Rules for reading prayers

Since we most belong to Christianity, Orthodox prayers will have the greatest power on our land. However, for a believer there are no territorial boundaries, since he can communicate with God at any point in space and even in any dimension. At the same time, the church has established certain rules according to which it is necessary to read these special texts.

First of all, you need to say the prayer while standing. Your face should be turned towards the east - where the sun rises. Women are required to cover their heads and wear decent clothing (for public prayers).

Sacred texts call on believers to pray constantly, so this can be done at any time of the day and in front of any icon (for example, the icon of Our Lady of Kazan is believed to have great power). At today's pace of life, a special rule has been created, according to which it is enough to pray three times a day (morning-afternoon-evening).

It is mandatory to attend Sunday services (public services in the Temple) to receive grace. You can also always come to church whenever you need it, because the doors of this special place are always open to everyone.

It is necessary to prepare for any prayer. To begin with, you should carefully read the text of the prayers for children. You must understand every word you speak. It must come not only from your lips, but also from your heart. It is advisable to memorize all the main prayers so as not to stumble while reading them.

Before you begin to pray, try to expel from your heart all the resentments and any bitterness that is present in it. If you want to see goodness from God, you must experience for yourself what it is to be kind.

Before starting prayer, you need to retire, light a lamp and stand in front of the icons. You can recite the text of prayers, either alone or with the whole family. Such family reading is a type of public prayer, but in no way replaces individual prayer.

To begin, sign yourself with the sign of the cross and make several bows from the waist or to the ground. After this, try to tune in to internal communication with God. In silence, an awareness of the importance of the ritual being performed should come to you.

Having made all the preparations, you can stand in front of the icon and begin reading prayers. At the same time, it is important to clearly pronounce each word, delving into its essence not only with the mind, but also with the heart. An important principle of any prayer, including prayers for children, is the ability to understand and feel the sacred text. Only such an attitude towards the spoken words guarantees a positive result. For example, in asking for cleansing from defilement, one should feel this defilement in oneself and truly desire deliverance from it. And when praying for love, try to find it in yourself and understand what exactly you expect from your request.

You also need to be very focused while praying. It is believed that anyone who reads the text absent-mindedly and inattentively will not be heard by the Lord. The human mind is always busy, so you need to be prepared for distractions. At such moments, try to focus even more on the process and bring your thoughts into a calm state.

You don't need to be looking at your watch all the time, so get into a position that you can stand in for a long time. If it is difficult for you to evoke in yourself the sensations and feelings that are mentioned in the text of the prayer, then try to read the prayers throughout the day to penetrate their meaning. It is not recommended to read a lot of general prayers in a row. It is better to interrupt them with a personal appeal to God.

Priests recommend not only praying (reading a text established in a certain order), but also talking to God in your own words. This way you can tell the Lord about your aspirations, troubles and joys. Communication with God must be carried out constantly in order to maintain your connection at a sufficient level. The stronger it is, the better the result of your prayers will be.

To the question “Is it possible to pray to God in your own words?” many Holy Fathers answer in the affirmative. Indeed, today not only those texts that exist in the Holy Scriptures are widespread, but also those that were pronounced by some Holy Fathers. Over time, they became a familiar prayer for many.

It is important to remember that prayer is a work in which four main components must necessarily participate: feelings, will, mind and body.

In order for the words spoken by a person to bring him what he wants in the future, purity of heart must be complemented by the depth of personal faith and the experience of his entire spiritual life. Under such conditions, the power of prayer will increase many times over.

Maternal prayer is one of the most powerful

There are several parables about how powerful maternal prayers can be. In this case, it is important to believe in what you are doing and ask God for help in protecting your children from possible misfortunes.

The more your children need help (they are sick, they have turned away from the right path, they are cursed), the more diligently you need to pray. This is explained as follows:

God cares about his children and even with all our evil or simply bad deeds, he does not turn away from us. Likewise, we must constantly think and pray about our children, forgiving them of their misdeeds.

Directed along an unrighteous path, the child, after he grows up, lives his life, meets God and answers to the Almighty on his own. But for the fact that the mother curses the child, even if his behavior is unacceptable, the mother must answer. After all, raising a child is a big responsibility, and when you are going to introduce him into this world, you must be ready to take it upon yourself. And if something doesn’t work out in your children’s lives, then it’s your fault. You need to start praying more diligently for your child and yourself.

Who should pray for children?

In order for prayer to have the greatest power, it is necessary to turn to a specific icon. There are some recommendations about who and when it is better to pray to (for example, the Kazan Mother of God is turned to when a person needs intercession in difficult times).

Prayers before the images of Jesus Christ and the Mother of God are considered the most powerful. Moreover, you can turn to any icon in prose or verse, where Our Lord or the Queen of Heaven is depicted. The Mother of God is considered the patroness of women and motherhood, so most people turn to her with prayers for children. Also, the “Leaping of the Baby” icon, which is dedicated to motherhood in general, can give special power to mother’s prayers.

Mothers of soldiers who serve in hot spots often turn to the Kazan Icon. Great commanders always prayed to her when going to war or before starting a battle. In addition to victory, the Kazan Mother of God was asked to reduce losses and preserve the lives of soldiers.

Many mothers, trying to take care of their children and protect them from troubles and misfortunes, turn to the icon of the “Sign with the Mother of God,” which is one of the most revered in our country.

But the icon “Helper of Sinners” is not as popular as the icon of Our Lady of Kazan, but it can become the last hope for those who have committed a great sin or need quick absolution (for example, before a complex operation).

The rite of baptism - what is it for?

Often, in order for a child to grow up healthy and have protection from the insidious plans of evil forces, parents baptize him. Of course, when baptized, the baby does not receive one hundred percent protection, but this helps improve his health and ability to withstand diseases and negative influences from the outside.

This rite is one of the seven sacraments that are accepted in the Orthodox Church. Its essence lies in the fact that at baptism a person, as it were, “dies” to a sinful life and is born again to lead a righteous life and receive Salvation. After completing this ritual, a person will be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

This action is called a sacrament because the influence of God’s power on a little person is carried out in an invisible, mysterious way. When baptized, it is mandatory to give the name of a saint who will protect him throughout life and become his guardian angel.
