The pump is stuck in the well: what to do. How to get a pump out of a well: such necessary tips How to get an Aquarius pump out of a well

A submersible pump operating in a water well sometimes has to be taken to the surface for repairs, preventive maintenance, or replacement with new or more powerful equipment. If the source is equipped correctly, and you periodically check the condition of the device and its fastening, there will be no problems with this. But if it happens that a pump gets stuck in the well, how can you get it out of there without damaging anything or breaking the cable?

Causes of the problem and solutions

Can you name one common cause, due to which the pump becomes difficult or even impossible to remove from the well. This is non-compliance technological requirements to the construction of the well itself and the mounting of equipment in it, as well as improper operation source of water. If the instructions were strictly followed during this work, dismantling the device will be easy and simple.

What leads to such consequences?

Siltation of a sand well

But it is even more important to equip it correctly, starting with the manufacture of the casing, which must be perfectly straight, with smooth inner walls.

  • Install sediment in the well of such a diameter that the gap between its body and the pipe walls is sufficient. It will cost more than larger analogues, but its price cannot be compared with the cost of equipment new well.
  • To install submersible equipment, use only a strong, high-quality stainless steel cable, securely attaching it to the device.
  • Neither the hanger nor the pressure hose must be spliced from separate sections. They may come apart when lifting the pump; pieces will fall down and jam it, preventing free movement.
  • To electrical cable does not sag, attach it with clamps to the hose before starting to lower the device into the well.

Note. You should not tie the cable to a suspension cable - the clamps may fly off if the tension is too strong.

  • To prevent foreign objects and debris from getting into the well, install a special cap on it (see), tightly closing the mouth.

Conclusion

The video in this article will show you what to do if you cannot pull the pump out of the well. If you have not yet been affected by this problem, re-read the advice given above and think about what you can do to prevent this from happening in the future.

Those who have a well are in most cases familiar with the problem of a pump getting into it. Putting it back in place is quite problematic. Often, such a mechanism simply gets stuck in the pipe for unknown reasons. This problem needs to be solved in a timely manner. In practice, situations occur in which the device becomes very stuck and cannot be removed, i.e. it becomes impossible to get out of there. How to get the pump out of the well? To do this, you should take a number of measures, which can be found below.

When starting to implement such measures, it is important to take into account that this problem is associated with a certain risk of loss of both the pump itself and the well. As a result, many consumers are deprived of their usual comfort. To prevent such troubles, preventative maintenance should be carried out periodically. If you cannot remove the pump yourself, you must use the services of professionals. However, this opportunity is not always available, and the majority of people carry out this work on their own.

The reasons for the pump getting into the well are described below.

Loose electrical cable

If sagging is observed when removing the pump from the well electric wire with its subsequent folding into a loop and getting tied in the space between the side boundaries of the pipe and the mechanism, then the final result can only be the breaking of the cable. To protect yourself from the listed failures, it is important to take certain actions at the stage of constructing such a device. This is a reliable fixation of the cable to the pipe or hose that pumps out water. The pump should be pulled out especially carefully, controlling its movement. Weakness must not be allowed.

How to get the pump out of the well? To do this, you need to carefully, slowly, pull out the device. At low pressure or poor movement, it is necessary to loosen the thrust and lower the mechanism down. As soon as the obstacle to movement disappears, you can start working again. There's no need to rush. If there is no proper downward movement of the pump independent actions will be doomed to failure. Further manipulations often lead to irretrievable loss of the unit.

Covering the well with a layer of silt

If the well has not been used for its intended purpose for a long time, it can quickly become overgrown with silt deposits that completely cover the pump. This problem is the most common. To get the mechanism back, you need to rock it. Of course, the result is unlikely to be positive, but it is quite possible to take such actions. To do this, take a cable and the pump begins to move using the piston movement method. To achieve results, it is important to make gradual and uniform movements. Even a slight tearing of the mechanism from the bottom provides a reason for the successful completion of the work. The device will move up, and the sludge will rush down.

As soon as a stuck pump appears on the surface, it must be removed immediately. It is important to remember that excessive efforts can lead to the opposite consequences, such as breaking the rope. The best option there will be a synchronous pulling of the hose and the cable itself, preventing them from deflecting. The well should be pumped, the degree of water contamination should be determined, samples should be taken for bacteriological analysis, and taken to the appropriate laboratory.

As soon as the owner begins to pull the pump by the rope and hose, the following situation is often observed: the cable does not sag, the mechanism rises unhindered, and suddenly it slows down, encountering an obstacle. In this case, the downward movement occurs unhindered. The pump encountered an obstacle on its way in the form of a part of the pipe, its uneven edge and defects.

The way out of this situation would be to slowly pull this device up, while doing this rotational movements vertically. In this way, you can achieve removal of the pump from the well.

Presence of a foreign object in the well

If the well owner begins the work of lifting the device and it moves easily at first, it may get stuck at a certain point and it will not be so easy to remove it. In this case, the downward movement is unhindered, but the upward movement is difficult. Here we can talk about the presence of a foreign object in the passage. It could be anyone fallen object, fastener and other. This often happens, because the distance between the mechanism and the pipe is very small, so the slightest obstacle will affect the movement of the device.

After this, the rope and hose must be straightened, providing strong tension, and the pump must be secured into the well. In this case, you need to contact specialists, explaining to them the reason for your application.

Presence of a plug in the well

A well of artesian type or connected to limestone begins to produce stale water after some time. Many owners of this design in most cases resort to raising pumping equipment to the surface. In this case, the mechanism rises with great difficulty, the rope is pulled as tightly as possible, until it breaks. In this case, we can talk about the appearance of a limestone plug in the well. This phenomenon occurs due to the rare use of such a device. The pump is in a low position, resulting sediment is deposited on the device, leading to plugs.

Such growths arise from iron and calcium salts, which are very abundant in soils middle zone Russia. The pump rarely works and is located very low. Liquid stagnation occurs and the substances in question are deposited on the device. It is difficult even for a strong pump to cope with such a layer. In addition, over time, the cork increases in size, reaching 30 meters. It is simply impossible to cope with such a problem on your own. If it is possible to remove the pump, then the following reason may appear: the well loses its initial depth indicators, which may be halved.

It should be clear that even experienced craftsmen With professional equipment they cannot get the mechanism out of the well. You should not use any equipment yourself. To solve the problem, you need to contact professionals who, using special equipment, will do the job efficiently.

If the well contains a plug, then actions of any nature can cause the rope, hose or cable to break.

And no organization can promise to remove the pump from the span. The procedure is associated with the complete destruction of the structure by a drilling machine. The cost of such work will be high, and it is used more often at industrial facilities.

  1. You cannot purchase low-quality cable made from cheap materials. It must be made of stainless steel. Elements made of similar material are also used as fastening elements. It is not recommended to use various ropes, wires with a plastic base and materials as improvised means. Low quality. They can easily end up at the bottom of the well.
  2. The well does not allow the use of ropes or hoses made up of parts. During their use, the connecting elements may become separated and torn. And this threatens with the following consequences: part of the torn piece will get stuck in the space between the wall and the mechanism, which will subsequently lead to jamming of the pump.
  3. Installation of the structure is not allowed if the hole is smaller. This is a technological error.
  4. The presence of a head on the span makes it well protected. Foreign objects will not fall into the hole.

Once the equipment is removed, it is, in most cases, replaced with new equipment. In order for the work to be carried out correctly, you should contact the craftsmen, who will easily find out the cause of the jamming and put the new device in place. All of the above recommendations will help you cope with this problem in a short period of time.

It may be necessary to remove a well pump submerged tens of meters various reasons. And during the ascent it often occurs unpleasant situation when the unit gets stuck or, even worse, falls down. What to do if the pump is stuck in the well and how to lift it in the easiest and most convenient way in a safe way? There are several reasons for such troubles, which will determine the choice of actions to remove equipment. Under no circumstances should you panic and use brute force: this may result in damage or loss of equipment (the cable may break and the unit may fall down), water intake equipment, and even complete loss of the well.

Borehole pumps are manufactured in such a way that their geometry matches as closely as possible cylindrical shape casing pipe and its diameter. The average diameter of the pumping equipment casing is 10-15 cm, and usually there is no space left between the walls of the well and the unit. long distance- only 2-4 cm. Therefore, pumps can get stuck quite easily.

Fig.1 Modern borehole pumps

How to get the pump out of the well if it is stuck? It all depends on the reasons why the equipment remains inside despite efforts made to remove it. The most common factors that prevent smooth extraction pump equipment, such:

  • wrapping a broken or sagging cable around the equipment casing;
  • siltation due to prolonged lack of maintenance;
  • various damage to the casing;
  • objects falling between the walls of the unit body and the well.

Before pulling the pump out of the well, it is recommended to observe the situation while attempting to remove the equipment. Based on some indirect signs, it is possible to determine why the unit cannot be removed outside. If possible, a special video camera is used, which is immersed in the well and transmits the image to a PC monitor, allowing you to determine exactly why it is impossible to remove the unit.

Cable wrapping

When lifting stuck pumping equipment, the power cable is often in a free state without additional fixation, which is why it sags. When removing equipment, the broken wire is often wrapped around the housing, forming a loop, which makes lifting the unit up impossible. Main sign that a winding has occurred - complete immobility of the unit, which remains in place even with significant efforts when trying to lift it.

Fig.2 A wrapped pump cable is one of the common reasons problems when extracting from the well

There is no need to forcefully tug or pull the cable: it will break and the device may be lost forever. This problem can be solved simply: you need to lower the equipment back to its previous depth, loosen the cable to increase the diameter of the loop, and then carefully pull the pump up again. In most cases, the equipment is pulled out on the first or second try.

Siltation of the well

If the well has not been cleaned for a long time, then it is very likely that the pump has become stuck in a layer of silt, and it will be blocked by a thick layer of sand, clay or limestone, which can be up to several meters thick. To remove the pump in such a situation, you need to be patient.

The method of releasing equipment from under a thick layer of sediment takes time: it is necessary to slowly remove it, gently “swinging” and moving the cable up and down so that particles of sand or clay gradually sag along the edges of the case. Once the sediment is washed away with water, the pump can be easily removed. In the future, it is necessary to regularly clean the well to avoid re-sucking of the equipment into the sludge layer.

Damage to the casing wall

During long-term operation of a well, various damages often occur. If during lifting the pump gets stuck in any area, and when you try to lift it you feel a mechanical obstacle and hear the sound of impacts, then the problem is damage to the pipe. on her inner surface a dent, chip, discrepancy could form weld and other similar damage.

To safely remove the equipment, it must be rotated to allow it to clear the obstacle. However, in this case there is no guarantee that the pump will come out on its own. In some cases, the situation may turn out to be hopeless, and it will be necessary to drill a new well.

Hitting objects

If during the operation of a well some object falls into it - a bolt, a pebble - then this can firmly block the unit and, unfortunately, it is very difficult to cope with such a problem without the help of specialists. In most cases, you have to call a team with probing equipment. If you're lucky, specialists will offer the optimal solution, but most often you will have to sacrifice technology.

The pump came off and fell inside

If the cable holding the equipment breaks and the submersible pump falls into the well, then careless and unprofessional actions on the part of the well owners can lead to irreparable consequences. Therefore, it is better in this case to also call specialists armed special equipment and a set of cables for extraction. Even if you believe in your strength, lifting broken pumping equipment from the bottom of a well or well will be technically difficult.

Fig.3 Crane for removing the pump from the well

Since the depth of wells is usually several tens of meters, lifting will require a specially shaped load, crane or one or two winches, a long thin cable, special gripping elements (cats), metal wire, canvas gloves. During the lifting process, it will be necessary to take care of protection against falling foreign objects.

All this requires a balanced and thoughtful approach, and optimal solution in 99% of cases there will be a call to specialists. Don’t risk the well, but trust to raise it fallen pump professionals!

From time to time, many homeowners have to deal with the problem of a pump stuck or falling to the bottom of the well. If you wish, you can remove the pump from the well, as well as remove it yourself. But you need to do everything in accordance with the instructions so as not to harm the equipment and the well. And before you figure out how to pull out the pump, you need to know why it might get stuck or fall.

To avoid the pump getting stuck in the well, all work must be carried out extremely carefully.

Why can pumps get stuck in wells?

In order not to pull out the pump in the future, you need to immediately find out why it might get stuck or fall. In practice, this most often leads to the following:

To avoid the pump getting stuck in the well, it must be selected according to the diameter of the well.

  1. Wrong selection well pump. If the diameter of the purchased unit does not meet the manufacturer's requirements, it may get stuck. For example, if the pump has a diameter of 100 mm (4 inches), then it must be installed in a well with a diameter of at least 110 mm. If you don't comply with this important requirement, during installation the pump may become skewed, and when lifted it will simply jam. Especially often this problem occurs where the steady water level is located in the open trunk of the source. The installation of a deep-well pump in such situations is carried out in an open hole. In such sources, due to the backwater of water, cracks widen and rocks break off. As a result, the pump may jam due to rock particles. Of course, you can pull out the pump, but you will have to spend time and money. Therefore, it is better to immediately select the appropriate equipment.
  2. The pump may get stuck due to errors during its installation. In particular, when the pump is lowered into the well, it is necessary to tie up the submersible cable in the pipe every 3-4 meters, a maximum of 5 m. Everything is done so that the cable is under slight tension. There is no need to tie a safety rope to the water-lifting pipe. If you do not do this, the pump will get stuck during lifting due to the submersible cable being tangled. In some situations, this type of problem occurs when using a rubber hose to perform the functions of a water lift pipe. It is highly recommended not to omit deep well pump using a flexible rubber hose.
  3. The equipment may break or unwind from the pipe and hang on the cable. Most often, this problem happens with powerful pumps, especially with domestically produced units. ECV type. Typically, installation of this type of equipment is carried out without the use of a safety rope. Instead, a steel water-lifting pipe is used. At the moment of equipment startup, a strong torque effect occurs due to the fact that additional measures There is no safety, the pump is twisted with the water-lifting pipe.

How to free a stuck pump?

The pump can be reached using homemade instrument consisting of a pipe and a curved spiral of fittings welded to it.

There are several methods to remove the pump from the well and return it to its normal position. A specific solution is selected taking into account what exactly led to the equipment getting stuck.

Thus, the pump may get stuck at the moment of lifting and stop moving upward even with great force. This is one of the most common problems. Pull the pump out of the well in this case quite simple. The reason, as a rule, is that the cable has sagged and is wrapped around the unit. To get rid of the problem, you need to carefully lower the equipment into the well, remove the slack in the cable and try to lift the unit. Make sure that there is no slack along the length of the cable, cable and hose. Preventing this is extremely simple. To do this, attach the cable to the hose using special clamps. In the future, if you need to lift the pump, these clamps will have to be removed and new ones installed instead, but it will definitely take you more time to pull the pump out of the well if it gets stuck.

Sometimes it happens that the pump that for a long time served without any complaints, it gets stuck so that it is impossible to get it out. Most often occurs in sand wells. The reason is their silting. The equipment is simply blocked by precipitation. In this case, the structure has to be “rocked”. To do this, you will need to carefully pull the cable up, and then also carefully lower it down until the unit is torn away from the sludge. The water will flow into the gap and gradually wash away the sediment, allowing you to carefully remove the pump. To avoid this annoying problem, clean your well annually.

To remove a stuck pump, you need to carefully swing it different sides.

The pump can also get stuck in a limestone well if it is not maintained for a long time. The situation is almost the same as in the case described above. Wells on limestone do not silt, but the so-called. reverse siltation. This is caused by deepening the equipment too much. Because of this, the water surrounding it begins to stagnate. The water contains iron and potassium salts. When interacting with oxygen, they gradually turn into sediment. The latter is assembled at the end of the unit and pipes. Flushing the well in such a situation will not give any results, because... The sediment has a very high density. As in the previously described situation, the pump will need to be pumped carefully and slowly. The pump must be turned on. This way the water will get rid of the nozzle faster. In the future, pay more attention to source care and correct installation equipment.

When should you turn to professionals?

If the equipment is stuck in the middle of the source and there is a sound of impact, then the progress of the unit is hampered by damage to the pipe. It may appear due to the appearance of a dent, flattening of the edge, divergence of the joint, etc. In this case, you will need to give the equipment a rotational movement. Thanks to such manipulations, the pump can pass by the interfering place, but there are no guarantees. If you can’t do everything yourself, then in order to pull the pump out of the well, you will have to call specialists.

If the pump gets caught on a protrusion of the casing pipe, it must be slowly lifted while simultaneously rotating the hose around its axis so that it goes around the obstacle.

If the unit suddenly gets stuck, the reason may be that a stone, bolt, etc. was accidentally dropped into the source. The object falls into the space between the well wall and the pump, causing the equipment to jam. The most reasonable solution in this case is to call professionals, because... You most likely will not be able to fix the problem on your own.

If no effort to free the stuck pump produces positive results, try pushing the unit down. This can be done, for example, by means of connected steel couplings or other suitable devices. If the distance to the stuck pump is very long, you will have to use a drilling rig with a fishing tool.

What to do if the pump falls?

It is quite difficult to lift the pump from the well, but if you really want to, you can do it. You will have to spend a certain amount of money and time, but the cost of developing a new well will definitely require much more significant investments. To lift the pump you will need the following:

  1. Steel wire. The length will have to be calculated individually. To do this, add 5 m to the depth of your well. As for the diameter, 3-4 mm will be enough.
  2. Tempered steel rod. 1 m is enough. The diameter should be about 0.5 cm.
  3. Welding machine.
  4. A crane-manipulator designed to lift weights weighing at least 100 kg and to a height of 7 m.
  5. Protective gloves.

In most cases, it is not possible to do without a crane for the reason that it is difficult for even two strong men to lift the pump from the well. The equipment is quite heavy, and it needs to be lifted continuously, which is very difficult. If you stop, the pump is almost 100% likely to fall off the hook. In addition to the crane, you will need one reliable assistant.

A hardened rod is used to create a grip. He bends into a hook. The ends need to be further sharpened. this work will require use welding machine. The finished hook is welded with steel wire. The second end of the wire is attached to the arrow of the crane.

The work itself is extremely simple.

You need to lower the hook into the well and, making screw and rotational movements, securely hook the hose or at least the pump wires. The method is suitable for sources of almost any depth.

If the pump is successfully engaged, it must be lifted and removed from the well using a crane.

Preparing for such work will take you a maximum of 1-1.5 hours. It may take several hours to lift the pump itself. It all depends on how successful your hooks are and how quickly you can hook the cable or hose of the unit. As for costs, the main component is the price of renting a lift. If you have the time and desire, you can make such a device yourself. This way you will reduce costs and save additional money. Good luck!

The operation of deep wells involves the use of submersible pumping equipment, which is lowered into the shaft under the water surface. The pump must be lifted periodically for repairs or Maintenance. During lifting of the unit, the problem of jamming of the casing in the casing pipe may arise. What to do if the pump gets stuck in the well, and how to avoid similar situations in the future?

In what cases can the pump get stuck?

Some owners personal plots encounter housing jamming pumping unit during her first descent into the mine. There may be two reasons for this - incorrect selection of the pump diameter and the presence of irregularities, narrowings or protrusions in the barrel. When choosing equipment, you should select a model whose dimensions are 15-20 mm smaller than the diameter of the casing pipe. If the purchased device does not meet this condition, it is enough to replace it with a more suitable one in size.

In the second case, before installing the water supply system, it is necessary to inspect the entire length of the wellbore and remove obstacles that prevent the free descent of the pump.

A more difficult problem to resolve is the device jamming during lifting. Such a need may arise when replacing the unit, performing repair work or performing equipment maintenance. The sequence of actions in this case will depend on the suspected cause that could cause the housing to jam.

The cable, electrical cable and hose must be connected very securely, otherwise during lifting one of the elements may break, which will lead to distortion and re-building of the pump

Let's take a closer look possible situations and let’s look at ways that can help you get a stuck pump without involving specialists.

Sagging electrical cable

One of the conditions for installing submersible models is to fix the power cable on the cable with clamps at a certain distance. When securing the electrical cable, you must ensure that it does not sag. Failure to follow this recommendation may lead to the fact that after some time the electric cable will sag and, when lifted, wrap around the housing, blocking it in the shaft.

How to get the pump out of the well in this case? The pump should be lowered to the bottom, and the released cable should be carefully pulled up to eliminate the resulting slack. When the cable and cable have almost the same tension (the power cord should be looser), you can begin to lift the pump again.

Securing the cord and feed pipe to the suspension cable will help avoid future jams. You can use special clamps or clips for this. They should be placed in increments of 1-1.5 m. Tighten the clamp so that the connection is strong but does not damage the power cable.

Siltation

When wells made in light soils and with a sandy bottom are idle, a situation is possible when the unit located in the mine becomes covered with silt. If the silt has not yet hardened, you can pull out the device as follows: alternately tighten and loosen the hanging cord, trying to swing the top of the body in different directions. After some time, you can try to pull the cable vertically. If there is no result, you can repeat the same steps again.

If the output was not used long time, the silt accumulated in the lower part of the trunk could be compressed. In such a situation, the sludge should be thoroughly soaked before removing the device. To do this, take a hose or pipe of sufficient length and lower it into the shaft. The upper end of the hose is connected to another pump and water begins to flow under pressure. Periodically it is necessary to turn off the water and try to tighten the cable. The erosion process can take from several hours to 1-2 days. Its duration will depend on the thickness of the sludge layer and the time it settles at the bottom of the well.

To prevent siltation of the well, it is necessary to periodically clean the mine. The problem of silting is faced by those land owners who did not clean hydraulic structure for several years.

Formation of solid deposits

Most limestone wells are characterized by the problem of formation of salt deposits. During the operation of the source, first a sediment is formed from the metals and salts contained in the water, and then solid growths, the thickness of which can reach several centimeters. Such deposits can appear on the walls casing pipes, and on the pump housing.

You can remove the pump unit using one of the following methods:

Rinse the shaft with a stream of water. The pressure must be sufficient to erode the salt deposits. This method is suitable for small formations.

Pour a concentrated solution of lemon or acetic acid. Such solutions are usually used to remove scale from dishes. It is not advisable to use chemical salt solvents in drinking wells, but vinegar and citric acid can cope with even large growths and thorns. The method is suitable for resolving situations when pumping equipment has failed and requires replacement. If you plan to use the device in the future, you should not pour acid into the water - it can damage the working elements of the pump part and the engine.

Better not to use citric acid to remove limescale from a submersible pump that you plan to use in the future

If the unit is mounted on a metal cable, you can try the tapping method. The cable is slightly pulled and tapped with a hammer to create vibration. Periodic tapping and slowly pulling the cable will destroy the build-up. If there is a large accumulation of sediment, the process may take several days.

As a last resort you can use chemicals to remove scale. You should buy powder for cleaning washing and dishwashers. The product is diluted hot water according to the instructions and poured into the shaft. If the pumping unit is in working condition, you should turn it on for a few minutes to set the water in the barrel in motion. To prepare the solution you will need enough a large number of powder (10-20 packs). If the formations are thick, the procedure will need to be repeated. The disadvantages of the method include it high cost and the need to clean the well from chemical impurities.

The appearance of irregularities in the casing pipe

During seasonal swelling of the soil individual elements shafts may move if the joint connections are not sufficiently reliable. As a result, irregularities, roughness, plastic pipes with significant lateral pressure they are susceptible to flattening. The appearance of irregularities may be indicated by a dull knock of the case against the wall. This assumption can also be confirmed by the time the problem appeared: if in the fall the pump housing moved freely in the shaft, and in the spring an obstacle arose, the reason most likely lies in the displacement of some elements of the shaft. How to get the pump out of the well in such cases?

If the shaft is slightly deformed, you can try to change the position of the device by slowly rotating the cord around its axis and deviating from vertical position in different directions. In this case, it is necessary to periodically try to lift the unit. Do not pull the cord too hard; this will not only not help you remove the equipment, but may also cause the cord to break.

If the casing pipe located close to the surface is damaged, then it is advisable to partially remove the casing up to the link with the stuck pump and replace or repair it

If there is a strong displacement of the pipes, specialists will have to be involved in removing the unit. In some cases, even the equipment they have does not allow them to pull the pump out. A possible solution is to mothball the old well and drill a new one. Another labor-intensive and costly method is to crush the device with a special installation and extract it to the surface in parts.

The reason for such situations is non-compliance with technology during drilling operations, incorrect choice casing pipes and insufficiently strong fastening of elements during installation of the structure.

Foreign object entering the shaft

When lifting the pump, it is necessary to remove tools, fasteners and other equipment away from the mouth of the barrel. small items, capable of falling into the well. If a foreign object does cause the pumping unit to become stuck, proceed as follows:

  • the pump is carefully rocked, trying to ensure that the object falls into the increased gap between the wall and the housing;
  • you can try to push it with a rigid hose lowered into the barrel or a weight tied to a rope.

If the object still blocks the device, you should stop unsuccessful attempts on your own and call specialists.

Broken cord

The lifting cord can break due to wear, tearing at the joints (if it consists of several pieces), or attempts to pull the stuck pump to the surface. Devices with light weight, it is allowed to pull by the supply pipe and power cable. Heavy units should be pulled out using a rope with a metal hook lowered into the shaft. It should hook into the eyelet on the top of the housing.

Cable included in the kit submersible pump, is often not strong enough, the best option- replace it with a reliable cable purchased separately

Most difficult situation is a sudden break in the cable, cable and hose and the device falls. How to pull a pump out of a well if it has fallen to the bottom of the well?

You can try to pick up the fallen unit with a hook or grapple, but it will be quite difficult to pull it out: it is almost impossible to level the body in a horizontal position when using such devices.

If the depth of the mine is shallow, you can try the following method:

  • you should take a metal rod that will reach the bottom of the well;
  • a sharp nozzle resembling a corkscrew in shape is welded to the bottom of the rod;
  • a bar is put on the upper end to ensure rotation of the rod along its axis;
  • the device is lowered into the shaft and the lower end is screwed into the body.

The method is very labor-intensive, and equipment removed in this way will become unusable.

Is it possible to prevent submersible units from getting stuck?

The following recommendations will help significantly reduce the likelihood of a pump getting stuck:

  • drilling and development of the mine must be carried out in compliance with all requirements of the technological process;
  • when choosing pipes, first of all, you should take into account the characteristics of the soil and the likelihood of its seasonal displacement, and not just the price of certain products;
  • the equipment must be fixed in the well with a strong cable that is resistant to moisture and corrosion; it is not recommended to use a cable consisting of several pieces;
  • the cable and supply pipe must be secured to the cable using reliable clamps;
  • the head at the top of the shaft will prevent foreign objects from falling;
  • It is necessary to periodically clean the trunk from silt and salt deposits.

The reason for the occurrence of problematic situations in most cases is unjustified savings on performing work, purchasing Supplies and maintenance of mines.
