Souvenir grass. DIY herbalists. Master class Travyanchik - an original gift and a great activity for a child

A grasshopper is a souvenir toy that contains sawdust and seeds inside. With systematic watering, real lawn grass begins to grow from it. If the grass is made in the shape of a cheerful face or a funny animal, the grass looks like hair or wool. If you entrust the care of a toy to a child, he will become more careful about nature. Buying such a souvenir is not difficult. However, by connecting children, you can make it yourself. So, we will tell you how to make a grasshopper with your own hands. However, in order for you to succeed, you should also learn how to care for your grass.

Master class on making herbal teas with your own hands

To create such an eco-toy, prepare a nylon sock, lawn grass seeds, sawdust, scissors, thread, and acrylic paints.

This is how you make your own herbs!

How to grow a grasshopper: instructions

In order for the grass to really grow, it is important to provide proper and appropriate care for the grass grower. Many who have a herb at home complain that the souvenir does not grow green. To prevent this from happening to you, listen to our recommendations.

Firstly, first the herb made by your own hands should be placed in a container of water: a saucepan or basin. It is better to use settled water at room temperature. The duration of the herbalist's stay in the water should be at least two hours, and preferably about five hours.

Secondly, after “bathing” the toy must be taken out and placed in a place well lit by sunlight. A southern or western window sill is optimal for such purposes. Usually after 4-7 days the first shoots will appear on the surface of the souvenir. The herb should be watered from time to time. Regarding how to water the herb, this should be done systematically, at equal intervals.

A more difficult task is to grow.

Brief summary

The subject of the study is “Travyanchik” - a souvenir made in the form of figures of animals, birds, flowers, characters from fairy tales and cartoons. The authors of this work are looking for an answer to the question “How to make a “Travyanchik” yourself?” The study also touched upon the problem of landscaping apartments in winter.

Finding a solution to the problem is to create your own “Travyanchik”.

The work is of interest to children and adults and contains information and a description of the work on creating the “Travyanchik”, gives everyone the opportunity to acquire their own “Travyanchik”, and thereby green their room in the conditions of the long Ural winter.

Introduction

The authors of this work are Kozhevnikova Irina and Popov Vitaly, we are 15 and 14 years old. We live in the Elovsky district. We study in the 8th “b” class “Special Child” at the Bryukhov Secondary School. In 2012, our school hosted a traditional event - the Harvest Festival. Each class had to prepare crafts from vegetables and fruits. For a very long time the class could not decide on a craft, because the event takes place every year and the imagination was at zero. And suddenly we saw a toy on the Internet - a souvenir. We got interested and started looking at the pictures and descriptions. She has a lot of names - “Ekolyudik, Travyanchik, Ekolyubchik, Ecosavrik, Florik, Zhivchik..” Believe it or not, she has “living” hair. It turned out that this was the invention of gardening students from Indonesia. The uniqueness of the toy is that herbal “hair” can grow. It is made of simple material: lawn grass and sawdust. If you water it, the Travyanchik quickly grows overgrown with grass “hairs”. We quickly found a master class on making Travianchik on the Internet and made 3 Travianchik. Unfortunately, we do not have any photos of the first Travyanchiks. But the children of our school, Bryukhovskaya secondary school, kindergarten (we all study in the same building), were surprised and interested in Travyanchik. And when the first herbal “hairs” appeared on it, interest increased even more. In the competition, our class received a Certificate of Excellence for Originality. 2013 has been declared the Year of Ecology. We decided to continue the work of creating the Travyanchik with our own hands. After all, Travyanchik is an environmentally friendly toy, and even made with your own hands, it’s so cool. This is how the idea for the project came about.

Hypothesis : Currently, in any flower shop you can buy a toy - a souvenir Travyanchik. This original souvenir is easy to use, interesting and affordable. Is it possible to do it yourself?

Novelty of the work : For the first time, Travyanchik was made by hand and grown in the classroom.

Research methods : literature review,

comparative analysis,

experiment,

observation.

Relevance of the work is that, according to a survey conducted among 20 students and adults from 2 schools, only 2 people had heard about Travyanchik and no one grew it. In this regard, the topic of this research can be considered relevant.

Object of study is the literature about the “Travyanchik” and its production in different forms.

Subject of study– toy – homemade souvenir “Travyanchik”.

Tasks:

1. Studying the history of the appearance of “Travyanchiki”;

2. Mastering various methods of manufacturing a product through the use of various materials;

3. Development of a sense of responsibility for growing a toy;

4. Development of the ability to work independently when caring for the “Travyanchik”.

Goal of the work:

1.Study theoretical material on this topic.

2.Grow a toy in class conditions - a homemade “Travyanchik” and a store-bought version of “Travyanchik”.

3. Make practical tips and recommendations for its owners.

Expected results: possession of information about the “Travyanchik”, the ability to make it from materials using various techniques.

The study will answer a number of questions. questions:

    What types of “Travyanchiki” exist?

    What material to choose for making “Travyanchik”?

    Which seeds to choose for our “Travyanchik”?

    What soil should I choose for our “Travyanchik”?

    What shape should we give our “Travyanchik”?

    What colors should I use to paint “Travianchik”?

    How to care for our “Travyanchik”?

However, the main question is: HOW to make a toy - a souvenir “Travyanchik”?

A plan was drawn up for the work:

Processing information, highlighting the most significant;

Comparison with various sources of information;

Conducting a survey among children and adults;

Conducting an experiment;

Conducting the practical part of the study;

Processing the collected material, adding your own observations;

Conclusion;

Conclusions and offers.

1. Organizational stage

So, our task is to find out: HOW to make a toy - a souvenir Travyanchik? Together with the head, we developed a questionnaire for adults and children of two schools. They answered the questions:

Questionnaire “What do I know about Travyanchiki”

I know

Don't know

1.What is Travyanchik?

2.What do you know about them?

3.Have you seen Travyanchik?

4.What types of Travyanchiki are there?

5.Where can I buy them?

6. How much does Travyanchik cost?

7.What materials is Travyanchik made from?

8.What is Travyanchik needed for?

9. Would you like to receive a Travyanchik as a gift?

20 people took part in the survey. The age of the participants is from 8 to 50 years.

From the results of the survey, we learned that almost no one knows (with the exception of the children in our class) that there is a toy - a souvenir “Travianchik”. Although, according to the Internet, this is a fairly common educational toy in the world and in Russia.

From the literature we learned that Travyanchik, the toy is the symbol of the year 2012. This indicates its popularity.

Thus, we determined for ourselves that during the study we want:

learn how to make Travyanchik with your own hands;

learn to conduct research;

attract the attention of students and adults of the Bryukhovskaya Secondary School of 8th type and the Bryukhovskaya General Educational School to the toy - souvenir Travyanchik and teach them to decorate rooms with the help of this toy.

2.Search stage.

While working on a research project, we visited the library, went to Internet sites, and asked our teacher’s daughter to buy us 3 Travyanchiki in Perm. To first grow a store-bought Travyanchik in the class, and then make a toy – a souvenir – and grow it in the class.

Library

While working on a research project, we visited the library and went to Internet sites.

Library

After talking with the librarian, we found out that there was no material about Travyanchik.

Internet

From the Internet we learned a lot of interesting things about Travyanchik.

It turned out,What dA horticulture student from Indonesia has launched an environmentally friendly toy for children. They hired workers and set up a small production workshop. An average of 130-150 pupae are made per day. The uniqueness of the toy is that such a doll can grow hair. It is made exclusively from environmentally friendly raw materials - the doll is stuffed with lawn grass seeds. If you water it and provide it with enough light, the toy will grow grass “hairs”. The educational toy is very popular not only in Indonesia.

7

Every third herbal Manufacturers sell the doll via the Internet. Its cost is two dollars -80 rubles.

As we found out: in the Perm region and Yelovo, the price of Travyanchik ranges from 180 rubles to 250 rubles.

Travyanchiki appeared in Yelovo in 2013. And they are sold only in one store, “Flowers,” at a price of 180 rubles.

These toys are a very simple, and at the same time effective design. Ordinary lawn grass seeds with soil or sawdust are poured into an ordinary bag made of porous, perforated material (nylon or nylon stockings are ideal). The bag is used to create some kind of (usually animated) toy painted with acrylic paints.

All that remains is to water it, and literally on the fourth or fifth, green spring grass breaks through in the place where the animal’s hair should be. It can grow for a very long time, you just need to remember to water it from time to time. That's all. A full-fledged spring mood is ensured for the whole family and the whole house, even in the cold winter. Not to mention the joy of a domestic cat, which, no, no, will pinch a blade of grass or another, replenishing the winter lack of vitamins in the body.

The fascination with the new toy sparked a flurry of publications on the RuNet. People post their creations on websites and blogs, talk about the technology of their manufacture, share, so to speak, the secrets of their craft... They create entire galleriesgrass photos . There are even collectors of photographs of already germinated Travyanchikov.

8

The souvenir industry is also not far behind. Question: “” doesn’t even arise. In almost all flower shops you can find a department that offers a wonderful assortment of funny toys - animals. All that remains is to choose, place it in some plastic container... And that’s it, a magnificent, truly ideal gift is ready. “..And believe me, in the house where you brought Travyanchik as a gift, you will be remembered for a long time

for a long time... Every time they water the toy or trim its grown “hair”” (Travianchik lovers share).

However, there is another direction in the general, universal hobby for herbalists. Some fans of the unusual toy claim that instead of,It is advisable (and even necessary) to make it yourself. The effect, you see, is completely different than when you give something purchased from a store. And if the manufacturer has at least the minimum rudiments of an artist’s talent, then it is even possible to give the toy, for example, a resemblance to the hero of the day.

Can you imagine what the effect will be when a figurine of the hero of the day is given for his birthday, who, moreover, will grow hair, or, say, a beard (if any)? In a word - complete freedom for creativity and imagination in a small rag bag filled with earth and seeds...

3.Experiment No. 1

Growing store-bought herbal grass

To begin with, we took 2 store-bought Herbs - a Frog and a Turtle and, after carefully studying the instructions on the packaging, we started experiments.

Instructions for use:
1. Completely immerse the souvenir in warm water for 3 hours to soak.
2. After moistening, place in a warm, moderately lit place (but not in the direct rays of the summer sun!).
3. It is advisable to water it daily, without allowing it to dry out completely, as an option: this can be done by completely immersing it in water for 15 minutes.
4. You can cut the grass when you reach a height of 7-10 cm.

It was determined that the Turtle and the Frog were made by the same company. They are painted with the same acrylic paint and have the same fillers: sawdust and lawn grass.

First, we poured warm water into a saucepan and placed the Travyanchikovs in it for 3 hours.

After 3 hours, they took it out and put it on trays - plates, after pouring a little water into the trays. The herbs were placed on the window. The classroom is very warm, the windows face the sunny side.

We started observing. The kids from our school are watching the experiment with interest. They observe and ask us questions. And the 4th grade guys from the Bryukhovskaya secondary school (our neighbors from the 2nd floor) came to look at the Travyanchikovs and were very surprised that they could be made with their own hands. We invited them to practical work on making Travyanchiki. We were very pleased! Let's see what happens.

The results of the study were recorded in a table. First, we filled out the data in the left column about the store Travyanchik. Later, we filled out the right column with information about the cool Travyanchik (made with our own hands). (see below).

The experiment was launched on March 12. 6 days later, on March 18, the first blades of grass appeared near the Travyanchiks.

The turtle has 17 blades of grass, and the frog has 16. The shoots of both are uniform and dense.

On March 27 (15 days later) the grass of our Travyanchiks grew to 7 cm. We monitor and care for our pets.

April 2 - we measure the grass again. Frog – 11cm. Turtle – 9cm.

On this day I got a haircut. The grass was given to children's homes for cats.

It turns out that it is not at all easy to grow yourself a green Friend.

Every day we checked the moisture, added water to the trays, sprayed

Travyanchikov with water. When it was hot on the window, we had to put Travyanchikov on the table.

Conclusion: the experiment was a success. We were able to grow a store-bought Travyanchik in the classroom and interest many children and adults in this toy - a souvenir.

4.Experiment No. 2

Workshop

Do-it-yourself herbalist

Having worked through the material for making the Travyanchik, we started making it. It turned out that The technology for making Travyanchik is quite simple.

To make the product we will need: nylon stocking, threads, sawdust, lawn grass seeds, brush, acrylic paints, eyes, noses.

Instructions for making your own Travyanchik And:

    Place lawn grass seeds on the bottom and spread evenly over the bottom.

    Place sawdust on top.

    Form cones and tie them with threads.

    Pour in sawdust to form the entire body of our “Travyanchik”.

    Add seeds with a spoon to the place where they are missing.

    Tie the resulting product with threads.

    Form the legs of the product.

    Color the product.

    After drying, glue the eyes.

    Improve the product.

On April 2 we made our Travyanchik. It turns out that this is a very interesting activity - making such a toy with your own hands. More and more guys are becoming observers of our work. I had to conduct a Master class for children from the 4th grade of the Bryukhov secondary school. The guys made three Travyanchikas and took them home to watch them. And we, using the knowledge gained. during Experiment No. 1 they began to germinate it.

On April 8, 56 blades of grass were counted near our Kapitoshi. Kapitosha began to grow.

On April 8, we plant 2 more Travyanchiki: Kolobok and Gnome, made by ourselves and watch them. After 8 days (April 16), our grass plants turned green. The height of the grass is 2-3cm.

As a result, we made 16 Travyanchikov.

We made a gift for a kindergarten, they have a “garden on the window” where children grow greens and our Travyanchik fits beautifully into their interior.

6.Our advice

While making the homemade toy Travyanchik with their own hands, they noted that it is better to use sawdust rather than soil to stuff the Travyanchik. Because soil is more difficult to work with, not everyone has it, especially in winter. From observations when growing Travyanchik, we learned that the most time is spent on germinating seeds (from 4 to 6 days), but after 10 days the seedlings quickly stretched towards the light and had to be trimmed. Nylon stockings, socks, etc. are better suited for stuffing. use women's colored socks, but not very thick ones. Otherwise, the lawn grass will have a very difficult and long time to break through the dense fabric. For comparison, you can use tights and stockings of different colors. For painting use only acrylic paints. Watercolor paints in water will flow and ruin the craft. You need to stuff the stocking tightly with sawdust, tamping it down, but be careful, the stocking can give a arrow. This happened to us. It is better to glue the eyes and noses with a glue gun, it is stronger and more reliable. Definitely on a dry toy. It is best to make constrictions for arms, legs, and nose by cutting thin strips from nylon. It turned out to be very convenient and reliable.

This instruction is suitable for making any Herbal Chips that our imagination is rich in.

7. Cost of our Travyanchiki

Calculation of the cost of a toy - homemade by Travyanchik.

To make Travyanchiki, the following materials were purchased:

1. acrylic paints - 170 rubles (set of 6 colors)

2. eyes and noses – 10 rubles per pair and 10 rubles (nose)

3.lawn grass – 170 rubles.

As a result, 16 Travyanchik toys were made.

It took them:

Eyes – 16 pairs * 10 rubles = 160 rubles;

Lawn grass - 170 rubles (we stuffed a lot);

Acrylic paints -170 rubles (lots left);

Noses -10 pieces * 7 rubles = 70 rubles

TOTAL: 570 rubles: 16 toys = 36 rubles for 1 toy.

8. Conclusion.

In the course of our work, we proved that our hypothesis is correct.

While working on a research project, we learned how to make a “Grassman” toy at home and monitor it for a long time.

Thanks to experiments, we managed to create a souvenir - a toy “Grassman”.

The presentation on this project and the presentation of a sample product aroused great interest among children and adults. Our work was highly appreciated by them.

The guys became fascinated by the idea of creating such souvenir toys and, having received the “Travyanchik” booklet with a description of how to make a “Travianchik”, decided to make such a toy for themselves.

Our herbalists

:// Travyanchik - a toy from which grass grows

Many housewives have plants in their homes that require care and constant supervision. Women devote a lot of time to plants and set an example for the younger inhabitants of the house. Children very often strive to repeat everything after their parents and it is in this case that they may demand their own plant. What is better to entrust to a child so that he can fully cope with his responsibilities and, without making much effort, notice the fruits of his labor in a short time? There is an answer, and the best plant for a child will be a herbal plant that is made in the form of a toy.

What you need for making:
1. Unnecessary stocking
2. River sand or wood sawdust
3. Glue that is not afraid of moisture
4. Scissors
5. Disposable plate
6. Tube made of cardboard
7. Material for creating the face of the toy
8. Lawn grass seeds

Process
Measure and cut the stocking so that it is approximately 25cm long. The space used for the foot should be cut off as it is dense and may have a negative effect on grass germination. After the stocking is ready, it is tied tightly at one end.

A cardboard tube is inserted into the stocking, which will later allow you to easily place soil and seeds into the space of the product.

Place lawn grass seeds at the bottom of the space and cover with the required amount of soil. During this action, great attention should be paid to ensuring that the seeds are located exactly on the upper part of the head of the toy being created, so sow the grass with extreme caution.
The space of the stocking is filled with soil or sawdust until a round shape is formed, which should visually resemble a human head. When the desired shape is obtained, the stocking is tied tightly, and all excess is cut off using scissors.

The preparation of the functional toy is completed and it’s time to decorate it. Turn the product over with the seeds facing up and start decorating it. Using a material that is not afraid of moisture, create eyes, a mouth, ears, and a nose for the grasshopper and glue it to the base of the toy with glue.

Place the finished product in a disposable plate and wet it with a small amount of water. The plate that serves as a stand for the toy must always contain water so that the herb has the opportunity for full growth.

The toy is almost ready; all you have to do is put it on the windowsill and water it daily, which your child can easily handle. Over the course of 3-5 days, the toy will begin to produce its herbal hair, and the youngest inhabitant of the house will be able to feel like a hairdresser creating a hairstyle for his new friend.

Travyanchik is a bright children's toy with a lush head of a living plant. It is also called ecolive, ecoludic or florik. Grasshoppers come in a variety of sizes, shapes and even colors. Most often these are cute animals or funny fairy-tale characters. They are made from nylon, sawdust and lawn grass seeds. They will be an excellent decoration for a child's room and an educational toy at the same time. Grasshoppers come in a variety of sizes, on average ten to twenty centimeters, but you can find a giant up to forty centimeters in size. Small herbal flowers decorate the shelves and window sills of the house, and large ones can be used to decorate a flower bed, garden or cottage.

Grasshopper care

But now you brought home a little herb. How to care for it? Caring for this toy is simple and accessible even to small children. Soak it for an hour in warm water, and then place it on a tray or saucer in a warm, bright place, but make sure that there are no hot heating devices nearby. The first blades of grass will appear in about four days, and after two weeks the grass will be long enough to start doing different hairstyles. You need to water it every day, and once a week - completely immerse it in water for fifteen minutes, sometimes adding liquid fertilizer to it. If the room is dry, you need to spray the herbalist with a spray bottle.

Herbalists “live” from several months to a year. This depends on the set of seeds that was used to create the toy. In addition, to extend its lifespan, do not forget to feed it with flower fertilizers from time to time.

When purchasing a toy, pay attention to the release date. The shelf life of an unused herb is two years, then the grass seeds lose their viability, and the toy’s hair may not be so lush.

If a cat gets to the weed sitting on your windowsill and thins out its hair a little, don’t worry, this weed will not harm the furry weed. On the contrary, it will only benefit him. Some pet stores sell these herbs just for cats.

The herbal teapot will be a good gift not only for a child, but also for some adults for almost any occasion. A herbal toy is an ideal option to teach your child how to care for indoor plants. He is funny, grows quickly and is very unpretentious.

You can do it in the store or order it online. In the catalog of the Sphagnum Moss online store you will find wonderful herbal animals that will bring joy to your home!

This master class is intended for teachers and parents.

The presented work is a unique ecological toy, made by hand. Its highlight is that you water it with water and after a while, juicy, tender, thick grass begins to grow from its head, creating a very cool head of hair. It will be interesting for both you and your children to watch the process. After the grasshopper’s “hair” has grown a little, you can use it to create hairstyles, carefully trimming the grass the way you like best. Later it will definitely grow again. Moreover, green grass can be used to feed animals in this corner of nature.

Purpose of this craft: This toy will not only decorate your home and bring joy, but also benefit those who have pets.

The purpose of the master class: dissemination and transfer of pedagogical experience, training in techniques for making an original toy - a herbalist.

Tasks:

Improving the professional skills of teachers;

Introducing teachers and parents to the techniques of making grass.

Progress:

“Tell me - I will forget,

Show me - I'll remember

Let me do this

And it will be mine forever.”

A person is always drawn to something new, unknown, and in everyday life, among the gray everyday life, we are looking for joy and celebration. I'm not an exception. I suggest you try it too! In honor of the first month of summer, let's make a unique environmental toy. I present to your attention a master class on making herbs!

To make a grasshopper we will need:

2. Cereal seeds (barley, wheat) or lawn grass seeds.

4. Scissors.

6. Acrylic paints

7. Pieces of colored self-adhesive wallpaper

Step-by-step process for making herbal tea

Step 1. Let's start making our herb. First we will make the body. Cut off part of the stocking or tights as shown in the photo. For tightening, prepare small pieces of the same nylon. Tighten the end of the stocking with a piece of nylon.

Step 2. Turn our base inside out so that the tail goes inside.

Step 3. Now take a tablespoon and add the seeds. Distribute the seeds in the place where you plan for your grass to grow.

Step 4. Now we fill the stocking with sawdust. We put more sawdust, we are not afraid to crush it so that more can fit.

Step 5. These are the heavy bags we got.

Step 6. When there is enough sawdust, we tie the tip of the stocking with a nylon trim and cut off the excess with scissors.

Step 7. Now we begin to shape the future herbalist. It depends on your imagination. We separated a small amount of sawdust, made, for example, a spout, tied it, tightened it with trim and cut off the excess. And so whatever you want: noses, ears, paws...

Step 8. This is what I ended up with.

Step 9. We bring our babies to life. Glue the eyes, nose, and mouth with “Master” glue. I cut them out of self-adhesive wallpaper. In general, eyes are sold directly in sets in stationery. If desired, paint the grasshopper with acrylic paints.

Step 10. Our herbalist is ready!

Step 11. Now you need to soak the grasshopper in water for 1 hour so that it absorbs the water.

Step 12. Place the herb in a warm and bright place and water it every day so that it is constantly moist.

Step 13 We made herbal teas with the children in kindergarten on Friday evening, so, fearing that they might dry out over the weekend, I put them in a plate and covered them with a bag. You don’t have to do this at home, just water it regularly
