The most common GEA NT100 seal materials are:

    EPDM(abbreviated from ethylene propylene diene monomer) is EPDM ethylene-propylene rubber that can withstand heat exchanger operation at coolant temperatures up to +150 ... +160 0 C. EPDM material is suitable for operation of the GEA NT100 heat exchanger with steam and water without oily inclusions.

    NBR(abbreviated from nitrile Buna-N rubber) – butadiene acrylic-nitrile rubber with maximum operating temperature coolant +120 0 C. NBR material is suitable for operation of the GEA NT100 heat exchanger with steam, water, mineral and vegetable oils.

    NBRP(abbreviated from nitrile Buna-N rubber peroxide) – improved butadiene acrylic-nitrile rubber with a maximum operating coolant temperature of +130 0 C due to the addition of components to the feedstock that increase the operating temperature of the seal. NBRP material, like NBR, is suitable for operation of the GEA NT100 heat exchanger with steam, water, mineral and vegetable oils.

Special seal materials for GEA NT100:

    HNBR(abbreviated from hydrigintated nitrile Buna-N rubber) - butadiene acrylic-nitrile hydrogenated rubber with a maximum operating coolant temperature of +145 0 C. The HNBR material is suitable for operation of the GEA NT100 heat exchanger with mineral and vegetable oils. Steam-oil is especially often used in steam heat exchangers, in which the operating mode allows the temperature to rise up to +145 0 C (short-term up to 155 0 C).

    VITON - STEAM ®- (steam VITON). Also known as a type of fluoride rubber, FPM. The material belongs to the group of special temperature-resistant materials and is intended for GEA NT100 plate heat exchangers, in which steam with an operating temperature of up to +200 0 C is used as a coolant. GEA NT100 heat exchangers with seals made of VITON - STEAM material are most often used in boiler houses as the main water heaters water.

    FPM - G (VITON - G ®)– a type of VITON material for use on GEA NT100 steam-oil heat exchangers.
