"If you look at the Earth from another star system, then it becomes clear that Earth is a billion to ten billion dimmer in the visible light spectrum than our sun,” says Supriya Chakrabati, a physicist at the University of Massachusetts Lowell working on Project Blue. Therefore, identifying and photographing an Earth-like planet from long distance it will be incredible challenging task. Project Blue plans to use a coronagraph to make it possible to see even a dim planet around another star.

In general, a coronagraph is not such a new word in astronomy. As its name suggests, it was once used to study the sun's corona by blocking the light from the rest of the sun. Now researchers around the world are trying to repurpose this technology to block the light of more distant stars and use it to see planets that are usually hidden in the light of the sun.

Scientists must also create an instrument that can focus on the star at a long period without hesitating at all. "You'll have to make sure your hands don't shake when you take pictures," says Chakrabati.

Improved focusing and coronagraph capabilities, as well as a deformable mirror to help bring the image into focus, are being developed in laboratories around the world. But for the mission to be able to use them, all this will have to be somehow combined and launched.

Chakrabati has already tested these three aspects of the telescope (it will have an 18-inch mirror) in several short-term rocket experiments. The next step will be to fly a prototype of the technology on weather balloons to see how well the components function in near-space.

The scientists then plan to assemble the telescope and send it into low-Earth orbit on a commercial rocket, the way satellites are typically launched. On this moment Neither the company nor the rocket were chosen for the project, but in three years, according to the project leaders, they will be determined. Once launched, the telescope will operate for two years, photographing the Alpha Centauri system.

The final cost has not been determined, but Morse estimates it at tens of millions of dollars. Not a little, but much less than the billions that go into building universal space telescopes like Hubble. Project Blue's goal: build a telescope for $50 million. Or preferably cheaper.

“Building something specific to one task is much easier than building something for a broader task,” Howell says. “In principle, I think it will not be difficult. Well, or not easy. But probably".

Competitors

Project Blue is not the only project whose goal is to photograph exoplanets. Telescope WFIRST NASA developments will have to be able to photograph exoplanets. Hubble's successor space telescope James Webb, will not launch until the 2020s.

Other plans are even more expensive and distant. NASA's proposed EXO-C project, which would also look at exoplanets, would cost a billion dollars and would currently only get carte blanche if the WFIRST project goes under the knife.

Private enterprises are also interested in exploring Alpha Centauri. Yuri Milner's Breakthrough Starshot project plans to send thousands of tiny probes towards Alpha Centauri to take photographs close-up and study the system in more detail. But it will take years for it to take off, and another 20 years (at best) to reach Alpha Centauri.

Project Blue aims to be the least expensive and most... effective way obtain a direct image of a potential terrestrial planet in the Alpha Centauri system.

But under earth type you can understand a lot, and although in the best case we would like to see a twin of the Earth, in such a big universe, like ours, the options can be very different. While they would like to see the planet half or one and a half times more than Earth, so that it has an atmosphere, but not so large that gravity is unbearable. It is desirable for the planet to be in the habitable zone and with liquid water on the surface.

Morse says that liquid water in abundance will be one of the key features, which they will search for on the planet. If they find a planet with a blue tint, it would indicate liquid water, as well as possibly clouds and a mild greenhouse effect (like Earth, not Venus).

Finding Earth's twin so close will be interesting, but don't expect the first images to have much detail. Most likely it will be a small dot. But from this point a series of other, more interesting discoveries.

“If we find a pale blue dot near one of Alpha Centauri's stars, we will urgently build larger objects to increase the detail. One day we'll see weather conditions, mountain ranges or continents, and our interest will grow. This is the effect we would like to achieve,” says Morse.

How easy it is to remember the chorus is simple:
Oh oh oh.
It has three notes in total, but the text is like this:
Oh oh oh.
Please repeat after me:
Oh oh oh.
Chant when you return home:
Oh oh oh.

From our hopes and dreams,
We will build houses and bridges.

And we will sing all the best songs.

Let only those born in winter sing,
Oh oh oh.
And now only those who fell in love in the spring,
Oh oh oh.
Only women, women sing with me,
Oh oh oh.
And now we will listen to the men's choir,
Oh oh oh.

Soon, very soon, we will build a city
From our hopes and dreams,
And so that he is cheerful, from poems and songs
We will build houses and bridges.

Soon, very soon, to our magical city
We will invite all our friends to the holiday.
Let's get together, let's hold hands
And we will sing all the best songs.

Sing songs under the sun and under the moon,
Oh oh oh.
Sing in weekdays, sing on your day off,
Oh oh oh.
Sing in the green summer, icy winter,
Oh oh oh.
Sing so that the whole globe sings with you,
Oh oh oh.

Soon, very soon, we will build a city
From our hopes and dreams,
And so that he is cheerful, from poems and songs
We will build houses and bridges.

Soon, very soon, to our magical city
We will invite all our friends to the holiday.
Let's get together, let's hold hands
And we will sing all the best songs.

all this is so familiar to me...
I mean UNITY after another...
Back in 2004 I wrote:

*
Everyone is used to shouting: “NO TO TERROR!!!”
“WILL NOT COME TO US!!!”, “DO NOT INTERIMATE THE COUNTRY!!!”
What have you done, friend, for so many years,
So that children stop dying..?"

Little hands hung from my hands...
Lord, who gave the right
Sowing places of separation?
God, what a Power...

Everyone hid instantly.
Elections only endure
On the pedestals of battles,
Here the ears are weaker.

Where is their Unity?
All near the seas of Russia?
The look is infinitely dashing
Only the stands are beautiful.

Who brought it into that hell?
School flowers bouquets?
Along the sidewalks of tears
Childhood is half dressed.

The body, not daring to mature,
He wears clusters of metal.
Could the president be watching?
How are our youth being mowed down?

The words fly nicely:
“AGAIN (for the hundredth time) LET’S UNITE!”
Youth is half alive...
We are fasting again without fasting.

Drops of water, like a gift...
Thirst was burning...
For the thousandth time there is a fire!
Apparently this is not enough for you...

God... what an example
Courage and bravery...
The officer was crying there
Looking into brown eyes.
He brought it out and... didn’t deliver...
The naked body became silent...
And there are no tears on my cheeks...
Cool sipping a pound of dashing.

Just a fragment down
The body flew into the field
Only metro cornice
Was painted with blood...
Human misfortune is not enough
To pass laws
Purer than sea water
Formidable as icons
In the hour of wars that burned everything...?
God, what pain...
A terrible long-drawn howl...
The sounds of crying don't stop...

You never know from lead
Did you hang your heads down?
Isn't there enough of a calf yet?
Explosions incinerated
Torn into a hundred pieces
Where are identifications futile..?
Faces of security forces
Clear as coins.

The system is being assembled again.
Slogan: “NO TO TERROR!!!”
You are my mind, wait,
Is this how they come out of trouble?
I can't find the words
Are there fools everywhere?
Where are you, our Gryzlov?
Where is Nurgaliev?
Patrushev is dozing again...
Got a sea tan?
And there is blood on the bouquets,
And there’s a fire in my soul

“WE CAN’T BE BROKEN!!!” sounds...
The eyebrows are tired of frowning.
We should heal our heads,
We are constantly being fooled!

“THEY WANT TO INTERIMATE US!!!”
They distract with a slogan
They're droning on TV.
Lives are melting, melting...

There must be another Call:
“ALL “POWER MAN” - RESIGN!”
Native in our country
There was blood on the grass.
You can shout words
YOU CAN DO THE THING.
Scarlet blue
Doesn't decorate the body...

How much more? Question...
How long do curses last?
Conscience with thorns of roses
Will it appeal to the soul???

How long will it take
To the land of such silent ones?
Will ACTION break the ice?
Within the walls of corruption???

We walk nicely
Clapping at the parade!!!
Little ones can't wait for Spring
And can't wait for the wedding...

I know it's not the end...
You can't learn endurance...
Explosion gym
It might light up again.
But the Eyes will not forgive,
Even though they have become transparent...
False words
Everyone is so tired of listening.

There is a blockage of desks in the windows...
Briefcases thrown off shoulders...
Everywhere they shout: “VIVAT!”
The explosions didn't stop...

New Case... Court...
Echoes in the walls lurks -
“Mom, will they save us..?”
“Why can’t you sleep...”

In my opinion, a lot has seriously changed in our country, but the CE of Europe and the USA still have the same drowsiness from the peace in which they believe.
