Step-by-step production

Attention: do not forget to provide a small gap between the doors and pillars (about 2 cm). It is necessary for reinsurance in case of shrinkage of the gate. It is also recommended to maintain a distance of 10 cm from the ground to the bottom edge of the canvases. This will allow you to open the doors freely in snowfall.

To do this, to build a swing structure from sandwich panels with your own hands you will need:

  • metal plates with insulation and steel coating;
  • galvanized steel profile;
  • section 100x100/60x60 mm for pillars, 80x40/60x40 mm, 60x30/40x20 mm with a wall thickness of 2 mm to form the structure frame;

Installation of supports

On both sides of the opening, holes are dug at least 1 m deep. A dense crushed stone-sand cushion is formed at their bottom. Pillars are inserted into the holes, leveling them, secured with supports and filled with concrete.

Remember: for the concrete to “set” properly, you need to wait a week or a week and a half.

Formation of the gate frame

While the concrete is cooling, you can prepare the metal parts for installation. To do this, they are first cleaned with a grinder to remove rust and plaque, degreased and coated with an anti-corrosion compound.

The frame for gates made of sandwich panels is a double frame. Its outer part is welded from a professional pipe with a section of 80x40/60x40 mm. It is cut into pieces the right size.
