Everything about pumping stations of the German company Grundfos: characteristics, prices, reviews. Grundfos pumping stations Grundfos pumping booster stations

When choosing any product, every buyer pays attention to the manufacturer under whose brand it is produced. You should always focus on this factor - after all, some brands have earned trust and recognition for the high quality of their products, while others have negative reviews.

Among the brands under which pumping stations are produced, Grundfos deserves attention.

Product Features

Grundfos is one of the world leaders in the production of pumping equipment. The company was founded in 1945 in Denmark, and in 1947 its products were named Grundfoss (in Danish - “spring”).

Grundfos pumps appeared on the Russian market in the sixties of the last century. In 1992, a representative office of the concern was opened in Moscow, the subsidiary company Grundfos LLC began work in 1998, so now you can buy a Grundfos pumping station made in Russia.

Grundfos pumping stations are produced not only in Denmark, but also at the company’s plant in Istra, Moscow region.

Grundfos complete pumping stations are produced using modern equipment from well-known European companies and have a wide range of products, including:

  • Grundfos water supply pumping stations are equipment used to create water supply systems in everyday life and at work;
  • Grundfos fire extinguishing pump stations are equipment used to create fire extinguishing systems. The Grundfos fire pumping station has increased productivity and pressure.
  • Grundfos garden pumping stations are compact and lightweight pumps with moderate power and performance;
  • Grundfos pressure booster pumping station is equipment used mainly in industry. The Grundfos booster pumping station can also be used by public utilities - at water supply distribution points.

The advantages include compactness and noiselessness. In addition, the technical characteristics of Grundfos pumping stations can be selected for any purpose - due to the fact that this manufacturer has a lot of models.

Another obvious “advantage” is the simple and quick installation of the equipment. A completely inexperienced person can cope with the installation of such a pump (domestic, of course).

Separately, the high reliability of the pumps is noted - equipment of this brand, if handled correctly and the requirements are met, can last for decades.

More information about the models and their characteristics

Now let's take a closer look at the products offered.

Surface pumping station Grundfos JP Basic is one of the most popular and best-selling options. The station is designed for clean water and has the following characteristics:

  • immersion depth – 8 m;
  • productivity – 5 m 3 /hour;
  • power – 1400 W;
  • horizontal installation;
  • device weight - 20.4 kg.

This pumping station operates almost silently. The average retail price today is RUB 25,900. It is used wherever it is necessary to provide water supply: in residential cottages, country houses, in industry.

The Grundfos fire extinguishing pump station is another standard, but in a different category. Grundfos Hydro MX fire extinguishing stations are designed for water and foam fire extinguishing installations.

The concern produces more than six dozen models, differing in power (from 1.1 to 55 kW) and launch system. Liquid consumption – up to 120 m 3 /hour; pressure – up to 145 m. Retail cost depends on the model and starts from 882,574 rubles.

The Grundfos Hydro booster pumping station is a relatively new category of equipment. Boosting pumping stations are used to increase the pressure of water when supplied to industrial facilities, waterworks and residential buildings.

The wide range of applications has led to the availability of many models of such stations. Let's take the Grundfos Hydro 2000 pressure booster unit as an example.

This is a small-sized Grundfos automatic pumping station designed to maintain and increase water pressure in water supply systems of residential buildings and industrial facilities. Equipped with centrifugal pumps (pump).

Experts note the ease of installation and use of this product. Specifications:

  • maximum productivity – 600 m 3 /hour;
  • maximum head – 144 m;
  • water temperature – up to +70°;
  • Max. working pressure – 16 bar.

The price of the Grundfos pumping station, depending on the model and pump used, starts from 173,000 rubles.

The Grundfos submersible pumping station is one of the most diverse categories. Grundfos submersible well pumps can be used for pumping clean and sea water, for irrigation and drainage. Common models of such pumps (BMP, JP, MQ series) have the following basic parameters:

  • pressure – from 44 to 1600 m;
  • flow rate – from 2 to 10 m 3 /hour
  • liquid temperature – from +1° to +55°.

The Grundfos submersible pumping station is one of the most reliable options, however, the cost of devices from this brand is slightly higher than the average, which slightly reduces its popularity.

You can buy a Grundfos pumping station of this type from dealers at a price of 18,000 rubles. (depending on model).

Reviews about Grundfos pumping stations should also be taken into account - after all, only positive aspects are written in the advertising booklet. But the opinion of customers is more useful, since from it you can find out how the device “behaves” directly in operation.

Reviews about the Grundfos pumping station can, for example, be heard from owners of houses and summer cottages, and they are overwhelmingly positive.

Artem P., 48 years old, Kursk:

Grundfos is located in the country house - I spend the whole warm season there. I use it both in the house and for watering the garden - it always does the job, although I took it with a spare. The only thing I didn’t like was the price: models with approximately the same characteristics cost almost one and a half times less.

Egor, 39 years old, Murmansk:

I work for a company that produces household chemicals. After a recent renovation, most of the pumps were replaced with Grundfos - before that there were some old ones that worked miraculously. Now everything is fine, no interruptions, no sudden stops.

Getting started

Due to the fact that installation of a high-power installation and a fire extinguishing station requires highly specific knowledge and equipment, we will consider connecting household models.

The work steps are approximately as follows:

  1. The station is installed on a level place, protected from splashing water. Ideally, the room should be dry and the temperature should be maintained between +5º and +20º.
  2. The hoses (pipes) are connected to the suction pipe of the pump. The end of the hose (pipe) should always be immersed in water, ideally no less than 20-30 cm. However, it is not recommended to lower it to the very bottom if you are not sure of the cleanliness of the well - since sediment accumulates there, which can damage pump or impair its performance.
  3. The pump discharge line is connected. The connection point should be carefully checked - poor installation can cause a rupture during operation. As a result, water will pump directly into the room.
  4. The power line is being connected.
  5. The pump is being filled (for this there is a special hole on the body.
  6. After the pump is connected, you need to once again make sure that all lines are connected tightly and that the end of the hose (pipe) is lowered into the water. After this, the pump is turned on.

The device should begin to gain pressure, and when the required level is reached, stop working.

Possible faults

Malfunctions of the Grundfos pumping station depend on its type and area of application. We list the common problems of household pumps:

  1. The pump does not turn on. Check the voltage in the network. Check the integrity of the power cable. Check the condition of the capacitors.
  2. After switching on, the pump does not work (it rotates, but no water flows). Check if the water supply valve is open. Check the water level - perhaps the pump simply has nothing to pump.
  3. Turns off during operation. Check the pressure on the pressure gauge at the moment of turning it off and on - perhaps the problem lies in the automation. Check the water temperature according to the instructions. Check the voltage in the network.
  4. Switching off and on becomes frequent. Check the pressure in the pressure tank. Check the integrity of the water supply - perhaps there is a water leak somewhere, and pressure is lost even with the taps closed.

If these measures do not help, you must contact the manufacturer (supplier) of the product. In the event of a serious malfunction, repairs to the Grundfos pumping station must be carried out by a specialist.

You will have to pay for the services of a specialist: diagnostics will cost at least 500 rubles. Another 500-1000 are minor repairs related to the replacement of not very important parts, which can be done quickly.

Malfunctions of the Grundfos pumping station can be avoided by taking into account and following the operating rules of the equipment. An instruction manual for the Grundfos pumping station is available for each model, and it necessarily contains information on use.

Yes, the concern’s products are reliable and not too demanding, but by operating the pump according to the rules, you significantly extend its service life.

Household autonomous water supply stations for the home, cottage, and farm have acquired strong demand along with the establishment of competent economic policies in many countries.

Today, the maximum amount of land is used for domestic agricultural production. Most countries in the world devote large areas to farmland. Under these conditions, the pumping station of the first, second rise becomes a device that cannot lose its relevance.

The Grundfos product line of pumping stations provides ample opportunities for high-quality irrigation of fields, gardens and vegetable gardens . A pneumohydraulic pumping station for automatic water supply for a dacha, the price of which is attractive for the consumer, is successfully used to increase the level of household water comfort in private homes .

Design Features

Promotions water pumping stations- these are practical devices, all parts of which work harmoniously in a single system. Grundfos' proprietary design - specially treated steel - covers and reliably protects corners and working elements of different device models. All devices are ready for installation and are fully adapted not only to various containers, but also to wells, wells, and reservoirs.

As a rule, the country of origin of such a device as a pumping station for increasing pressure is Germany, but devices are also manufactured in most EU countries using Grundfos technology. Each branch of this corporation studies the needs of its region - based on this data, a plan for the release of the next model range is drawn up.

The scientific approach pays off: in every country chosen for cooperation, Grundfos is always “head and shoulders above” other manufacturers of devices such as water self-priming pumps and pumping stations.

The catalog of this brand contains devices in which each part is subject to a smooth decrease and increase in pressure. The devices consist of several main parts. First of all, these are pumps for quickly supplying water from depth.

The latter may apply independently . In cases where the liquid lies at a depth of less than eight meters, experts advise using centrifugal self-priming pumps (for water, technical or drinking liquid).

More about the water lifting process

Centrifugal self-priming pumps- the simplest method of raising water. They fit perfectly into the water supply system of a private home. All that is needed to use such a device is installation of a storage tank (it is filled with water for household use or for hygienic purposes).

Using this device, water is pumped out of small volume tanks. A sensor is installed in the storage tank - it monitors the liquid level and promptly turns off the water-lifting apparatus. Another task of such a sensor is to monitor the drop in water level in the tank. If the fluid becomes insufficient, the pump turns on instantly . Conveniently, the entire work cycle occurs automatically and does not require regulation.

Distinguish ejector pumps and injection pumps. Ejector-type pumping stations are recommended to be located in a technical rather than a residential area. The constant discharge of the ejector in these devices is responsible for the absorption of moisture. The pumping station with an ejector produced by Grundfos has proven itself throughout the world as a watering mechanism for gardens and vegetable gardens - that is why RusNasos offers it to Russian consumers today.

Injection pumps are characterized by an increased permissible water depth - it can reach 25 meters. These units are also suitable for small wells. A characteristic feature of these Grundfos devices is autonomy of their components . The engine of injection-type devices is located on solid ground, and the air-discharging mechanism is immersed in water.

Using pumps with diaphragm pressure tanks

German private water supply pumping stations can also be used in combination with membrane pressure tanks. Installation of a pump on a membrane tank and its relay equipment is a development of Danish engineers, which has been defined as a “complete mobile pumping station”.

A silent, compact pumping station for an apartment, house or cottage uses membrane tank Grundfos special design. It is a metal container divided in two using a membrane. Both parts of the container are sealed. Air enters the first under pressure, water is pumped into the second.

As soon as the relay detects that the maximum pressure has been reached, the water pumping stations are turned off, and the liquid in the membrane tank can be used . Reaching the lower pressure limit, also reflected on the relay, forces the hydraulic pump stations to start working again.

Main advantages

Buy a household pumping station water supply for a dacha or private home of the Russian consumer is motivated by numerous advantages. First of all, technicians and users appreciate the consistent pressure performance of these devices. Pumps MQ 3-35, MQ 3-45 and other models are able to maintain this indicator at a level that is optimal for the operation of any water heating device, adapting to its needs.

These devices are also optimal according to other criteria. Thus, they have a reduced number of pump starts and stops - with the help of this technology, the engineers of the Danish corporation have achieved longevity of device service .

Another advantage of units of this brand is the ability of a volumetric membrane tank to accommodate large supply of water . This feature provides a constant water resource that can be used during a power outage.

Active use

Water pumping stations for water supply Grundfos houses (dachas), the price of which is consistently low, are supplied to dozens of European and Western countries: in the technical world, quality is valued at a low cost.

The description of the pumping station includes classic components - the pump itself, the storage tank and the intelligent device control system. In addition to the sensor, the technical characteristics of pumping stations may contain control unit , also capable of automatically turning the pump on or off.

Thanks to trouble-free operation and a long service life, the pumping station for pumping, 2 (II) lifting and increasing pressure has been equipped today with many suburban areas and villages that our country is rich in. The traditional area of application of devices of this brand remains watering fields and gardens of various sizes, from minimal to extensive.

Today, Danish technology is actively used in the Russian capital. Products from this manufacturer have been identified as the best autonomous water supply pumping stations in Moscow.

The online store created as part of our project has collected on its pages classic Danish automated water pumping stations for the home. Prices (wholesale and retail) are low here thanks to direct cooperation with Grundfos.

Today our clients are large companies and individuals who prefer to purchase Grundfos high-pressure self-priming pumping stations, home pumping mini-pumping stations and automation for them here. The devices sold by RusNasos are widely used in private country houses and cottages, in bathhouses, and at dachas.

Clients we have established with long-term partnership , they know: here you can always buy inexpensive household automatic submersible pumping stations for water from wells. The price of each Grundfos product is kept within its limits.

Thus, due to the absence of “surprises” in the form of an unexpected increase in the cost of installations, each of our clients can accurately plan the estimate for the pumping station.

Among the devices that our online store offers are cheap electrical home water supply pumping stations, already actively used in Russia.

Ask any German to translate the phrase: “Unsurpassed quality, high reliability and super popularity.

Everyone will answer you without hesitation: Grundfos. True, judging by the reviews on the network, many Russian users would answer this way. For those who are hearing about this brand for the first time, we recommend reading our article.

The reason is reliable, trouble-free operation, complete equipment and the highest performance.

Each model is a set of solutions that completely exclude user participation in the process of supplying water to the house and site.

Operating principle^

To pump water into the water supply network, Grundfos uses a self-priming surface-type pump with a built-in ejector.

The engine is started and stopped by a signal from a pressure switch, in which the on and off thresholds are adjusted by the user at his discretion.

To prevent frequent starts of the pump motor in case of short-term use of the water supply, the system is equipped with an elastic membrane accumulator, the volume of which is selected according to the station’s productivity.

If Grundfos seems a little expensive to you, pay attention to AquaRobot pumping stations, we wrote an article with reviews, technical characteristics, prices, read it only in our online magazine.

How to choose a pumping station? ^

Grundfos NS should be selected based on the required pressure and performance.

Their maximum values are given in the data sheet, but they only help to get a general impression of the power of the equipment.

Much more valuable from a practical point of view are tables or graphs showing what performance the pump will have at a particular pressure.

The required productivity is calculated approximately, taking into account the following data: water consumption when using a tap (for a pressure in the pipeline of 2 atm) is 3-4 l/min, for a shower cabin - 10-12 l/min.

The required pressure is measured in meters of water column, it is calculated by summing three components:

  • required pressure in the pipeline (approximately 2 atm or 20 m.v.st);
  • maximum height of water fittings relative to the pump;
  • hydraulic resistance of the pipeline.

To select a station, the last value can be calculated approximately: Every 10 m of pipeline is equivalent to one meter of pressure.

This, by the way, should be taken into account when determining the suction depth.

If the surface water in the well is 5 m below the ground level, A the distance from the well to the pump is 20 m(this often happens when installing a pump in a house), then The maximum suction depth for the station must be at least 7 m (5 + 20/10).

When purchasing a station, check its completeness.

Grundfos pumping stations are equipped with everything necessary, but unscrupulous sellers can sometimes remove a filter or check valve to sell them separately.

In this case, the buyer is told that these elements are not included in the NS kit. Many people believe this, because this is often the case with NS from other manufacturers.

Important: Grundfos pumping stations are very demanding on the quality of power supply. Our power grids, as we know, are not yet of European quality, so it makes sense Along with the station, purchase a voltage stabilizer.

Best selling models^

Below we have given a mini-rating of the most popular pumping stations from Grundfos, their cost and main technical characteristics. Purchasing one of these stations, in our opinion, would be a very reasonable expenditure of money, given the reliability of these devices.

Grundfos JP Basic 3/24 ($350) ^

This high-performance pumping station is capable of providing water to a large country house with all the amenities and a developed irrigation system.

Maximum productivity – from 3 to 5 cubic meters. m/h, maximum pressure – 48 m. Providing such high performance, the economical JP pump consumes only 0.85 kW of electricity.

The permissible depth of the water surface in the source is up to 9 m. At the same time, the efficiency of the pump does not decrease even when the water flow at the suction contains a large volume of air.

The station is equipped with a membrane hydraulic accumulator with a volume of 24 liters. The pump can be used to increase pressure in centralized water supply networks.

The station operates with a reduced noise level, which is ensured by high quality assembly, the use of cast iron as the pump housing material, and water cooling.

Grundfos JP Basic 3/50 ($400) ^

This model differs from the previous one in a more capacious membrane accumulator, the volume of which is 50 liters.

Increasing the storage capacity helps reduce the number of start-stop cycles of the pump motor, thereby significantly increasing its service life.

Grundfos MQ 3-35 ($520)^

In this model, the pump, electric motor, diaphragm accumulator, flow and pressure sensors, as well as a check valve and control unit are assembled into a single structure.

The station is compact in size and does not require any free space around it after installation.

A self-priming surface pump is capable of lifting water from depths of up to 8 m and developing a maximum pressure of up to 35 m. The maximum volume of water pumped per hour is from 3 to 5 cubic meters. m.

A handshake function is provided. It consists in the fact that after an emergency shutdown the pump automatically tries to resume operation at intervals of 30 minutes.

After 24 hours, the handshake function is disabled and the pump can only be started manually.

The maximum operating pressure is 7.5 atm.

The station can be operated at external temperatures up to +45C. Thus, its rather high price, in our opinion, is completely justified.

Grundfos Hydrojet JP 5/24 ($550) ^

The small pump of this station with a power of only 0.75 kW deserves great respect. It is capable of developing a head of up to 40 m or providing maximum productivity of 3.5 cubic meters. m/h.

The greatest suction depth is 8 m. A 24-liter storage tank will help ensure optimal pump operation.

The model can work in regions with hot climates; the permissible outside air temperature is +40C.

Working pressure – up to 6 atm.

Grundfos Hydrojet JP 6/50 ($1200) ^

High capacity model with a maximum capacity of 4.5 cu. m/h. Maximum head – 48 m.

Power consumption – 1.4 kW. Suction depth (maximum) – 8 m. Membrane storage capacity – 50 l.

The pump is controlled by a pressure switch with built-in dry-running protection.

Italian ones may also be a good alternative to Grundfos; they are no less reliable and are often more affordable.

Users' opinions ^

Alexey T., St. Petersburg

I have a Grundfos MQ 3-45 station at my dacha. I’ll immediately note the advantages: the pump operates very quietly, startup occurs smoothly, without large starting currents. 100% trouble-free equipment. I can only mention one drawback: after five years of operation, the plastic on the power button burst. It had to be used too often to forcefully turn off the pump during periods of voltage surges and sags. By the way, I recommend that all potential buyers take into account that such fluctuations in the power supply network have a very bad effect on the life of the pump, so if your power network is unreliable, look for a more durable model or connect Grundfos through a stabilizer.

The station operates all year round. For greater convenience, I installed an additional 100 liter tank. The pump turns on when the pressure drops to 2 bar and turns off as soon as it rises to 4 bar. The performance is enough for several water points, as well as for ensuring the operation of the washing machine. Even at maximum flow there is always enough water. In general, I advise everyone to buy such a thing, despite the high cost. I was convinced from my own experience that it is completely justified.

Alexander P. Volgograd

Four years ago I installed a Grundfos automatic pumping station for water supply to a country house. It works all year round, especially intensively in summer due to irrigation. I decided to buy it after a long study of forums on the Internet; judging by the reviews, this is the best option for a pumping station. I was never disappointed in my choice. Sometimes you have to read user complaints, saying that it often breaks down. Most likely, this is due to poor quality of power supply; due to the presence of an electronic controller, Grundfos pumping stations are very sensitive to voltage changes. I immediately connected mine through a stabilizer and I can say with full responsibility: the equipment works like a clock.

The station pumps water from a well. The operation of the pump is controlled by pressure and water flow sensors. If the water in the well falls below the intake pipe, the station automatically turns off.

I especially like the fact that it maintains constant pressure at any flow rate, and not as in conventional stations: first, the pressure in the tap decreases until the membrane accumulator is empty, and then, when the pump starts, it increases. This is not the case with Grundfos; water flows like from a tap in a city apartment.

I would also like to note the low noise level and absolutely complete set; I didn’t have to buy anything extra at all.

I can’t point out any shortcomings, except that the price is a little steep.

Victor M., Kaluga

First, I installed the Marina automatic pumping station. It’s quite good, but when you turn on the pump it makes too much noise, and the floors just shake, it seems like the house is about to fall apart. I sold it to a friend and bought Grundfos JP in return. Can't hear it at all! I installed it in the basement, and I don’t feel any discomfort while the unit is running. The pump is very efficient, confidently draws water, despite the great depth of the well and the significant distance to it. Without any problems I can take a shower while the washing machine is running.

Among the devices that our company offers are cheap electric pumping stations for home water supply, which are already actively used in Russia.

Like many European companies, Grundfos boasts an interesting history of its formation. From a small workshop, this monster has grown into an extensive network of factories and representative offices throughout Europe. By the way, in Russia, in the city of Istra, their plant also operates and produces excellent quality products. But the most important thing is that the manufacturer, when constructing a plant in a country, offered its population not only standard pumps and pumping stations, but also models that were adapted to the conditions of their operation in that country. And although Grundfos’ prices are steep, their products are very popular due to their high quality, complete set and trouble-free operation. It should be noted that the Grundfos pumping station is the very first model that appeared in the world as a separate type of equipment.

Design features

Let's start with the fact that the Grundfos pumping station includes a centrifugal pump and a hydraulic accumulator. In principle, like other brands of this type of equipment. But it also has its own distinctive feature - it is an ejector, which is included in the design of the pump as an integral part. That is, it turns out that this device is located in the pump housing.

The ejector makes it possible to increase the depth of water intake. Without it, the pumping station can pump water from a depth of no more than 10 m; with it, this value increases to 50 m. And although many experts are confident that an ejector lowered into a well shaft works better in terms of efficient water intake, the Grundfos company refutes this.

In addition, stations with a built-in ejector are practically insensitive to sand and other small debris in the water - there is no need for filtration. Constant and uniform pressure will be another advantage of this design. The only drawback is the increased noise level during operation. But considering that pumping stations are located outside the house (caissons) or in a utility room, this drawback is insignificant. Therefore, the products of this brand are very popular when arranging large depths.

As for the completeness of the station, the Grundfos company provides the pump with all the necessary elements and components. That is, it includes the unit itself, a check valve, a strainer and a hose that will be lowered into the well, a pressure switch, a pressure gauge and connecting fittings. The absence of one of the elements is unacceptable.

The automation unit, which controls the operation of the pumping unit, consists of a pressure gauge and a relay. The first monitors the pressure inside the water supply system, the second turns off or turns on the pump when the water pressure increases or decreases, respectively. The relay design is based on two springs: one large, the other small. The first reacts to low pressure in the accumulator, turning on the pump. The second is on high, turning it off.

Principle of operation

The Grundfos pumping station works quite simply.

  • The pump pumps water into the accumulator, which enters a pear-shaped rubber membrane. It expands under the influence of water. But between the membrane and the walls of the metal tank, air is pumped under a pressure of 1.5 atm. It provides pressure inside the water supply network. When pumping, the air pressure increases to 4.5 atm.
  • The pump turns off, and water from the accumulator under pressure begins to flow into the water supply network of the house. As soon as the pressure inside the water supply drops, the automation turns on the pump, which again pumps water into the membrane.

Operating principle of the pumping station

The lineup

It should be noted that even the most demanding buyer will find the necessary pumping station model that will effectively provide water to any home with a different number of consumers. The main thing is to correctly calculate the required water flow.

Water stations

One of the very popular models is the Grundfos MQ 3-45 pumping station. Speaking about its technical characteristics, we can say that this unit can provide water to a fairly large house. After all, its productivity is 3 m³/hour. And this despite the fact that it can pump water with a pressure of 27 m - this is a nominal figure. Maximum – up to 45 m.

But, most surprisingly, the pump’s electric motor has a power of 1.0 kW. That is, while delivering such decent power, the device consumes a minimum of electricity.

Grundfos MQ 3-45

Another representative of this model with lower technical characteristics. This is a Grundfos MQ 3-35 pumping station. Its performance is exactly the same as that of the previous model, but the maximum head is 35 m, with a suction depth of 8 m. But it has a lower power consumption of electricity - 0.85 kW. That is, the company gives you the opportunity to choose the unit that will supply the required amount of water, no less and no more, but you won’t have to overpay for the equipment. This is very important in light of savings.

True, this model has a lodging function. That is, the pump, which is self-priming, will try to turn on itself every 30 minutes after an unexpected emergency shutdown. For example, the water level in a well has dropped. After half an hour, the pump will try to pump water. If the level does not rise to the required level, the unit will turn off again. And it will turn on in half an hour. But after 24 hours the function will turn off if the emergency situation is not corrected. After which the station will have to be turned on manually. This is a kind of protection.

Attention! All models of the MQ series are small-sized, which includes a multi-stage self-priming pump.

But the Grundfos Basic 3-50 pumping station has a more capacious hydraulic accumulator with a volume of 50 liters. All other characteristics are the same as previous models. Of course, a spacious tank reduces the number of starts and stops of the pumping device, which increases its service life.

Now it is necessary to consider several models from the Hydrojet series, which includes a single-stage pump of the JP brand. It has a fairly wide range, which includes both small and powerful pumping units. The latter can provide water to large houses or several small ones.

Pumping station Grundfos Basic 3-50

So, the first representative is the Grundfos Hydrojet JP 5-24 pumping station. This is the smallest representative of its class, which includes a “JP” series pump and a hydraulic accumulator with a capacity of 24 liters. With a small electric motor with a power of only 0.75 kW, it can drive up to 3 m³/h of water through itself, raising it to a height of up to 48 m. The water intake depth is 8 m, creating a pressure inside the water supply system of up to 6 atm. Given the small dimensions of the installation, these are excellent technical characteristics.

The next model is more powerful - the Grundfos Hydrojet JP 6-50 pumping station. Its design has a built-in ejector, and it has an additional function of increasing pressure. In all other respects, this is still the same pumping station. It has a larger hydraulic tank volume - 50 liters and increased power - up to 4.2 m³/hour. Of course, with such a performance, the pump also consumes more electricity - up to 1350 W.

Sewage pumping stations

The Grundfos model line of pumping stations also includes sewerage installations. With their help, you can pump storm, fecal, drainage, industrial and groundwater. Since the unit itself and the hydraulic accumulator are faced with quite aggressive liquids, their designs include parts and assemblies made of high-strength materials.

However, it should be noted that sewerage stations of this type are practically not used on personal plots. They are expensive, and there is no need to use such advanced installations. Instead, you can use a Grundfos JP Basic 3pt pumping station for sewerage in a country house. Despite its small dimensions, this installation has fairly high technical characteristics. But it will also look out of place in the sewer system. It is easier to install a regular fecal pump. But you need to know that the Grundfos company also produces sewerage units.

Installation Rules

All the models described above are an insignificant part of what the Danish company offers. But for all units there are certain strict requirements for installation and operation. Namely:

  • Experts recommend installing pumping stations close to the water intake source. The closer, the better, so the caisson is the best option for installation location.
  • All pumping stations must operate only at positive temperatures of the ambient air and pumped water. Therefore, it is best to install them in caissons, basements or insulated extensions to the house.
  • The device itself must be installed on a level and solid base. Be sure to place a rubber gasket under it, which will reduce the resonance of the installation.
  • Since domestic power lines outside the city cannot guarantee stable voltage, it is imperative that the pumping station be connected through a voltage stabilizer. In this regard, they are very capricious.

Installation rules

As for the positive operating temperature, it should be noted that pumping stations installed in the basement or caisson must be connected to the hydraulic structure by pipes or hoses, which must also be insulated. Therefore, the pipeline can be laid below the freezing level of the soil, or the route will have to be insulated using special heat-insulating materials. Typically today, cylinders (shells) made of foamed polymers are used for this purpose.

A very important point is to choose the right pipe connection to the station itself. Each model has its own inlet diameter, so the pipe diameter must match it. If this is not possible, then you will have to install an adapter. True, experts do not recommend installing pipes of smaller or larger diameter; this will affect the pressure inside the water supply.

Model differences

So, when the conversation turns to household pumping stations from the Grundfos company, it must be said that the manufacturer offers two groups: Basic and Hydrojet. They differ from each other only in the material from which the unit body is made. In the first group it is an aluminum alloy, in the second it is stainless steel.

By the way, as mentioned above, models of the Basic group can be used for pumping water with a high concentration of pollution. That is, they can organize watering of green spaces with water intake from open reservoirs or pump out wastewater.

True, in the Basic series there are also pumping units made of cast iron. For example, Grundfos JP Basic 2 PT. This is the smallest design, weighing only 18 kg. Therefore, it is easy to move it around the site to any place. The mobile version, although small in size, has excellent performance characteristics. Capacity is 3 m³/hour, lift height (pressure) is up to 40 m, suction depth is 8 m. Such installations are usually used in the summer. They are installed in the spring near a well or borehole, and in the fall they are dismantled and put away in a house or barn. The most important thing is that it takes a maximum of half an hour to connect or dismantle.
