But I didn’t realize that bananas can not only be eaten just like that, but also baked in puff pastry... until I found this wonderful recipe! Cooking takes about 10 minutes, if not in a hurry, trying to make it come out beautifully. Bake for a little less than half an hour. And you have delicious pastries ready for dinner, afternoon tea, and breakfast for your family - flaky, golden, with a delicate fruit filling!

I came across a recipe for this quick, beautiful and tasty delicacy on Tanyusha’s website Finecooking.ru. Sincere thanks to the author for the great idea!

As usual, I added something of my own to the recipe, namely frozen cherries. We got three types: banana puffs, a couple with dark chocolate, and banana-cherry ones. Each type is delicious in its own way! This time I did it with ready-made dough. You can also see how to make homemade puff pastry on my website.

Ingredients:

For 8 pieces:

  • 500 g yeast-free puff pastry;
  • 2 bananas;
  • 50 g dark chocolate;
  • 1 egg;
  • optional - a couple of dozen pitted cherries.

We also need pastry parchment, a little vegetable oil for greasing it, a regular knife and one for cutting the dough into shapes, a fork and a silicone brush.

How to bake:

Take the puff pastry out of the freezer in advance and let it rest at room temperature for half an hour. You cannot defrost it in the microwave. Let it slowly thaw on its own. In the meantime, we’ll wash the bananas - so what, since they’re in the skin, it’s more hygienic. And be sure to wash the egg with soap and dry the shell.

When the puff pastry becomes soft, roll it out lightly on a table sprinkled with flour. Roll out widthwise, in one direction.

Then cut the strip of dough into 4 equal parts.

We will make curly cuts with a knife up to half of these rectangles. You can do it in a checkerboard pattern, diagonally or straight - you will get different, but all beautiful, puff pastries!

We cut the bananas into slices 3-4 mm thick and place 5-6 slices on the entire sides of the blanks.

Now you can sprinkle with chocolate pieces...

Or add a few cherries. Frozen ones should be thawed in advance so that the juice drains from them.

Take an egg and separate the yolk from the white. Dipping a brush into the egg white, lightly grease the edges of the pieces and cover the part of the puff pastry with the filling with the top, curly side. Thanks to the protein, the edges stick together better.

And then we’ll go around the edges with a fork, as in the recipe for strawberry pies: it will turn out both stronger (the cherry juice won’t run off) and more beautiful!

It's time to turn on the oven, let it warm up to 220C.

Place the formed puff pastries on a baking sheet lined with oiled parchment.

And using a brush, brush with beaten yolk. If the yolk is thick and difficult to lubricate, you can add a little lek or milk to it, from half a teaspoon.

Place the baking sheet with the puff pastries in the oven and bake at 220-230C on medium level for 25-30 minutes. It should be remembered that baking time is individual for each oven, so look at the appearance of the puff pastries. Don’t worry that it’s so hot in the oven, the puff pastry just needs a high baking temperature so that it exfoliates well and turns out golden. If you, like me, have a lower heat in the oven, you can move the baking sheet higher when it’s ready, and place a heat-resistant dish with water on the bottom of the oven. Then the bottom crust does not burn, but the top crust turns brown, and the baked goods turn out beautiful and soft.

Transfer the finished puff pastries to a plate and wait until they cool slightly.

Let's treat ourselves to delicious, aromatic, tender banana puffs!

Brew a cup of tea and enjoy!

Banana is one of the first fruits that children try. It does not cause allergies and has many benefits. Using this product you can bake incredibly light and airy puff pastries. In addition, the fruit is easily combined with other ingredients, and the benefits of such baking are double. Just half an hour - and you can eat this delicious delicacy with tea or take it with you on the road!

  3. Cut the layer into squares, usually about twelve squares;
  4. Place a few banana slices on one of them. It should be placed on one edge and can be layered. And then wrap the second part and secure the edges tightly on all three sides with your fingers;
  5. Repeat the process with all the squares and place the raw puff pastries on a baking sheet with a little butter;
  6. Send to bake at 200 Celsius, it takes about twenty minutes. The crust will turn golden.

  5. Cut the peeled banana into circles or small pieces, distribute them equally over all six squares. Place in the center of the side where there are no cuts;
  6. Beat an egg into a glass or bowl and brush the edges of all puff pastries with the egg white;
  7. Chop the milk chocolate pieces with a knife and sprinkle the crumbs on top of the fruit;
  8. Cover the fruit with the second part of the square and pinch it first with your fingers, and then press it down nicely with a fork: it’s both safer and more beautiful. Walk along all three sides;

Calories: 247.

  2. Remove the peel from the banana and then cut it into halves;

Puff pastry with cottage cheese and banana

  • 1 yolk;
  • 180 g cottage cheese;
  • 480 g puff pastry;
  • 90 g sugar;
  • 40 g raisins;
  • 1 banana;
  • 1 egg.

Cooking time: 40 min.

Calories: 289.

Baking principle:

  1. The defrosted dough must be divided into equal squares, and then each of them should be rolled out a little;
  2. Place cottage cheese, sugar, one egg and peeled banana into a blender. Beat everything into a homogeneous mass. Instead of a blender, you can simply grind the cottage cheese and banana through a sieve, then add the egg and sugar and mix everything vigorously so that the grains dissolve and there are no whole pieces of fruit;
  3. Soak the raisins for ten minutes in warm water and then stir into the banana-curd mixture. This item can be skipped if there are no raisins;
  4. Place a spoon or two of filling in the center of each square. And then fasten all four corners in the center above the filling to make a real analogue of an envelope;
  5. Grease each envelope or house with yolk and place on a baking sheet;
  6. Place in the oven and bake for at least ten minutes, but no more than twenty. The temperature is enough 180 Celsius.

Of course, you can use homemade puff pastry. It shouldn't be yeasty. However, this approach requires much more time and not everyone succeeds the first time.

But when working with such a test, no matter whether homemade or purchased, it is worth remembering that it is advisable to work with it quickly. Once defrosted, use immediately to prevent it from sticking. The frozen dough envelope also needs to be taken apart as quickly as possible to prevent the sides from sticking together. It's quite difficult to roll them out.

It is important to remember that this type of dough requires high oven temperatures. If the heating is insufficient, it will delaminate and fall apart, and the entire neat appearance of the puffs will be lost. But it’s very easy to work with the filling: it can be anything, as long as it’s not liquid.

The variations on the puff pastry theme are endless. Bananas are available on shelves all year round, so baking with them is easy in any season. It's satisfying and fast!

Puff pastries with banana and chocolate - how to cook correctly

Everyone is delighted with puff pastries with apples, pears, apricots or other fruits and berries, but have you tried puff pastries with chocolate and banana?

This dish is suitable for those who want to enjoy something tasty and not very healthy for their figure. The dessert doesn’t take much time to prepare, but it tastes just as good as something you spend hours making.

Ingredients

  • puff pastry (400 g);
  • bananas (2 pcs.);
  • chocolate (40 g) - it is better to take milk chocolate, but if you are delighted with bitter, take it;
  • chicken egg (1 pc.).

Recipe

  1. Turn the oven on to 230 degrees immediately to warm it up while you prepare the puff pastries. Next, sprinkle the table and the dough itself (prepared using store-bought dough) with a small amount of flour so that nothing sticks. Roll out the puff pastry until it forms a rectangle, then trim off the excess.
  2. Cut the bananas into thin slices and set aside so as not to interfere.
  3. Back to the test again. Cut it into several equal rectangular pieces (according to the number of buns).
  4. Using a kitchen knife or fork (we recommend using a pizza cutter), make small cuts on one side of each piece to allow steam to escape. Decorate the puff pastry with banana and chocolate. You can add chocolate in pieces to make more filling.
  5. Brush the edges of the dough with egg white to help the dough come together smoothly. Place the free half on top of the filling and press down so that the chocolate does not leak out during baking.
  6. Place the resulting puff pastries on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. If the dough sticks to it too much, grease the paper with oil. Brush the puff pastries themselves with egg yolk. This will give them a more golden hue.
  7. The buns are baked for about 20–30 minutes. The temperature should not be increased or decreased, as eventually the dough will stop flaking. Be careful not to burn anything.
  8. Place the cooked pies on a large plate and let cool slightly, and then you can enjoy the taste.

Banana is a very sweet fruit. Cherry, on the contrary, has some sourness. When you combine these two products, you get an unbeatable taste! Below is a fairly easy recipe. Preparing the dish takes 10 minutes, baking for another 30 minutes. As a result, you will get a wonderful snack for tea.

We will need

  • yeast-free puff pastry (400 g);
  • bananas (2 pcs.) and cherries (a couple of dozen berries) - filling for puff pastry;
  • egg;
  • powdered sugar;
  • sugar (0.5 tbsp);
  • starch (2 tbsp.).

Recipe technology

  1. Remove all the pits from the cherries and pour them into a separate plate. Add starch, sugar and mix well.
  2. Cut the banana into thin slices. The main thing is not to overdo it with thickness.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry until it takes a rectangular shape. It is better to cut off the excess. You should sprinkle it and the table with flour so that nothing sticks to your hands and surface later.
  4. Cut the dough into equal sized squares. It all depends on the number of buns you want to get. In any case, you shouldn’t be greedy and make the pieces too small, otherwise all the filling will fall out.
  5. Make cuts on each triangular half of the square (it will be the top part). This is done so that steam can escape.
  6. Place banana slices and cherries on the second half.
  7. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with egg white (for a better connection) and fasten the opposite ends so that the bun takes on a triangular shape.
  8. Line the bottom of a baking tray with baking paper. If the dough sticks to it, grease the baking sheet with oil. Place the buns and be sure to brush them with egg white. Bake for 30 minutes at 230 degrees. This temperature is set so that the dough is browned and well layered. The crust will turn out golden.
  9. It is better to let the finished dessert cool, but if you do not want to do this, you can immediately serve it on the table and treat your family or friends.

Video of making puff pastry with banana and chocolate

Banana Chocolate Puffs are a little different. Nutella has a denser texture and a pleasant nutty smell. Of course, nothing prevents you from simply adding nuts, but for those who do not want to bother with them, this recipe is suitable. The dessert is quite simple to prepare, so even a beginner in cooking won’t be able to ruin these puff pastries.

Product composition

  • puff pastry (1 sheet);
  • Nutella chocolate spread (1 jar);
  • banana;
  • egg.

How to cook

  1. Cut the rectangular layer of dough into a number of equal-sized squares, but not too small so that there is enough space for the filling.
  2. Peel the banana and cut into slices. The size is chosen at your discretion, but you should not overdo it.
  3. Chocolate spread is placed in the middle of each square. Its quantity is to taste. Add a piece of banana to the pasta on top.
  4. Brush the edges of the dough with egg yolk (this will help them stick together better) and wrap it inside to form an envelope. Connect the ends tightly, without letting the puff pastry fall apart.
  5. Line a baking tray with baking paper and grease it with butter so that the buns do not stick to the bottom. They should be carefully laid out and brushed with egg white.
  6. Bake the puff pastries at 180 degrees for 15–20 minutes until they acquire a golden hue. The temperature can be increased slightly. Nothing critical will happen, just the dough will separate a little more.
  7. Place the puff pastry on a plate and let it cool before enjoying.

  1. If you have a desire, instead of puff pastry, you can make a puff pastry roll with banana and chocolate or any other filling. Everything is prepared using the same technology, but you don’t have to cut the dough.
  2. The finished puff pastries need to be cooled a little before eating, otherwise you can get seriously burned.
  3. Be sure to coat the edges of the puff pastry with egg yolk. This way they will be better bonded to each other.
  4. Set the oven temperature to no lower than 180 degrees, preferably higher. At high temperatures the dough flakes better.
  5. Use all the useful tips, and the dish will not only taste delicious, but also look beautiful.
