Technical characteristics of the pellet boiler Kiturami KRP-20A Premium

Actually, as promised, my impressions of the Kiturami boiler. I do not claim absolute objectivism.
1. Appearance.
"+" The painting is even, even better than the first Wirbel. About the same as Sunsystem. The joints and evenness of the sheathing sheets are normal.
"+" the auger motor is really good - Korean. And indeed in Biomatic it is used all the time. Very reliable. With built-in thermal protection, low power - 25 W.
"+" there is a sight glass in the burner

"+" I liked the look room regulator(although it was not possible to test its functionality)
“+” “-” the auger is good, but only short and only in straight form.
"+" - mechanical cleaning of the burner grate - good
"-" the wires for the electrical connection of the auger are hanging chaotically (this is not an installation problem!) - there is no other way. Even the capacitors and circuit breakers are stupidly screwed to the auger and the wires are hanging.
“-” - the design of the ash box/boiler is, in my opinion, unsuccessful. I can believe that there are 15 liters in it, but I will never believe that you can pull out these 15 liters of ash - it’s impossible. The box pulls out and immediately rests against the burner nozzle. And neither the door stop nor the bunker allows you to open the door further. That is, in order to remove the pan you need to lift it 30 degrees up and pull it towards you, you can imagine the result. The design of the tray is also inconvenient to carry - the handle is on one side. So option 1 is to vacuum, and a vacuum cleaner, even a specialized one, gets clogged quite quickly - this is personal experience.
Autonomy for ash removal is small.
“-” the clamping tendrils of the front cover covering the heat exchanger are made of thin iron and, when pulled by the thumb, they began to bend (this is on the topic of the thickness of the steel).
"-" in order to look into the sight glass in the burner, you need to kneel down and tilt your head
"-" refers to inserted turbulators. When I took them in my hand, it seemed like they were made of tin like tin. If I had gloves, I would roll them into a separate ball. And they, as it turned out, are superfluous in this boiler; I will describe why below in “boiler operation.”
"-" instructions on 3 sheets - consider none at all
2. Boiler operation.
Before starting, we checked the vacuum in the boiler. On the street +15, chimney 7 m, insulated, diameter not specified (about 100 -120mm).
readings: in the combustion chamber 1 Pa, in the chimney after the boiler (measurement was made through the condensate collector - i.e. only the straight part) - 3 Pa. Therefore, upon startup, smoke came from loose connections in the boiler and chimney. But as soon as the boiler started, the chimney quickly warmed up and the smoke passed. We measured the draft after the boiler during operation - the draft improved, reaching 13 Pa. So the chimney is great.
“+” after Ilya and I made adjustments to the auger performance - the boiler quickly started up and worked (according to Ilya’s information) overnight without emergency stops.
"-" the fan is very noisy
"-" back to the turbulators. As I wrote above, they are made to increase heat removal for the sake of efficiency, but the boiler was not originally designed for pellet combustion. Kiturami took the simple route, simply adding these “snakes”. But this is where the ambush came. For the purity of the experiment and evaluation of the work, it was necessary to measure the vacuum in the furnace of a worker working on maximum power boiler There is no special hole, so I tried using an inspection hole. Having unscrewed the glass, I realized that I could not insert the sensor tube there - the heat and pressure of this heat from the hole were so great that even without measurement this indicated that there was excess pressure in the firebox! For example, Wirbel, with all its disadvantages, has a sensor that protects against this overpressure. I hope there is no need to explain why this pressure is dangerous.
"-" control. A bit rustic. The display has 2 digits, containing 2 digits. This is all.

"-" Settings. To be honest, I don’t even know how they will set it up there. And I didn't understand the logic. Well, the fact that you need to change the auger parameter (work\pause) is understandable. We somehow brought the power to the required 17-18 kW. But how can you configure the operation without being able to change the combustion fan parameter? Or I didn't understand something. But this is not in the instructions! And poking around in the controller, I couldn’t find this. By adjusting the supply only, we change the power of the boiler. And how to adjust O2 and CO. My measurements showed CO - 300 ppm, oxygen 17%. Next question?
"-" heat control - stupidly turn on/off the heating pump.
"-" the temperature on the boiler elements is high. We are heating the boiler room. But even on the boiler door - and it is open to touch - the temperature during boiler acceleration reached 80C - this is about the thickness of the insulation. Photo of the measurement below (taken when the boiler reached 67C and stopped):

Pellets are used as fuel - this is a form of solid fuel in the form of granules made from compressed wood waste.

In KITURAMI KRP pellet boilers they are used for pellets of the 1st and 2nd categories ø 6-8 mm and 10-30 mm long.

Kiturami pellet boiler is an excellent alternative to devices operating on gas, out of reach gas pipe. Pellet boilers are rapidly gaining popularity among our consumers, but first of all the buyer is interested in profitable price. Every year the market is replenished with new models from different manufacturers.

This review will be devoted to the product of the South Korean company in the field of boiler industry Kiturami. This review will analyze the pellet boiler of this company, its advantages, design features and characteristics, cost of this pellet heating system in Russia, as well as assessments of its owners.

Kiturami has been a leading company in the Republic of Korea in the field of boiler equipment since its origin in 1962. During this time they developed a huge number technical solutions and have developed their own technology for the manufacture of heating equipment and continue to meet the requirements of modernity and the policy of energy diversification in the boiler industry, providing consumers with gas, electric, diesel, coal, wood, and hybrid models of heat-generating equipment.

The Kiturami pellet boiler is represented by the KRP series, the lineup which consists of two names:

  1. KRP-20A (has 24 kilowatts according to specifications);
  2. KRP-50A (has 58 kilowatts of power, suitable for heating large facilities).

This article will be devoted to the first model of this series, since it is most in demand at the level of domestic use.

Design characteristics of the KRP-20A boiler

The Kiturami KRP-20A pellet boiler is a double-circuit type boiler with a heat exchange chamber for three flue gas passes. This solid fuel heat generating device capable of heating a room of up to three hundred square meters. Apart from the fixed blocks that come with all standard units of this type, the Kiturami KRP-20A pellet boiler in the “premium” configuration is equipped with auxiliary blocks that simplify its operation, thereby providing increased comfort of use.

Consists of the following components:

  • bunker. As everybody pellet boilers, KRP-20A is equipped with a bunker for storing a reserve of fuel pellets in order to ensure a long-term combustion process without human intervention. This tank has a capacity of up to 150 kilograms of biofuel. This amount is enough to recharge the device for a week in cool weather. autumn time or for four days in cold weather winter time. The height of this module is 120 cm, which ensures comfortable use without the use of various steps, ladders, stands;
  • screw feed. This unit is designed to transport fuel pellets from the bottom of the conical hopper to the top, from where it is moved along a corrugated element to the fuel module for subsequent combustion. The dimensions of the screw conveyor make it possible to send pellets without disturbing their original shape. The conveyor operates using an electric motor;
  • turbocyclone burner. One of important elements Kiturami pellet boiler flare burner equipped with a ceramic tubular electric heater. After the initial portion of fuel arrives, the a heating element, air blower and the burner device ignites. Air is forced into a spiral combustion chamber, uniformly saturating with oxygen all fuel intended for combustion;
  • heat exchanger The heat exchange device is designed in such a way that it makes it possible for heated gases to circulate through it several times, maximizing internal heat removal;
  • hot water supply circuit (DHW). It is a closed complex of pipelines that allows you to set up a hot water supply system;
  • mechanical cleaning mechanism for pellet burner. The drive is designed to remove slag and scale from the main area of the burner device. This process occurs automatically and cyclically during the operating state of the unit;
  • Control block. With its help, it is possible to assign boiler operating modes, control and adjust burner cleaning, and purge of the heat exchanger device. The set is equipped with a remote control.

Features also include a practical load monitoring system, which includes:

  • integrated microprocessor control unit that continuously monitors water temperature and air movement to create optimal and long-lasting combustion.
  • Balanced and optimized air supply for complete combustion. The fuel supply device automatically reduces the fuel volume if the heating temperature increases, thereby saving fuel.
  • Cooler with DC makes it possible to change the speed up or down based on the load, which optimizes combustion and reduces the creation of ash, reducing the number of ash pit cleanings.

The Kiturami KRP-20A pellet boiler standard includes: a rationalized hopper, an automatic ignition system, a device for automatic ash removal and additional afterburning of fuel residues (due to the design, the function of cyclic ash removal is carried out, afterburning of fuel residues occurs, which are absorbed by the upper section of the heat exchanger, while draining condensate cleans it). We invite you to watch the presentation of the Korean manager:

Kiturami pellet boiler, advantages and disadvantages

Like any technical device, the Kiturami pellet boiler has both advantages and disadvantages. The first category includes:

  • low cost. This unit has a cost two times lower than similar products from Europe;
  • economy. According to average indicators for heating a room with an area of 100 square meters, for heating season(6 months), the consumption of the boiler is 3-4 tons of pellet fuel. For the output power, this is a fairly small figure, especially when compared with analogues from other companies;
  • significant efficiency. Due to the design functionality of the pellet boiler, the maximum heat removal is observed in the internal part of the unit, which is confirmed by the low smoke temperature, and the efficiency is 93%;
  • hot water supply circuit. The Kiturami pellet boiler is a dual-circuit device. The presence of this component of the boiler makes it possible to significantly save on electric boiler. The Kiturami KRP-20A pellet boiler produces water at a temperature of 60 degrees, nine liters every minute;
  • fire protection system. At the end of the fuel supply conveyor at the burner inlet, a temperature sensor is mounted, which is a preventive measure against the occurrence of ignition. If the temperature begins to exceed the permissible limit, the electromagnetic damper is activated and the flame is extinguished by water located in a container specially designed for such cases;
  • volumetric coolant. The coolant located in the heat exchange compartment reaches a volume of 160 liters, which is twice as much as similar models from other companies. Such an impressive volume neutralizes the adverse effects of cold exhaust on the functioning of the boiler;
  • pneumatic flushing of the heat exchanger. Given technical device serves for cleaning the heat exchanger which is subject to contamination with resins, slag and fumes. Cleaning is carried out compressed air with a pressure of 9 atmospheres. The time interval for this procedure is regulated by the supplied control unit. Based on the quality of the source fuel, cleaning is carried out weekly or once a month;
  • thermostat with remote temperature sensor. This sensor allows you to monitor and regulate the operating modes of the boiler and adjust parameters while being at a distance from it.

Flaws

The disadvantages that can be found when operating the Kiturami KRP-20A pellet boiler are expressed in the following factors:

  • dependence on electricity. Along with the entire range of pellet boilers, KRP-20A is also energy-dependent. Electricity is needed for the operation of fans, a screw motor, a cleaning compressor, a heating element and a control unit. It is worth noting that electricity consumption is negligible. The most resource-intensive in this regard is a tubular electric heater; it needs about 400 watts to ignite, however, this requires 1 minute twelve times a day;
  • slag formation. The use of a flare burner device and low-quality fuel in the design of the Kiturami pellet boiler inevitably causes the formation of slag deposits on the grates. Slag is fuel particles coked at high temperatures.

Slag formations interfere with the normal functioning of the boiler and cause the appearance of soot, pellet costs increase by 25%, and accordingly the efficiency of the device decreases. To prevent such undesirable effects, the KRP-20A is equipped with a device for automatically cleaning the grate from caked combustion products.

Also, in addition to the listed shortcomings, there are some minor imperfections in the assembly of the device itself, but its cost more than covers these minor miscalculations.

Kiturami is continuously engaged in the technical development and improvement of its products, and also strives to satisfy all the needs in the field of heating devices of its potential and current consumers. Pellet boiler Kiturami - user reviews and ratings

According to statistics and rapidly gaining popularity, Kiturami pellet boilers are actively used by domestic consumers. In thematic blogs, forums and websites, the owners of these heating units share their opinions and leave reviews. Here are a few of them:

Artyom, Nizhnevartovsk:

I have a cottage of 150 square meters. The first season it worked for me without a single comment or glitch. It’s very convenient to use it in biofuel boiler mode; I arrived, laid the firewood and that’s it. I even pawned wood products, rotten wood, rejected boards, and wood chips. It consumes everything, burns everything and is quite effective. It is very convenient to use and allows you to dramatically reduce fuel consumption. Over the winter I burned 700 liters of diesel fuel on my cottage at average temperature at 20-22 degrees. Very pleased with the purchase. If you are looking, then feel free to buy from this Korean manufacturer, you will not be disappointed!

Ivan, Sergiev Posad:

I consider simple maintenance no more than an hour a day a big advantage. I throw in the pellets, adjust the temperature and that’s it. The Kiturami pellet boiler heats my small workshop of 270 square meters. My monthly boiler maintenance costs amount to 8,000-8,500 thousand rubles. I used to have a Czech boiler, I paid about 12-13 thousand monthly to feed it. Above all praise.

Semyon, Rostov-on-Don:

In general, my Kiturami pellet boiler paid for itself and completely justified itself in a season and a half. The boiler really acted as an alternative electrical apparatus. We don’t have gas, and it’s not known when it will be installed, and connecting to the pipe is not a cheap pleasure. By the way, my cottage is quite large, about 180 square meters. I was able to feel the financial difference between heating with electricity and heating with pellets already at the end of the first winter.

Igor, Kursk:

I have this boiler of 24 kilowatts 160 square meters and in some rooms it is charged for heated floors. I am very pleased with the self-cleaning function of the burner. When using high-quality pellets, I clean the ash pan once every week and a half. I advise you to buy the Kiturami KRP-20A Pellet Boiler, as its performance is enough to heat big house, supporting comfortable temperature, even in severe frost. I know what I’m talking about, since I’ve been using it for the fourth winter.

Vadim, Cherny Yar village:

Two of these units heat my room. roadside hotel and a cafe with an area of about 500 square meters. Thanks to the Kiturami pellet boiler, energy costs have been greatly reduced. A couple of years ago I used boilers from the USA and heating season I paid 1-1.5 million rubles for electricity alone, now with these two boilers I paid for last season with 180 thousand rubles!

Buyer's choice

In conclusion, I would like to note that the Kiturami KRP-20A pellet boiler, at the moment, at the end of 2017, perhaps remains one of the most attractive options for such equipment in terms of price-quality ratio. Large functionality, to the maximum and full extent, provide the consumer with warmth and comfort in their home.

We advise the demanding consumer to pay close attention to the kiturami autonomous pellet boiler, the price of which, although not included in the low category, is quite adequate for the domestic market. The kiturami boiler, deservedly for a long time, holds the leading position of supply in the market, keeping up with.

We would like to add that the manufacturer provides an extended warranty of up to 24 months, subject to registration of the Kiturami pellet boiler on the supplier’s official website. Watch a video about the Kiturami KRP-20A pellet boiler after two years of operation:
