How much does a concrete block weigh 240 60 60. Weight of foundation blocks fbs. What are the types of blocks

Prefabricated block foundations appeared many decades ago. And to this day, many buildings stand on strip foundations assembled from concrete blocks. But not all builders consider them reliable: after all, they are not monolithic, and therefore they are less resistant to soil movements.

Monolithic foundations have a very high degree of reliability. But their creation is a very long and difficult process, it is required to install the formwork, make a reinforcing belt for several hundred knitting points, knead a large amount of mortar, and pour it. After waiting a few weeks for the aging of the solution, and only then continue construction work. Everything takes at least a month, and more often more - if everything is done by hand, without the involvement of outside workers.

To speed up the process and use ready-made foundation blocks. They are produced by many factories, they are of different types, geometries and dimensions. Some can only be worked with using construction equipment, while others - the smallest ones - can be worked manually.

When assembling, they are installed in a dug pit on a prepared pillow. Rows and elements in a row are connected using cement mortar, sometimes using reinforcing belts to increase reliability. It is possible to assemble a small base for a bathhouse, a small house or a garage even in one day. After that, it remains to carry out waterproofing and insulation work.

But due to the fact that the structure is not a monolith, it can only be installed on reliable, non-porous soils. If there is at least a minimal tendency to heaving, it is better not to install a prefabricated block foundation: when significant forces are applied to it, it will begin to “walk” and the building may collapse. However, on dry and rocky soils, this is one of the most accessible and quickly erected foundations. Now you know where you can put prefabricated block foundations.

What are the foundation blocks

First of all, let's talk about the materials from which the blocks for the foundation are made. It:

  • reinforced concrete;
  • expanded clay concrete;
  • silicate concrete of increased strength.

In the manufacture of reinforced concrete blocks, the solution is most often used grades M-150, M-100, M-200. Depending on this, the characteristics change, the price increases. If the building is supposed to be massive, large and heavy, blocks of the highest quality, with high strength, are needed;

Reinforced concrete blocks are and are called heavy: their mass is large due to the high density of the solution. Their weight, depending on the dimensions, can be from 300 kg to 2 tons. In order to be able to distinguish the type of block, when marking, they put the letter “T” at the end.

In the manufacture of expanded clay concrete, expanded clay is used as a filler. This composition is lighter, the mass of blocks is from 260 kg to 1.5 tons. When marking these products, the letter “L” is added at the end - light. They have better thermal insulation characteristics, the price is lower.

But unpleasant properties and features also appear: high hygroscopicity, as well as lower strength. To neutralize hygroscopicity, careful waterproofing and measures to divert water from the foundation will be required. But nothing can be done about strength: expanded clay concrete blocks can only be used on foundations for light buildings, for example, wooden baths or single garages.

In the manufacture of silicate concrete blocks, lime is used as the main binder. The solution turns out to be of medium severity, therefore these blocks are called light and are designated at the end with the letter "C". The mass of products manufactured according to the standards (minimum density 1800 kg / m 3) can be from 300 kg (the smallest) to 1.63 tons (the largest).

According to GOST, silicate concrete blocks are not used in conditions of high humidity. This means that they are not suitable for the foundation.

Characteristics

In addition to material, density, weight and price, there are many characteristics that you need to pay attention to. There are many more options to choose from.

Types and sizes

Foundation blocks have different shapes and profiles, in addition, different overall dimensions. Products of different shapes have different purposes and markings:

The letters that indicate the type of product are followed by a set of numbers. They display the dimensions of the blocks indicated in decimeters. The first number is the length, the second is the width, and the last is the height. For example, FBS-24-6-6 is a rectangular block, 240 cm long, 60 cm high and wide. The designation FL-6-12-3 stands for: trapezoidal block (pillow), 60 cm long, 120 cm wide and 30 cm high.

The use of all these blocks requires the use of cranes or at least a winch. But there are very small blocks, 20 * 20 * 40 cm in size. They are poured at the same factories into standard forms. When pouring, vibrocompression machines work, which increase the density of the solution. In this case, a mixture of Portland cement, sand and coarser aggregate is used. The filler can be gravel, and then the block is concrete, or expanded clay, and then it is, respectively, expanded clay concrete.

Small-sized concrete blocks are corpulent and hollow. Solid ones are used for laying the foundations of non-heavy buildings on reliable soils, hollow ones - for building walls. You can work with them without equipment: the mass does not exceed 40 kg. But when constructing such a foundation, it is necessary to create additional reinforcing belts. In some cases, a metal mesh is placed in each horizontal seam. And to increase the strength, you can also make a reinforcing belt of greater height. It all depends on the conditions on the site and the design of the building.

Frost resistance

This characteristic is important for most of the territories of our country. Any of the materials can withstand a certain number of cycles of freezing and thawing. To increase this indicator, various additives are added to the solution. It is clear that the more cycles a concrete block undergoes without destruction, the longer the foundation will serve.

FBS block size table

Media resistance

If there are acidic or alkaline soils on the site, it is necessary to choose the type of concrete accordingly. If we talk about the Moscow region, then most of the soils are acidic, therefore it is necessary to use blocks with crushed stone as a filler: it makes the products resistant to acid influences.

The acidity of the soil is determined using tests that can be purchased at a store selling agricultural equipment. They cost a penny, the method of application is written on the package, as well as the scale by which the condition of the soil is determined.

Cost and quality

It is possible to say exactly how much this or that foundation block costs only after calling several factories in your region. Prices differ significantly. Moreover, a solid difference can be even among manufacturers in the same region. It could be the brand of concrete. Here you already need to ask and compare. Do not be too lazy to get to each production and inspect, evaluate the blocks presented there, according to the following parameters:

  • Geometry. All blocks must be the same, the edges are even and clear. It is also desirable that the surfaces also have a minimum of flaws or no flaws at all.
  • The declared density can be compared at home (we are talking about small blocks of 20 * 20 * 40 cm). They need to be weighed, to compare the dimensions and weight. Calculate density. For expanded clay concrete, it should not be lower than 1800 kg / m 3, for concrete - not lower than 2000 kg / m 3. Only such can be used for foundations.
  • Then carry out a crash test: throw blocks from the same height onto a hard surface. In no case should they crumble, chips should be minimal.

These simple manipulations allow you to determine the quality of concrete blocks. Just do not forget which one belongs to which company (sign or number).

Block foundation

There are several types of foundations that can be built using concrete blocks. These are tape, pile and columnar. Technologies are not much different, but there are still some features.

from blocks

There can be several options for building a strip foundation from blocks:

Is it possible to make such foundations from blocks of 20 * 20 * 40 cm. If this is a small structure in weight, and the soils are suitable, then the answer is “yes”. In this case, a log house made of logs or timber will feel especially good. Due to the elasticity of the wood, possible movements will be compensated. In addition, this material is lightweight, and the strength of small blocks in size will be enough to support this weight.

If the soils have even the slightest hint of heaving, or the house will be heavy, whether it is possible to make a foundation from small blocks can only be said by specialists after surveying the site and calculations.

Using blocks for pile and column foundations

For use reinforced concrete products of different sections: round, square, polygonal. They deepen to strong layers of soil that can bear the weight of the house. The upper part of the piles is connected by a strip base, on which the walls will rest. This type of foundation is good on complex loose or highly heaving soils.

Column foundations have a similar geometry. Only the depth of their occurrence is much less. There are shallow-depth (above the freezing level) species and with a laying below the freezing level. Less depth is compensated by a larger base area: the pillars are usually wider. Here, as in the construction of a prefabricated strip foundation, options are possible:

Results

The correct use of concrete blocks for the construction of the foundation greatly speeds up the process. Cheaper or more expensive it will turn out, it is problematic to say. In some cases, it is cheaper, sometimes, due to the need for a long-term rental of a crane, it comes out more expensive. What is undeniable is that it is built much faster, and this is sometimes no less important than the cost.

Figure 1 - Appearance of FBS blocks

Solid foundation blocks (FBS) are reinforced concrete products, they are part of the foundation, which distribute the load on the foundation.

Blocks provide the ability to perform quick installation and are less affected by external factors compared to a monolithic foundation. Blocks for the foundation and walls have:

  • strength;
  • wear resistance;
  • long service life.

In order to learn in detail about the dimensions and weight of FBS blocks, learn to decipher the markings and understand how the foundation blocks are laid, we recommend that you read the publication in full or go to the section that interests you.

FBS are made in the form of a parallelepiped. For the manufacture can be used:

  • heavy concrete;
  • silicate concrete of medium density.

Concrete blocks are not reinforced. For the manufacture of concrete blocks for the foundation, various technologies are used, common are:

  • natural drying (100% strength achieved on day 28);
  • steaming (forced drying to get 100% strength in a short time. A block that is in the steaming chamber for a day acquires a strength of 70% or more).

The most important ingredient in the composition of the block is high-quality concrete. In the end part of the FBS, grooves are provided, which are filled with mortar during installation work.

Figure 2 - Form for pouring

The block manufacturing process is as follows:

  1. Prepare a mixture of concrete using cement, aggregate and water (the mortar is mixed with paddles).
  2. Load the mortar into the block mold (manually or with ).
  3. Seal the solution (used to seal the solution). The concrete compaction process takes several minutes.
  4. Take out the finished blocks after a day (the excavation occurs earlier, in the case of using hardening accelerators).

To prevent the block from drying out, cover it with plastic wrap and water it occasionally with water. This is necessary for a set of block strength.

Types and marking

Reinforced concrete products are manufactured in accordance with. They are:

  • FBS - solid;
  • FBP - hollow;
  • FBV - solid with a cutout (designed to pass communications under the ceiling and lay jumpers).

Figure 3 - Structure of the block marking symbol

For example, consider a block labeled FBS-12-Z-6t. When marking, decimeters are used, so the decoding of the marking is as follows: FBS is a solid block, 1180 mm long, 300 mm wide, 600 mm high, made of heavy concrete.

The letter designations at the end of the brand are deciphered:

  • t - heavy concrete;
  • p - on porous aggregates (expanded concrete);
  • c - dense silicate.

In addition to the marking, the block contains the stamps of the manufacturer (including the Quality Control Department). Pay attention to this when buying.

Step by step instructions for laying the foundation

To start laying concrete blocks for the foundation, dig a pit (trench). So that the installation does not cause inconvenience, it is important to find out the dimensions of the FBS blocks (table 1) and dig a wider trench. The bottom is cleared of rock, irregularities are smoothed out, the base is covered with sand. With sandy soil, this work is not advisable. In order for the laying of the foundation of concrete blocks to be successful, it is necessary to prepare the base.

Foundation preparation

Figure 5 - Concrete block foundation

For a sand base, you will need a timber beam, 50 - 100 mm in height. Make a mound of sand wider than the base of the foundation by 200 mm. After installing a wooden beam (be sure to check the evenness of the surface), moistened sand must be poured into the frame and compacted.

To increase the base area, the initial row is laid wider than the main part (you can use FL foundation slabs or fill the base with a monolithic one).

The gap between the laying of slabs can be up to 700 mm. Next, lay the first row of FBS in such a way that the seams located vertically are above the pillows.

Block stacking

To proceed with the installation of the foundation of the FBS blocks, you need to understand how to lay the blocks. Installation work begins with the markup. According to the drawing, stakes are installed, and a thread is pulled along them. To make laying the row easier, first arrange the blocks at the corners and intersections. Fill vertical seams with mortar or tamp as much as possible with earth. The space between the blocks that has arisen during laying is poured with concrete and leveled until a monolithic insert is obtained between the blocks.

The mortar layer between the top and bottom row must be at least 15 mm. Vertical seams are tied with a layer of concrete 250 - 600 mm. To strengthen the dressing between rows, use reinforcement. During masonry, do not forget to make a hole for sewer pipes.

Advice! When laying the foundation, use such types of concrete blocks for the foundation as FBS24.4.6-T. Their length will rationally distribute the load on the body of the plate, reduce the number of seams, and save time (choose the width and height at your discretion).

Sizes and prices

Depending on the size of FBS blocks, manufacturer and region, the price may vary.

For example, an FBS block with dimensions of 880 x 300 x 580 FSK "Tores" in the city of Ufa costs 655 rubles per unit, and the company "Stroykomplekt" in Moscow offers the same product for 843 rubles. per piece

Advice! During the purchase of concrete blocks, in addition to the price, ask the seller how many days the block gained strength.

Figure 6 - External view of the reinforced concrete product for the foundation 200 x 200 x 400

Foundation block 200 x 200 x 400, the price of which is 55 rubles. per piece, is not a kind of FBS blocks. It is made of concrete grade M100 and has a frost resistance index of F50. But due to its small size, experienced builders do not recommend using it at the base of the foundation.

The advantage of blocks for the foundation 200 x 200 x 400, the price of which is pleasing to the eye, is the possibility of laying the foundation in places inaccessible to the entrance of equipment. The weight of one block is within 30 - 35 kg, and for a one-story building (dacha, bathhouse, barn), concrete blocks for a foundation of this size are just right.

Conclusion

FBS blocks are popular among professional builders. There are many varieties of concrete blocks, the main indicator of the size of the FBS is the width (for the construction of the base, this indicator is important in the first place). Having learned to decipher the FBS brand, you can determine in a matter of seconds what size the concrete block is for the foundation, what concrete it is made of and whether it matches the price.

Building block production technologies are constantly being improved. As a result, they have new properties that expand the scope of their application, make their use more and more profitable. True, for this it is important to take into account a variety of parameters, including the weight of the building block.

Scope of blocks

Block structures can be divided into two large groups:

  • masonry (or wall);
  • foundation.

For the construction of internal walls, the lightest building block is often used. It is made from foam or aerated concrete, and also happens to be expanded clay concrete, wood concrete, porous ceramic.

Massive blocks are indispensable when laying the foundation of a building. Their strength and ability to withstand the most serious load largely determines the weight of the concrete block, as well as the composition of the material from which it is made.

The innovations introduced into production have made the quality of block foundations no worse than well-known monolithic ones. But at the same time, work is moving much faster, installation is simplified, and costs are reduced. In addition, they are suitable for use in different climatic zones and geological conditions.

In addition to foundations, concrete blocks have proven their effectiveness in the construction and installation of:

  • multi-storey buildings;
  • non-residential construction objects,
  • various fences,
  • various partitions and ceilings.

What are the blocks

At construction sites, 3 types of concrete blocks are actively used:

  • hollow;
  • solid with a cutout;
  • solid.

Hollow is the easiest block to build. Its standard weight is 14-17 kg. It is very cost-effective when laying walls. It is no coincidence that this technology is widespread in Europe and the USA. It attracts not only the ease of installation, but also the ability to fill the voids of the blocks with heat or sound insulation, as well as their flat outer surface, due to which the walls do not need plastering.

Solid foundation blocks with a cutout weigh 400-600 kg. Inside them there are special grooves in which the necessary communications are laid, which reduces the period of connecting the new building to heat and power networks, and water supply.

The most reliable and solid are solid foundation blocks, completely filled with concrete and reinforcement. Their weight directly depends on the size and can range from 300 kg to 2 tons. To find out exactly what is needed from this range for a particular object, the calculation of the weight of a concrete block helps.

Sometimes an amateur builder, who has conceived, for example, to build a country house with his own hands, does not know how to calculate the weight of a concrete block suitable for construction.

The basic indicators here are the dimensions of the structure and the weight of 1 m3 of concrete block. Multiplying the dimensions of each side together, we find out the volume of concrete in the block, and then multiply it by the weight of one cubic meter of concrete.

There is also an easier way. You can find out how much a concrete block weighs from the manufacturer or a representative of the selling company, and then decide on the number of blocks of a suitable type needed for construction.

The weight of foundation blocks plays an important role in construction. It determines how many elements are needed to make the foundation and whether the foundation can withstand the load placed on it. It is also the main parameter that is taken into account when choosing special equipment for the transportation and installation of FBS.

General characteristics

FBS are solid foundation blocks that are used when mounting base walls. They are presented in the form of parallelepipeds poured from concrete, the inner part of which has no voids. At the ends of each product there are grooves for connecting building elements to each other. Mounting loops are on the top surface.

They are made from heavy, expanded clay or dense silicate concrete grades. They have standard dimensions and weight according to GOST.

In the marking of these building elements, the dimensions are rounded to decimeters.

  • 100 - the length of the plate, equates to 100 cm;
  • 4 - the width of the product is 40 cm;
  • 3 - the height of the building element, respectively 30 cm.
  • L - the product is made of lightweight concrete.

The abbreviation denotes not only the dimensions, but also the type of mixture from which the blocks are made: "T" - from heavy concrete, "P" - from expanded clay, "C" - from silicate mortar.

Watch a video on how to fill a block into a special shape.

Depending on the brand of FBS, the weight of the product changes, which can be seen in Table 1.

Table 1. Block grades

The brand of the slab, the presence of reinforcement (to increase the bearing capacity of the building material), as well as the brand of concrete used for the manufacture of FBS, are selected at the stage of design work, depending on the load acting on the base under the base of the foundation.

How many products are needed for the construction of a foundation or walls is calculated depending on the load-bearing properties of the FBS and their geometric shape.

Why do you need to know the weight of the plates

The disadvantage of the blocks is that the process of their installation is quite complicated.

FBS is used for the installation of the foundation and the construction of walls. Their main advantage is that these structures are delivered to the construction site ready-made, so there is no need to waste time on achieving the desired strength with concrete. This greatly speeds up the work.

In the manufacture of these building elements, special technologies are used: drying or steaming products in the factory, this provides the blocks with a standard degree of hardness, frost resistance and compressive strength. To protect the plates from the aggressive action of atmospheric and groundwater, they are covered with a waterproofing layer based on bitumen.

The weight of the slabs depends on the size of the products and the brand of concrete used in their manufacture, plus the amount of reinforcement. It affects the quality and strength of the base. You can find it using the assortment.

Having determined how much the blocks weigh, builders can calculate how much equipment is needed for their delivery and installation, as well as calculate the load that the FBS foundation can withstand.

Of course, it is advisable to entrust the calculation of the foundation to professionals, but you can also use an online calculator for these purposes. To independently calculate the number of base blocks, you need to divide the volume of the foundation by the volume of one block. After that, select the dimensions of the FBS, which, when summed, are equal to the size of the foundation.

The brand of mortar from which the slab is made, as well as the presence of voids in it, reduces the permissible loads on this block. If all calculations are made correctly, then according to the results of construction work, the owners will receive a stable and durable foundation.

The dimensions of the slab, the brand of concrete also affect the mass of the block. Having learned how much the product weighs (by weighing this building element), you can calculate its density and compare it with the declared density of the plant. So you will be able to protect yourself from a fake.

It is preferable to buy certified products of well-known brands that have proven themselves in the construction market. If there is no quality certificate for building materials, it is better to refuse it, because it is not known what technical characteristics it has.

Blocks for the foundation FBS 24-6-4

The base, representing the reinforced concrete circuit, is considered not only the most reliable, but also the most versatile, as it is suitable for buildings of any type. There are several technologies for arranging the foundation tape, and in some cases it is advisable to mount not a monolith, but a block structure. The range of ready-made artificial stones is quite large, and it is not a problem to acquire the most suitable samples in terms of weight and size. In this article, we will consider the characteristics, specifics of the application and the estimated cost of reinforced concrete products often used in low-rise construction - FBS 2400x400x600.

  1. Marking
  2. Application

Specifications for wall foundation blocks (this is how the abbreviation FBS stands for) are described in detail in GOST No. 13579 of 1978. All such samples are divided into 3 types, depending on the specific application. For solid stones, the designation remains the same - FBS. If they have cutouts (which simplifies the laying of communication lines), then they are marked as FBV. Blocks with voids, characterized by reduced thermal conductivity and lower weight - FBP.

Main characteristics of FBS

Large sample sizes significantly increase the speed of assembly work. For example, building a foundation. If it is made monolithic (filled), then you will have to wait at least 4 weeks (depending on the construction conditions) until the concrete gains the proper strength. To equip a shallow-depth prefabricated tape, you will need only 16 pieces of the largest blocks in this group - FBS 24-6-6. They can be installed in 1 day. The bearing capacity is comparable to structures made of cast monolithic stone.

Flaws

  • Given the weight of one element, in the process of laying, special equipment is indispensable.
  • The need for subsequent sealing of the FBS tape. The joints between the foundation elements are not only “cold bridges”, but also liquid penetration channels.
  • The high price of the stone. On average, a monolithic tape costs ⅓ cheaper.

Before buying a product, you need to carefully look at its designation, especially at the last position of the marking. This largely depends on the specifics of the application.

1. By type of concrete

In parentheses is the average density of the stone in kg/m3.

  • T - heavy (2 400).
  • L - light (1 800).
  • C - dense silicate (2000).

There are foundation blocks on the market, for the manufacture of which claydite concrete is used. In their marking, in the last position, the symbol “c / b” or “P” (porous) is placed. Their cost and weight are less than those of analogues. For production, concrete grades M100 or M200 are used. In the first case, for example, for a heavy solution, the letter “t” is put in the designation, in the second - “2t”.

2. According to the specifics of the FBS reinforcing frame

  • Unstressed. The cost of this category is also somewhat lower.
  • Tense.

As a rule, steel grade A1 (or 111) is used to reinforce specimens 2400x400x600. They are most suitable for the installation of foundations.

Marking features

In the first position the name is FBS. The decoding of the block abbreviation has already been given. Next (from left to right):

  • length: according to GOST, all sample sizes are expressed not in the usual mm for us (2400x400x600), but in dm, and rounded up. In our case, the true length is 2380, in the notation it is 24. The same applies to the rest of the linear parameters;
  • width: 400 (4);
  • height: 580 (6);
  • type of concrete.

The last position is GOST for products (13579-78). Permissible deviation (error) in dimensions is no more than ± 20 mm.

Scope of application of foundation wall blocks

  • Arrangement of bases of tape and column type. Mainly for buildings in which a technological floor is provided. In this case, the blocks used for laying the foundation are the walls of the basement. If you need to increase the size of the sole of the support, then it is more advisable to use stones 24-6-6 (the largest of the entire group).
  • For the construction of unheated industrial buildings (as a rule, FBS 24-6-6).
  • Construction of artificial barriers, enclosing structures.
  • Flyovers, ramps that guide heavy equipment parking lots, and the like.

When buying blocks, you must familiarize yourself with the certificate for the products. The production of FBS is possible only in an industrial way, since the technology provides for the mandatory vibrocompression of the solution. It is better not to purchase "handicraft" stones, although they are much cheaper than factory ones.

Foundation blocks are mounted on 3 types of foundation.

  • Prefabricated strip foundation slabs These slabs are marked with the FL index and, together with wall blocks, are elements of a prefabricated foundation. Foundation slabs are laid on a flat compacted base with waterproofing.
  • Monolithic pillow under the foundationA concrete monolithic pillow with a thickness of at least 300 mm is made on the compacted soil surface with compacted sand or crushed stone. In the case of reinforcement, it performs the function of a stiffening belt. This pillow can be wider than the FBS blocks and serve as a strip foundation with broadening.
  • Crushed stone-sand baseFoundation blocks are mounted on a compacted layer of sand or crushed stone 8-10 cm thick. Before installation, the compacted surface is poured with bitumen for horizontal waterproofing of the block.

FBS are laid on a cement-sand mortar or concrete. Vertical joints are filled with concrete. For more reliable monolithic joints of the FSK, their ends are made with recesses for the installation of concrete locks. For the installation of FBS, a truck crane and a team of 5 people are required. This is for practical reasons, perhaps the technology of the process requires more workers. The fact is that for laying the foundation block, you need to make a voluminous bed of mortar or concrete. Even with a slight removal of the mixture from the installation site, this is hard work. Therefore, while 2 people and a crane are involved in the installation, 3 or more workers perform a layer of mortar or concrete under the next foundation block.

The seams between the blocks are made up to 40 mm wide. To ensure the device of seams, the length and height of the blocks is less than the design one by 20 mm. After assembling the foundation wall and embedding the locks, the foundation is vertically waterproofed from coating or gluing materials.

In addition to the assortment of materials for the construction of foundations for country houses, we have prefabricated floor slabs.

solid foundation block FBS 24.4.6-T is the most commonly used high-strength block-type building material. FBS is a rectangular solid block for a wide range of purposes. The classic FBS 24.4.6.T is made from a traditional material - heavy concrete of medium density of at least 2300 kg / m3. FBS concrete blocks are intended for the construction of foundations for low-rise buildings and the construction of basements of various depths, as well as technical underground facilities of any buildings. FBS is also often used for the construction of walls of unheated buildings and industrial structures. Concrete blocks of this type are often used in road construction as barriers, in industrial construction

Product marking

Accepted the following symbol foundation blocks FBS:

Designation of the type of foundation block, rounded value of the length, width, height of the reinforced concrete product, then the type of concrete is indicated.

  • FBS - solid foundation block;
  • the first digit is the length;
  • the second is the width;
  • the third is the height;
  • T - execution of heavy concrete.

Markings, date of manufacture and weight of products must be on the side of each block.

Product Features

FBS 24.4.6-T blocks are the main material for the strip foundation (reinforced concrete strip around the perimeter of the entire building, including center lines). Most often, strip foundations from FBS blocks are used in highly heaving and moisture-saturated soils. The blocks are characterized by low water absorption and resist the destructive effects of groundwater for a long time.

As mentioned above, the classic FBS 24.4.6.T block is made of heavy concrete. Such blocks are suitable in cases where they will be forced to withstand high loads from the walls of the building. The quality of strength and reliability, corrosion resistance of heavy concrete is unrivaled. Deformation characteristics and resistance to moisture make FBS blocks an ideal material for basement walls and other technical underground facilities. A block of heavy concrete does not crumble, does not rot, does not age, does not emit toxic substances

FBS have the form of a monolithic rectangular parallelepiped, 2380 mm long, 400 mm wide and 580 mm high. The mass of FBS made of heavy concrete is much larger than that of expanded clay concrete and other materials, and is 1300 kg. But a solid mass is determined by the durability, strength and stability of heavy concrete blocks.

Such blocks can be used when the design seismicity of the object is not more than 8 points. For light, non-buried strip foundations, blocks 400 mm wide are used, for more powerful and responsible foundations, blocks 500 mm and 600 mm wide are used for load-bearing walls of basements and basement floors. For non-load-bearing basement walls, blocks with a width of 400 mm, 300 mm are used.

Reinforcement of the FBS block is carried out in rare cases, because due to the material and design, they are without laying steel rods into the structure.

The versatility of FBS 24.4.6-T blocks is not only in a variety of shapes and sizes that allow the implementation of any engineering solution, but also in the fact that the blocks can be operated in various climatic conditions and under any soil. FBS blocks are one of the few reinforced concrete products that can withstand a very wide temperature range - from +50 to -70 C.

The production of fundamental concrete blocks is carried out in curing chambers, both outdoors and indoors.

The main requirements for FBS are the guarantee of their special strength, as well as compressive strength, since the main purpose of the foundation blocks is to withstand the enormous loads of the structure. When used in the production of high quality concrete, the foundation blocks are not subject to deformation, and are also characterized by increased frost resistance and water resistance, and are resistant to aggressive environments. All these qualities greatly expand the scope of FBS.

Product marking

Markings on the FBS foundation blocks must be applied to the side surface of the block.

For all products of fundamental blocks FBS 24.4.6.T is issued by the manufacturer technical certificate, where the following parameters are specified:

  • brand of concrete for frost resistance and water resistance;
  • brand of concrete for strength and its average density;
  • release strength of concrete and actual release density of concrete;
  • date of manufacture;
  • the number of reinforced concrete products;
  • indication of compliance with the state standard.
  • release strength of concrete and actual release density.

Product quality control

Even at the manufacturer of concrete foundation blocks, they undergo strict quality control, one of the steps of which is a check for deviation in geometry. Deviations in the dimensions of the foundation blocks should not exceed the following indicators: in length + 13 mm, in width and height ± 8 mm, in the dimensions of the cutouts ± 5 mm, and deviations from the straightness of the profile of the surfaces of the foundation block should not be more than 3 mm for the entire length and width block.

Cracks are not allowed in the concrete from which the blocks for the basement walls are made, with the exception of local surface shrinkage. And their width should not be more than 0.1 mm (for blocks of heavy and dense silicate concrete) and 0.2 mm (for FBS blocks of expanded clay concrete). The FBS 24.4.6-T block can have several types of concrete surface - for painting, ceramic tile finishing and non-finished non-facial surfaces.

Mounting

Installation of FBS foundation blocks can take place at the construction site if there are necessary mechanisms for this. Mounting loops made of smooth rod reinforcement may be installed at a distance of 300 mm from the ends of the block flush with its upper surface (in blocks of the FBS type 1180 and 2380 mm long). In the event that special gripping devices will be used during the installation of foundation blocks, then, by agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer, it is possible to manufacture blocks without mounting loops at all. Also, the mounting loops of the FBS concrete block must be cleaned of concrete deposits without fail, otherwise this can significantly complicate the installation process.

Storage and transportation

Blocks of FBS are strongly recommended to be stored in stacks, which are sorted by brands and lots and stacked tightly with each other. At the same time, the height of one stack of foundation blocks should not exceed 2.5 meters. The pads for the bottom row of FBS 24.4.6.T blocks (at least 30 mm thick) must lie on a dense, carefully leveled base.

Transportation of blocks for the foundation is possible only with reliable fastening in order to prevent their mixing and possible damage. The number of blocks during transportation depends on the carrying capacity of the vehicle. The height of the stack of FBS blocks is set depending on the carrying capacity and dimensions of the transport used.
