MPGU in English. Moscow City Pedagogical University. Sample version of the entrance exam to Moscow Pedagogical State University

The uniqueness of the Fundamental Physics in English program is that we offer study of the subject in a foreign language. At the undergraduate level, no university in Russia offers the study of physics in English. This program is led by outstanding scientists: Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of General and Experimental Physics IFTIS MPGU Grigory Naumovich Goltsman, as well as Professor of the Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), laureate of the Kamerlingh Onnes Prize “For many years of pioneering research on superconductivity” Teunis Martin Klapvik. Mr. Klapvik received a presidential mega-grant to create a new scientific laboratory at Moscow State University - this is a very large project.

This year, 20 budget places have been allocated to Physics in English, and it is obvious that the strongest applicants will receive them. The passing score has not yet been determined, but those who do not fall into the top twenty will be able to study on a commercial basis. Despite the fact that our tuition fees are significantly lower than at the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University, even this level is not available to everyone (in 2015, the cost of training for the Fundamental Physics program at Moscow State University was 174,500 rubles per year, at Moscow State University - 325,000 rubles per year). What to do?
Even if you don’t have enough money to pay for a quality education, the first piece of advice is obvious: concentrate all your efforts on 3 subjects (physics, mathematics, Russian) - practice the Unified State Exam.

Now the second tip: high school students can easily increase their score Unified State Exam yet by as much as 10! To do this you need to bring admissions committee your portfolio of individual achievements: participation in Olympiads, a certificate with honors, a gold TRP badge... If you don’t have this, it doesn’t matter. We will help them, and this is important. After all, MPGU has internal Olympiads in physics and robotics (March 12 and April 9), as well as a project competition (March 26).

And one last piece of advice. Not everyone understands the advantages of studying physics here at MPGU, where the level of physics teaching has never been inferior to the physics department of the Big University. Due to the fact that the physics department of MPGU is not so numerous, we all know each other, and there is a very friendly, almost homely atmosphere. We're doing well. We can provide individual approach to every student. And here pedagogical profile university becomes our absolute advantage. In our country, fundamental physics coexists with exciting science, serious science with popular science, students with schoolchildren, and teachers with scientists. It's interesting to study with us. After such a long preface, the advice is the following: if you are talented and hardworking, but you were unlucky and did not have enough points for the budget, and your parents do not have funds to compensate for your bad luck, then you have one last chance - the University will support your talent in the form of discounts on tuition or an internal training grant that you can earn in the first semester.
