The sacred text of the mantra has a certain number of words that should be pronounced without change and rearrangement:

"Aum Triyambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Mukshia Mamritat."

Free translation goes like this:

“We worship the Three-eyed Shiva, who brings good, destroys the bonds of death and birth. May he free us from death for the sake of immortality.”

Listen to a very powerful death overcoming mantra (108 times):

Sacred words should be sung in the following cases:

  • severe illness;
  • difficult life circumstances;
  • in the face of danger;
  • other situations requiring the intervention of higher powers.

The mantra literally works wonders - it stops the development of serious ailments, rejuvenates an aging body, relieves despondency and depression. The mantra helps in the most hopeless cases, when all tried means have been in vain.

Each person receives assistance according to their needs. The sacred formula itself finds a way to correct the current situation in the life of a particular person.

But the main effect of the mantra is a huge inner change in a person. Sacred words, repeated repeatedly in order to receive healing or deliverance from physical problems, actively affect the soul. A person receives spiritual development: spiritual eyes literally open.

This does not mean that the chanting practitioner will begin to see the spirits around him. This means that a person realizes his true destiny in this life - the elevation of the spiritual principle. Having come into contact with death, a person begins to realize the meaning of Eternity. What he had not thought about before will come to the fore in his thoughts and reflections.

How to say the mantra

An ignorant person, faced with spiritual sacred texts in an incomprehensible language, does not know how to pronounce these words. Mantras can be recited at three levels:

  1. physical;
  2. energy;
  3. mental.

On the physical level, the mantra is pronounced in a loud voice, while the body should vibrate. Internal vibrations are created that activate every cell of the body. The vibration of sacred words destroys energy blocks in the body, neutralizing the memory of cells. Cells in whose memory the disease is recorded become clean again.

Most of the negative programs that cause internal diseases are recorded in the memory of cells from childhood. These programs affect the subconscious of a person, causing mental complexes and blocks. Over time, the program of destruction takes the form of a disease. Mahamrityunjaya mantra destroys these pathological structures and literally frees the body from blocks - therefore, healing occurs.

The energy level of uttering a mantra is the repetition of sacred words in a whisper. This practice is called japa. Words spoken in a whisper have an effect on the energy structure of a person, changing the energy background. The energy structure of a person is organized by chakras - 7 centers. Whispered words open the chakra centers, freeing them from blockages. As a result, the energy can freely function along the chakra column, creating a reserve of energy resource within the body.

Also, the chakra column is connected with the external energy field around the person. Blocking the energies of the chakra column does not allow for a full-fledged energy exchange with cosmic energies, the human energy system is isolated from the external environment. This is where many internal diseases originate. When recreating a full-fledged energy exchange with the external environment, the body receives healing and restoration of all functions.

The mental level of reciting Mahamrityunjaya acts on the subconscious of a person, in which fixed mental blocks are stored. Scientists have long proven that diseases have their roots in the human psyche. The Mahamrityunjaya mantra eliminates mental blocks, thereby freeing the body from the cause of diseases. The person is exempt from:

  • obsessive stereotypes;
  • destructive programs of the subconscious;
  • psychological blocks and clamps.

Getting rid of the causes of diseases, the body activates defenses for self-healing and renewal. Yoga practitioners are advised to start chanting the Mahamrityunjaya mantra by loudly reciting the sacred words, and then move on to whispering and singing in the mind.

In India, the Mahamrityunjaya mantra is considered one of the most powerful and fundamental in importance. It is pronounced at the birth of a person and is repeated annually on this day. It is believed that the pronunciation of this sacred formula will give a person eternal life - Hindus believe in the immortality of the soul.

  • longevity;
  • strengthening immunity;
  • physical and spiritual prosperity;
  • protection from negative energies.

For the prevention of diseases, the mantra must be practiced daily for 2 or 3 months. It is necessary to read or listen to the mantra conquering death 108 times in one "session". If you are haunted by troubles, you can get rid of them by daily recitation of the mantra until a favorable resolution of the situation. Troubles will not bring destruction to life: it will be possible to get off with a slight fright.

However, one should not forget that higher powers do not help a person who has impure intentions. You must cleanse your soul from any evil, forgive insults, correct your attitude towards the world and people. Only in this case, the Mahamrityunjaya mantra will bring the desired effect.

This is the strongest, if not the most powerful mantra in the field of healing and health.

I have had my own little experience with the energy of this mantra, but first, let's look at the classic history of its origin.

The sage (Rishi) Mrikandu and his wife led a pious life, performing divine meditations and rituals with humility and devotion.

They achieved great spiritual knowledge, strength and wisdom, however, for all this, they did not have children. In one of the meditations, they focused their intention to fulfill their dream

They experienced a vision in which Lord Shiva himself appeared to them. Shiva heeded their service, agreed to give them the opportunity to give birth to a child. But he offered them a choice: they would have a divinely gifted child, a son who would live only 16 years, or they would have a very ordinary, not so gifted child, but who would live a hundred years.

Of course, Shiva knew in advance what choice they would make, so it was no surprise to him when they chose the divine child.

Their cherished desire, the fulfillment of which they had been waiting for so many years, came true. They had a divinely gifted son and they named him Markandeya.

This spiritually advanced couple had many things to pass on to their son, including the Gayatri Mantra and Shiva Puja, which he practiced every day with great devotion.

His parents, during the fifteen years of his life, gave him powerful tools for comprehending spiritual knowledge.

They never told him that the line of his life was so short.

On the day of his sixteenth birthday, Markandeya completed his Gayatri Mantra meditation and began performing the puja as usual. In the middle of the ceremony, he suddenly felt his energy leaving his body and he instantly realized that he was dying.

Struck by fear and grief, he thought about Shiva, thought about his parents, he wrapped his arms around Shiva-linga - a symbol of Shiva's energy.

And he said this mantra:

Om Trayumbakam Yajamahe

Sughadhim Pushti Vardanam

Uvārukam-iva Bandahanan

Mrityor Muksheeya Mamaritat

Since the translation of mantras from Sanskrit is insanely complex and not unambiguous (even for super professionals), we will confine ourselves to an approximate interpretation that reflects the essence of the energy process

“Cover me, O three-eyed Lord Shiva! Bless me for health and immortality and save me from the clutches of death!”

Shiva appeared to the boy and said the following: “Verily, it follows from your karma that you must die at sixteen years of age. However, you have not yet reached the full age of sixteen. You have a few more minutes. Therefore, I stop your aging process at this very moment. You will never grow old again. So death can never claim you again."
Saying this, Shiva disappeared.

Even to this day, in the classical teachings of Hinduism, Markandeya is listed as one of the immortal masters who abide forever on the heights of the Himalayas.

A powerful spiritual discipline has sprung up around this story in India to speed healing. However, pujaris perform pujas and fire ceremonies for others using this mantra.

While the original form of practice with this mantra was purely individual. That is, the adept conducted this practice exclusively for himself. Without intermediaries.

The name "Maha-Mrityunjaya Mantra" roughly means "the great mantra that frees from death and disease", or "the mantra that conquers death."

It is believed to be effective in alleviating a very wide range of ailments, including those of the immune system.

A story told by Thomas Ashley-Farrand in his book Healing Mantras.

“Connie already knew she was ill when she came in for her second appointment with the doctor. She was diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia. For three weeks she drank antibiotics and it gave absolutely nothing. Her illness continued to develop.
A rare virus invaded her and caused the destruction of the cartilage system in her body.

The doctor with a mournful face said that she had about six months to live.

Connie plunged into the world of alternative therapy and healing. She was determined to defeat the virus. Over the course of several months, she tried many different alternative treatments with varying degrees of success.

And then she discovered and decided to try something very unusual: mantra therapy.

And as you might guess, she practiced the Markandeya mantra or the Maha-Mrtiyunjaya mantra.

Connie repeated this mantra 108 times in the morning and 108 times in the evening for three months. She got much better. A year later, she was still practicing the mantra every day. Already in the fourth month of practice, she began to ride a horse.

Currently, Connie leads an active lifestyle. She recently married and her virus completely disappeared more than a year after she was given six months to live.

Luckily, I never had such a serious illness in my life. However, I had one interesting experience with the Death Conquering Mantra quite a few years ago.

During one of our trips in the mountains, I was struck by the flu, the virus of which I caught, apparently somewhere earlier.

High temperature, breaking in the whole body, dizziness, far from hospitals. And you need to go. If you stay for an extra few days, you will run out of food and fuel, and there is nowhere to take them in the highlands.

It was decided to go, despite the state. As soon as we entered the path, something seemed to cover me, and it was as if someone's voice in my head said that I needed to repeat this mantra. I didn't really believe it would help, but I kept repeating the mantra to myself as we walked.

A few hours later, I broke out in an intense sweat that lasted about 20 minutes. After that, all flu symptoms disappeared. I felt great.

The whole world around us is filled with mystery. You should never assume that you have known something and now you are “knowing”. And the point here is not in moral, ethical principles or in what concepts of what is good and bad.

If we, despite all our awareness and knowledge, leave a question mark on the world around us, we simply leave the door open. So we are ready to go deeper, higher and further - there is no limit.

Try, feel, practice, experience the mantras. Be responsible, but try!

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra - Mantra, Conquering Death, healing wounds and bestowing youth

This mantra has been around for thousands of years. It has come down to us from the depths of human civilization, when people could still meet the gods on Earth...

And this mantra, like a thread, connects us with that time...

Sometimes this mantra is called Samjivani mantra(Resurrection mantra). First encountered in Rig Veda(7.59.12) and is repeated in the Taittiriya Samhita of the Krishna Yajur Veda (1.8.6) in the Rudra Sukta.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

OM - TRIYAMBAKAM - YAJAMAH -
SUGANDHIM - PUSHTI - VARDHANAM -
URVARUKAMIVA - BANDHANAN -
MRITIYOR - MUKHIYA - MAMRITAT

"Om! I worship the Three-eyed (Shiva), Fragrant, Giving Prosperity!
May He free me from death for the sake of immortality,
like a cucumber (shooting type of cucumber - urvaruka) is freed from attachment to the stem"

Mrityunjaya“Conquering death is one of the most ancient and powerful mantras of the Vedic era, which have come down to us through the millennia…

In Indian legends and myths, Mrityunjaya is associated with the name of Markandeya - his teaching is embedded in the Markandeya Purana. Legend has it that Markandeya was destined to die when he reached the age of 16, but with his sincere appeal to Shiva, with the help of this mantra, he defeated Yama, the God of death. However, this story began even before his birth ...

History of the mantra

Living in the forest, Saint Mrikandu and his wife Marudvati had no children, they performed a long penance in the hope of gaining virtue and giving birth to a child. They were rewarded with the sight of Lord Shiva - Lord Shiva, having listened to their request, offered them a choice: to become the parents of a child who will become outstanding - a spiritual light - but his life will end at 16 years old, or a child with a long life, but stupid and selfish. They chose a child with spiritual merit, and in time Marudwati gave birth to a boy, who was named Markandeya. Parents decided not to tell him about the period of his life, but, approaching the age of 16, parental sadness grew more and more. When the boy asked to explain the reason for their sadness, they could not stand it and told about what Lord Shiva had told them. Having already achieved perfection in yoga, Markandeya decided to devote himself to his practice. On the day of his sixteenth birthday, Markandeya went to the temple to bow to the symbol of divine consciousness - the Shiva lingam.

How they chased away death

When the messengers of Lord Yama, the god of death, came to take him away, they found him so engrossed in prayer that they did not dare to complete their mission. Returning to Yama, they told about their dilemma. Then Yama himself went to the temple to complete what he started, he urged Markandeya to follow the natural law of life and death and go willingly, but Markandeya, seeking protection, embraced the Shiva lingam with his hands. Yama threw his noose to catch Markandeya, but the noose wrapped around the lingam, and immediately Shiva, who lives there, split the lingam in two and appeared furious. Yama threw his noose too far, he did not have the authority to catch Shiva himself. Shiva killed Yama with a kick. The rest of the gods looked on in dismay. Fearing that Yama's death would disrupt the order of the universe, the gods begged Shiva to bring Yama back to life, which Shiva eventually did. But he clarified that Markandeya's devotion became his protection, and therefore he blesses him for eternal youth - Markandeya will forever remain a sixteen-year-old saint ...

The soul of Markandeya is still present somewhere in the universe... And the Mantra has become a guide that opens the door to a great spiritual heritage for seekers.

Shiva - means "benevolent", "merciful"

In the legend, the central place is given to Shiva. Shiva has a dual nature. He guards the universal order with ruthless determination, destroys attachments and frees his devotees from ignorance. He is the inner controller and remover, bringing irresistible passion and bringing life itself to its natural end. This aspect of Shiva is reflected in his ancient name Rudra - "one who screams." Another, more familiar, name - Shiva - means "benevolent", "merciful", "kind". It expresses the compassionate nature of Shiva. He is the abode of kindness, he satisfies prayers, with tenderness and care he leads those who strive for self-realization and frees them from suffering. Shiva embodies pure consciousness. He manifests the universe and sustains it so that every particle merges with being. He remains indifferent to the charm of the world and its temptations, he silently holds all movements along with immobility. Shiva is the Lord of Yogis. He has many names. He appeared to Markandeya as Mrityunjaya, the Conqueror of Death, for on the day of his sixteenth birthday, Markandeya worshiped precisely this aspect of Shiva.

Mantra action

I myself felt the effect of this mantra on myself when it helped me cope with the disease. And with others there were magical (you can’t call it otherwise) cases of recovery. I remember many years ago doing yoga on nearby mats with a guy who had a compound fracture in his arm. As I found out later, it was Max Dedik, the world champion in kyokushinkai K5 (karate). And at one of the competitions, he received a complex fracture of the arm, which did not heal for a long time. He even did chaturanga on one arm, which was insanely hard.

Seeing this, our yoga teacher, Dima Peretrukhin, gave him the Mrityunjay mantra to sing all his free time. It's hard to believe, but after a week the hand grew together.

The insane pace of today's life exhausts a person very much. Many are so eager to obtain material wealth that they are ready to sacrifice their health, both physical and mental, for this. Such behavior has a bad effect on life and inevitably brings closer and even hastens the moment of death. And each of us is afraid of her. However, you should not let this feeling fill your whole life and be the main factor in making decisions.

Hinduism has long freed its followers from this pernicious feeling and instilled in everyone the belief that death is a stage in the natural cycle and there is nothing terrible about it. Therefore, if the fear of a serious illness or death dominates your life, and you want to get rid of them, then there is a way out. Take advantage of the practice of yogis, Buddhists, Hare Krishnas and other areas of Eastern religions.

They will prompt the path, at the end of which peace, harmony and absence of fears will await you. You will be able to know yourself, the world around you and even the Universe. To get started, use the available practice of mantra meditation (for example, the mahamrityunjaya mantra is good for health).

Thanks to these truly magical sounds, you can change your life. Do you want to get relief from illness, restore your health, and also conquer the fear of death? Then read on for how to do it.

You can control your health

When is a person considered healthy? When is he sick? Health is defined as a state of general well-being and is not necessarily associated with the absence of disease.

The state of harmony in which a person is located should concern three main levels:

  • physical;
  • Psychological;
  • energy.

When each of the components is holistic and harmonious, and these levels are also not in conflict with each other, then we can talk about human health.

According to Hinduism, everything in our body is interconnected. Violation in one of the levels will inevitably lead to failures in all others. Therefore, it is often said in this religion that physical illnesses must be separated from the mental state so as not to spread it to other levels. At the same time, the impact on the energy and mental levels can lead to an improvement in the physical condition and subsequent healing.

A healthy person can fully feel the whole gamut of positive emotions and drive away negative thoughts from himself. When our body works like a clock, without getting lost in even minor ailments, we stop worrying and make plans for the future. A healthy person does not think about death, fear or other unpleasant sensations. He tries to focus on positive and useful things.

And if it is important for you to feel like a healthy person, then the mahamrityunjaya mantra or another strong mantra aimed at cleansing and healing will help you. The desire to develop spiritually is natural, and therefore, if you feel an inner need for this, do not hesitate to implement it.

Moreover, in Hindu practices, you do not have to accept, for example, Buddhism, but it is enough to use the tools available to you. And even then, they will give an amazing effect, including the release of diseases, healing and prolongation of life.

Death is not the end

The attitude towards death in India is different from that in Western countries. It is customary for us to believe that death is the loss of everything that we have achieved throughout our lives: money and property, recognition, love from others, close relationships.

With the transition beyond the boundary, all this remains in the material world, in which we no longer exist. In Hinduism, death is accepted as a natural process, a stage of life. There is no sorrow or sadness in it, but only joy. After all, the departed person left his physical body in order to follow the path of rebirth. According to the teachings of Hinduism, the human soul is eternal and therefore cannot simply disappear.

Man is made up of a gross body and a subtle body. Both of them are only shells within which the soul grows and develops. After the gross body is worn out, the soul leaves it, being in the subtle body. This shell contains all the thoughts and strongest desires of the deceased. The soul stays in this body for a short time in the "afterlife", then it will be further born in one of the 8,400,000 life forms that live on earth. What a person is born to be depends on how he spent his previous life.

A virtuous lifestyle and following the spiritual path will give the soul the opportunity to be reborn at a higher level (for example, in a higher caste). A person who has committed many sins runs the risk of appearing again in the material world in the body, for example, of a poisonous snake.

Mantras can be compared to our spells and prayers. But their main difference is the sounds and sound of words. Hindus say that these rites are a combination of words in a certain sequence and sounds that must be pronounced with a special intonation. Every word, every syllable, and even every letter and sound has a deep semantic load, a certain interpretation.

Maha mantra is one of the most powerful conspiracies, magic spells. This is the experience of the sages who used the word as an instrument of influence. Hindu rituals have been created over the centuries: words, their sequence, the number of repetitions, a certain pronunciation of all sounds - everything has been tested by many people and has been used since time immemorial. The mantra of immortality, or as it is called otherwise: the conquering death is one of the most powerful that have come down to our times.

Among the varieties of the rite of reading the mantra of immortality, there are two main classes:

  1. For the implementation of the first type, it is necessary that the ritual comes from a person who has already known the full power of healing words and sounds.
  2. The second class includes those rituals that give effect regardless of the type of their transmission.

The mantra that conquers death is special - it can be both read and listened to. The result of healing words depends on repeated listening or repeated reading. This is how the power, energy of words and sounds is revealed. The standard number of repetitions is determined by the number three-nine-twenty-seven. The largest number of repetitions is 108. The mantra that conquers death, or mahamrityunjaya, known for its power, is read exactly 108 times.

In this ritual, each individual sound matters, so before reading, you must first read the text. If a person prefers to listen, this does not mean that he is inactive. You need to listen to the text of the maha mantra very carefully, paying attention to every word, mentally pronouncing it. But the best option is to sing along and listen. It turns out a kind of duet of the soloist, performing healing words, and the listener himself.

mahamrityunjaya mantra

Mrityunjaya mantra is powerful, giving eternal life, giving immortality. Literally, it translates as "conquer death." This mantra conquering death is one of the most ancient. It has been known since the Vedic era and was used even then.

Myths and legend tell how the life test of mahamrityunjaya was created. The maha mantra is associated with the name of the boy Markandeya.

The young man was supposed to die at the age of 16. But he was saved by the god Shiva, who gave him life. Markandeya's parents, desiring a child, asked the god Shiva for a child. Having fulfilled the request of the parents, he warned them that the child would be wise and kind, but would live only up to 16 years. The whole life of the boy Markandeya was under the wing of his parents. But having learned the whole truth about his origin, the boy decided to devote himself to the practice and service to the god Shiva. For which he was rewarded: he did not die, but became a saint, who will always be 16 years old.

The prayer recited by the youth of Markandeya on the day of his supposed death was the Maha mantra. It was the mantra that conquered death that helped to defeat the god of death, Yamaraj. When a person reads or listens to the text of the mahamrityunjaya, he asks for the help of the sixteen-year-old holy youth Markandeya, whose soul is now in the universe.

Mahamrityunjaya Reading Rules

What to choose: reading or listening to the text of the Maha mantra, everyone decides for himself. But the best effect is achieved if these two actions are combined.

If mahamrityunjaya is recited on your birthday, then the effect of it will be colossal. The number of repetitions is 108 times. If the number 108 is confusing, you can divide it into several repetitions of 27 times, as a result, for the whole day you get 108.

Before learning to read the text of mahamrityunjaya on your own, you need to listen to it several times. In pronunciation, it is not difficult, when reading it, a certain intonation is important, a special pronunciation of each word, each syllable, each letter, as well as the vibration of the voice and the vibration of the whole body. Only when a complete picture has formed in the head of how to work with text and sound correctly, you can start reading.

Constant practice will make it possible to read and listen to the text of mahamrityunjaya in such a way that the mind will be completely absorbed in meditation. Reason will become clearer, emotions will come in order. There will be no chaos in the soul, head, thoughts, and everything in life will become clearer and more understandable. Mahamrityunjaya of immortality will give a clear, calm and conscious life.

In addition, the rite gives health. It is important during meditation to keep in mind the image of the person to whom health should be desired, for whom mahamrityunjaya is read. To enhance the effect, you need to read it on the waning moon. Repetition of the mantra 108 times is a prerequisite.

How to listen to the mahamrityunjaya mantra

As mentioned above, listening to how the mantra of conquering death sounds is also meditation. During the first listening, you need to catch each syllable and the nature of the pronunciation of sounds. If at first it doesn’t work out very well, then you need to listen until you succeed. Mentally during this period, you must try to pronounce the text of mahamrityunjaya. The number of plays per day should also be 108 times.

After considerable work has been done to capture all sound vibrations and study the text of the mantra that conquers death, you can begin to work on the pronunciation of the text. If there is a strong desire to listen, and a person feels comfortable with the perception of sounds, one can meditate silently.
