Learn Polish by yourself translation. How to quickly learn a foreign language. How I learned Polish

Hi all! I welcome you to my channel!

When we were going to go to Poland, we did not specifically teach Polish language. At the beginning, I had a small attempt to do something, “Polish for Russians”, I think that's what it was called. I opened it, as it should, in the alphabet, and when I saw all these letters that are strangely pronounced, which have no analogues in Russian, I was horrified, closed it and decided that I better leave it, and when I arrived in Poland, I would start learning Polish language.

There were a couple of attempts to listen to some Polish speech or some Polish language lessons, and for some reason it seemed to me that it was very similar to Ukrainian, and if we come to Poland, we can speak Ukrainian without any problems. But make no mistake, please, because the Poles do not understand at all Ukrainian language. We also encountered such a moment, it was the same with us, maybe it was different for someone else, but when we spoke with the Poles and literally made a mistake in one letter or made a slightly wrong accent, they absolutely could not understand what generally in question.

People of an earlier generation learned Russian in schools. This, of course, helped us when we arrived, because older people could at least understand us, not talk, but understand. We were lucky that when we arrived, we met a lot of people from Ukraine, Belarus, who speak Ukrainian and Russian. For the first few months, they went everywhere with us and translated everything. We are very, very grateful to them for this.

What helped me to learn Polish. Of course, this is communication. We communicated with the Poles several times a week. We didn't finish special courses didn't go to special schools, just live communication with friends, listened to Polish speech, tried to repeat something. This gave me within three weeks at least to understand what was being said. 70% -80% I have already begun to understand what is at stake. For two months we listened and tried to say something. My advice to you: don't be afraid to speak Polish! Ask your friends to correct you if you say something wrong, even if you don't know.

Although everyone has their own abilities, it is very difficult when learning Polish to immediately start speaking correctly. Practice, practice and more practice! Two months later, we asked our friends to study Polish grammar with us. We took a few lessons, but in this course we were recommended a wonderful book called "Zaczynam mówić po polsku". This book has a wonderful grammar. This book is only in Polish. The first two months, when we arrived, Polish was already a little familiar. We saw Polish inscriptions, there was some communication in Polish in shops and with friends. I resorted to such a wonderful course as Polish in 7 lessons: http://speakasap.com/en/polish-lesson1.html . I think it will be useful for you.

Of course, when you come to Poland and come across the language, people, culture here, it was much easier for me to accept this language and start learning it. I do not have the ability to learn foreign languages, for me this is something very difficult. Math is easier for me exact sciences, web design, but by no means languages. It's something very difficult, very difficult for me. As far as I read different books about learning languages, each person has their own abilities. It is easier for someone to perceive by ear, for someone some images are easier, for someone associative thinking. You can read Polish books, watch films in Polish, talk, listen to some dialogues. Find a way that is more optimal and convenient for you. Another very wonderful book on Polish grammar is called "Ten ta to". Another great course that was recently recommended to us is called Polish in 4 weeks. A wonderful book that can be downloaded from the Internet along with audio lessons. The book is based on dialogues on various topics. Dialogues are written and are very easy to understand. Then the grammar is signed, well, at the end of the word. You listen to the pronunciation, and before your eyes you have it all in writing. You can listen to dialogues on the road, repeating different words, or read on convenient devices.

Poland is a wonderful country to live in. This is one of the EU countries where it is easiest to emigrate.

Programmers, designers, photographers and other creative professions who work for themselves have a unique opportunity to receive Residence permit in Poland for 3 years and pay minimum taxes.

Once I suddenly decided to move to Poland. I set myself a short term - a couple of months - and only then I realized that I needed to improve my Polish sooooo much, preferably back in my homeland.

Now I am learning Polish not from scratch, I have basic knowledge, but they were received more than 10 years ago, and I did not use the language at all for more than 6 years. In general, there is a lot to remember and build up.

In general, I share my steps to learn Polish with you.

Quest 3

Just reading a textbook is boring! But too many different activities is also too much. Therefore, I went through three-quarters of the textbook without taking on anything else. But when it became clear that I had only a week left to study the book, I put away the textbook in the evenings, and instead began to read aloud a beautiful children's book about Polish legends. Large type, beautiful printing, cute drawings - it helped me not to die of horror, listening to my stumbling voice.

The photo is not the book that I read, but the essence, I think, is clear.

Quest 4. We introduce good habits

After the textbook has been completed, and the basic knowledge of grammar and basic vocabulary a little bit in my head (gave myself one day off in honor of the end of the textbook), I began to more actively use what I gradually introduced in the last week.

The habit of writing down all unfamiliar words

I write in an amazing application for Android AnkiDroid - this is essentially a shell for any vocabulary cards in any language. You write down everything you need to learn in it, and it shows you everything you need in a given interval. A very handy thing. To be honest, I didn’t try it right away, but now you can’t drag me by the ears. IMHO, this The best way study foreign words. Working with the program takes 3-5 minutes a day, during this time 15-20 new words are learned and some old ones are repeated. There is nothing better than getting a smartphone on the subway and poking at words!

The habit of watching several Polish YouTube channels

I like the YouTube channel "20 m" because every time there are new Polish people, both young and old, with different pace and timbre of speech - in general, not always easy, but ideal for learning. I also watch Polish TED. You can also watch films in Polish, but I don’t have a very close relationship with cinema, so for myself I chose videos on YouTube.

The habit of speaking and sometimes thinking in Polish

In particular lucky days I catch myself thinking that I hear Polish in my head! I hope there will be more days like this over time. Now there are no Poles in my environment, and on well-known sites like sharedtalks, no one responded to my announcement about “talk”. Solution? I made a list of 20 standard themes(my family, my city, my hobby, etc.) and periodically tell myself something about these topics. Moreover, I try to do it out loud, it is much more effective. I also try to talk to those who are aware of my extreme Polish language course in Polish on everyday topics. Very pumping language.

Vocabulary habit

If you don’t know a word that will be useful to you in the future, I immediately climb into the dictionary. And she also made it as simple as possible - she downloaded an offline Glosbe dictionary to her phone. At the beginning, I tried to use Google Translate, but as it turned out, Google does not translate quite a lot of words even without context, so it’s better to use a specialized dictionary.

The habit of reading in Polish

A few months later, I borrowed from the same library an unadapted, but light, cheerful book in Polish. The first 20 pages were still hard for me, but then things got easier and from the mere thought that I was reading a real book for the Poles, the letters ran more cheerfully. Oh yes, I still hung a little grammar in the kitchen and you-know-where - I still want to speak correctly, so let it be in the background difficult cases are remembered.

Of course, if you have a serious exam ahead of you, then only self-preparation is unlikely to get by, but if you just need to be able to speak and understand at a good level, my option is quite viable.

The main thing is to find interesting materials and make access to them as easy and simple as possible. Then the studies will go well. And of course you need to do it regularly, every day. I know from myself that if you miss at least one day, it is much more difficult to return to the rhythm.

Patience and inspiration!

Thanks for reading!

Of course, the site site is the most prominent representative learning Polish za darmo. But our business is still very young, and you want to know the language now, so we suggest you familiarize yourself with good options how to do it for free.

Polish: sites for free learning

1) Most the best resource(don't throw stones at me) I think the site is Popolskupopolsce. Looking through all his lessons, I learned something that I have ever dreamed of creating myself. God and Anya grant that I succeed even better.

The site is wonderful! All sounds are there, clean and well recorded, all important and desired topics for the first level. The site provides an opportunity to do exercises and test yourself without sending any tests to anyone, but observing the result immediately. The resource expounds the grammar of the Polish language very well, using interactive lessons, pictures, buttons, puzzles and much more for this. Oh, these are probably the best Polish lessons you will ever find on the net! The site and, accordingly, all the material, is divided into 16 blocks, in which various topics intertwine in an interesting way, not necessarily studied by you in one lesson in courses or with a tutor. But you can always skip something or go back to something, the whole site is available at any time, so remember? - it's free online study Polish, from scratch and basics.

In the first lecture, this pretty alphabet, as if created specifically for visuals, immediately catches the eye. And also for audials, because all the pictures, each letter is clickable, you can hear how the letter is read correctly, and what is the name in Polish of what is depicted next to it.

Convenient and correct tests are a huge plus of the site. You can listen, choose your answer, check yourself, prompt yourself and, by clearing your answers, try again without reloading the page. And there are a lot of such tests, such and similar ones, where you don’t need to write anything, just choose the right answers - hello kinesthetics!

And at the end of each lesson there is a section where you honestly have to answer the questions posed, and if everything is “yes” to you, then you remember the lecture perfectly.

The downside of the site is that it is designed only for level A1.

NEW!!! The book has finally arrived! Which I'm sure is just great! You can buy, the price is also good!

2) The second site (here not for convenience, but just the second one that came to mind) site Polskijazyk.pl.

In my opinion, it is much less convenient than the previous one. First, to access the lessons, you need to register. If you don't want to do that, then you won't be able to learn. The lessons themselves look like a PowerPoint presentation, taking up only one-third of the screen, that is, two-thirds are just white boxes. And in test tasks for lessons, you often need to write something. Also, all explanations and tasks are written in Russian, the Ukrainian button does not work for me, there is no Polish option at all. It’s more convenient for someone, but as for me, it’s better to immediately immerse yourself in the language, and not continue to stumble upon Russian, which only gets in the way. But the material itself is worthy, this site can be another addition to your studies. If it seemed to someone that I somehow described this resource too coolly, I’ll say this: the site is generally on this moment does not have any clickable and voiced material, so the site polskijazyk.pl is even better than that. But I still like the first one better 🙂 Try both and decide for yourself.

3) The next nice resource is Mówić po polsku. For Russian speakers, the disadvantage may be that the explanations there are in English (or German), but if you are already a more or less “advanced user”, you can only pay attention to Polish.

I like that everything here is in video or podcast format. I dream of starting to shoot videos myself, because I quietly envy those who are already doing it. It also seems to me that navigation here is very convenient - not always sites for free learning of the Polish language can boast of such (why go far - the site cannot boast of this yet either).

An interesting approach to learning Polish

And not only Polish - English, German, but also Spanish, because these are the languages that are now presented on the That.School website.

The trouble with many online courses is that they:

  • or consist of one glamatic test, which bothers;
  • or are designed mainly for level A1, that is, for the very beginners, for B2 and C1 you will not find a decent online course in the afternoon with fire;
  • or not always as free as advertised;
  • or have been known to everyone for a long time and are of no more interest.

Here - I can't say that it's a super-revolutionary approach, but at least it's interesting. The trouble is that I do not know German, and it is difficult for me to evaluate this particular side of the course. But if you look at the proposed Polish, then, firstly, everything is correct (I mean that I did not find any annoying mistakes that I often see and hear from different bloggers), and secondly, I still don’t know how to write tests and lessons. Solid usability! Plus: Polish with Wikipedia is a great idea! The only bad thing is that it's not enough. Of course, in many respects this is a matter of lack of time, because the guys, in addition to courses, also have to earn their bread, but a very healthy start has been made!

In my opinion, the That.School project is on this stage can be a great addition to your way of learning Polish. If you also study English, German or Spanish, there is even more material for these languages.

More! http://easy-polish.com/pl/ - at first glance - a very interesting site! Focused on vocabulary building!

So far, these are all the resources that I would like to mention. It is clear that these are not all that exist, there is a huge variety of everything, and I will supplement this article with interesting discoveries.!

If the material was useful, we will be glad to support! This can be done here:

Reading in a foreign language will not only consolidate the knowledge already gained, but also deepen it as much as possible. While reading, you can trace the spelling of words, the correct construction of sentences, the grammar of another language, and the like.

We suggest starting with Exupery's The Little Prince (Mały Książę), Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol (Opowieść wigilijna) or H. H. Andersen's The Snow Queen (Krolowa sniegu). Next, you should move on to more complex works, we recommend the classics in this order: Arthur Conan Doyle "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (Pies Baskerville "ów), Daniel Defoe "The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe" (Robinson Crusoe), Oscar Wilde "Portrait of Dorian Gray" (Portret Doriana Graya), Mikhail Bulgakov "The Master and Margarita" (

To learn the language on your own, first of all you need to know where to start learning the Polish language. D To get started, you need material - a tutorial. Before buying it, you need to decide:

  1. Will the Polish language be taught from scratch or do you already have some basic knowledge?
  2. How information is perceived more conveniently: visually or aurally. Some tutorials, in addition to books, may include discs with video or audio information.
  3. Desired level of knowledge: in order to have a few words with colleagues or a seller in a shop, much fewer words are enough than to check the correctness of paperwork.

Of course, the more vocabulary and experience of language communication, the better, under any circumstances. Choosing the desired level of knowledge, it makes sense to pay attention to the maximum. However, a smaller volume may be useful if the time for free study limited Polish.

Having understood what textbook (Polish language tutorial) is needed in terms of volume, you can proceed to its direct acquisition. Markets, shops, libraries - everything will do. However, as experience shows, it is more profitable and faster to turn to Internet sites that sell books. The best sites for learning Polish will help.

Ideal for Ukrainians, in terms of cost and promptness of delivery, is. Among the dozens of items, there is sure to be one suitable for personal requirements. At least as of today, there has not yet been a case in which it was not possible to find the right one in the existing assortment.

Learn Polish on your own

Experience, which according to Pushkin is the “son of mistakes”, is necessary in any business. But, using someone else's experience, mistakes can be avoided. Regularity of classes is the main key to success!

Let it work ... laziness

Most people are not prone to self-organization, and the idea to be lazy today and catch up tomorrow arises in almost everyone. Learning Polish online for free is not a matter of one week. This “lazy today” can keep stretching and stretching, and that very “tomorrow”, when you need to work hard, may not come at all ...

If laziness cannot be curbed, you must make it work for you.! You need to understand two simple things: firstly, you still have to learn Polish on your own, and secondly, the less you do today, the less time you will have for laziness tomorrow. It is necessary to regret your laziness, to amuse. At least promise... Therefore, the textbook in hand, and forward to knowledge!

Without letting go of the textbook

Many advise to achieve results by continuous work. We woke up, picked up a Polish textbook. Breakfast - out of the corner of your eye in the tutorial. toilet, walk, public transport textbook, textbook, textbook! What if labor exploits in the nature of a person is an ideal path to knowledge. For everyone else, this is the road ... to ignorance of the language.

A day or two of learning like this at an accelerated pace and there will be nothing in the world more hated than Język Polski. Of course, you will want to “give yourself a rest”, but how many days or weeks it will drag on is the question. Most likely, everything that was learned will be forgotten.

An hour in the morning, an hour in the evening Golden Rule . And the morning is immediately after waking up. The head is fresh and rested. Even before fully waking up, the brain absorbs information like a sponge.

In the evening it is more difficult. Laziness has already cleared up and can suggest that “I'm tired”, “let's go tomorrow”, “I still don't understand anything”, etc. Right here you have to force yourself! The evening (before bedtime) is a unique time for learning. A tired, seemingly unaware brain somehow miraculously remembers information. A person goes to bed with the thought that he did not understand anything he read, but in the morning it turns out that it is enough to run diagonally through what he read the day before, and - voila! - knowledge has been consolidated.

That's why learning Polish at home should be regular, but not excessive.

When a good half of the textbook is behind you, when the minimum experience has already been gained, and study begins to fill the teeth, it makes sense to remember how reading in your native language was mastered in childhood. The most primitive stage about the “mother”, who “washed the frame”, is learned from the tutorial. The following is further reading.

You can read a “thick smart book” in Polish and throw it away in horror after a few minutes, making sure that what is written is incomprehensible. Spoiling yourself and the mood, and the desire to learn further. But did in childhood, learning to read, someone immediately grabbed the encyclopedia? No, simple children's fairy tales were used! This experience will come in handy.

It is worth going again to the already familiar and pick up a few fairy tales, parables or stories for the very youngest! The phrases in them are short, the words are simple, commonly used. These are real helpers in learning the language!

These are fairy tales written in modern language. You should be careful when choosing historical, annalistic or stylized works, they may include obsolete or special words that interfere with learning.

How to learn Polish quickly? adult experience

The ideal way to consolidate knowledge is to study the Polish language in Poland, immersing yourself in the Polish verbal atmosphere. It's great if you can go out into the streets of a Polish city and listen to conversations, chat with neighbors, etc. However, those who still hear other languages on the street should not be upset either. Immersing yourself in the language atmosphere is not at all difficult:

  1. Must read Polish media. Thanks to the Internet, this is easy to accomplish. Not everything is clear? No problem! The time will come, and much more information will be accepted. By the way, this lovely way track the increase in the level of knowledge!
  2. Internet again. Now Youtube- Polish channels. This is very important, as it solves several problems at once:
    1. there is a perception of Polish not only “from a sheet”, but also through a living, real language;
    2. news, youth, humorous channels will give an idea of the processes taking place in Poland both at the level of high-ranking politicians, and at a simple, popular level, and, of course, in Polish;
    3. will significantly expand the lexicon, including specific political terms and jargon.

    Learning Polish: video from Youtube channel 20m will help you consolidate your knowledge.

  3. Films in Polish. In many ways, films in Polish for language learning combine the advantages of all the previous ones. At the same time, it also has its own - it's interesting! In an exciting story, you can always find a lot of new words, hear their pronunciation. By the gestures, facial expressions of the actors, one can guess the meaning of the word, without resorting to a dictionary.

    By the way, buy a dictionary anyway! New unfamiliar words must be checked against it, even if it seems that their meaning is clear.

    Constant communication with him should become an iron rule when learning Polish for beginners. Slightly that is not clear - to the dictionary! You should have a special notebook in which to enter new words for better memorization.

  4. Think in Polish. A person thinks in his native language, in the one he heard from his parents, relatives and friends since childhood. There is hardly anything that can be done about it. Yes, probably unnecessary. At the same time, nothing prevents you from scrolling in your head various situations in Polish. For example, while on the bus and replacing the window beautiful house, it is worth “telling” (mentally, to oneself) about him in Język Polski. One can imagine that the story is being told to a Pole friend who has never seen this beauty...

Now you know how to learn Polish at home. Polish songs in Polish can also help. Download them to your player or computer and listen to them.

If you can’t go to off-line courses, and you can’t learn Polish for free, there is an excellent compromise - Polish language learning sites(free or paid). It is worth paying for the services of the training center, and all the necessary educational materials, plans, schedules, exercises for learning the Polish language and various ways knowledge checks. Didn't deliver on time? Pay next month. Could not curb laziness? Let greed drive you! And all these advantages are obtained at a distance.

Such services are provided by various centers, with many nuances in both price and quality. AT this material it is not intended to explore them all and compare them. All data are based on leading, which in all respects seem to be the most adequate.

Convenience

This immediately makes it possible to evaluate the quality of teaching, the format, and learn other details.
