The purpose of this article is to introduce foreign language teachers to the structure and content of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in foreign languages“Teacher of the School of the Future”, conducted by the Moscow City Pedagogical University.
Due to the widespread introduction of unified state exams and the unification of the admission process to universities, it has become very difficult for graduates of secondary general education institutions who think outside the box to enter a prestigious university, since they often do not pass the Unified State Exam well enough due to their inability to cope with anxiety and emotions.
There is a great way to enter university without taking the Unified State Exam, which, unfortunately, is often forgotten. These are olympiads in academic subjects.
The first and main Olympiad for schoolchildren is all-Russian. To take part in the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, students must first win at their school, win at the district stage, and then win the regional stage. A diploma of a winner or prize-winner of the All-Russian Olympiad allows graduates to enter any university without exams in areas of training related to foreign languages.
Not every student is able to withstand such a test. There are no less interesting, but consisting of only two stages, university Olympiads in various academic subjects.
The Olympics movement began to actively develop in 2007, when the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation adopted the Law “On Approval of the Procedure for Conducting Olympiads for Schoolchildren.” The all-Russian public organization Russian Council of Rectors establishes the Russian Council of Olympiads for schoolchildren, which regulates and coordinates their conduct. The geography of the Olympiad participants is very extensive. In the 2011-2012 academic year, about 2,000 secondary school students from 59 regions of the Russian Federation took part in it, 92 schoolchildren became winners and prize-winners.
Structure of the Olympiad “Teacher of the School of the Future”
The Olympiad tasks are compiled taking into account all the requirements for the tasks of the All-Russian Olympiad in Foreign Languages, as well as in compliance with the structure of the tasks of the All-Russian Olympiad in Foreign Languages. Methodological commissions include university teachers who develop tasks for state final certifications in foreign languages (OGE (GIA) and Unified State Exam) and/or are members of methodological commissions for developing tasks for the All-Russian Olympiad in Foreign Languages.
The Olympiad consists of two stages: qualifying and final. The qualifying stage is remote and conducted online, that is, to complete tasks this stage For the Olympiad, you must have access to the Internet.

Qualifying stage of the Olympiad
The qualifying stage of the Olympiad in foreign languages “Teacher of the School of the Future” is remote. All interested students in grades 9-11 are allowed to participate in it, regardless of their level of foreign language proficiency. To complete the tasks of the correspondence round, participants must register on the university website http://www.mgpu.ru/.
To successfully complete the Olympiad tasks, you must make sure that the Internet connection is stable, since the test can only be completed online. It takes about two astronomical hours to complete.
The tasks of the distance tour in English, German and French are aimed at monitoring lexical-grammatical and spelling skills, knowledge of regional studies material and testing the understanding of written text.
The difficulty level of the qualifying stage materials is equal to level B1+ according to the Council of Europe scale. The maximum you can get in the qualifying round is 100 points.

The final stage of the Olympiad
At the final stage of the Olympiad “Teacher of the School of the Future”, which is held in 2 stages, the following competitive tests are taken:
Stage 1 - understanding of written speech (reading), lexical and grammatical testing, written speech (writing);

Unfortunately, I cannot evaluate the assignments, because... I don't speak German. But the child liked it and participated with pleasure. The impression of organizing the event was spoiled by the fact that the entire system froze 10 minutes before the end of the allotted time. My daughter was very worried that nothing was preserved. As a result, the assignments were accepted, but literally three points were missing from the prize. Perhaps, if not for this glitch in the system, we would have received our certificate. I sent a letter describing the problem and screenshots of the screens to feedback(as the organizers asked - to write reviews), but received nothing in response. I hope the problem was resolved. We will definitely participate next year!

"SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE FUTURE - 2017"
Students are allowed to participate starting from 5th grade.
But only students 8-11 grades will be able to go to face-to-face tour.
For students in grades 5-7, Internet participation is regarded as career guidance.
The “Teacher of the School of the Future” Olympiad has IIlevel in the list of Olympiads for schoolchildren that give advantages when entering universities.
Diplomas of winners and prize-winners allow you to enter many universities in the Olympiad profile - foreign languages, using additional benefits.
For participation in the Olympics you need to go through the correspondence round (Internet round), which will last until February 05, 2017
If you / your students registered on the Olympiad portal https://moodle.mgpu.ru/login/index.php last year, then you need to remember your username and password, log in to your Personal Area, acquainted with regulatory documents, watch the training materials and after all this start completing the tasks of the Internet qualifying stage.
If you / your students do not have a personal account on the portal https://moodle.mgpu.ru/login/index.php ¸ then registration will be required to participate in the qualifying Internet stage of the Olympiad. This procedure does not take much time: it is intuitive and extremely simple. When registering, each Olympiad participant comes up with his own original login and password and creates his own personal account on the system website distance learning MSPU. Next, the registered participant of the Olympiad must independently, but without providing any additional information, enroll in the course “Olympiad for schoolchildren in foreign languages “Teacher of the School of the Future”, which is located on the start page of the port https://moodle.mgpu.ru/login/index.php. Registration for the course is automatic. After this, the participant gets access to the materials of the Olympiad and will be able to familiarize himself with the rules and regulations of the Olympiad, complete the tasks of the qualifying stage of previous years, get acquainted with the news of the Olympiad, and also complete the tasks of the Internet qualifying stage of this year’s Olympiad online.
To complete the tasks of the Internet qualifying stage, you are given 1 (one!) attempt and 2 hours of time (plus or minus 15-30 minutes depending on the language). At the end of the test, the participant immediately sees the score he scored.
