Create objects from glass, change shape glass products allow various ways decoration. With their help, you can engrave, create unique patterns, and equip the product with additional elements to enhance its artistic value.

Modern methods decorations offered on this site also improve physical characteristics glass objects, making them more durable and stable.

Glass can be modified and decorated in its cold or hot state. Accordingly, modern types of decoration are divided into two main groups - cold and hot methods.

Cold ways of decorating

Decorating glass products using the cold method includes: the following types:

  1. Matte decoration of the entire surface of the product or its individual sections. It is produced by etching or matting glass by applying a special paste, which gives the glass a characteristic roughness and makes it opaque. The use of stencils allows you to create matte designs and patterns on glass.
  2. Sandblasting or abrasive blasting method. Drawings and patterns on glass are created using stencils and surface treatment sandblaster. This method allows you to decorate large surfaces and create matting of varying depths and densities in one design.
  3. Diamond cutting method. Allows you to create complex drawings and patterns with many branches, angles and details using diamond abrasive tools.
  4. Engraving. The top layer of certain areas of glass is removed with a metal cutter, and then deep slits and sections are made. This type of decoration requires special care and attention when following the lines and small parts pattern.
  5. Way laser engraving. Glass decoration is done with rays laser equipment. Allows you to create three-dimensional 3D models.
  6. Diffusion or color etching method. Chemical treatment of the surface of a product, in which silver and copper ions change the composition and structure of the glass.
  7. Tiffany stained glass technology. One of the most complicated ways decoration. Known since ancient times manual technology creating stained glass windows with paintings, drawings and ornaments from glass elements various colors and shapes using a special tape. Ancient temples, castles, and palaces were decorated with such stained glass windows.
  8. Glass printing technique. Drawings on glass are created with special paints, which are then baked with radiation ultraviolet lamp and are fixed varnish coating. This method increases the strength of the product.

Hot processing methods

Hot decoration - glass processing under high pressure and temperature. There are several main ways of this process:

  1. Creation and application of glass threads to a product, which requires at least two craftsmen. One of them must rotate the heated product, while the other must apply a thread of molten glass to its surface.
  2. A fusing method in which stained glass elements of various colors and shapes are glued onto the glass surface, and then the product is baked in an oven.
  3. Decor made of colored glass. The product is covered with multi-colored glass chips and then processed in an oven. Melted crumbs create unique patterns and designs.
  4. A method of glass corrugation, in which two interconnected corrugated and smooth blanks are subject to heat treatment. As a result, the product is corrugated on one side and smooth surface.
  5. Venetian thread method. First, colored glass threads are applied parallel to each other to the surface of the workpiece. Then the workpiece is blown so that these threads “grow” into the surface of the glass.

Important! Decorating glass products using the hot method requires special equipment for heat treatment, as well as special training, experience and skills for such work.

DURING THE CLASSES.

Stage I. Organizing time .

Checking students' readiness for the lesson, communicating the topic of the lesson.

Slide 1. Hello, sit down. The topic of our lesson is “Decoupage style”. Today in the lesson we will repeat what “decoupage” is, then we will get acquainted with the history of the emergence of the “decoupage” technique, styles and types of decoupage, and then we will do creative practical work.

Stage II. Repetition of what was learned in the previous lesson.

So, what is decoupage?

Slide 2.Decoupage is a type of applied creativity, which is a technique for decorating various surfaces by applying printed pictures, followed by varnishing the resulting image to protect it from external influences.

What does the word "decoupage" mean?

Slide 3. The word decoupage comes from the French decouper - to cut.

Where is decoupage used?

Slide 4With decoupage we can decorate almost anything that our imagination tells us. The main thing is that all things will turn out beautiful and useful in the household!

Stage III. Studying new material.

You have been given a homework assignment: to get acquainted with the history of the “decoupage” technique. The floor is given to Anastasia Revenko.

Slide 5,6. History of the decoupage technique.

The “decoupage” decoration technique was invented by Chinese peasants in the 12th century; it was they who made thin colorful paper and began to decorate with it. various items. To Europe this interesting method decoration came in the 17th-18th centuries along with beautiful lacquer Chinese furniture, when the fashion for the “East” appeared there. Sellers could not meet the huge demand, and the production of counterfeits began. And the Decoupage technique spread throughout Europe. The developed current was in no way inferior to Chinese technology. Even famous artists such as Matisse and Picasso used decoupage in their works.

Products made using the Decoupage technique and coated with varnish look like painting. Now, having become a popular hobby, decoupage has received a second life. For appliqués, motifs cut from three-layer paper napkins are used, because... napkin designs best imitate painting. Decorated surfaces can be very diverse: glass, ceramic, metal, wood, cardboard or plastic.

Now we will get acquainted with the types of decoupage. The message was prepared by Dasha Morozova.

Slide 7. There are five main types of decoupage:

straight,back,volume,smoky (artistic), decopatch.

Slide 8. With direct decoupage, the picture is pasted onto outside subject. In this case, the surface can be pre-painted or coated with craquelure varnish.

Slide 9-10. Reverse decoupage is used to decorate transparent glass objects. The technology is the same, but in reverse order. The picture is glued to the back of the product with the front side facing the glass, and the craquelure, background and finishing coating are already made in bulk.

Slide 11. Volumetric decoupage is when some elements of the image are raised, made more voluminous with the help of modeling mass and other materials, or by multi-layer gluing of the same part of the picture onto each other.

Slide 12. Smoky decoupage completely emits artistic painting. Thanks to paints and various artistic techniques, the boundary between the picture and the surface around the drawing is erased and a transparent haze is obtained.

Slide 13. Decopatch – gluing the surface to be decorated with pieces of paper to create a continuous coating. This is a combination of decoupage and patchwork. At the same time, not just individual motifs are used for decoration, but many fragments of paper. They completely fill the surface of the object, creating a patchwork quilt effect.

Elizaveta Avrusevich will introduce you to the main styles in decoupage

Slide 14. Basic styles in decoupage.

Provence, shabby chic, simple city, Victorianism.

Slide 15. Provence. This style got its name from the province in the south of France. Designers define it as noble and discreet antiquity, harmoniously combined with French elegance. It is characterized by the use of whitened surfaces and pastel shades. Most items are characterized by unevenness and abrasions. In the Provence style, the use of aging techniques is more relevant than ever. Typical subjects for decoration are lavender fields, sunflowers, grapes and winemaking, as well as small houses.

Slide 16. Shabby chic. Translated from English, shebi means “tattered, frayed or worn.” This direction arose in the last quarter of the last century. It is characterized by: delicate tones and slightly blurred designs, the use of large and small flower patterns, scenes with roses, angels, palaces and birds. Shabi-chic items help create a cozy atmosphere.

Slide 17. Simple City. Style " simple city"is emphatically democratic and literally imbued with fresh trends. When decorating objects in this style, ordinary clippings from magazines and newspapers and the deco patch technique with characteristic torn edges are often used.

Slide 18Victorian style originated in Great Britain during the reign of Queen Victoria. IN victorian style Classicism and luxury are harmoniously intertwined. It has the following features: the use of rich and saturated shades of gold, red and green; active use of checkered and striped patterns. Preference is given to subjects with roses, animals, oak leaves, still lifes, as well as hunting scenes. Furniture and boxes made of dark wood were complemented by gilded relief.

IV. Consolidation of the studied material.

The emergence of technological lesson cards (TCU) was a natural result of changes taking place in management educational process currently. For a teacher, TKU is a useful, convenient, effective lesson tool in accordance with the requirements of the second generation Federal State Educational Standard. The advantage of TCU is a visible, visual, clear description of not only the planned results of a lesson or activity (subject, meta-subject, personal), but also the set of conditions and resources that ensure their achievement. It should be noted that the structure and content of the TKU allows the teacher to introduce own changes and additions taking into account the specific conditions of educational practice in which training is carried out. Such additions can be, for example, in the form of tasks that provide increased interest in the topic being studied, the development of individual learning activities, variability in the types of control, self-control, self-esteem

Unlike the traditional lesson plan, which focuses mainly on the teacher’s activities, TKU is focused on the interaction between the teacher and the student at each stage of the lesson. That's why routing lesson includes detailed description content of activities of both the teacher and the student.

Unlike others methodological manuals, the technological map gives the teacher the opportunity at each step of teaching to confidently say whether he has achieved the result or not.

The purpose of the teacher’s activity: Introduce a new type of DPT, teach how to work with decoupage materials, and perform your own creative work, cultivate accuracy in work and interest in the subject.

Verbal-illustrated story

The word decoupage comes from the French

decouper - cut. The origins of decoupage go back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned as an art form at the end of the 15th century in Germany, where carved pictures began to be used to decorate furniture. The peak of interest in this technique came in the 17th century in Venice, when furniture decorated with inlays in Chinese or Japanese style. Venetian craftsmen skillfully cut out images, glued them to the surface of furniture and covered them with several layers of varnish for protection.

By using such appliqué, furniture makers imitated expensive oriental inlays, which was much cheaper, but was no less in demand. Subsequently, this art in Italy became known as Artepovera (“art of the poor”). Nowadays such furniture is extremely rare and very expensive, and many modern furniture designers imitate this style.

Guys, tell me, what is decoupage?

There are two types of decoupage - direct and reverse. Today we will perform reverse decoupage and for this we will need:

  1. Glass plate
  2. Set for decoupage
  3. Brush bristles No. 8-10
  4. Alcohol and cotton wool

Furniture decoration is a set of artistic techniques that can be used to enhance its expressive properties. The history of decoration has ancient origins what the surviving elements indicate antique furniture. Mass-produced furniture is currently characterized mainly by simple shapes decoration. However, it is worth noting that with the skillful hands of specialists and thanks to the availability of modern digital technology, and today unique samples are created - exclusive types decorative finishing furniture.

Furniture decorating methods

Decoration is applicable both on wooden furniture and on other materials from which furniture is made: plywood, wood board, metal, stone, concrete and composite material.

Artistic painting wooden products is an organic part of the culture of most peoples. In Russia, wood painting was “strong” and was distinguished by folk subjects. In Europe, painted furniture was carried out with the participation of famous artists of the 19th century. In the East and Africa, in South and North America, unique examples of folk art have been preserved to this day.

Artistic wood carving is the oldest art form of most peoples. Today, wood carving technology is used extremely limitedly in domestic furniture. Although in the last few years, attention to this fishery has begun to grow. Artistic carving is a rather complex craft; it belongs to the sphere of art and has its own traditions and laws.

The types of wood carving include classical carving, which is performed by craftsmen using special tools such as chisels, cutters and others. Also in last years high-speed bits are used for carving milling machines CNC and laser machines with CNC.

Hot wood stamping and manual decoration of furniture is a rather labor-intensive process. Therefore, a method that imitates threading is currently used. This is a mechanized technology for hot wood stamping (pressing or thermal molding). Because natural wood consists of natural polymers, then under the influence of temperature and moisture it becomes much more plastic. Hot wood stamping is used to produce decorative three-dimensional images on flat and shaped wooden surfaces furniture parts.

In addition to copying designs, hot stamping allows you to imitate wood species. Inexpensive coniferous or deciduous wood is embossed with a more expressive texture of ash or oak. Embossing on furniture can also imitate wicker materials: rattan, straw, reeds.

Balustrades inlay - mosaic decoration has long been found wide application at decoration tree. A variety of things can be inlaid: ceiling panels, doors, furniture, etc. Elements made of bone, metal, wood, semi-precious stones, ceramics, and amber are inserted onto the surface of such products.

Overlay decor is a type of openwork wood carving. This decoration method has been known since the 17th century. Individual elements - corners, layouts, rosettes and others - are designed on the furniture façade according to the law of symmetry, resulting in beautiful ornaments and integral compositions. Overlay decor is used not only in cabinet furniture, but also on chairs and armchairs. Overlay elements are made of plywood, fiberboard, wood, polystyrene, polyurethane foam, polyvinyl chloride and metal. They are nailed and pinned or glued. Overlay elements are made at furniture factories using carving, turning, pressing, stamping, casting, etc.

Furniture decoration - pyrography and pyrotyping

Pyrography is a burning method - the oldest form of decorative and applied art. Burning is carried out using a manual special tool in the form of a kind of hot pencil. Currently, low-power lasers with a CNC system are used for burning.

Pyrotyping is a variant of pyrography, but in this case the burning is done using a pre-prepared stamp. The essence of pyrotyping is to change color under the influence of temperature. The degree of color change of the wood surface depends on the heating temperature of the stamp, the applied force and the pressing time.

Furniture decoration - decoupage (applique)

Decoupage means “to cut” in French. With this decoration method, an appliqué is glued to the surface of the furniture. This style dates back to the end of the 15th century (Germany), where pictures were used to decorate furniture. Now this method decoration is widely used in various countries of the world.

Silk-screen printing is a method of applying printed images to the surface of furniture to create artistic effects; in this method, paint is pressed with a squeegee into the elements of a fine mesh stencil. Instead of silk mesh, shape-stable products made of polymer fibers and steel wire with a number of threads of 54-180 per centimeter of length and width of the mesh are now used. The mesh is evenly stretched onto a wooden or metal frame, which the master operates manually or using special machines.

Furniture decoration with direct digital printing is carried out using ink controlled by industrial digital printers. Digital printers have different principle actions, however industrial machines use inkjet print heads. They move over the surface of a furniture element and spray microscopic droplets of ink into strictly defined points. Industrial printers come in two types: flatbed and roll-fed, they use special UV-resistant furniture inks (ultraviolet curing). Direct digital printing can imitate many of the above furniture decorating methods. Currently, this technique is the most effective and in a simple way high-quality durable decoration.

LED furniture lighting has become especially popular recently. It is especially often used in the manufacture of decorative furniture in high-tech style and other futuristic styles. Using this method allows you to create a truly stunning aura effect, the color of which is either constant or can change its color.

Usage LED backlight in furniture finishing, does not require large energy consumption for operation and is completely fireproof.

Furniture decoration is rightfully considered one of the most difficult and interesting ways creating truly unique pieces of furniture - thanks to modern technologies, the process of decorating objects, representing a set of artistic techniques, allows you to enhance the expressive properties of products and, thereby, make your interior unique.

The history of decorating interior items is very rich. Even in ancient times, special decoration of furniture was distinctive feature expensive furniture factories- each had its own set of elements and marked all its products with it. Often, the decoration of interior items made of wood or any other material was made to order for a client who wanted to add something unique to their interior. Of course, only representatives of high society could afford such a service - after all, most of the work was done from wood. manual labor. Now, thanks to the emergence modern equipment, everyone can afford this service, and thanks to new methods of working with materials, you will get a huge variety of choices in how to decorate your interior items.

Not to mention some techniques that you can learn yourself and decorate wooden interior items on your own, which mainly require the work of professionals and the availability of special equipment. Here are some of the most famous and current methods, from which you may someday have to choose to decorate your interior items.

Decoupage

The decoupage technique is positioned as the simplest compared to others. It is precisely because of this that the method of decorating wooden interior items using the decoupage technique is the most interesting - you can learn it in short time. This method involves cutting out images and drawings and gluing them onto a surface. The origins of the decoupage technique go back to early Middle Ages, but the peak of decoupage was the eighteenth century in Venice, where one of the trends in interior design was wooden furniture, which was decorated with oriental style inlays.

Artistic painting

Artistic painting is a distinctive feature of the culture of most peoples - this phenomenon existed both in European traditions and in the East and Africa. Not to mention Russia, where icon painting had a special influence on this technique.

The method is to paint individual elements or the entire object. Themes can be the most unusual: from classic furniture designs to abstractions and religious subjects.

Hot wood stamping

In decorating interior items made of wood, the method of hot wood stamping has a special place - being not a very common technique, hot wood stamping has many interesting properties. For example, embossing allows you to imitate other materials, including wicker ones (rattan, reeds, straw); you can also combine several different breeds wood This method differs from, for example, artistic carving in that it is less labor intensive.
