Designing a one-room apartment is not an easy task for a designer. This is due to the fact that a single living space must perform several different functions at once - provide an opportunity for work or study, serve as a place for communication, relaxation and sleep at night, and in some cases, also be a children's room. In addition, the size of such apartments, as a rule, does not allow the designer to use standard solutions; it is not enough to simply fence off a separate corner for each zone; it is also necessary to preserve as much as possible the feeling of free space, which increases the comfort of living.

The use of light colors in the apartment design made it possible to create coziness in a small space and maintain a feeling of spaciousness. The living room has only 17 square meters. m. area, but all the necessary functional areas are located here, and each of them performs several functions at once. Thus, the relaxation area, or “sofa,” turns into a bedroom at night; a relaxation corner with an armchair and a bookcase can easily be converted into a study or playroom for a child.

The corner location of the kitchen made it possible to organize a dining area, and the floor-to-ceiling glass door leading to the loggia added light and air.

In this project, the load-bearing wall proved to be an obstacle to changing the layout, so the designers had to work within the given space. The living room was divided into two parts by an open shelving unit - this simple solution is very effective in many cases, allowing for visual delimitation of zones without cluttering the space and reducing the light flux.

The bed is located near the window, and there is also a kind of mini-office - a small desk-bureau with a work chair. The rack functions as a bedside table in the bedroom.

In the back of the room, behind a shelf that acts as a bookcase and a display case for souvenirs, there is a living room with a comfortable sofa and a large TV. A wall-sized wardrobe allows you to store a lot of things and does not clutter up the space; its mirrored doors visually double the room and enhance its illumination.

The refrigerator was moved from the kitchen to the hallway, which freed up space for the dining area. Wall cabinets on one of the walls were abandoned to make the kitchen seem more spacious.

A good project that shows how convenient it is to arrange an apartment for one or two people, taking into account all the requirements for a modern level of comfort, without resorting to changing the original planning solution.

The main room is the living room. From the furniture in the room: a comfortable corner sofa, a large-screen TV mounted on a hanging console - on the opposite wall. A spacious storage system is provided for clothes and other necessary items. There is also a coffee table, adding completeness to the interior. At night, the living room transforms into a bedroom - the unfolded sofa forms a comfortable place to sleep.

If necessary, the living room can easily be converted into a study: to do this, you need to open two doors of the storage system - behind them is hidden a tabletop, a small shelf for documents and books; the work chair extends from under the tabletop.

In order not to burden the space, which is already not too much, the kitchen abandoned the traditional top row of wall shelves, replacing them with open shelves.

At the same time, there are even more places where you can keep kitchen utensils and supplies - the entire wall opposite the work area is occupied by a large storage system with a niche in which a sofa is built. Next to it is a small dining group. A rationally organized space allowed not only to maintain free space, but also to reduce the cost of kitchen furniture.

The project of a one-room apartment has 37 sq. m. every square centimeter was used. The sofa, armchairs and coffee table, forming a relaxation corner, are raised onto the podium and thereby separated from the total volume. At night, a sleeping place is pulled out from under the podium: an orthopedic mattress ensures complete sleep.

The television panel opposite is built into a large storage system - its volume made it possible to correct the initially irregular, overly elongated shape of the room. Beneath it is a living flame, covered by the glass of a bio-fireplace. The box above the storage system hides a screen that can be lowered to watch movies.

The small kitchen accommodates three functional areas at once:

1. a storage system with a worktop and kitchen equipment is built along one of the walls, forming a kitchen;
2. near the window there is a dining area consisting of a round table and four designer chairs around it;
3. There is a lounge area on the windowsill where you can relax and drink coffee over a friendly conversation while enjoying the views from the window.

Even in a small one-room apartment, you can have a separate bedroom, and for this you do not need to move walls or build the space like a studio: the kitchen occupies a separate volume and is completely fenced off from the rest of the apartment.

The project provides for the location of the bedroom near the only window. There is a standard double bed, a narrow chest of drawers that serves as a dressing table, and one bedside table. The role of the second bedside table is performed by a low partition between the bedroom and the living room - its height allows you to maintain the feeling of a large space and provides daylight to the entire living area.

Maximum functionality and impeccable design are the main advantages of the project. The living room and bedroom were visually separated by wooden slats: starting from the bed, they reach the ceiling and can change orientation similar to blinds: in the daytime they “open” and let light into the living room, in the night they “close” and isolate the sleeping area.

Light in the living room is added by the lower lighting of the console chest of drawers, effectively highlighting the main decorative piece of furniture: a coffee table made from the cut of a huge trunk. On the chest of drawers there is a bio-fuel fireplace, and above it there is a TV panel. Opposite is a comfortable sofa.

The bedroom has a dual-purpose wardrobe; it stores not only clothes, but also books. Bed linen is stored in a drawer under the bed.

Due to the corner arrangement of the kitchen furniture and the island-oven, it was possible to organize a small dining area.

In the project of a one-room apartment, the living space is divided into two: private and public. This was possible thanks to the corner location of the apartment, which resulted in the presence of two windows in the room. The use of IKEA furniture in the design allowed us to reduce the project budget. Bright textiles were used as decorative accents.

A ceiling-to-floor storage system separated the bedroom and living room. On the living room side, the storage system has a niche for a TV, as well as shelves for storing things. Near the wall opposite there is a structure of drawers, in the center of which sofa cushions form a cozy place to relax.

On the bedroom side, it has an open niche that replaces the owners with a bedside table. Another cabinet is suspended from the wall - you can place a pouffe under it to save space.

The main color in the design of a small kitchen is white, which makes it visually more spacious. The dining table folds down to save space. Its natural wood countertop softens the strict style of decoration and makes the kitchen more comfortable.

The main condition set before the designers was to maintain the isolated position of the kitchen. Additionally, it was necessary to provide a fairly large number of storage spaces. The main idea of ​​the design of a one-room apartment is the separation of functional areas and their logical combination using contrasting colors of the spectrum: red, white and black.

Red in the design actively highlights the relaxation area in the living room and the office on the loggia, logically connecting them to each other. Having received at their disposal a standard “one-room apartment” of the 10/11/02 PIR-44 series with a ceiling height of 2.57, the designers decided to use the square meters provided to them to the maximum, while dispensing with the design of a one-room apartment without redevelopment.

The successful location of the doorways made it possible to allocate space in the room for a separate dressing room. The partition was lined with white decorative brick, as was part of the adjacent wall - the brick in the design highlighted a seating area with an armchair and a decorative fireplace.

The sofa, which serves as a sleeping place, was highlighted with patterned wallpaper.

A separate resting place was also created in the kitchen, replacing two chairs in the dining area with a small sofa.

The combination of white, gray and warm beige shades created a relaxing, calm atmosphere. The living room has two zones. Near the window there is a large bed, opposite which, above a tall narrow chest of drawers, there is a TV panel mounted on a bracket. It can be turned towards a small sitting area with a sofa and coffee table, accented by a plain beige floor carpet and located in the back of the room.

The upper part of the wall opposite the bed is decorated with a huge mirror attached to the wall on a special frame. This adds light and makes the room visually much more spacious.

The corner kitchen provides plenty of storage space. The combination of gray oak fronts of the lower row of cabinets, white gloss of the upper ones and the shiny surface of the glass apron adds a play of textures and shine.

The apartment is designed in a modern style - a lot of wood, natural materials, nothing superfluous - only what is necessary. To separate the sleeping area from the rest of the living space, glass was used - such a partition takes up practically no space, allows you to maintain illumination of the entire room and at the same time makes it possible to isolate the private part of the apartment from prying eyes - for this purpose a curtain is used, which can be closed if desired.

In the decoration of an isolated kitchen, white is used as the main color, with the additional color of natural light wood.

In such apartments, nothing interferes with the free flow of sunlight, which visually enlarges the apartment. Furniture plays the role of zoning elements. It's important to remember that in a small room, the same finish should be used in all functional areas.

New buildings

Apartments in new buildings are distinguished by inconvenient geometry: trapezoidal rooms, options with a round wall or with a bend are absolutely impractical for living. Modern apartment layouts allow several options for combining space to solve planning problems. The most popular solution among them is connecting the kitchen to the living room. Preference is also given to a bedroom-children's room or a living room-office.

Studios

A distinctive feature of the architecture of new buildings is the design of studio apartments. The studio is a free space with a kitchen included in the living area and a separate bathroom. When creating the design of a small apartment (for example, with an area of ​​17 sq. m), it is better to give preference to an open plan. The transition from the kitchen area to the living room should be made smooth. When planning a studio style, designers advise giving preference to built-in appliances in order to give the home neatness and relieve space.

Apartments with an area of ​​46 to 50 square meters often have a studio design.

To make the room comfortable, in such studios zoning is necessary. To highlight a sleeping or relaxation area, you can install a bed fenced off with a screen. When creating partitions, the use of structures made of plexiglass or plasterboard sheets has become widespread. In this case, preference should be given to glass surfaces that do not interfere with the spread of light.

Room size

Apartments in different parts of the country may be practically no different from each other, because standard houses, as a rule, always have a standard layout. According to building codes, the minimum height of finished residential premises is recommended from 2.5 to 2.7 m. The vestibule is a mandatory room with minimum design dimensions of 1.4 x 1.4 m. Next is the hallway, the comfortable area of ​​which is from 6-7 to 10 m.

The size of the living room depends on the number of residents. For example, for a family of 3-5 people, it is preferable to allocate 25 square meters. It is important to remember that living rooms smaller than 17 square meters are not designed.

The width of the kitchen should be 1.8 m, the recommended area of ​​this room is 12 square meters. m. A separate dining room can be at least 8 square meters. m., however, it can be combined with the kitchen, which will save space. A bedroom for two people should be at least 14 square meters, for one - 10 square meters. m. A toilet with a toilet and a washbasin should be located on 1.5 square meters. m., without washbasin – 1.2 sq. m. Zoning

The design, colors and textures of the coatings of each zone may vary, but the integrity of the image must be maintained in the interior. If zoning using load-bearing structures and partitions is impossible for some reason, this will help solve the problem well-chosen furniture.

Families with children often face the need to allocate play and learning space. For example, to divide a room into two parts, you can install a children's closet to store toys and clothes. This enclosing structure performs several functions simultaneously. If this option cannot be implemented, designers advise purchasing loft bed, under which you can place a student’s desk or sofa. This technique is suitable not only for a studio, but also for a small apartment.

Another important point – separation of the sleeping area in a one-room apartment. If dimensions allow, you can fence off the bed completely or partially using a plasterboard partition. There are several options for converting a 1-room apartment into a two-room apartment (for example, installing furniture, shelves or racks). Sliding doors are also used to separate the bedroom, but this method is not always comfortable enough. Designers advise giving preference to thread curtains, which create the appearance of a separate room without cluttering up the space.

If the ceiling height reaches 3 m, division of the room can be avoided by installing a bed or desk “on the second tier”. An unusual and practical solution would be to install a raised bed. There are many options for installing multi-level furniture today. Another difficulty when creating the design of a one-room apartment can be the organization of a work area. A convenient way is to expand the window sill and install a countertop.

If it is possible to make custom-made furniture, the tabletop should be placed above the lower parts, and shelving should be placed on top.

You can combine a working and sleeping place: install a podium. There is a working area on it, and under it there is a bed that moves out using wheels. This solution today is considered non-standard and quite creative. A more traditional version of the podium - sliding and rising tabletops. In a room with a niche, there is no need to install shelving: the shelves can be fitted into the wall opening.

The podium is well suited for the need to create two cozy full bedrooms in one room. This option is suitable for families with a teenager or two friends. In this case, one sleeping place is located on the podium, and a retractable wardrobe is installed under it. The podium visually separates the sleeping areas and improves the proportions of the room. But it can just as easily overload a room.

Current color solutions

A well-thought-out color scheme will visually expand the room. It is customary to give preference to light shades and warm colors; they are not in a hurry to use cold colors: being in such an apartment is not so comfortable and cozy. Don't go overboard with color brightness– this choice is not suitable for general use. Emphasis should be placed on highlighting a specific functional area.

Green, brown tones and different shades of blue are suitable for creating an atmosphere of relaxation in the design of a one-room apartment. These colors go well with white and pastel tones (an ideal combination for highlighting a sleeping area or relaxation space). Light colors have a positive effect on the psychological state: yellow, beige or peach. These colors should be given preference when decorating living rooms.

Red has a stimulating effect and can cause rapid fatigue. The pink tint can also provoke open aggression, but only among the stronger half of humanity. For the female half of the population, staying in an apartment with a pink design is pleasant and cozy. Neutral beige and cream shades will please everyone. Light walls and ceilings can significantly enlarge a room.

You can complement this interior with hidden lamps built into the ceiling. The color of the curtains should be chosen according to the color of the walls, so that the interior looks completely harmonious.

There is an opinion that black and white interiors are only suitable for office spaces, but this is far from true.

If you remember a few rules, any black and white room will emphasize the individuality of the owners and will look expensive and elegant. Equal balance should be avoided - one color should prevail over the other. The ornament can only be combined with monochrome surfaces. A combination of several different patterns is allowed if one of them dominates.

In the traditional method of setting light, the following areas of the room are distinguished:

• lower zone – dark side;
• average – in terms of illumination and functionality;
• the main or upper part is the most illuminated part of the room.

The above scheme is close to natural lighting and is the most physiological. There are several new products to visually increase space with the help of light. The room can be lengthened by highlighting the cold part of the spectrum of one of the walls. Its tint will help raise the ceiling, and the light built into them will help move the walls apart.

In addition to general lighting on the ceiling, it is a good idea to install lamps above the bed or in the work area. Local lighting is necessary to create comfort; it is used more often than overhead light. Glossy panels on the walls and ceiling will help expand the space of the room, but you should not overdo it with such coatings. Slide walls are an ergonomic and inexpensive option. Folding furniture provides storage space, which is why people prefer it. Bedding can be stored in a tray box. It is customary to get rid of excess cabinets and chests of drawers by installing a pantry or a wardrobe built into the wall.

When choosing kitchen furniture, you should remember its role in the family. If the room is not particularly popular, there is no need to purchase a large dining table. It will be more rational to buy a small folding structure.

It must be remembered that furniture plays an important role in zoning space. Therefore, installing a bar counter-partition will help separate the kitchen area from the living room or bedroom. Wardrobes with mirrored fronts will visually make the room wider. Free surfaces should be used to the maximum, but clutter should not be allowed.

How to visually expand space

Many people are faced with the problem of increasing the space of a room by dismantling walls or partitions. In such cases, it is better to use optical illusions to visually expand a small room. One of the most affordable options is to achieve such a visual effect using wallpaper. They should be selected with small patterns or vertical stripes.

A good solution would be combining walls with wallpaper of two tones: It is preferable to make the upper part of the walls light and the lower part dark. • Preference is given to correct geometry. The furniture design is strict and laconic with a clearly defined form. Furniture should be chosen in a single color and without unnecessary details.
• This direction uses three basic colors in the interior: two colors are the basis of the interior, and the third creates accents. The most popular basic colors are grey, black and white; accents are usually made with bright colors (red, yellow or blue).
• Materials should be chosen natural (polished stone or marble, wood or glass).

Scandinavian style

This style is based on creating coziness and harmony using natural light and pastel colors. White is often chosen to visually increase space and add sophistication to the room. Wooden surfaces complement the light interior, giving the Scandinavian style a natural balance. The tones and textures of finishing materials should have a delicate texture.
