The loud clap of the toilet lid is a fairly common phenomenon that creates not only a certain discomfort, but also reduces the life of plumbing. Sanitaryware only looks durable and indestructible. Ceramic products can withstand up to 500 kilograms, but they are not designed for shock loads.

To solve these problems, plumbing manufacturers equip their products with microlift covers. This non-separable device, which ensures smooth closing of the seat, sometimes fails. But it’s really possible to repair the toilet lid with a microlift yourself.

Microlift device

To fix the toilet lid microlift, you need to know what this device is, familiarize yourself with the principle of operation.

In fact, the microlift is a door closer and is called Soft Close in professional language, which means soft closing. The device performs 3 useful functions at once:

  • eliminates noise when closing the toilet lid;
  • prevents damage to plumbing;
  • prevents the spread of unpleasant odors throughout the apartment.

The design of the mechanism is quite simple. Microlift consists of elements:

  1. Spring - the degree of compression corresponds to the mass of the toilet lid.
  2. Hinges - provide free movement.
  3. Rod - sets the cover in motion.
  4. Bolts - fix the mechanism to the seat cover.

The principle of operation of the microlift is similar to that of a door closer: after lifting the seat cover, it smoothly lowers under its own weight. Thanks to this, the element does not fall onto the surface of the toilet with its entire mass, which eliminates the appearance of cracks on the ceramic surface.

The design of the toilet lid closer does not contain complex elements, but the mechanism may fail.

Self-repair is relevant only for simple structures. On the market there are automatic models of microlifts equipped with motion sensors. Such products not only lower, but also raise the lid when a person approaches. Do-it-yourself repair of such Soft Close systems is not carried out: certain knowledge is required here, so it is better to contact a service center.

Mounting Features

Installation of seat covers with a microlift does not cause difficulties: the installation scheme is similar to standard products. Before putting the structure with a closer, you need to remove the old seat and install a new one on the seat. Fastening is carried out with bolts, which are included in the basic package. The main thing is not to forget to add rubber washers to the bolts so that the plastic cover gently adheres to the ceramic surfaces.

The only difference is that Soft Close may require additional adjustment. This is done in situations where, after installation, the seat is skewed. Such moments are unacceptable and can lead to premature failure of the product.

The operation of the mechanism is adjusted until the fixing bolts are fully tightened. For this, special adjusting cups are provided, which are rotated until the position of the cover is completely aligned. There are usually no problems with adjustment, and the sequence of actions is detailed in the instructions.

Causes of breakdowns

In most cases, soft close toilet seats do not need to be repaired. The lid is made of Duroplast, a high-strength material resistant to mechanical damage and dynamic loads. The closer is a non-separable structure, so repairing the lift of the toilet lid with your own hands is impossible in principle: there is no access to the internal mechanisms.

This is not considered a design flaw of the microlift. All internal elements are made of high quality materials designed for a long service life. Manufacturers fill the interior with silicone to reduce friction and increase the working life of parts.

Preventive measures do not exclude the physical wear of the mechanism, but the actual life of the door closer usually exceeds the period declared by the manufacturer. Therefore, the main cause of failure is careless operation of the product. For example, a person habitually tries to forcefully close the lid. This should not be done: the spring is designed for gradual lowering, and such a gross intervention in the planned work disables the mechanism.

You can determine the breakdown by the knock that appears when the lid is lowered. This indicates that the degree of compression of the spring has changed and the microlift at least needs to be adjusted.

Closer

If the breakdown is internal - no way, because the microlift is a monolithic structure. A cracked stem or burst spring becomes critical damage, entailing the replacement of the seat completely.

The service center specialists can restore the closer system, but in some cases the cost of repairs may exceed the price of the device, so it will be easier to buy a new product.

Replacement of fasteners

Mounting bolts are usually made of a soft material (brass alloy or plastic), so they can burst if carelessly moved. The problem is quite common.

You can replace the bolts yourself. Work is performed in the following sequence:

  1. The water is shut off and the drain tank is removed - this action is not necessary, but this way you can simplify access to the mounting system.
  2. The cover is removed - the nuts located at the bottom of the toilet bowl are unscrewed, and the bolts are pulled out of the grooves.
  3. Installation is in progress - damaged bolts are replaced with new ones, the system is assembled in reverse order.

It is necessary to take into account the fragility of ceramics, therefore fasteners are installed only through plastic or rubberized washers, tightening is carried out without excessive effort.

Tightening supports

The structure is fixed with metal supports. To do this, remove the protective caps installed on each rack. On most models, special holes for a hex key are provided for such operations. After that, the seat together with the cover rises up.

The fasteners inside the system rotate freely, so they are twisted forward or backward, aligning the lid with the toilet bowl. When the adjustment is completed, the caps are returned to their places, carefully tightened.

Other malfunctions

Given the features of the microlift, not all malfunctions can be repaired. For example, when the lid is forced down, the spring often bursts or stretches. The non-separable design will not allow replacing this element. The situation is similar with the stock. If you're lucky, you can pick up a mechanism with a working piston and then the closer will last for some more time. However, you should not count on such luck, so if the piston is damaged, you have to change the cover completely.

A separate situation when the lid itself breaks. The causes of such damage are usually a strong impact or point load on the surface, for example, when a person stands on a lid with their feet. The feasibility of self-repair is determined by the nature of the damage.

If the lid is broken into several fragments, you should not try to restore it. It will not work to assemble the product qualitatively, and the surface glued hastily will violate the overall design of the bathroom. In situations where a crack has appeared on the lid, you can fix the visual defect with liquid nails. The adhesive composition is applied to the surface, the edges are joined together and fixed for several minutes.

In some cases, the cause of incorrect operation of the microlift is an excessive amount of lubricant. Silicone comes through to the surface, prevents the lid from lowering correctly. This problem is solved with a cloth, which eliminates the grease that has come out.

Sometimes the opposite situation arises, when a lack of a lubricating substance leads to jamming of the mechanism. Symptoms of a malfunction are extraneous noises and creaks that accompany the process of raising / lowering the lid. The problem is solved by maintenance.

Replacing a damaged cover

Before replacing the cover, you need to pick up a new model with a closer. When choosing, 3 main factors are taken into account:

  1. External parameters of the toilet bowl.
  2. The shape and design features of plumbing.
  3. Manufacturing company: it is better to give preference to products of well-known brands.

In order for the microlift to work correctly, the model you like must fit the toilet. If this rule is not observed, after a while it will be necessary to carry out a second replacement.

From a technological point of view, replacing the cover will not cause difficulties. Fastening is carried out by two bolts that need to be unscrewed. If the thread is covered with rust, it is pre-treated with silicone. Sometimes this action does not help, and then the fasteners are carefully cut off with a hacksaw.

After that, the mounting holes are cleaned of dirt, a new model is installed, which is attracted by bolts from the installation kit. If necessary, adjust the microlift.

Toilets with microlift have been designed to improve ease of use. The microlift system was invented when, apparently, it became clear that the loud sound of a falling toilet lid is unpleasant for the human ear. Add mechanical damage to the seat (cracks, scratches) to this annoying sound, and the expediency and relevance of such an invention will immediately become apparent. Fortunately, modern manufacturers have come up with a device to solve this problem.

The toilet seat was equipped with a special micro-lift system, thanks to which smooth closing is achieved and the characteristic knock disappears. How does this happen? The lift toilet seat functions like a door closer, only on a micro scale. The toilet lift supports the seat when lowered and thus prevents impact. If you need it, it is better to choose a seat with a microlift.

In cases where the toilet has already been installed and does not cause any complaints other than the lack of microlift technology, you can simply purchase an equipped seat separately and use it instead of the old one. The lift-up toilet seat is the finishing touch that takes ergonomics to dizzying heights. However, not all models support this installation. Therefore, most people purchase a microlift seat directly "complete" with the toilet itself, which has excellent performance.

Moreover, the microlift is quite. The advantage of the microlift for the toilet is that, for all its manufacturability, it does not increase the cost at times. Buyers of the Santehnika Online store can purchase a good toilet bowl with a seat lift for 3-4 thousand rubles. There are also elite designer models in the price range of 30-70 thousand rubles. You may be interested in the premium category - with a microlift and seat heating.

We invite you to evaluate the offers of our catalog. By setting the necessary search criteria, you will definitely select the necessary model. Each product group also provides convenient navigation through the assortment. So, when choosing a toilet with a microlift, you can specify some other preferences - the shape of the bowl, the presence of a shelf, the direction of release, overall dimensions and some other parameters.

It is diverse and represents high quality goods, various characteristics and prices. One of the most essential plumbing items is the toilet. This seemingly simple and uniform device, now also has a huge variety. You can find toilet bowls in different colors, shapes, sizes, made from different materials and with different uses. In principle, toilets break quite rarely, and even in the event of a breakdown, it can often be repaired. This is very beneficial, since the toilet is installed for a long time and rarely changes. In principle, if you correctly determine the cause of the malfunction, you can fix it yourself.

How to repair a toilet

The main signs of a toilet failure are water flowing from the tank into the toilet, an inactive start button, a toilet leaking, noisy operation, and so on. At the same time, all these malfunctions can be classified into two types - a breakdown of the tank and a toilet leak. Do-it-yourself toilet repair, using our video, which can clearly demonstrate breakdowns and how to fix them.

If you notice that the water flows continuously, then most likely the reason is in the float lever, it is either warped or displaced.

  • This problem is fixed very simply, you just need to fix the lever into place.

If this is not the cause of the leak, check the float, because due to the slightest damage it could fill with water. This leads to a weighting of the float and, accordingly, it does not block the access of water.

  • To fix such a problem, you need to remove the float and find damage on it (water will flow out from there).
  • Then drain all the water from the float, plug the hole and put the float back.

Do-it-yourself toilet repair can also be done in case of breakage of the flush button. Often the breakage of the button is due to a damaged traction.

  • Therefore, it is worth removing the broken traction and installing either temporary or completely new traction in its place.
  • If no measures help to eliminate the breakdown, then it is necessary to replace the entire mechanism of the tank, you can also do this yourself.

Toilet bowl broken

Breakage of the toilet bowl is quite rare, but very unpleasant. Often they consist in the absence of a tight fixation of the toilet bowl to the floor, or in the flow of drain pipes.

  • Before fixing the toilet bowl or repairing pipes, you need to carefully examine both the toilet bowl and the cistern.
  • Only after you have found the unmistakable cause of the leak can you start repair work.

Toilet lid lifter repair

Toilet seats are now ridiculously varied. They even have additional features such as auto reheat, self cleaning, easy removal and so on. Now they have even invented such a convenient device as a cover with a microlift. This device has huge advantages, the lid with a microlift closes smoothly just by pushing the lid. Moreover, the lowering of the lid is absolutely silent and accurate. These lids have soft contact with the surface of the toilet bowl and stylish design.

The microlift is a complex mechanism that can sometimes fail. In this case, the lid begins to slam strongly on the toilet, which can cause cracks and cracks on the toilet. Therefore, if you notice a malfunction in the microlift, you need to immediately repair it. If you are unable to fix the problem yourself, it is recommended to contact professionals.

The flow of water in the toilet often indicates a malfunction of the release valve.

  • To begin with, try again to drain the water, perhaps the valve has moved a little or not closed tightly, which caused the leak.
  • If this does not help, then check how good the float is, because if it is deformed or worn, it must be replaced.
  • Be that as it may, before starting repairs, make sure that you have correctly established the cause of the breakdown. After all, if you repair a serviceable part, the problem will not be eliminated, and you will simply waste your time.

If, having tried all the options, the breakdown has not been eliminated, then it is better to replace the entire mechanism of the drain tank.

Plumbing fixtures today are often equipped with technically advanced devices that simplify operation and increase comfort. Among these is the toilet lid with a built-in microlift. But due to the natural wear of parts and incorrect operation, the system tends to fail. Is it possible to repair the toilet lid on our own and what to consider when carrying out work, we will consider in the article.

The microlift is a modern modification of the standard toilet lid. The main purpose of the device is to ensure the smooth lowering of the lid, eliminating the possibility that it will fall on the glazed sanitary ware, making a sharp popping sound. Such devices appeared on the market not a few years ago, and have already gained tremendous popularity among connoisseurs of comfort.

The seat cover, supplemented by a microlift, is convenient in that it itself rises and falls smoothly, and the owner does not need to think whether he did it or not

The principle of operation of the microlift in terms of functional purpose is very similar to a door closer, but only made in miniature. Therefore, it is often referred to as a "soft lowering device".

The purchase and installation of the device helps to solve three problems at once:

  • prevents the lid from falling off;
  • prevents the spread of microbes and unpleasant odors outside the toilet bowl;
  • eliminates the formation of cracks and chips on the decorative coating of plumbing.

In a product that is simple at first glance, a solution is implemented that greatly simplifies the use of a plumbing fixture and increases comfort. Due to the fact that the mechanism operates silently, it is not audible when using plumbing even at night, when all households are sleeping.

When lowered sharply on the toilet seat, the lid makes a sharp jerky popping sound, and with a closer you definitely won’t hear it

On sale there are both budget options and more expensive ones. Mechanisms from the expensive category are equipped with a presence sensor, which automatically raises it when a person approaches, and returns to its original position when leaving the room.

Structural device microlift

The microlift is on sale together with a cover of a toilet bowl. It cannot be purchased separately. Toilet lids equipped with closers are made of plastic or its modern counterpart, Duroplast. This polymer, although outwardly it looks like plastic, is closer in quality to ceramics.

The material for the manufacture of seats equipped with a microlift is duroplast - a modified polymer that can maintain a stable temperature under thermal exposure.

Fix the device to the toilet in a rigid way. But to ensure the smooth operation of the mechanism, the device can be equipped with a function that provides air damping. To do this, the seat is supplemented with special compartments that are filled with cushioned silicone.

The main structural elements of the system:

  1. A rod that securely fixes a rigid plastic installation.
  2. A spring whose force balances the weight of the structure.
  3. Hinged micro-lift mechanism that provides a change in the position of the cover.
  4. Lid and seat made of durable polymer.

In more expensive functional systems, the basis of the mechanism is not springs and rods, but pistons and cylinders. Structures of this type are classified as non-separable.

Smooth closing / opening of the mechanism and fixation of the toilet lid in the desired position is provided by a micro-lift hinged mechanism equipped with a spring

Functional systems, in which seats and covers are complemented by a built-in microlift, are produced by many manufacturers of sanitary equipment. If desired, you can purchase and install a universal device that can provide several functions at once:

  • adjusting the temperature of the incoming water;
  • the possibility of heating the seat;
  • high-quality washing, enema and massage;
  • extraction of an unpleasant odor, followed by deodorization.

Many models are often equipped with a convenient self-cleaning function, thereby minimizing the participation of households in the process of using a plumbing fixture.

The main causes of breakdowns

Closer systems produced by leading manufacturers are renowned for their high quality. But the natural wear of functional elements and incorrect operation of the "smart" device leads to disruptions in the system.

The main sign of the failure of the mechanism is the appearance of a loud sound that occurs when the cover is lowered due to its fall

The causes of malfunctions in most cases are attempts to manually close the lid “out of habit”. The built-in spring of the mechanism is designed for gradual compression. In the case of the use of physical force, mechanical action disables the device.

The easiest way to solve the problem is to completely replace the cover with a new one, since reinstalling damaged mechanisms is not always advisable. But still, in order to save an expense item, you can repair a broken toilet lid lifter on your own by trying to disassemble the device and replace its failed elements.

Toilet closer repair

In the event of a microlift breakdown, it is better to contact qualified craftsmen with the proper experience. They will help to determine the cause and type of malfunction, as well as professionally replace and fully restore the functionality of the “smart” system.

Work on self-repair of the built-in mechanism should be carried out with extreme caution, having thoroughly studied the instructions for the product before starting work

This is especially true if you have to deal with a design that is equipped with several additional functions at once.

Replacing broken bolts

The most common malfunction that can be fixed on your own is disconnecting the base with an elevator from the toilet, which entails turning it. It can occur if the bolts break.

The work to eliminate the defect is performed in the following sequence:

  1. Dismantling the device. The standard design model consists of a stem that holds the cover, and a spring that slows down its rotation. The operating mechanism is simultaneously attached to both the plumbing cover and the seat frame.
  2. Replacing broken bolts, screwed on the back with nuts, which connect the back of the cover to the elevator mechanism.
  3. Assembling the system in the reverse order with strict adherence to the installation of each part in its original place.

The nuts are screwed onto plastic bolts from the underside of the toilet bowl. The work is carried out carefully so as not to damage the fasteners.

If you have to screw in brass parts to prevent damage to the surface, you should use intermediate plastic washers that soften the pressure of the fastener

If it is necessary to disassemble the right and left microlift, it is convenient to remove the holders with a conventional screwdriver.

Pulling loose supports

To tighten one of the iron supports that secure the seat cover to the toilet body, it is necessary to remove the caps on each fastening leg. They are equipped with holes for the hex, although in some models these caps do not have holes.

To disassemble the structure on the left leg of the mount, the cap is removed by turning to the right, and on the right - to the left. After that, it remains only, without applying excessive force, to remove the seat with the cover. To do this, it is simply gently lifted up in an open form.

Under the extracted structure, a second pair of shiny caps will open to the eye. Under them, a screw will already be noticeable, which will need to be screwed with a Phillips screwdriver. You just need to thoroughly tighten it and assemble the structure in the reverse order.

Elimination of other breakdowns

There are situations when, for some reason, the toilet lid itself breaks. If desired, you can try to glue it. Liquid nails do an excellent job with this task. If cracks have formed on the plastic seat, they can be repaired with dichloroethane or acetone. To do this, a little liquid is dripped onto the accident site and the edges are joined, fixing the cover in a stationary position for several minutes.

If the cause of the failure was the accumulation of lubricant, which is a viscous and transparent substance, in one zone of the cylinder, then to eliminate the defect, you need to carefully pick it out and then evenly distribute it throughout the system.

If, however, when closing / opening the lid makes a prolonged creaking sound, this indicates that the lubricating gel-like materials have been used up.

The cause of the malfunction lies in the breakdown of the spring? In this case, it will not be possible to repair it so that the device works fully. Microlifts in the bulk are non-separable structures, and it is almost impossible to choose a spring that is suitable in length and diameter.

Problems with the stem are also unlikely to be corrected on their own. It’s great if you can find a similar failed mechanism in which the stem functions properly. In other cases, the only correct way out of the situation is to replace the structure with a new one.

Seat cover replacement

One of the significant reasons for the fatal breakdown of the mechanism is the wrong choice of model and errors during its installation. Therefore, when purchasing a new cover, you should be guided by the following rules:

  • take into account the dimensions of plumbing;
  • pay attention to the shape and configuration of the toilet;
  • give preference to products of trusted manufacturers.

The seats offered for sale with a lid equipped with a closer are suitable for toilet bowls of any design: floor-mounted, attached, suspended.

When choosing a new model, it is important to take into account the features of the plumbing fixture and pay attention to the fact that the distances between the fasteners of the system coincide with the seat attachment points.

To replace a broken lid with a closer with a new one, you will need a set of tools:

  • hacksaw;
  • pliers;
  • end key.

Of the materials, silicone or oil will also be required to process dried elements. Ideally, it is better to use a special lubricant that, penetrating into the cracks, freezes the rust.

Traditionally, the lid with the toilet seat is fixed with two bolts. But in some models, a metal stud may be used instead. For dismantling, you only need to lift the cover, and then unscrew the pins.

If the cover has been used for quite a long period, it is likely that the bolts are clogged, and the attachment points are coated and “soldered” to the body.

To provide easier unscrewing, simplifying your task, the bolts will have to be pre-coated with oil or silicone, but this is not always effective.

Using pliers, carefully, trying not to damage the decorative surface of the toilet bowl, unscrew the clamp and bolts. To protect plumbing from possible damage when working with pliers, it is better to cover the surface with rags or pieces of cardboard. This recommendation should not be ignored. Otherwise, at the slightest oversight, you will have to change not only the lid, but also the toilet bowl.

In extreme cases, if the processing did not give the desired result and the bolts do not lend themselves, they can be sawn with a hacksaw or cut off with a hot knife blade. Do not be afraid that the melted plastic will stain the plumbing. After hardening, it will not be difficult to remove it from the surface.

Having dismantled the old cover, in the grooves on the toilet remove the remnants of dirt, accumulation of rust and limescale, after which bolts are inserted into the attachment points and the structure is fixed

Installation of a new cover is performed in the following sequence:

  1. 4 rubber inserts are inserted into the new seat cover. They will ensure a soft fit of the product to the seat.
  2. Fasteners are installed in the cast holes on the toilet bowl. They are screwed using rubberized seals, supplemented with a clamp or by means of a bolted connection.
  3. Seals are mounted in the seat, connected to the mounts on the toilet.
  4. The cover is fixed to the seat with a bolt, a plastic sleeve and a cup, which will be responsible for adjusting the height.
  5. Perform centering of the structure and check the seat for fixation strength.

Since the key cause of failure of the mechanism can be the incorrect position of the cover and seat, it is so important to accurately adjust the system when installing the structure.

The adjustment process to ensure a uniform fit of the device over the entire surface of the sanitary ware is carried out by rotating the cups screwed onto the bolt. An important point: adjustment and centering are performed at the stage when the fixing nuts are only baited, but not yet firmly tightened.

Repair of toilet mounts:

How to install the system correctly:

In the future, in order to reduce the risk of premature failure, it is important to periodically check the position of the device and adjust it during operation. And remember: a seat with an elevator device is a “smart” mechanism that requires careful handling.

The microlift in the toilet is like a door closer. Thanks to this element, you can really smoothly lower or raise the lid along with the seat. If you want to purchase similar toilet equipment, be sure to pay attention to its advantages, disadvantages and selection criteria.

Microlift device

Even if you do not plan to independently install a toilet with a microlift or repair it, be sure to study the design features. This mechanism is considered non-separable. In fact, the structure can be disassembled, but in order to put it together again, certain changes will have to be made.

The microlift itself provides for the presence of a rod. Here the lid is rigidly fixed together with the toilet seat. Also, the design assumes the presence of a weak spring, which provides braking of the rod, so that the lowering of the cover is really smooth. The device will function correctly only if you select the appropriate stem and spring.

Advantages and disadvantages

Many people do not understand the need to install a lift toilet. In fact, this equipment has many advantages, which makes such an element, if not indispensable, then desirable.

In fact, there are no drawbacks to such a design. The only negative concerns the inability to quickly lower the seat and lid on your own. If you try and make an effort, then the microlift will simply break down, as a result of which you will have to buy new equipment.

In most cases, these products are sold for certain types of toilets, although there are also separate plumbing equipment on sale. To choose it, you need to take into account several points.

The nuances of installing equipment

In fact, the installation of the microlift is carried out in the same way as the installation of conventional covers. First you need to remove the old element, and then put rubber rings on the mount, providing a softer fit, and fix the new cover. After that, it is fixed with the appropriate parts.

In general, the installation is carried out in several stages.

Some people prefer a removable seat. Such equipment is fixed to the toilet with adjustable loops. They are responsible not only for the installation of equipment, but also for the adjustment of the seat.

Naturally, when using a non-removable seat with a microlift, adjustment may also be required. It's about a tighter fit. If you do not pay attention to this moment, then due to the skew, the cover with the microlift will quickly break. To prevent the product from being skewed, it is worth twisting the special adjusting elements. Only then can the nuts be tightened.

If the device fails for some reason, you need to be prepared for the fact that you will have to buy a new micro-elevator for the toilet. This applies to cases where, due to too much pressure, the spring has been broken. We are also talking about the failure of the stock itself. If the cover is broken, then the entire structure will have to be replaced. However, this rarely happens in practice, since really high-quality duroplast is used to create seats.

The toilet lift is considered an important element responsible for the ease of use of sanitary equipment. Today, a large selection of such devices is on sale, so you can choose products for different models of toilet bowls. Naturally, we are talking about more modern varieties.

Modern toilet seats began to be complemented by a variety of functions. They can self-clean, repel dirt, remove and remove and even heat up. These innovations include a toilet lid with a microlift. This mechanism is called "soft-close" or "smooth lowering". The toilet bowl equipped with a microclimate seat differs from the usual one in the presence of a special device that facilitates the smooth lowering of the lid on the toilet seat. Such a mechanism prevents loud sound effects from a falling cover, and also serves as protection against mechanical damage (cracks, chips) that may occur as a result of a seat falling. If there are people with disabilities in the family, then a good solution would be to install a monoblock toilet with a microlift. The installation of such a device is undesirable when small children are in the house, since the micro-elevator system for the toilet may break down from their influence.

The device of the toilet lid microlift is similar to a miniature door closer, that is, the lowering of the lid is completed by smooth braking, followed by lowering to the surface of the toilet seat. The contact of the seat itself with the surface of the toilet occurs according to the same principle. In addition, the toilet seat with a microlift can not only smoothly lower the lid, but also raise it when a person approaches.

Choice and purchase

If you decide to buy a seat with a built-in mechanism, then you should be guided by the following principles:

  • Preference should be given to products of the middle price category;
  • The chosen model should be evaluated by harmonious infusion into the interior of the bathroom or toilet room;
  • Before buying, it is advisable to find information and reviews about the device you like;
  • When choosing a seat, you should pay attention to its convenience, practicality and quality. It is necessary to remember about the materials of manufacture;
  • The microlift system can be supplemented with other functions: heating, self-cleaning and smooth lifting, and the choice will depend only on personal preferences.

You can buy a toilet bowl with a microlift at any plumbing supply store. One has only to decide on the necessary shape, color, characteristics and sizes. In the presence of a high-quality toilet bowl, a separate purchase of a seat with a built-in mechanism is possible, since the fastening of the toilet lid with a microlift is considered universal. But, before buying a separate toilet seat with a microlift, it is advisable to make preliminary measurements of the toilet itself. Indeed, if a device is chosen incorrectly, it is not possible to return or exchange it, since it is a hygienic product.

The main material for the manufacture of such seats is duroplast. It is durable, scratch-resistant, safe for health, does not turn yellow during long-term use. The use of special additives and treatment with silver ions prevents the formation of bacteria on the surface of the material. Thanks to the non-porous structure, optimal hygiene conditions are ensured. Duroplast toilet seats are strong, durable and easy to clean, which explains their frequent use in public washrooms.

Toilet seats with microlift are equipped with shock absorbers filled with silicone. Such shock absorbers are integrated into the seat and can be used for about ten years.

To date, there are many manufacturers of seats for toilet bowls with microlift. The most popular are American and Western European manufacturers. Products of domestic firms are not inferior in quality, but win in terms of pricing. Therefore, preference can be given to Soviet manufacturers.

Example of a seat with a microlift

Installation and repair of a toilet lid with a microlift

Before mounting the microlift cover on the toilet bowl (suspended, floor, corner), you must make sure that their fastenings match. The installation scheme for this product is similar to a conventional toilet seat:

Four rubber inserts are inserted into the molded recesses located on the underside of the seat. This ensures a soft fit between the seat and the ceramic body of the toilet.

  1. In order for the cover to fit softly against the seat, two rubber inserts are inserted into it.
  2. The seat and lid are connected to each other using a plastic sleeve, with the subsequent installation of a mounting bolt in it, connecting the fittings to the toilet bowl itself.
  3. An adjusting cup is screwed onto the fixing bolt, which makes it possible to adjust the height and uniform fit of the seat to the toilet. On top is a rubber gasket that comes with the seat.
  4. The resulting structure is connected to the body of the plumbing fixture by inserting the mounting bolts into the appropriate holes.
  5. Plastic nuts are screwed onto the fixing bolts from the underside of the toilet, which allows the seat to be rigidly fastened to the toilet. A tighter fit of the seat is achieved by metal adjusting cups.

In addition, there is a "demo version" of the seat with a microlift. It is represented by a removable seat with a cover with a "soft lowering" mechanism. A lighter option for fastening the toilet lid with a microlift is carried out due to two adjustable stainless steel hinges, which are resistant to chemical and mechanical damage. Thanks to these hinges, it is possible to adjust and install the seat on the toilet. The "Click and Clack" locking system facilitates and simplifies the process of cleaning the toilet bowl. By pressing the button located on the inside of the hinge, you can release the seat from the nozzle and remove it from the toilet. To install the seat in its original place, you must also press the hinge button located on the inside.

The lift system has a faster wear rate than conventional toilet systems. It works on the principle of a door “closer”, and, if it is closed manually, the toilet lid microlift breaks. At the same time, the microlift can retain the ability to move, but creaks when lowered, although in the normal state this process occurs without noise. In addition, the lid can slam against the toilet bowl, which can lead to pinholes and cracks in the plumbing fixture.

In order to know how to fix the toilet lid microlift, it is necessary to correctly establish the cause of the breakdown. Perhaps there was a detachment and rotation of the base with the lift mechanism from the toilet bowl. The lift mechanism is connected to the back of the cover with two plastic bolts, screwed from below with nuts. These nuts must be unscrewed, in case of breakage of the bolts, replace them. After that, the toilet lid is reinstalled. With tight fastening of the nuts, the cover is well fixed and will not hang out. Complications of this process may be associated with the inability to reach the nuts without removing the toilet. To do this, the device must be unscrewed from the floor, disconnected from the drain, put the lid back in place and reinstall the toilet bowl. This process can contribute to problems with the tank.

For installation and repair of the toilet lid microlift, it is advisable to use the services of professional plumbers. As practice shows, the repair of such a device is almost impossible. It will be more expedient to replace the broken seat with a new one.

Modern toilet seats can be complemented by different functions. They can be removed and removed, repel dirt, self-clean and even heat up. Such innovations include a toilet lid with a microlift. This mechanism is called “soft lowering” or “soft-close”. A toilet equipped with a seat with a microclimate differs from the usual one in the presence of a special device that facilitates the smooth lowering of the lid. This mechanism prevents a loud sound from a falling cover, and also serves as a protection against mechanical damage (chips, cracks) that may occur as a result of the seat falling. Microlift for the toilet lid - do-it-yourself repair, this is what we will discuss in our article.

Movement Features

Despite the fact that the cost of sanitary products with a microclimate is somewhat higher compared to conventional ones, they have a number of positive qualities, among which are the following:

  • Closing and lifting the lid is silent.
  • Extends the life of the plumbing fixture, as it prevents the appearance of microcracks on its surface due to constant impacts. Accordingly, the service life of the plastic structure itself also increases, since plastic is a rather fragile material, also prone to cracking.
  • Easy to install, making it easy to install the seat yourself. Moreover, if necessary, the cover can be easily removed, for example, to wash.
  • More expensive models can work automatically, that is, they raise the lid when a person appears, and also close it if no one is in the room.

Important! As for the shortcomings, here it can only be noted that this design will not come out quickly to lower it with your hands. If you make an effort, the mechanism may break. It is categorically not worth doing this, since it is quite difficult to repair the toilet lid lifter with your own hands, and in rare cases it is completely impossible.

Despite the more complex design, the fastening of the toilet lid with a microlift is the same as in traditional products. Therefore, all that needs to be done is to remove the old seat and install a new one. First, rubber rings should be put on it, which can ensure a soft fit of the product to the surface of the plumbing.

The only difference from the usual seat with a panel is that a product with a microlift may require additional adjustment. This is due to the fact that even a slight misalignment or loose fit can lead to device failure.

With the help of adjusting cups, the seat can be leveled, thereby preventing its failure. So, the task of adjustment is to ensure a uniform fit of the cover over the entire surface of the plumbing fixture.

Important! Adjustment must be made before the lock nuts are fully tightened.

In order to repair the microlift of the toilet lid with your own hands, you need to understand the design features of this product.

Device

Most people are not interested in the design of the products they use, and the models of toilet seats in question are no exception. But if it became necessary to repair such a cover, then, first of all, you should understand how it works. So, the microlift device is quite simple:

  • A rod to which a plastic structure is rigidly attached.
  • A weak spring, the force of which exactly corresponds to the weight of the structure and must be on the verge of equilibrium.
  • Articulated microlift mechanism.
  • Lid.
  • The seat itself.

Important! The micro-lift hinge mechanism and spring ensure smooth opening and closing of the lid.

Troubleshooting

If you see that the toilet lid microlift is not working, then you should try to immediately fix the problem. Since, if you delay the repair, it is quite possible that in the future you will have to completely replace the product with a new device:

  • Before proceeding with the repair of the toilet lid microlift, it is necessary to figure out what exactly the breakdown is. The most common malfunction is detaching and turning the base with an elevator from the toilet.
  • The lift mechanism is attached to the back of the seat with two plastic bolts that are screwed on with nuts from the bottom. Bolts can also break, which can be replaced if necessary.
  • Another common problem is a broken spring. Unfortunately, in this case, it will not be possible to carry out repairs so that the device works fully, since it is quite difficult to find the right spring.

Important! If for some reason the toilet lid with a microlift broke, then you can try to glue it together. For this purpose, you can use "liquid nails".

  • The problem with the stem is also unlikely to be eliminated, unless you can find the same faulty device with a whole stem or a suitable repair kit in a specialized store. In other cases, you will have to buy a new cover.

Important! Perhaps this is the entire instruction for the repair of such a plumbing device. In general, the microlift mechanism, unfortunately, wears out rather quickly and is difficult to repair. Because of this, in most cases it makes more sense to buy a new seat.

A seat with an elevator device is considered more comfortable in terms of use, in addition, it has an important advantage - it extends the life of the toilet bowl. However, it should be borne in mind that repairing a toilet lid lifter with your own hands is not an easy task, and cannot always be fully implemented.

When choosing sanitary ware for the toilet, did you prefer a more modern model? Find out if the microlift for the toilet lid is broken, is it possible to repair it with your own

Toilet lid repair: how to fix a microlift and a seat

Plumbing fixtures today are often equipped with technically advanced devices that simplify operation and increase comfort. Among these is the toilet lid with a built-in microlift.

But due to the natural wear of parts and incorrect operation, the system tends to fail. Is it possible to repair the toilet lid on our own and what to consider when carrying out work, we will consider in the article.

Microlift - what kind of device

The main purpose of the mirolift is to provide a smooth lowering of the lid in order to prevent it from falling onto the glazed sanitary ware with a loud popping sound. Such devices appeared on the market a long time ago and have already gained popularity among connoisseurs of comfort.

The principle of operation of the microlift in terms of functional purpose is very similar to a door closer, but only made in miniature, which is why it is often called a “soft lowering device”.

The installed device helps to solve three problems at once:

  • prevents the lid from falling off;
  • prevents the spread of unpleasant odors;

On sale there are both budget options and more expensive ones. Mechanisms from the expensive category are equipped with a presence sensor, which automatically raises the lid at the moment a person approaches, and returns to its original position after using the toilet.

Structural device microlift

The microlift is sold with the toilet lid, but it can also be purchased separately. Covers equipped with closers are made of plastic or its modern version - duroplast. This polymer, although outwardly it looks like plastic, is closer in quality to ceramics.

Fix the device to the toilet in a rigid way. The main structural elements of the microlift:

  1. A rod that securely fixes a rigid plastic installation.
  2. Spring to balance the weight of the structure.
  3. Hinged micro-lift mechanism that provides a change in the position of the cover.

In more expensive functional systems, the basis of the mechanism is not springs and rods, but pistons and cylinders. Structures of this type are classified as non-separable.

Functional systems, in which seats and covers are complemented by a built-in microlift, are produced by many manufacturers of sanitary equipment. If desired, you can purchase and install a universal system that includes, in addition to the microlift, other devices. They are able to provide several functions at once:

  • adjusting the temperature of the incoming water;
  • the possibility of heating the seat;
  • high-quality washing, enema and massage;
  • extraction of an unpleasant odor, followed by deodorization.

Many models are often equipped with a convenient self-cleaning function, thereby minimizing the participation of households in the process of using a plumbing fixture. The presence of a microlift is just one of the ways to make living conditions more comfortable.

The main causes of breakdowns

Produced by leading manufacturers, closer systems are renowned for their high quality. But the natural wear of functional elements and incorrect operation of the "smart" device leads to disruptions in the system.

This is especially true if you have to deal with a design that is equipped with several additional functions at once.

Replacing broken bolts

The most common malfunction that can be fixed on your own is the breakage of the mounting bolts.

The work to eliminate the defect is performed in the following sequence:

  1. Dismantling the device (you can take the installation instructions and repeat the steps, but in reverse order).

If it is necessary to dismantle the seat, it is convenient to unscrew the holders manually or with pliers.

Pulling loose supports

To tighten one of the metal supports that secure the seat cover to the toilet body, it is necessary to remove the caps on each fastening leg. They are equipped with holes for the hex, although in some models these caps do not have holes. After that, it remains only, without applying excessive force, to remove the seat with the cover. To do this, it is simply gently lifted up in an open form.

The metal fasteners move freely in the holes, so to adjust the position of the lid relative to the tank, you just need to move them slightly forward or backward, and then carefully tighten the caps or fastening nuts. In this case, the microlifts themselves do not need to be disassembled.

If the cause of the failure was the accumulation of grease, which is a viscous and transparent substance, then to eliminate the defect, it must be carefully removed.

  • take into account the dimensions of plumbing;
  • pay attention to the shape and configuration of the toilet;
  • give preference to products of trusted manufacturers.

The seats with a lid presented for sale are suitable for toilet bowls of any design: floor-mounted, side-mounted, suspended.

To replace a broken lid with a closer with a new one, you will need a set of tools:

Of the materials, silicone or oil will also be required to process dried elements. Ideally, it is better to use a special lubricant that, penetrating into the cracks, freezes the rust.

Traditionally, the lid with the toilet seat is fixed with two bolts. But in some models, a metal stud may be used instead. For dismantling, you only need to lower / raise the cover, and then unscrew the pins.

If the cover has been used for quite a long period, it is likely that the bolts are clogged, and the attachment points are coated and “soldered” to the body.

Using pliers, carefully, trying not to damage the decorative surface of the toilet bowl, unscrew the clamp and bolts. To protect plumbing from possible damage when working with pliers, it is better to cover the surface with rags or pieces of cardboard. You should not neglect this recommendation, otherwise, at the slightest oversight, you will have to change not only the lid, but also the toilet bowl.

In extreme cases, if the processing did not give the desired result and the plastic bolts do not lend themselves, they can be sawn with a hacksaw or cut off with a hot knife blade. Do not be afraid that the melted plastic will stain the plumbing. After hardening, it will not be difficult to remove it from the surface.

Installation of a new cover is performed in the following sequence:

  1. Rubber inserts are inserted into the new seat cover. They provide a soft fit of the product to the seat.
  2. Fasteners are installed in the holes on the toilet. They are screwed using rubberized seals.
  3. Fix the cover to the seat with metal or plastic bolts.
  4. Perform centering of the structure and check the seat for fixation strength.

Since the incorrect position of the lid and seat can be a key cause of failure of the mechanism, it is important to accurately adjust the lid when installing the structure.

An overview of the main types of breakdowns of the toilet lid microlift. DIY Toilet Lid Troubleshooting and Repair Guide

Lifting toilet seat: 3 reasons to choose

On the market for sanitary equipment today there is a huge selection of toilet seats with additional functions. What is a microlift? Such a device is often compared to a door closer. It performs the task of silently lowering the toilet lid. With what force the lid is not thrown, the microlift will lower the seat and the toilet lid smoothly and without knocking. In the same way, it comes with a sharp rise in the lid or seat. Such a device prevents the lid or toilet seat from hitting the tank with force.

Microlift in the toilet - what is it: advantages and disadvantages

The advantage of the microlift is that the toilet lid drops very smoothly. All the advantages of such a device are in plain sight. As for the shortcomings of this equipment, there are none, they have not been identified.

The microlift is a modern modification of the toilet lid, which allows you to lower or raise it silently.

3 main advantages of a microlift:

  • The toilet with the presence of a microlift is almost silent, does not have any knocks or knocks that are associated with the fall of the lid. The only thing that makes noise in the bathroom is a drain and a set of barrels.
  • Such a system as a microlift extends the life of not only the lid, but also the toilet itself. It prevents microcracks from appearing on the enamel of the toilet. Also, the presence of such a device does not make it possible for the toilet lid to fail. And in addition to all of the above, the slow lowering of the lid or seat keeps their fasteners intact.
  • Ease of installation. This type of seat is very easy to remove, and this allows for quick cleaning. remove the cover, wash it and everything is ready to fasten back. There are also automatic microlifts. They are found in expensive models of toilet bowls or purchased lids with seats. Such devices automatically raise the lid when a person approaches and, on the contrary, lower it after the person leaves the toilet. If we start talking about the shortcomings of such a mechanism, then there is only one drawback - it is not possible to quickly close the toilet lid. If you start to close the lid with force, then you will not achieve good things here, but on the contrary, this will cause the system to break down. It is impossible to repair the microlift, only the replacement of the complete set.

    Toilet lid with microlift: can it be repaired

    Microlift - this special mechanism appeared recently, but is already in great demand among buyers

    The design of the microlift mechanism is not complicated, but without some nuances it is impossible to repair the system.

    The toilet lift is very simple, but the problem with such a device is the integrity of the product. Of course, you can disassemble it, but it is almost impossible to assemble it. The mechanism is built from a rod, on which the toilet lid and the seat itself are fixed, as well as a very weak spring that acts as a rod brake. The force of such a spring is accurately calculated for the weight of the cover. Being on the verge of balance, the rod and spring allow the covers to fall smoothly. If the mount is broken, then you can try to pick up a new one. It is advisable to consult with a specialist before doing this.

    Now we will discuss the repair of the cover and the mechanism itself. The repair depends entirely on the cause of the failure, but in many cases it is impossible to repair. For example, if you pressed the lid with force, for faster lowering and thereby stretched the spring or broke the microlift rod itself, then the lid can be safely thrown away. The lid is subjected to the same fate if it is cracked. But such a breakdown very rarely happens, since covers of this type are made of very high quality material.

    Toilet with microlift: what to look for

    In many cases, manufacturers of such products orient their system to a specific toilet and sell it as a set with it, but there are also separate systems for toilets, when choosing which you need to be very careful.

    Often, when the lid is suddenly lowered, children are injured. Therefore, it is better for parents to purchase a seat with a micro-lift mechanism, which allows you to smoothly lower the lid to its original position.

    When choosing such systems, you need to pay attention to the following:

  • Matching the lid to the contour of the toilet. This determines the lifetime of such a system. And besides this, an inappropriate cover spoils the interior of your bathroom.
  • Particular attention should be paid to the reliability of the product with a microlift. It is almost impossible to determine the quality by appearance, but, according to the reputation of the manufacturer, it is quite easy. You can read about manufacturers on the Internet, learn from friends, neighbors.
  • Additional system features may also be present. Seat heating, a self-cleaning function, an automatic lifting system when a person approaches or moves away from the toilet bowl can be built in. It is very easy to find such a device at any plumbing sales point. There is a wide range for choosing this type of product, which are installed on modern toilets. If you are trying to equip an old toilet with such a system, then this will cause a problem.

    Microlift seat: selection criteria

    For a successful purchase of a seat with a microlift device, you need to know the dimensions of the surface on which the seat will lie. The dimensions can be found in the toilet bowl warranty card or you can measure the length and width with a tape measure. It is not entirely necessary to measure the distance between the fasteners, since it is standard for all toilet bowls. The seat is a hygienic product and is not subject to replacement or return, and therefore measurements must be made as accurately as possible.

    Due to its purpose, the microlift is also called the “soft lowering device”

    Don't settle for the cheap options as they are usually made from low quality material. Get a seat with a microlift, the price of which is average.

    When choosing a seat, you need to pay attention to such nuances:

    • You need to pay attention to the warranty period of the seat and the quality of fasteners, and also do not forget about the interior of your bathroom;
    • The manufacture of such a product should be made only from high-quality materials, and this gives the possibility of comfortable use and practical;
    • You can choose a cover with additional features, namely: automatic cleaning, seat heating, air aromatization and an automatic lid up and down system.

    It is necessary to stop your choice deliberately, as it affects the comfort and psychological situation in the family.

    The toilet seat with the presence of a microlift is a novelty that can interest everyone. Paying attention to all the features of this installation, we can safely say that this is a big step towards human comfort. However, before purchasing such a seat, weigh the pros and cons, decide whether you are really ready for such a purchase, because improper handling can lead to wasted finances.

Toilet lid with microlift - features and device

The toilet lid with a micro-lift is a useful invention, it can be compared with a door closer - the micro-lift prevents the lid from falling loudly on the toilet, as well as hitting the cistern when lifted sharply. Below we will take a closer look at the device of this design, its advantages, and also consider how to fix the toilet lid microlift if it fails.

Toilet seat with lift

Peculiarities

Despite the fact that the price of seats with a microlift is higher than conventional ones, the purchase of this device can be called reasonable, since it has a number of positive qualities, which are listed below:

  • Lifting and closing of the lid is carried out silently.
  • Extends the life of the toilet bowl, as it prevents the occurrence of microcracks on its surface as a result of constant impacts. Accordingly, the service life of the plastic structure itself increases, since plastic is a rather fragile material, also prone to cracking.
  • Easy to install, making it easy to install the seat yourself. In addition, if necessary, the structure is easy to remove, for example, to wash.
  • Expensive models can work automatically, i.e. lift the lid when a person enters and close it when no one is in the room.

As for the shortcomings, they can only be attributed to the fact that the structure cannot be quickly lowered by hand. If you make an effort, the mechanism will simply break. It is not worth doing this, since it is quite difficult to repair the toilet lid microlift, and in some cases it is impossible at all.

Microlift seats have traditional fasteners

Despite the more complex design, the lift-up toilet lid mount is the same as traditional products. Therefore, all that has to be done is to remove the old seat and install a new one in its place. First, rubber rings must be put on it, which will ensure a soft fit of the structure to the surface of the plumbing.

The only thing, unlike a regular seat with a panel, a device with a micro-lift may require additional adjustment. This is due to the fact that even a slight distortion or loose fit can lead to device failure.

Seat Installation Diagram

By rotating the adjusting cups, the seat can be leveled and thus prevent damage to the seat. Thus, the task of adjustment is to ensure a uniform fit of the product over the entire surface of the plumbing fixture.

Note! Adjustment should be made before the fixing nuts are tightened.

Construction device

As a rule, people are not interested in the device of the products used, and the seats in question are no exception. However, if it becomes necessary to repair the microlift for the toilet lid with your own hands, then first of all you need to figure out how it works.

So, the micro-lift device for the toilet lid is quite simple.

Structurally, the mechanism consists of the following elements:

  • A rod on which a plastic structure is rigidly attached;
  • Weak spring, the force of which exactly corresponds to the weight of the structure and is on the verge of equilibrium;
  • Microlift articulated mechanism;
  • Lid;
  • Seat.

The spring and micro-lift hinge mechanism ensure smooth opening and closing of the structure.

Troubleshooting

If you notice that the toilet lid microlift is not working, then you should try to fix the problem immediately. If you delay the repair, it is quite possible that you will have to replace the product with a new device.

Before you repair the toilet lid microlift, you should figure out what exactly the breakdown is. The most common malfunction is detaching and turning the base with an elevator from the toilet.

The lift mechanism is attached to the back of the seat with two plastic bolts, which are screwed on from below with nuts. Bolts can also break, which can be replaced if necessary.

Another common problem is a broken spring. Unfortunately, in this case, it will not be possible to carry out repairs in order for the device to fully work, since it is very difficult to find a suitable spring.

Advice! If for some reason the toilet lid with a microlift broke, then you can try to glue it. For these purposes, you can use liquid nails.

Cover screws must be screwed in tightly.

Problems with the stem are also unlikely to be fixed, unless you can find the same faulty device with a whole stem from your friends or a suitable repair kit in specialized stores. In other cases, you will have to spend money on a new product.

Here, perhaps, is the entire instruction for the repair of this device. In general, the microlift mechanism, unfortunately, quickly wears out and is difficult to repair. Therefore, in most cases, it is more advisable to purchase a new seat.

A seat with an elevator device is more comfortable in terms of operation, and also has another important advantage - it increases the life of the toilet bowl. However, it should be borne in mind that it requires a careful attitude and can quickly fail.

Lid for a toilet bowl with a microlift: DIY installation video instructions

Lid for a toilet bowl with a microlift: DIY installation video instructions

They even have additional features such as auto-heating, self-cleaning, easy removal, and so on.

The device provides a smooth lowering of the toilet lid. It is not only convenient, but also practical. First, no loud noises when closing the lid or lowering the bezel. Households can sleep peacefully! Secondly, there is no risk of chips due to impacts of the toilet seat on the bowl. Thirdly, it is hygienic. It is enough just to push the bezel, and it will begin to fall, you do not have to hold it.

The microlift for the toilet is no longer a novelty. You can meet him in many houses. Another question: did the mechanism remain working for everyone? And then it turns out that for some, the device soon lost the soft close (“smooth lowering”) function and is used in manual mode. Let's figure out why this happens and whether you can solve the problem yourself.

Causes of failure

When choosing between products made of plastic or Duroplast, the latter should be preferred. Such a bezel is not afraid of scratches and will last much longer than plastic.

During the installation of the structure with a microlift, it is important to follow all the manufacturer's instructions. The position of the rim and cover must be carefully adjusted to avoid distortion.

Lowering the rim of the toilet or closing the lid is an action so familiar and polished that we never really think about how we do it. With a microlift, you have to act differently - with almost one touch. Push and wait. It is this "otherwise" that is the main cause of the breakdown of the mechanism. The fact is that the microlift cannot be rushed, but many out of habit put pressure on the rim. Thus, the mechanism quickly fails.

In addition, the microlift can break down for reasons beyond the control of users. Sometimes the lubricant inside the mechanism becomes unusable. It may exfoliate or lose viscosity. It happens that the composition is distributed unevenly among the parts, and then problems begin. A creak during operation indicates that it is time to lubricate the mechanism.

If a gap is found between the base with the closer and the shelf of the bowl, most likely, we are talking about a broken fastener. In this case, the bolts must be replaced.

Another reason why the microlift stops working is the wear and tear of parts. But this, of course, takes time.

If the seat is equipped with additional functions, such as heating, the microlift should be repaired with particular care so as not to damage the system design. In some cases, it is reasonable to turn to professionals.

How to fix a microlift

Unfortunately, it is not always possible to fix a broken mechanism. The fact is that there are two types of microlift devices.

The first consists of a rod for fixing, a spring that balances the structure, and a hinged micro-lift mechanism that ensures the movement of the elements.

In the second, pistons and cylinders are installed instead of springs and rods. The device is non-separable, although there are craftsmen who repair such structures.

If the spring is broken or the rod has become unusable, it will not be possible to repair the microlift. In this case, you will have to replace the entire mechanism.
