecue is attached to the project

Construction of the foundation

Furnaces for – the designs are quite massive. Therefore, it is necessary to build a foundation for them. For a brick barbecue, a slab barbecue is best. Under it, a hole 35 cm deep is dug in the ground so that it is 10 centimeters wider than the woodshed on all sides.

It is worth building a slab foundation for the barbecue

The formwork can be made from plywood or boards. The bottom of the pit should be carefully leveled. Next, sand is poured into it in a layer of at least 5 cm. Then a concrete base about 3cm thick is poured. After it hardens, the reinforcing mesh is installed. At the final stage, everything is poured with concrete. It is prepared in the proportion cement*sand*crushed stone 1*3*5.

There should be 10 cm of foundation slab on all sides of the woodshed.

Firewood masonry

After pouring and setting the foundation, they begin laying the woodshed. The barbecue we are considering in the projection from above will look like the letter “P”. The back wall can be made of three bricks laid on the bed with a spoon, the side walls can be made of two. In order for the grill to be comfortable, the woodshed should be made higher (10-11 rows).

Stove in the gazebo. Photo of a barbecue with a high woodshed

The walls are laid using the half-brick method. After five rows, using the brick method, also using the letter “P,” a “shelf” is made under the bottom of the firebox. The latter can be made from steel sheet. The next row is also laid out in brick, but along the entire perimeter of the rectangle. A steel plate or a 50*50m corner can be placed under the bricks in front from below.

The steel bottom of the roasting pan is placed on a “shelf” of bricks

Firebox masonry

Next, we'll look at how to build a firebox. Laying over the woodshed is continued again using the half-brick method. The height of the firebox should be 10-12 rows. At the very top, holders for a steel rod are installed into the masonry, onto which the smoking products will be placed.

You can arrange a smokehouse above the grill or barbecue in the oven

Important: It is best to lay out the firebox from fireclay bricks. In this case, you should use not cement, but clay mortar.

How to make a chimney?

You can make a chimney for a barbecue with your own hands from 2mm tin. To do this, the steel is cut in such a way that the opening angle of the truncated pyramid of the smoke collector is approximately 60 cm, and the diameter metal pipe– 12cm. Such a chimney can be welded to the firebox through a steel corner. At the final stage, you will need to make a hinged door for the smokehouse from the same tin.

Photo of brick barbecues with a tin chimney

At this point, the construction of the stove with barbecue and smokehouse can be considered complete. As you can see, the procedure is not as complicated as it might seem at first glance. If you have ever built brick walls, assembling a stove for a gazebo will not be difficult for you.

If you often spend time with friends, love meat or fish, then you simply need a brick barbecue. This functional feature will allow you to cook even large pieces of meat, turning them into a delicious, aromatic dish. We invite you to get acquainted with the design features of detailed buildings and the sequence of their construction.

Design and principle of operation of a brick barbecue

Part modern complexes Usually there are more than three fireboxes. Their dimensions are determined at the project development stage. This device makes the barbecue oven multifunctional. A Russian stove with an oven, a brick barbecue, and a smokehouse are provided. There are other possible options. There are three or more channels, which, thanks to the valve system, can be isolated from each other.

The barbecue includes a grate installed 20-25 cm below the level of the side walls. The coal tray is solid, which provides sufficient draft. The coal smolders, so there is gradual, uniform cooking of various dishes. The height of the walls ensures the formation of a warm air-smoke cushion, due to which the prepared food acquires a characteristic smoky aroma.

Where is the best place to organize a barbecue area?

When choosing a barbecue location, take into account whole line factors. It should be located:

  • away from flammable substances;
  • away from trees;
  • on the leeward side of buildings;
  • far away from .

It is advisable to locate the complex away from the house (at a distance of at least 5 m). At the same time on minimum distance from the kitchen so that the housewife can cook comfortably. It is advisable to pave the complex using either brick. All wooden elements coat with fire retardant.

Laying the foundation

The service life of a brick barbecue in a gazebo depends on the quality of the base. Work begins with preparing the pit. For this they remove fertile layer and remove the soil to a depth of 20-25 cm.

Attention! The dimensions of the foundation being laid depend on the size and design features of the barbecue. They should be 0.5 m more sizes stoves in all directions.

Illustration Description of action

A fifteen-centimeter layer of medium-fraction crushed stone is poured and compacted onto the leveled bottom of the pit. Pour a small layer of concrete. Let's do it. To do this, we drive the rods at equal distances, and also lay them lengthwise and crosswise, tying them at the intersection point.
Pour concrete to the level of the pit, close it from above metal sheet and leaves it for three days. The sheet should be laid on the bricks to prevent its contact with the poured mortar.

We set up the formwork and continue pouring the base.

If you want to learn the sequence yourself, watch this video.

Preparation of clay solution

Dark red clay is selected for laying the stove. It is soaked for a day before preparing the solution and mixed thoroughly every other day. Sand is added to the soaked clay in a ratio of 1:2. To increase plasticity, glue for stoves and fireplaces is added to the composition (about 3% of the volume). The composition is thoroughly mixed. You can start laying.

Arrangement of the firebox and chimney

Heat-resistant bricks are used for the firebox and chimney. The formation of the pipe usually starts from the 18th row. In each of them, a quarter of the brick is removed to narrow the hole. This is done up to the 28th row. should be equipped with a valve.

Attention! Instead of brick, let's install a metal box.

External finishing of the barbecue oven

Getting started external design, the finishing should be coordinated with the style of the house and other buildings located on the site. All elements of the complex should have a single decor.

How much does it cost to build a turnkey brick barbecue - price review

Not everyone can carry out the entire range of work on their own. But many are interested in the price of a turnkey brick barbecue. Here everything will depend on many factors, including the size of the building and its design features. If you decide to order a brick barbecue, pay attention to the average cost of popular models.

People's craving for cooking outdoors ineradicable. There is no need to fight it - you can simply make your desire come true. And a high-quality barbecue oven can be of great help here.

Features and purpose

A barbecue oven is similar in its functions to a cauldron and a barbecue: all three types of hearth allow you to use fire for cooking. Most people can easily distinguish a barbecue, because it is intended strictly for barbecue. The line separating barbecue from... outdoor fireplaces. But it won’t be difficult to recognize it, because the fireplace does not have a special grate for the fire mode. It is intended primarily to form cozy atmosphere, and food processing for it is a secondary function.

Any barbecue project should involve rational removal of the stove from residential and outbuildings. Not only does it create a significant fire hazard, but it can also constantly create smoke around, and this is unlikely to please even the most ascetic and patient people. The barbecue is designed as carefully as possible, taking care of the convenience of visiting the house. At any moment you may need to return there to take various products, clothes or dishes.

You should carefully and thoughtfully select the material for manufacturing: it must be very durable, prevent fire, and not be destroyed by the elements.

Varieties

The literal translation of barbecue from English is open fire. The hemispherical cauldron that appeared in the 20th century gave this type of fireplace a new impetus. The furnace complex can be presented in different variations:

  • Disposable. Made from thin tin. Coal is placed in the pan and covered with a grate on top.
  • Mobile. It is a kind of suitcase that can be easily moved into Right place. Ideal for lovers of picnics and barbecues on the street.
  • Boiler. American in origin. It is equipped with a dome-shaped lid, when closed, the structure resembles an oven (you can cook a lot of meat at once).
  • Cart. The mechanism is quite complex, the working part is folding or fixed in some variations.
  • Stationary. Most often it is made of brick and is complemented by a large table for guests.

In addition to the simplest barbecues running on coals, there are other options. Working for natural gas The stove is often used in cafes and other establishments of this type. At dachas, such structures are additionally used as a grill; you can often find cases where they are built into garden elements. Electrical Products They are distinguished by their compact dimensions - they are placed on the most ordinary tables. But even if we talk about street fireplaces (open hearths) of the usual type, they can be represented by far more than just basic solutions.

Quite often, an extended open firebox is used, which is needed as a fireplace in the garden or gazebo, and the addition of a grate or spit allows you to cook meat very tasty. A Russian oven can also be used as a barbecue, in the fire chamber of which baked goods, a smokehouse and even a hob are excellent. A stationary barbecue can be varied within a fairly wide range: it is placed both at ground level and slightly above or below it. The choice of a square or round configuration depends entirely on the will of the owners. The only constant requirement is to cover the area around the fireplace with fireproof material.

Where to place it?

Gazebos and terraces are considered the most suitable for installing barbecues, thanks to which you can be outside regardless of weather conditions. An equally important factor is compatibility with other parts of the landscape, because the stove should harmoniously complement the composition of the dacha or garden area, and not get out of it. When the yard is covered with brick, it is advisable to install a stove made of a similar material. It is advisable to think about the location of the barbecue at the stage of thinking through the landscape as a whole.

The ideal barbecue area should be removed not only from the house and outbuildings, but also from any bush, tree, fence and other flammable structures. At the same time, you should think about protecting your home from smoke, and about paving the lawn or lawn (if the stove is installed there). Very important detail- high-quality lighting, because holidays and just friendly get-togethers tend to drag on until the evening and even late at night...

Stationary structures are installed taking into account one more consideration - ease of use. “Convenience” cannot be described by any one standard; it is largely a subjective matter. But it is recommended to bring paths to the barbecue area; if the garden or dacha is already equipped, you will have to choose among the places where they go. It happens that on the site there is not a single building with a roof, except for the house, then the place is chosen based on the amount of space available for installing a dining group. In addition, during installation, it is advisable to maintain a certain distance from neighbors’ plots, regardless of whether home-made or factory-made stoves are used.

Manufacturing materials

Even the most good project and a carefully thought-out arrangement will not allow you to achieve the optimal result if you do not carefully approach the choice construction materials. In most cases, they use various types bricks It should be noted that back wall heats up to high temperatures, so in this case It's better to use fire bricks instead simple option. The foundation is often made of marble or granite, which can withstand significant loads well.

Outdoor brick fireplaces are constructed primarily from fireclay bricks of a universal profile. Of the brands on the market best results demonstrate ShA and ShB, which easily tolerate heating up to 1650 degrees. If speak about natural materials, then when creating furnaces it is recommended to use:

  • basalt;
  • limestone;
  • dolomite.

In addition to construction materials, you need to take care of preparing connecting solutions. Cement and sand are used to produce them, and red clay is used to lay fireclay bricks. It is poured with the volume of water provided for by the technology and left alone for 5-6 days, after which it is mixed until a homogeneous mass is formed. Sifted sand (relatively little) and a small portion of M200 cement complete the process of preparing the composition.

It is not at all necessary to build a barbecue from natural stone or bricks. Metal structures also perform well. Particularly widely used cast iron products: when using them, the risk of soot formation is minimal. In the internal volume of the furnace, heat is distributed perfectly evenly and is retained long time- even the best varieties have become incapable of doing this. The disadvantage of cast iron is the heaviness of the fireplace, but if it is installed permanently, this circumstance can be neglected.

In home-made conditions, it is easy to make an impromptu barbecue from a gas cylinder. Compared to this solution, even the most simple designs industrial production are prohibitively expensive. By strictly following the procedure, even people who are not very experienced in working with metal will get an excellent result. Consumers can put exactly the functionality they need into a device and not pay for useless add-ons. And one more thing: structures based on a gas cylinder are quite mobile.

Since these containers are made to be as durable as possible in production, there is no reason to fear their unreliability. The bottom will not burn, and after finishing cooking the meat, you just need to close the lid - there is no need to pour in or put out the fire. Important: before starting work, you will have to release all the remaining gas that remains after using the cylinder.

This type of barbecue also has several disadvantages:

  • without heat-resistant paint, aesthetic properties deteriorate;
  • the product turns out to be very heavy;
  • you will need solid experience working with welding equipment (if you are unsure of the result, it is better to buy a ready-made structure).

Step-by-step production

Drawings and diagrams of barbecues should reflect not only their size and type of materials used, but also the order in which the bricks are laid out. It is important to immediately determine the design features of the structure: pay attention to the arrangement of shelves and wood niches, to stands for prepared dishes. It is recommended to reflect in the drawings the type of roof and the level of the grate mounted above the brazier, as well as the placement of the sink.

When building a barbecue with your own hands, it is advisable to focus on the following dimensions:

  • height – up to 180 cm;
  • pedestal – up to 80, maximum – up to 90 cm;
  • roasting pan height - 50-70 cm;
  • The width of the oven interior is up to 50 cm.

The barbecue is laid on a concrete base. Most often it is represented by a reinforced slab. The thickness of the structure is 0.3 m. Additionally, it is recommended to place a pair of precisely cut sheets of roofing material under this base: they will perform the task of waterproofing the foundation from below. To remove chamfers from bricks, tile cutters with diamond discs are used, and for cutting blocks, angle grinders with diamond discs are used. The initial row (platform) must be laid out in ½ brick, and the second line is laid out from whole blocks.

The chimney can be made not only from brick, but also from metal. Additional material savings will be achieved by eliminating brick tables. To build a stove correctly, you need to indicate in the drawing what the layer-by-layer structure of the structure will be (how best to lay it out in rows). General rule It’s like this: a pair of longitudinally oriented blocks is placed on a lower brick directed along it. The chimney is most often made by the users themselves, using steel structures or fire bricks.
