The project of a corner bathhouse with a barbecue, like any other, provides the opportunity to enjoy both water treatments and being in the fresh air, as well as socializing and enjoying delicious food. Each of us probably has a tradition of relaxing in nature in the company of friends, treating ourselves to a delicious barbecue. Nowadays, a barbecue in a dacha is a sign of good taste.

Wooden saunas with barbecue

Your choice in favor of building projects with a barbecue gives you a double benefit - you get not only an equipped bathhouse, but also an excellent place to relax. There are a huge number of options for such projects; designs for a bathhouse with a barbecue gazebo made of wood are widely used in the construction of bathhouses.

Note! You can decorate the barbecue area in a wide variety of styles. But the main thing is that it harmonizes with the overall architecture of the bathhouse.

Designs of bathhouses with a gazebo and barbecue made of wood involve placing a large table, rocking chairs or benches, chairs and the obligatory presence of a barbecue, which can be made of brick. When constructing a stove, you must adhere to a certain number of rules and safety standards. But if you have at least a minimum of construction experience, then you can do all the work yourself.

Projects for a bathhouse with a gazebo and barbecue indicate to us that the recreation area will be well protected from any weather conditions, which means that any bad weather will not prevent you from holding a pre-planned friendly meeting (). In open areas, it will be quite difficult to light a fire due to strong wind or rain, but a gazebo will allow you to do this without the slightest difficulty.

Very often lately you can see a bathhouse not only with a barbecue and gazebo, but also with a swimming pool. The functional separation of zones in this case will allow your guests to cook food in the first zone, and relax in the second.

What advantages does a barbecue area located next to the bathhouse give us?

By setting up a barbecue area in this building, you will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food with your friends after taking bath procedures.

  1. you get the opportunity to cook delicious food without going outside and without running several times from the living room to the kitchen. The stove in the gazebo will become both a place for cooking and a place for relaxation;
  2. placing a stove in a sauna is the best option for those who like to take a steam bath in the winter cold;

  1. the smoke coming from the barbecue oven will exit through the chimney, thereby not causing you any inconvenience;
  2. your multifunctional bathhouse will become a complete complex for your relaxation and the relaxation of your guests. Your friends and guests will come to you with joy and look forward to an invitation from you;
  3. The oven will become not only a first-class culinary tool, but also a bright decoration for your entire home and plot of land.

Construction of a bathhouse with barbecue

Due to the fact that the recreation area requires an outdoor location, designs for bathhouses with a swimming pool and barbecue require the presence of a gazebo or a simple small canopy.

Your choice in favor of one or another type of arrangement of the space around the barbecue should be based on what the price of this building will be, also taking into account the total area of your site and its landscape.

  • in a small area you can easily equip a bathhouse with a stove, for example, by making it a corner one. The advantage of this design is that with minimal expenditure of square meters you will get your own multifunctional relaxation area;
  • a corner log house can be very compactly placed at the end of your site, and the view of your courtyard that opens in front of it will be an excellent addition to a beautiful gazebo with barbecue;

  • baths of this kind usually require the presence of two entrances - one leading to the relaxation room, and the second to the bath complex. In this case, a gazebo with a seating and cooking area is attached to one of the entrances;

A bathhouse with an attic () could also be a good option. Placing the building upward, rather than wide, will be the best demonstration of the competent use of the usable space of your site.

Note! Thus, you will get a bathhouse with a gazebo and barbecue, as well as a place to arrange a beautiful garden. This way you won’t have to sacrifice land area for the sake of building a large structure.

Structural projects with a stove, gazebo and pool can be implemented from a wide variety of materials, but wood will still be the best option. This material is natural and fully complies with all known environmental standards.

In addition, wood has high consumer characteristics. Both baths made of rounded logs and laminated or profiled timber will look attractive.

Conclusion

In this article, we told you what designs of buildings with barbecue areas are currently available. You can create such a project either with the help of specialists or do everything yourself; the instructions on our website will help you correctly perform all the necessary steps. You can learn more about this topic in the video in this article.

In the understanding of any Russian, a bathhouse is something more than a place where you can wash yourself. This is relaxation, communication in a warm family and friendly company. It is no coincidence that the construction of such a facility is the first thing people think about when developing a suburban plot of land.

Often, a bathhouse turns out to be a complex complex, which may include a relaxation room, a food preparation area, and a terrace where people gather after washing.

Peculiarities

Modern baths can be timber, brick, frame prefabricated buildings. There are other options for choosing materials and construction methods.

A bathhouse is often built with a veranda or terrace. The terrace can be equipped with a barbecue oven. But even in the simplest version, such an extension will add comfort when spending a holiday outside the city.

The best options for planning a suburban plot of land are obtained when creating complexes of this kind. Along with the bathhouse, a platform appears on the site, protected from the sun and precipitation by a roof.

The terrace can be surrounded by glass walls. This will allow you, without literally shutting yourself off from nature, to experience the effects of adverse weather conditions such as wind and slanting rain.

Combining a bathhouse with a terrace will also significantly simplify the construction issue. After all, a separate bathhouse and gazebo not only take up more space on the territory, but also require a much more significant investment of money, effort and time during the construction of each independent object.

Location of the building

To locate the bathhouse, you need to choose the right place, taking into account a number of factors:

  • It would be more correct that, taking into account the prevailing wind direction, the bathhouse should be the last in the line of buildings. If it suddenly catches fire, in this case there will be a high probability that the fire will not spread to other buildings.
  • If the bathhouse and the residential building are built as separate objects, the distance between them must be at least eight meters. The reasons here are the same as in the previous case.
  • It is advisable to locate the bathhouse away from the road. Even according to the requirements of the Land Code, this distance should not be less than five meters.

The terrace in its structure is an extension to the main building. In addition to the roof combined with the bathhouse, it can be protected from the wind to a certain extent, since it has one common wall with the main building and conditional partitions around the perimeter.

A solid floor is installed near the summer terrace. It can be made of wood, sometimes it is laid out with tiles or some other finishing materials. Furniture on this site includes benches, chairs, rocking chairs, and a dining table.

The terrace can be large or small. With a reasonable approach, it can always be made as convenient and functional as possible.

Selection of materials for construction

Wood is the material traditionally used for the construction of baths. It is usually used to make a log frame. The tree has many advantages:

  • it retains heat well - no need to think about additional insulation measures;
  • the wooden structure has a special smell and atmosphere that are characteristic of a traditional Russian bath;
  • since wood breathes, the humidity inside the bathhouse is regulated;
  • from this material you can create buildings of a wide variety of shapes, embodying original architectural solutions;
  • There is no doubt about its environmental friendliness, since wood is safe for humans, and in a bathhouse it creates an additional healing effect.

The disadvantage of a wooden bathhouse may be the susceptibility of this material to mold, rot, as well as a significant likelihood of fire in case of careless handling of fire. There is much less fire danger in a brick bathhouse. But the room itself takes longer to warm up, which means you will have to spend more wood to wash and steam.

Brick structures for this purpose must have excellent ventilation., since condensate that appears during operation causes the appearance and spread of fungus.

At the same time, one cannot fail to note the environmental friendliness of brick and the fact that it can be used to build a building of any configuration. The long service life of such baths is also not the last argument in favor of choosing a brick building. Its construction can be cheaper than wooden. In addition, there is no need for special finishing. The brick looks good on its own.

Sometimes it makes sense not to limit yourself to traditional materials, but to choose something more modern for your bath complex. For example, gas silicate blocks. Gas silicate belongs to the category of products of modern technologies. It has its own advantages that force you to make a choice in its favor when it comes to building a bathhouse.

They differ:

  • reliability;
  • long service life;
  • environmental safety;
  • fire resistance;
  • good thermal insulation properties;
  • by the fact that it does not rot;
  • ease of installation;
  • at a small price.

An important issue when building a bathhouse is the construction of the foundation. More often than others, a strip foundation is made for such a structure using reinforced concrete, rubble or brick.

For a screw foundation, special piles are used, on which the structure will rest. The columnar foundation is one of the most economical. Using pillars you can build a base for a small bathhouse with a terrace.

Design

In order to get exactly what you need when designing a bath, you need to keep the following in mind:

  • how many people should a washing complex with an open seating area be designed for?
  • whether it will be used only in summer or can also be used in winter;
  • what layout will be most suitable;
  • what material to build it from;
  • what is the acceptable construction cost?

If the bathhouse is to be used only in warm weather, you don’t have to think too much about insulating the dressing room. If the bathhouse is used year-round, the location of the entrance to it becomes especially important.

Proper planning allows you to reduce construction costs. So, if you make a comfortable outdoor barbecue area that can easily accommodate many people, a guest room may not be needed.

Sometimes it is enough to attach a terrace to an existing bathhouse, if it is new enough. If the bathhouse is an old building, it is better to place a rest area under the roof between the washing building and the house. It is important to choose a place for it so as not to violate the existing architectural and stylistic idea.

The area of the bathhouse can be different - from small to impressive, for example, 6x4, 3 by 9 meters and so on. On a large plot there is room for a structure measuring 6 by 9 meters. It is suitable for a large family and a large company. Such a space can easily accommodate not only a steam room, a washing room, but also a kitchen, a bathroom, a recreation room, a billiard room, and so on. The bathhouse can be two-story. On the second floor it makes sense to make a spacious guest room. The terrace can be equipped with a stove that looks like a fireplace.

Such a health complex can be made, for example, from rounded logs. Layout variations are possible. For example, if you arrange a living room on the ground floor, separating it from the terrace with a glass wall, this room will always have a lot of light, and the terrace itself can look larger. When the weather changes, guests will be able to conveniently move from the open area to the living room and back.

Some projects of bathhouses with attics provide an external staircase to the second floor from the terrace. This way you can win additional space in the house itself. Although many may consider such a design decision controversial.

Sometimes it is easier to attach a bathhouse to an existing house, including one with a garage. In this case, a 5x6 meter extension with a terrace will be sufficient.. The functionality of the housing will expand, and in the heat it will be possible to spend time pleasantly in the fresh air in a place protected from the sun.

You can adopt the project of a corner bathhouse with a terrace. With this approach to planning, it can take up little space on the site, while remaining roomy inside. Such the project will be especially interesting when the bathhouse is placed very close to a residential building. There are also projects for corner terraces that make sense to apply in this case.

If you approach the matter thoroughly, you can aim for a real bath cottage. In addition to the bathhouse, it can serve as a variety of recreational functions. Here you can allocate guest rooms, an area for children to play, dance and barbecue. In summer, such a complex makes it possible to live in the fresh air most of the time.

When developing a bathhouse project, you need to take into account a number of nuances related to the location and arrangement of the terrace. A place for it must be allocated taking into account the direction of the wind. The bathhouse building should obscure the site, and at the same time the fireplace, so that vacationers definitely do not have to breathe smoke.

If the purpose of the terrace is to shelter people from the hot sun, you should not build it on the south side. This will only be good if the owners like to sunbathe.

Of course, one cannot ignore the surrounding landscape. It would be strange to have a terrace overlooking an outdoor toilet or a fence. It is much more pleasant to see a forest, river or lake from this site. From a planning point of view, the terrace can be located frontally, that is, along the facade of the main building, on the side, as well as at an angle and along the entire perimeter of the bathhouse.

For a small company, an area of 7-8 square meters will be sufficient. But if the territory allows, it is better to make it at least 9-10 squares. In this case, among other things, a couple of sun loungers or armchairs can easily be placed here. And the person preparing the barbecue will have enough space to turn around. At the same time, the heat of the stove will not disturb others.

The easiest way to lay the floor is with wooden boards. Although paving slabs will also work. On large terraces, natural stone is used for such covering.

There are a lot of standard designs for bathhouses with terraces. When creating variants of these objects, architectural bureaus take into account the requirements for the use of certain building materials and installation methods. Although no one will prohibit you from carrying out an individual project.

Design options

To have a pleasant time in a bathhouse with a terrace, you should carefully approach the design of the interior and outdoor area. Often the inside of the room is lined with clapboard of a certain tone. It is better to choose soft shades that will set you up for relaxation.

It is necessary to ensure that there are no large protrusions or sharp corners in the rooms. Even if there is enough space in the wash room, steam room or relaxation room, a person in a relaxed state can accidentally touch the ledge and get injured. For the same reason care must be taken to ensure that the floors are not slippery.

It is better to use natural materials for interior decoration. Modern ones, such as plastic, are not friendly with a bathhouse, as they can melt or begin to emit unpleasant odors. Even if they do not poison, the holiday experience will be ruined.

In the bathhouse you need to provide all the necessary accessories: brooms, hats, aromatic oils, shampoos, soap, washcloths. It is good to allocate a convenient shelf under them, which is always easy to reach.

For lighting, it is better not to use bright lamps, which do not allow you to tune in to relaxation. It is better to let the light be yellow and soft.

The design of the outdoor area is also of great importance. It may have thick curtains that isolate the terrace space from the hot sun or cold. Sliding elements made of glass or polycarbonate can be used here. Thanks to this, the terrace can be used almost all year round.

The important part is the oven on the terrace. The overall impression of a bathhouse with a terrace largely depends on its structure and design. A separate foundation is laid for the barbecue. The oven is made of refractory bricks on a high base. When building it, it is better to provide a niche for storing a small supply of firewood.

As for the occurrence of smoke, a separate chimney with a high pipe is created to remove it, so that the unpleasant smell and fumes do not spread throughout the terrace and bathhouse.

In modern conditions, the concept of a “Russian bath” has expanded from an ordinary place for ablution into a complex with wide functionality, which includes various types of relaxation. In this regard, projects of bathhouses with a terrace and barbecue have become in demand (photos are presented on the page).

This solution allows you to significantly save space in your garden or dacha area. A bathhouse with a terrace under one roof is implemented in different projects, which ultimately allows you to get a comfortable outdoor recreation area where you can enjoy food, drinks and communication.

The relevance of the location of the bath complex

A terrace is usually called an open-type extension adjacent to the main building. This site has the following characteristics:

  • has a reliable roof that protects from possible precipitation;
  • to a certain extent protected from the wind on some sides;
  • the space has a solid floor made of wood or tiles;
  • This area contains furniture in the form of benches, chairs, rocking chairs, and dining tables.

Popular bathhouse designs with an attic and terrace include a cooking area over an open fire:

  • open grill;
  • B-B-Q;
  • stationary stone stove, etc.

The fencing of this area is in most cases used in a decorative form and can have a height of about 1 meter from the floor level or cover the space from floor to ceiling with a rare decorative lattice with large gaps.

Individual features of projects

Various architectural bureaus offer many options for bathhouse designs with a terrace. Each of them is based on certain requirements regarding the materials used, location and installation methods. This is due to the fact that there are 6x4 bathhouse projects with a terrace or a 6x6 bathhouse project with a terrace that require a certain allocated area for them.

To enter the terrace there is a small porch with three steps. The site itself is quite spacious. And it can easily accommodate an oven with a grill or a barbecue area.

In such an area you can comfortably accommodate even several guests. In this case, certain nuances of the location of the open extension are taken into account:

  • The design of a bathhouse with a large terrace and barbecue may involve the location of an open area along the largest wall of the building or at the end of the building near the exit.

  • In some cases, in small areas, dressing room space is sacrificed in bathhouse designs with a rest room on the second floor and a terrace next to the building. This approach will also save not only space, but also money on the materials used.
  • An original decorative fence will mark the perimeter of the recreation area under a canopy in bathhouse projects with a large terrace.
  • When drawing up a site plan for installing a stove or barbecue, it is necessary to provide a reliable smoke exhaust system so that combustion products do not create discomfort on the site.
  • For the project of a corner bathhouse with a terrace, a barbecue area is allocated in the far corner, and smoke is removed through a pipe leading out of the roof.

Decorating the terrace

Projects of frame baths with a terrace are often divided into two types according to the method of designing the open area:

  • completely open terrace area;
  • the presence of dense hinged fabric screens;
  • the use of sliding structures using glass or transparent polycarbonate.

The possibility provided in the design of one-story bathhouses with a terrace to hermetically close and open the space using window modules makes it possible to use this area almost all year round.

Removable elements made of polycarbonate or glass can be put away in the pantry in the summer to open up the space for those relaxing on the terrace.

Using an open stove or barbecue

In those bathhouse projects with a kitchen and terrace where the use of a barbecue or barbecue is expected, it is necessary to take into account the special conditions of cooking areas over an open fire.

  • Installation of a stationary stove is often carried out away from the main resting place.
  • It is advisable to provide shelter for the food preparation area from possible bad weather in the form of precipitation or wind.
  • Mobile barbecues must be located in a fireproof place on a flat surface.
  • Individual decoration of the stove will highlight the design feature of the terrace.
  • In cool weather, a stationary stove becomes an additional source of heat for vacationers in the open summer area.

Popular projects

If there is sufficient space on the site, it is possible to implement projects of bathhouses made of rounded logs with a terrace in the form of a small health complex. Such a site will be enough for almost any company of two or three families.

The territory accommodates not only a bathhouse with a steam room, but also a relaxation room. There is a terrace along the longitudinal wall. It is open and includes a barbecue oven. This project of a bath house with a terrace assumes the presence of two entrances to the site: from the back and from the front.

The spacious hall is equipped with a pair of spacious wardrobes, which contain some useful bath equipment and things for changing clothes. There are three further exits from this area:

  • to the toilet, where there is a dormer window with natural light;
  • to the shower-washing room, after which there is a steam room;
  • to the living room, where there are all the conditions for a cozy pastime.

This arrangement allows you to intelligently manage the space and provides all the opportunities for comfortable movement around the bathhouse. The living room and terrace are separated by a huge glass window. It can be done in panoramic format. This solution will provide more light to the room and visually expand the terrace area.

Convenient location of the recreation area

The close location of the open seating area and living room will allow you to move between these spaces at any time if the weather may worsen or improve.

Some designs of a bath house with an attic and a terrace provide for the installation of a staircase to the second floor from the terrace side. This will save space inside the building.

After finishing the work week, what could be better than taking a steam bath and enjoying barbecue in the company of your family and friends. But the long-awaited day off can be ruined by rain or a sudden cold snap, and you will have to give up dinner outdoors. However, you can try to combine a relaxation area with a bathhouse.

Peculiarities

Combining a bathhouse with a barbecue gazebo under one roof will help protect you from weather surprises. When choosing a bathhouse design, you need to take into account the presence of several design options.

Example Project 1

The bathhouse and gazebo in the form of a large terrace are located on the same foundation under a common roof, such a design solution assumes an even distribution of the load-bearing load over the entire structure. The foundation is made of strip or pile to the same depth along the entire perimeter of the structure.

Example Project 2

The second design scheme is a bathhouse on a strip foundation with an attached gazebo under a canopy. The canopy beams are supported on one of the walls of the bathhouse. The roof of the canopy rests on racks with a pile foundation. The two parts of the structure have different load-bearing loads and operate separately.

Sample Project 3

A complex of structures consisting of two separate buildings: a bathhouse and a barbecue gazebo. In this option, two separate foundations and two separate roofs are erected, connected by a covered walkway. For example, there is already a bathhouse on the site, but you need to make a covered gazebo for barbecue. Then we choose the second option and complete the canopy. The easiest way is to make it lean-to; you can build such an extension yourself if you have basic construction skills. The third option will require additional space for construction and will have a higher estimated cost than adding a shed.

By combining these two objects - a recreation area with a barbecue and a bathhouse, several problems are solved at once.

  • Practical benefits- communications are laid to one piece of land - paths, water supply, electricity will serve two objects. This reduces material and earthwork costs.
  • Comfort maintenance and use - the presence of a permanent structure of the bathhouse will allow it to be used in the cold season, when the time spent in the fresh air is reduced.
  • Decorative effect– a complex of facilities for relaxation and bathing procedures, decorated in the same style, will become a beautiful accent of the site.

When combining a barbecue area with a bathhouse, you must follow the instructions for observing fire safety rules.

  • An outdoor stove or brazier is equipped with a chimney, and a protective wall is built from the wind, which will ensure even burning.
  • It is not advisable to make the size of the gazebo or canopy less than 4.5 meters wide; this is necessary to ensure free access to the brazier and the absence of smoke in the area of the table and seating areas.
  • An important requirement is to install a barbecue in the part of the terrace farthest from the door to the bathhouse, so that the entrance to the dressing room is not obstructed.

The landscape view from the open gazebo is of great importance. To select the most advantageous viewpoint, they walk around the entire territory and examine the surrounding landscape. Sitting on a chair after a bath, it’s nice to see not the wall of your neighbor’s barn or a fence, but a beautiful flower bed, pond or orchard. Therefore, landscape designers advise placing a bathhouse and a barbecue gazebo on elevated or flat places, from where pleasant landscapes open up. A lowland or depression on a site is not the best choice for a recreation complex.

When choosing a bathhouse design, you need to conduct a study of the soil composition, find out the depth of freezing in a given area, and how susceptible the soil is to swelling. Usually all this data can be obtained from the regional department of architecture.

Material selection

Tree

Traditionally, the material for bathhouses and garden gazebos is natural wood. It is the most beneficial material for human health. At high temperatures, wood begins to release beneficial essential substances and resins, which have a beneficial effect on well-being and help restore physical and mental strength after a week of work.

Pine is a cheaper material, has a pleasant color with a beautiful knotty wood pattern. But pine fibers have a loose structure: when exposed to moisture, they increase in volume, and cracks appear when they dry out. And also high temperatures in the steam room provoke the release of resin, which makes the air in the room heavier and forms unsightly stains on the walls. However, pine can be used for a spectacular composition in the national style of log baths and gazebos.

The internal walls of the steam room will need to be sheathed with linden, aspen, cedar or African abash oak with pink, smooth, knot-free wood.

Wood has the highest thermal insulation rate compared to brick or foam block. Buildings made from this material have optimal humidity and natural ventilation. Logging wood is produced in the form of rounded logs or timber. Modern technologies for processing wood for construction make it possible to build structures of equal beauty and durability from both timber and logs.

It is worth noting that cracks appear less often on the timber, and it is easier to lay due to its rectangular cross-section.

The first crown of the log house is made of oak or laid on larch boards to protect the log house from soil moisture. A layer of jute is laid between the crowns, and the logs themselves are fastened with wooden dowels. They begin to install the gazebo from the supporting posts and immediately make the upper and lower frames. The roof and rafter system are erected after the structure has completely settled.

The foundation for a timber frame can be made columnar under load-bearing structural ligaments. The concrete base for the pillars is poured to a soil freezing depth of 1.2 to 1.7 meters and reinforced with rods.

Brick

In second place in terms of durability, environmental qualities, and thermal insulation properties are recreation complexes made of brick. Choosing bricks for building a bathhouse with a terrace and barbecue will require the help of professional masons. A person without experience can take upon himself the finishing of some elements of the gazebo or the construction of a barbecue. The foundation is usually made of a combination: strip around the perimeter and columnar under the load-bearing structural parts.

A brick building, subject to the technological cycle, will last 120-150 years, while the service life of wood is 100 years. The fire safety of a brick building is much higher than that of a wooden one. Brick retains heat much longer; the disadvantage is that it takes a long time to warm up a room made of stone. For the gazebo, brick pillars are erected on supports. This building material allows you to give the structure any desired shape - round, square, rectangular, with shaped protrusions.

Foam block

You can build a bathhouse complex yourself with small financial investments using foam concrete blocks. The plan of the bathhouse and barbecue gazebo is marked out on leveled soil, a trench is dug for the foundation to the required depth, a sand cushion is made, the trench is filled with crushed stone and reinforcing rods, and filled with concrete. After this, a layer of several rows of brick is laid out, and again a reinforced concrete frame is made around the formwork. Foam blocks are placed on this frame in cement mortar to the required height; when the wall is brought under the roof, it is completed with another belt of concrete strapping, this gives additional strength to the structure of the bathhouse.

A gazebo or terrace is placed under the roof on metal, wooden or brick pillars. Foam blocks have good thermal insulation qualities, but for use in the cold season, you need to additionally insulate the walls of the bathhouse with basalt slabs; there is no need to insulate the gazebo.

Outside and inside, the building made of foam blocks is sheathed with decorative block house strips, natural or imitating different types of wood. For the steam room, only natural wood is used for cladding.

The structure can be plastered and painted in the desired color.

Fiberglass

A gazebo or terrace with a barbecue can be used not only in the hot summer, but also in the cold season. An excellent solution would be to equip the gazebo openings with sliding glass frame structures. The materials for making frames are very diverse - wood, plastic, metal.

Plastic frame structures have significant weight and have good thermal insulation properties in winter.

If a bathhouse with a gazebo is used before the real cold begins, then it is better to choose an aluminum profile for glazing. This is a lightweight design that can be used to create panoramic glazing, however, the temperature inside and outside the room will not differ much.

In some projects, specially tempered frameless glass is used for continuous glazing., this is a very beautiful design, but it can only protect from wind and rain. Due to the lack of insulating gaskets, such glazing is not an obstacle to the cold.

Roofing material

Has a wide range. The roofing material is selected based on the amount of precipitation in the region, the design of the rafter system and the angle of inclination of the slope. For large amounts of precipitation in winter, the tilt angle is taken to be at least 45 degrees; for regions with strong winds, the tilt is less than 40 degrees to avoid windage. Roofing material can be sheet or roll. The most popular materials are slate, ondulin, metal tiles, for them the angle of inclination should be at least 20-30 degrees. Corrugated sheeting can be used for roof slopes with an inclination angle of 8 degrees.

Floor

Indoor floors are usually made of wood; the most durable flooring material is larch. But this is not a necessary condition; the material for the floorboard can be made from another type of wood.

For rooms with high humidity and outdoor terraces or gazebos, the floors are mounted on joists for ventilation to prevent wood rotting. But even under a canopy on a barbecue area, wooden floors will fail in a few years, so a more durable option is a floor made of paving slabs, porcelain stoneware or natural stone.

The flooring made of flat sandstone with part of the wall or all external walls finished with natural stone looks noble.

Subtleties of design

Designing a recreation complex has its own characteristics, which depend on the size of the site and financial capabilities. For a family of four, a bathhouse measuring 4x4 m and a small barbecue terrace along one of the walls with an area of 8 square meters is enough. meters. For a large company of 8-10 people, the barbecue gazebo occupies an area of 14-16 square meters. meters

In village bathhouses there are rarely equipped rest rooms; if there is not enough space, the rest room is combined with a barbecue terrace; in this case, it is better to make it glazed. In order not to make separate houses for the bathhouse, summer kitchen and barbecue preparation, this functionality can be placed together on the large terrace of the bathhouse.

A covered canopy for a barbecue area can be built between the garage and the bathhouse. It is convenient to install a barbecue near the wall of the garage, which will serve as protection from the wind. The roof between the two buildings is made gable. A lean-to canopy is used in projects for placing a barbecue area on a bathhouse terrace; it is an ergonomic option when there is a lack of space. The simple design will not cause any difficulties during construction and will provide the necessary comfort for preparing barbecue and relaxing in the fresh air.

With barbecue

An attached barbecue terrace expands the usable area of the complex building. The wall with the barbecue is erected to the height of the roof or to a height of at least 1.5 meters. The protective wall is finished with fire-resistant bricks, natural stone or tiles. The built-in brazier is equipped with a chimney. The chimney can be made of brick or metal.

A simple brick barbecue is erected on a separate slab foundation, which should not be connected to the foundation of other structures. If the terrace is used as a summer kitchen, then brick side tables are attached to the barbecue for cutting and preparing food, a sink is installed, and storage space is made. You can simplify this task by installing a ready-made metal grill barbecue against a protective wall and ensuring sufficient distance from the dining area and windows so that there is no smoke.

The dining table is placed in the middle of the room, with seating around it. It is better to choose furniture for a glazed seating area from natural oak. It will add solidity to the entire setting and will last for many years.

A barbecue under an open canopy is often exposed to adverse weather conditions, so furniture sets made of plastic or rattan would be optimal. Modern plastic processing technologies allow you to choose a convenient, beautiful and practical option for garden furniture.

Corner option

Sometimes, to place a recreation area, a corner is left between the bathhouse and the wall of the house. The corner option for placing a barbecue extension allows you to organize a covered passage from the house to the bathhouse through the recreation area. At the same time, you save materials by using ready-made wall structures for the house and bathhouse; you don’t need to pave the paths between the bathhouse and the house; you can use the passage in any weather without wearing outerwear. Such a barbecue area can be open under a canopy or glazed.

In this case, the grill is located in a place far from doors and windows. The dining area can be combined with the terrace of the house or located separately in the barbecue area. This version of the project allows you to use the same communications for the entire complex of buildings. The angular position creates additional protection from the wind, which ensures comfort.

When finishing, you must adhere to the general design style of all elements: the material of the roof, walls and paving is the same.

Interesting design solutions are obtained where the summer stove is placed in the corner. The fireplace stove and proximity to the residential building allows the gazebo to be used as a summer kitchen. A fireplace with a chimney is a rather massive structure; it takes up a lot of space in the center of the site, because there should be a free access area around it. The stove in the middle of one of the walls needs free space in front of the open fire, the dining table is placed on the side. If the fireplace occupies one of the far corners, this significantly saves space, leaving the entire center of the room for the dining group.

The fire in the fireplace, when positioned at a corner, is clearly visible from all points. The flame evenly warms the surrounding area. A corner stove can simultaneously serve as a firebox for a steam room if it has interconnecting communications with the bathhouse. This is one of the best places to build a fireplace.

With swimming pool

An excellent solution would be to build an artificial pond near the bathhouse with a gazebo. In a small dacha, which is used only in the summer, it is enough to purchase a ready-made pool and install it next to the barbecue gazebo. A more energy-intensive option is a built-in water and bath complex under a canopy or roof.

The decision to build a reservoir is made at the planning stage to allocate space for the foundation of the pool base. The water bowl can be located in the bathhouse building or outside on the terrace.

It would be correct to install a water feature under the terrace canopy. The dream of every steam lover is to jump into cold water after treatments in a steam room, and in the hot summer it’s nice to cool off in the water during the day if the summer cottage is located far from natural bodies of water. Therefore, a large area is allocated for the gazebo, where the barbecue area will be located together with the pool, taking into account the size of the pool; it is a good idea to allocate a couple of square meters for sun loungers. The terrace should accommodate a stove, a dining area, a place for sunbathing after swimming and a bowl for a pond. The area of such a structure depends on the size of the water bowl.
