BIOGRAPHY

|HISTORY is LOEN Entertainment's first five-member male idol group. The group debuted on April 26, 2013 with the track "Dreamer".

  • Formation, pre-debut, debut
On April 12, 2013, LOEN Entertainment announced the formation of a new boy group. It was soon revealed that the group would debut on the 26th of the same month. It was also revealed that the group will include already known faces: Ijeong, who participated in “Star Audition: The Great Birth Season II” and Dokyun, who was previously part of the group Buzz.

Before the group's debut, several episodes are released to highlight the group and its members. The episodes were titled "Do you know us?" Episodes aired from April 15 to April 19.

The debut took place on “Show! Music Core" April 27. The group received positive reviews for their abilities.

  • Change of concept
On August 6, 2013, LOEN made an announcement about the group's imminent return to the stage with a new mini-album, Just Now. Teaser photos of the members were soon released. The title song of the mini-album, "Tell Me Love", was written by member of the duo Eluphant Kebee.

History(Korean: 히스토리) is a South Korean boy group formed under LOEN Entertainment in 2013. They debuted on April 26, 2013 with "Dreamer", which featured fellow label member IU. They were LOEN Entertainment's first boy group.

Story

Pre-debut

On April 12, 2013, LOEN Entertainment announced that the unit would debut with the release of "History" on the 26th of that month. At the same time, they introduced two members of the group, Kim Shi Hyun (who previously appeared on the third season of Ulzzang Generation) and Jang Yi Jung (who appeared in Birth of a Great Star 2).

Before debuting with the group, Na Do Kyun was the vocalist of the rock ballad group Buzz under the stage name Naeul, while Song Kyung Il was a dancer in IU's "Beautiful Dancer" and Fiestar's "Vista" music videos, as well as IU's "Cruel Fairy Tale" performances. " on SBS Inkigayo and GD TV. Kyung Il was also part of the de facto group Nuthang (pronounced "Nutang"), whose members included G-Dragon and BIGBANG's T.O.P.

2013: Debut with “Dreamer”, Just Now, And Blue Spring

In April 2013, LOEN Entertainment released the group's first teaser, titled "Do you know us?", which featured singer IU. A series of trailers featuring the five members, titled "Real Dating Tip Book", was also released, and it was announced that actress and singer Son Dam Bi will appear in the upcoming music video for debut single "Dreamer". The single was composed by Lee Min Soo and Kim Ena, and the rap part was composed by Sunny Hill's Minsoon. The group made their first live concert on the Music Bank show.

On August 20, History released the single "Tell Me Love" (produced by W. C. Hu Jung, composed by Lee Kwang Wook, lyrics by Eluphant's Keebee) and mini-album Just Now.

The group's second mini-album, Blue Spring, was released in November of the same year, which was produced by Jo Yoon-cheol, with lyrics written by Kim Ian. The title track "What Am I To You" was released on November 26th with a music video directed by Hwang Soo Ah, who previously worked on IU's singles "The Red Shoes" and "Good Day", as well as Ga-In's "Bloom". . Soon after, Ijeong appeared on IU's single "Friday" from the bound album Modern Times - Epilogue. 2014 - 2016: Desire, Beyond the History, And HIM

On June 23, 2014, History returned with a five-track EP Desire, including the title track "Psycho", composed by Lee Min-soo and East4A with lyrics by Kim Ian. Yijeong contributed to the lyrics for the tracks "I Got U" and "Blue Moon". The EP was also produced by producer Cho Yang Chul, who previously worked on his debut album "Dreamer" and his previous mini-albums Just Now and Blue Spring.

The band released their fourth EP Beyond the History on May 20, 2015, along with the title track "Might Just Die".

The following year, on April 11, 2016, they released their fifth EP, HIM, with the title track "Queen".

2017: Disbandment

On May 12, FAVE Entertainment announced the group's disbandment after 4 years of debut. The agency also added that all members will retain their exclusive contracts, but the group itself will no longer promote together.
