But the BMW nomenclature is so strict that you have to accept the new “X-fifth” the way it was conceived and implemented. It's a bold move, and one that BMW took to keep up with the times and trends. Is it only good for buyers?

Design revolution

The new generation X5 is unrecognizable. Continuity is noticeable only in the profile. Even the famous nostrils a little more - and they will become just a lattice. The taillights are also shocking: with what models they just did not compare the X5! It seems that from a rear-side angle, the new “X-fifth” resembles all the crossovers of the world at once. And ovals and figures with smooth lines in appearance were replaced with irregular trapezoids and hexagons - look at the air ducts, optics, bumpers, exhaust nozzles. In appearance, there was a real revolution, as if a new Bangle had come to BMW. However, the way it is - the BMW design team was replaced a year and a half ago.

In addition to the standard bodywork, you can choose from two themed packages: xLine off-road or aggressive M Sport. Moreover, they include not only a special body kit and body and interior trim, but also functional additions. That's a differently tuned suspension, as well as a sports exhaust and brake system for the M Sport, and the obligatory air suspension plus underbody protection for the xLine. Also, each of the packages has its own wheel design: 19 inches off-road and from 20 to 22 (for the first time on the X5) - in sports. Another variant of giant 22-inch wheels is available from BMW Individual.

The X5 has become larger: +36 mm to the length and 42 to the wheelbase, 66 to the width and 18 to the height. Blue lenses in the headlights provide optional laser high beams. This hits 500 meters against 300 for a standard LED module. In the photo - execution xLine

The realm of solid and liquid crystals

Inside is even more interesting. Geometric figures are the same as outside. The eye darts between two sudden elements: the optional glass automatic selector and the digital instrument panel, which is basic for all versions. The faceted handle of an eight-speed automatic machine looks so cool that it is even perceived as kitsch - in the depths of the transparent thickness you expect to see not the letter X, but a Soviet rosette. The “glass package” for 55,300 rubles also includes the decoration of the multimedia system and sound knobs, as well as the “start” button.

The instrument panel was not criticized only by the lazy. The lack of clear information output zones greatly impairs readability. Here is the engine speed on the right, but the virtual scale is painted counterclockwise, not clockwise. Because of her, the face of the performer from the cover of the playing album peeks out, and it looks wild. And the navigation map dissolves into scales, and the numbers of the speedometer, gear and on-board computer hang there. Avant-garde, but difficult to perceive. At the same time, you can configure the output of information to your taste in a very limited range, and there are no “themes” for designing and displaying data at all. Competitors with similar devices (the same) have richer functionality. The situation is saved by a convenient projection display. Maybe it's time to completely abandon the dashboard?

In the climate unit, they were small - both with the keys and their mechanics (two-position rockers disguised as ordinary buttons), and with displays and pictograms

Accounting, cloud and updates over the air

The multimedia system has moved to a new platform called BMW OS 7.0. The interface is now a set of scrollable left-right screens (up to 10 pieces), each of which is filled with widgets (up to 4 per screen) - blocks with updated information on the fly. Weather, news, traffic, on-board computer readings - all this is briefly displayed on the corresponding plates, and clicking on them leads to more detailed data. But the optimized (very successfully) way of displaying information is a trifle in comparison with the functionality that the new OS provides.

Many vehicle settings are now tied to driver profiles and can be transferred from one BMW to another. X-Fifth is trying to compete with a smartphone: MS Office and Skype are preinstalled in multimedia, it is ready to interact with gadgets in order to receive information about meetings, contacts, trips from them and offer guidance to the goal depending on real-time traffic. The system learns where and when the owner drives and adapts navigation to his needs. The new X5 is data hungry to give even more data back. The only pity is that against this background, even with the help of responsible employees, it was not possible to get to the banal Internet radio, it was lost somewhere in the depths of the interface.

Like any digital platform, X5 multimedia requires regular updates. Now you do not need to go to the dealer for this, because updates arrive by air - via mobile Internet or Wi-Fi - and are installed automatically. Of course, monitoring of the state of the car through the application on the phone is supported, but now it has added the ability to remotely view a live 3D image from the external cameras of the car. Another interesting BMW solution with a smartphone, which debuted on the X-fifth, is the ability to get full access to the car using a mobile phone instead of a key. It is based on NFC technology and only works with select Android models.

Off-road intelligence

The new X5 is also suitable for off-road driving. And here, a full-fledged air suspension turned out to be very handy (on the latest generations it was only on the rear axle), which made it possible to add another 40 mm to the ground clearance of 214 mm. The car is lowered by the same amount, depending on the speed and driver commands. But even 254 mm off-road is not the limit, since the car is able to determine the piquant situation “stuck in a rut” and briefly lift the body another 30 mm to get out.

Four special modes of operation of the units also help to move through difficult areas: sand, stones, gravel and snow. They are available with an off-road package that also includes an electronically controlled rear differential lock. The latter is also included in the M Sport package, but with slightly different settings. Another help in the pampas is cameras with a clear image and many angles, as well as a special off-road mode. But you know what?

The main motive for the appearance of a powerful off-road arsenal in the X5 is not a real need, but a banal “why are we worse?” After all, all major competitors have such opportunities: Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Range Rover Sport. Cross-country ability is, first of all, the ability to try to drive where you want. And with this, any car of this class has big problems - I am ready to prove it in the nearest forest, whipping the optional X-fifth paint with branches for 85 thousand rubles. Maybe we should stay on the road and see what the car has been taught in its primary habitat?

Off-road geometry is not bad and allows you to confidently ride on the terrain. Even quickly - energy intensity is enough. An interesting function of the air suspension: it can roll and transfer mass to the opposite corner of the car when a tire is punctured, so that it is easier to get to the repair

Big Brother and the Backward Autopilot

Like all competitors, BMW is making rapid strides towards a self-driving future. Of course, the X5 was taught to urgently slow down when there is a danger of a collision from all sides, park on its own and move on a cruise, even in traffic jams, even on the autobahn. But there are a couple of solutions that are unusual for the industry. For example, a system that itself taxis in reverse from tight passages. To do this, the car always remembers (just in case) the last 50 meters of the path traveled at a speed of less than 35 km / h. And when the assistant is activated, the X5 repeats the trajectory in the opposite direction, requiring the driver only to control traction and control the situation through cameras and mirrors.

Another innovation is the camera peephole under the visor of the tidy. She makes sure that the driver does not stick to the smartphone when the car is moving in a semi-pilotless mode, as well as for his fatigue during normal driving. True, the system did not react to any provocation. The assistant to keep in the lane does not work quite adequately either: instead of taxiing, he allowed the car to fall out into the neighboring lane, and then rudely and abruptly returned it back to his own. It's strange, because similar systems on the same Volvo and Mazda work smoothly and efficiently. In general, the camera can be safely covered with adhesive tape, and it is better to steer on your own.

Where is the BMW drive?

Surprisingly, behind all these bells and whistles it is difficult (or is it just too lazy?) to discern the driving character of the car. You just don't pay attention to it. Including because the X5 is set up almost flawlessly to move from A to B. Motors pull confidently - even the younger xDrive30d with a 249-horsepower diesel engine confidently travels from 7 seconds to hundreds! And the other three power plant options (xDrive40i/340 hp, xDrive50i/462 hp and M50d) generally fit into 5.5. Steering, braking, controlling the situation on the road - just as you would expect from a car of this class.

But everything is set up so palely neutral, so as not to think at all what you are driving - BMW, Audi, or maybe Lexus in general. If you go faster and take a closer look, it becomes clear that the steering without clear feedback makes the X5 somehow detached and indifferent. You don't want to go fast and get involved in the drive at all. And you can not go through the motion settings (still the best - debuted on the "seven" Adaptive) - globally this will not change anything. The brake pedal is now electronic, with no physical connection to the brakes. And no, no, but you will notice the synthetics in her work.

The contrast shower for me was a 2001 X5 E53, which was available at the event in a retro role. An elastic and knocked down car - like a spring ready to shoot! And even if the atmospheric 4.8 is sluggish even in comparison with a modern three-liter diesel engine, but in general the tone of the first “X” is so higher that there is no doubt: the fourth generation is addressed to completely different people. And for those who need drive and communication with the chassis, and not with a multimedia system, there are sports BMWs. But wait, the new Z4 roadster has the same tidy as the X5. Coincidence?

What to say, what to say
So people are arranged -
Want to know, want to know
They want to know what will happen.
(song from the movie "Ah, vaudeville, vaudeville")

Hello dear readers of the blog ""!

I think that most people still want to know - what awaits them in the future.
From this desire, various methods have arisen that can somehow help in this - astrology (horoscopes), physiognomy, numerology, Tarot cards, palmistry.

Palmistry is the oldest way to predict the future. According to palmists, they can predict the future and see the past along the lines in the palm of your hand.

Remember, on television they showed the series " Palmist". Most learned about palmistry from this film, and after that many had a desire to learn more about this ancient knowledge.

« Palmist "- Russian TV series in 2005 based on the novel of the same name by Sergei Kiriyenko.
He wrote the script for the series Palmist based on his own novel of the same name and nowhere published.

I propose to dwell a little more on the concept itself. Palmistry and then proceed to the literature review, which will deepen the initial knowledge.

At the same time, I will warn my readers against hasty conclusions based on information obtained only from books. Any knowledge requires a serious approach, especially ancient knowledge.

At the first stage, acquaintance with palmistry can be considered as a tool for introspection and self-knowledge, allowing you to look at yourself and your qualities from the outside.
And only a deep study, a meeting with the masters, experience will allow you to move on to the next stage - trying predict the future. Or to put it more precisely - to pay attention to the possible development of events in the future.

So let's get started. Let's approach the study of the topic systematically and start with a definition.

Definition of Palmistry

Word comes from the Greek words - hand and divination, prophecy.

This is one of the oldest systems of divination about a person, about his individual characteristics, experienced and future events. according to the shapes and lines of the hand.

- chirognomy - the study of the shape of the hand,
- palmistry - the doctrine of signs on the palmar surface of the hand,
- chirology - the doctrine of the relationship of the signs studied by the two above parts of chirosophy with the bodily and mental properties of a person,
- - the art of predicting the future by the shapes and lines of the hand.

History of Palmistry

It is believed that the foundations of palmistry originated in the days of Ancient Egypt, Sumer or Babylon.
It was known to the Hindus, Chaldeans, Jews, Greeks and Romans. Palmists, astrologers and other soothsayers were in the service of the rulers. Every self-respecting ruler had his own court astrologer or palmist.

In the East, the first literary sources relating to palmistry date back to 2000. BC. Palmistry is part of the Vedas - the sacred writings of the Indians. Specifically, the treatise salmudrika shastra, it contains a lot of information about the signs on the human hand and their interpretation.

Also, the works of the great Indian sage have come down to us Valmika Maharishi(from Sanskrit - translated as "great sage"), whose age is about 5 thousand years. They contain five hundred and sixty-seven poetic stanzas, and each of them tells about the meaning of one of the signs.

One of the first treatises summarizing the doctrine of signatures was written by the ancient Indian astrologer Brahmagupta.

For information:
Brahmagupta (c. 598-670) - Indian mathematician and astronomer.
The Doctrine of Signatures- the doctrine of relationships in animate and inanimate nature, manifested in external similarity and marked with special signs (signatures).
Signature(lat. signature - designate, indicate) - a set of characteristics that uniquely identifies an object.

In the West, the works of Aristotle can be named among the first sources.

Aristotle(384 BC - 322 BC) - an ancient Greek philosopher, a student of Plato.

According to legend, during his travels in Egypt, Aristotle found an ancient Arabic scroll that described the meaning of the palmar tubercles.
He ordered to send this scroll to Alexander the Great, while writing: “ The knowledge contained in this golden scripture is worthy of your great soul.».
By order of Alexander, this papyrus was translated into Greek and, in honor of his teacher, he named it Chiromancia Aristoteles.
Aristotle was convinced that the lines on human palms are not drawn thoughtlessly, they speak of heavenly influence and the individuality of each person».

In the second century BC, Hipparchus, the founder of astronomy, proved that there is a relationship between the planets and the human soul, and this is reflected in the human hand. He gave the names of the planets to the fingers and tubercles of the hand.

Hipparchus of Nicaea(c. 190 BC - c. 120 BC) - ancient Greek astronomer, mechanic, geographer and mathematician.

Palmistry experienced rapid growth in Italy, in the Holy Roman Empire. It is mentioned in works Pliny the Elder.
Julius Caesar owned palmistry, and he attached such importance and significance to it that he did not even accept one prince only because he did not have the appropriate sign on his hand, confirming his high origin.

The physician Galen wrote more than 500 medical books and almost 250 on various subjects, including the interpretation of dreams and palmistry.

Galen(129 or 131 years - about 200 or 217 years) - Roman (Greek origin) physician, surgeon and philosopher.

Why do I bring these names? Well, at least for the fact that the names of such serious scientists of antiquity say that Palmistry is not an invention of the unenlightened, but something more - What you should pay attention to.

Palmistry in Europe

After the fall of the Roman Empire, palmistry was forgotten. Catholicism with its Inquisition stopped any attempts of a person to look behind the veil of the mystery of the future

In the Middle Ages, mainly healers and sorcerers were engaged in predictions by hand. In addition, this knowledge was spread by gypsy tribes who roamed Europe at the beginning of the 15th century.

Nicholas Renier. "Fortune-telling scene". 1625. Louvre, Paris.

But after inventions of printing previously secret knowledge became available to many.

In 1448 in Germany Gartlieb writes his book The Art of Palmistry.

In 1522, a book was published entitled "Iutrubuctiones Apoteles matricae eleg-in Chiromantian", written by a Carthaginian monk Johann von Hagen.
This book was supplied with numerous drawings and withstood many editions.

Johann von Hagen (circa 1467 - 1537) was a German astrologer. Monk of the Carthusian order.

Then came the books Bartelomeo de la Roca(1504) and Agrippa von Nottesheim from Germany (1515). Between 1533 and 1560, these books were published in France and other European countries.

Paracelsus was engaged in palmistry and systematized all the data available about it. It was at that time that the belief appeared that Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Apollo, Mercury and the Moon controlled the pattern of lines on the palms, and that a person could learn from these drawings about what God had destined for him.

Paracelsus(real name Philip Aureol Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim (1493-1541) - famous alchemist and physician.

In 1640 an Italian Belote a book was written on palmistry.
During this period, translations of works on palmistry from Latin and Arabic appeared in Europe. For example, Abugalaben Omar(1670) Mengene(1687), etc.

In Europe, palmistry flourished in the 16th-18th centuries. Since the beginning of the 17th century, palmistry has been taught as an independent discipline in Germany in the educational institutions of Halle and Leipzig. Many universities even had departments of palmistry. Lectures by Professor Hexner and Adam Nitzky were popular.

Palmistry became extremely popular in all European capitals, but at the same time in England it was outlawed as a form of witchcraft.

In the 18th century, palmistry flourished in France, where it was very popular among the nobility. Myself Napoleon was her supporter and often consulted fortune-tellers.

In 1843, the book Chirognomonia by Captain Stanislas D'Arpentigny.
Casimir Stanislas D'Arpentigny, a French captain, after meeting with a gypsy, became interested in why so much can be said about a person by his hand. He began his research by studying the differences in the shapes of people's hands. His book was considered the best at the time.
D'Arpentigny identified seven main types of hands, which are still used by many modern palmists today.

Palmistry received a powerful impetus to the development thanks to the artist Adolphe de Barol. In 1860, his book Secrets of the Hand, the most famous book on palmistry, was published in France. To this day, it is the reference book of all palmists in the world.
In 1868 it was published in the Russian Empire.

Adolphe Debarroll famous French palmist.

He studied Kabbalah under the guidance of Eliphas Levi himself, a well-known occultist. Debarolle combined the knowledge of Kabbalah with palmistry.

One of the most famous palmists was Luis Hamon. He was born in Ireland and his real name was William John Varner, also known as Heiro (Hiro).

Luis Hamon, Heiro(1866-1936)

According to information from his memoirs, he learned palmistry and acquired skill in India under the guidance of a brahmin who brought him to his village and there, over time, he was given the opportunity to read an ancient book on palmistry.

In 1897 in England, his book " hand guide". Luis Hamon's amazingly accurate hand predictions are based on a synthesis of the knowledge of the East and Europe.

In 1900, a book by an American chirologist was published in the USA William J. Banham"Laws of scientific reading of the hand" - he combined the works of de Barolle and D'arpentigny.

Banham became interested in chirology at the age of thirteen, when he, like Casimir Stanislas D'Arpentigny, learned the secrets of palmistry from a young gypsy woman.
He devoted himself to making the study of the hands "...worthy of the best efforts of the best minds" and to move it from superstition to a scientific discipline.

Palmistry in the 20th century

In the 20th century, palmistry was officially recognized in many countries of the world. This was started by medicine, which pays more serious attention to the signs on the palms.

Scientists from major research centers, such as the Emory Medical University in Atlanta, the Kennedy-Galton Center at the University of London, began to study palmistry from the point of view of a person's predisposition to certain diseases.

Today, in serious medical journals in the West, one can find interesting findings regarding the relationship between hands and the state of physical and mental health of a person.

In many firms and government agencies in Europe, the United States and Japan, palmists began to act as consultants.
In Europe, chirology is recognized as one of the ways of knowing oneself and the world.

In 1944, the first serious work on chirological analysis was published. Julius Spier"Children's Hands"

Then came the work Noel Jaquin, Charlotte Wolf and Andrew Fisgerbert.

The most famous in the twentieth century were such palmists as William Benham (USA), S.K. Sen (India), John Saint-Germain (France), Noel Jaquin (USA), Charlotte Wolfe (England), Andrew Fitzherbert (USA) , Peter West (USA) and many others.

The famous psychiatrist K. Jung in his medical practice often used palmistry to study the patient and predict his future. Jung believed that, knowing palmistry, you can unravel the secrets of the subconscious.
He said: “From the hands, whose forms and functional abilities are closely dependent on the psyche, one can identify and, accordingly, interpret the mental properties of the human character”.

K. Jung was a friend of the well-known palmist Julius Spier. After attending Spier's consultations, Jung came to this conclusion: I have to say that I was overly impressed with the results..”

Carl Gustav Jung(1875 - 1961) - Swiss psychiatrist, founder of one of the areas of depth psychology, analytical psychology.

Palmistry and Science

Modern science does not recognize palmistry as a science, referring it to the field of pseudoscience and esotericism.
Although at the same time in some countries, for example in India, in Mumbai there is the National Indian University, which teaches palmistry. In Canada, in Montreal, in 1940, the “National Academy of Palmistry” was opened, which still exists, where anyone can study.

Despite the fact that Palmistry is rejected by official science, but at the same time, the study of the embryonic development of finger patterns in connection with heredity gave impetus to the emergence of a new branch of knowledge - dermatoglyphics. It is considered proven that the formation of the skin pattern of the palms, as well as the development of the brain, occurs at 3-4 months of intrauterine development.

Dermatoglyphics- a new branch of knowledge that studies the development of finger patterns in connection with heredity. (This term was proposed by the American scientists Kamins and Middle).

This unique pattern is familiar to police officers, forensic scientists and criminals who are fingerprinted.

Among the ancient Hindus and Chinese, the thumbprint not only played the role of a signature, but, in order to avoid misunderstandings, it certainly had to duplicate the signature.

Hindus are convinced that the uniqueness of this pattern is a reflection of the individual karma of each person. Interestingly, in Sanskrit, the concepts of "seal" and "fingerprint" are homographs, that is, they are written the same way.

The results of dermatoglyphic studies are used in the diagnosis of many congenital brain diseases. Dr. Theodore J. Berry, in his book The Hand as a Mirror of the Systematics of Diseases, showed how the lines of the hands of patients can determine the presence of serious diseases, such as rubella, mitral valve prolapse, dystrophy, and various others.

It is necessary to mention Sir Francis Galton, because it was in his monograph on fingerprints “Finger prints” (1892) that the basic principles of dermatoglyphics were laid down (the invariance of finger patterns throughout life, a strict individuality and a simple possibility of classifying into three types - arcs (arches), loops, curls).

Sir Francis Galton(1822 - 1911) - English explorer, geographer, anthropologist and psychologist; founder of differential psychology and psychometrics, statistician.

In general terms, we got acquainted with the history of Palmistry and it's time to move on to the essence - what does Palmistry include. Of course also in general terms.

Main lines of the palm

There are six main lines on our palms, which are called the main ones.

Each line has a name and its pattern reflects some aspect of human life.

life line - considered the most important, it is on it that they pay attention in the first place. Often the length of this line is associated with life expectancy, but this is not entirely true. More precisely, it indicates the way and quality of life, physical vitality, stability of character, willpower.

Heart line - shows the power and ability of emotional perception, the power of affection and the ability to love. Those. shows the emotional makeup of a person.

head line - reports on the ability to any profession, the level of intelligence, the ability to think logically, the ability to succeed.

Mercury line - talks about the state of health, professional qualities, craving for adventure and the spirit of the explorer.

The Apollo line has another name - the "line of happiness", shows how best to use creative energy and the possibility of succeeding by developing your talents.

Line of Saturn shows the manifestation of character, attitude towards a career, relationships with friends, daily problems and the ability to succeed in life in general.

Minor lines

There are also secondary lines: the line of marriage, the line of intuition and all kinds of branches from the main lines.

For example, the length and success of marriage and even the number of children can be determined from the line of marriage.

Fingers and hills

The fingers on the hand also have their own names. Their names depend on those planets that rule the nearby territory, which indicates the connection of palmistry with astrology. The thumb is Venus, the index finger is Jupiter, the middle finger is Saturn, the ring finger is Apollo, and the little finger is Mercury.

Each planet carries a symbol:
Venus - love, love of life;
Jupiter - power;
Saturn - time, fate, fate;
Sun (Apollo) - success, gifts and talents;
Mercury - trade, practical activity, intelligence.

There are fleshy pads on the palm - hills (a bulge located under the finger). Each finger of the hand corresponds to its own "planetary hill". The hillocks show the hobbies and interests of a person, they also judge the psycho-emotional state of a person.
Mercury: soul energy, intelligence, moral strength, practicality.

Apollo: compassion, love of beauty, creative talents, ability to succeed.

Saturn: seriousness, foresight, despondency, prejudice.

Jupiter: leadership, honor, ambition, religiosity.

Lesser Hill of Mars: morale, self-control.

Greater Mount of Mars: resistance, composure, calmness and courage.

Venus: kindness, love, modesty, passion.

Moon: Sentimentality, imagination, selfishness.

Palmists highlight lines, signs, patterns and other indicators on the hands. Each finger has its own line: the thumb - the line of life, the index - the line of the heart, the middle - the line of fate, the ring finger - the line of happiness, the little finger - the line of mercury. In addition, additional lines are distinguished: the line of the mind, the line of Mars, the line of intuition, the lines of influence and other, small lines.

There are main types of signs: cross, star, quadrilateral, dot, circles, islands, triangles, lattices.

The meaning of each sign, palmists determine by cumulative factors. Depending on which line the sign is located on (for example, a cross is a bad sign on a good line and a good sign on a bad one. A star is the best good sign, wherever it is).

And there are many such combinations, situations, and they concern signs, lines, hills. So - not everything is so simple and unambiguous. Knowledge and experience required.

Levels of study of palmistry

For a person far from teaching, it seems that on " three lines”, which stand out most on the hand, palmistry ends.

But it's not. There are four levels of hand study:

1. The first level is the study of papillary lines on the fingers and palm of a person. These lines allow you to determine the genetic predisposition to certain diseases.

This is the pragmatic part of palmistry, which has a scientific justification and a special science, dermatography, is engaged in this area. She was mentioned a little higher.

2. The second and third levels are interconnected and study the shape of the hand, as well as the lines on the palm. Both of these levels together constitute the so-called field of study - chirology.

Chirology, in turn, consists of two sections:

- chirognomy, determines the relationship between the shape of the palm, the shape of the hands, the size of the fingers and the characteristics of a person's personality.

- palmistry, the main area of study is the palm (its lines, patterns, bumps).

3. The fourth level is palmistry itself. Those. prediction of the future.

So everyone chooses for themselves the appropriate level of study. And can see the possibilities of further advancement through the levels.

Review of books on Palmistry

The list of books on Palmistry is so long that you can drown in this stream. But I think that the readers of the blog "" already know how to form their own approaches to the choice of literature.
It is important to have some principle of classification of literature in the selection. One of them, the principle from the author .

First, consider the books of those authors who are most famous and have made a personal contribution to the topic of Palmistry. Those. Basically, they are the originals.
Secondly, let's consider - authors-collectors (populists) of information and authors-interpreters. Their books are also interesting and often help to fill in passages that were not well understood in the original sources.

Someone is closer to the principle - from simple to complex. In this case, you can start with fiction, simple books and only then move on to more complex ones.
Well, someone will use the principle - chronology. And start with the earliest editions.

I will use the first principle.

One of the first books on the study of palmistry can offer a book
Richard Webster. The basics of palmistry are detailed in it, and the name of the author is quite well known.

Richard Webster. The Complete Guide to Palmistry. Secrets of palm reading. Publisher: FAIR-PRESS, 2006

Richard Webster(Richard Webster) is a hypnologist from New Zealand.

For more than forty years he has been dealing with problems of metaphysics. Travels around the world giving lectures in the field of psychology and parapsychology, conducts seminars on the study of mental phenomena.

Richard Webster. "Palm Reading for Beginners". Publisher: FAIR-PRESS. 2009
Richard Webster."A New Approach to Hand Reading". Publisher: "GRAND-FAIR". 2010

Next book by French author Adolphe de Barroll.
His book "Secrets of the Hand" withstood three dozen editions, remaining the most interesting and exciting book. De Barrolle was an adherent of Kabbalah, so in his book he tried to combine these two areas of knowledge.
This book was first published in France in 1860. The book was published in Russia in 1868.

Here is her modern edition:

Adolphe Debarrol."Secrets of the hand. How to know life, character and future along the lines of the hand. Publisher: Tsentrpoligraf. 2010

American chirologist William Benham- one of the most famous researchers in the field of palmistry of the first half of the 20th century.
Interest in the study of palmistry appeared in Benham at the age of 13. His first teacher was an old gypsy woman, from whom he took over the initial knowledge.
In 1900, his book Laws of Scientific Reading of the Hand was published in the USA, in which he combined the works of de Barroll and D'arpentigny.
This is a full-fledged textbook of scientific hand reading, which has gone through more than 18 editions and reflects the experience of many years of observation and research.

In the modern edition:

William G. Benham."The Laws of Scientific Hand Reading". Publisher: Aletheia. 1998

Cairo (Heiro)- professional name Luis Hamon(1886-1936), an Englishman by nationality who devoted his whole life to the study of the occult sciences, such as palmistry, astrology and numerology.
In 1897, in England, his book "Guide to the Hand" was published. His amazingly accurate hand predictions are based on a synthesis of the knowledge of the East and Europe.
The book, in addition to general information about palmistry, also contains an extensive database of interesting facts and life stories of people who at various times were his clients.

Modern edition:

Hamon L."Encyclopedia of Palmistry: The Art of Destiny Interpretation from Antiquity to Ours". Centerpolygraph. 2013

The human face is able to convey any experience, and some feelings leave traces on the body forever. Human emotions can give out not only facial expressions, but also palms. Learning to read the lines of fate in the palm of your hand will help palmistry for beginners with explanations, photos. Just read to the end.

Basics for beginner palmists

Many of us have heard of Palmistry is one of the most ancient forms of divination, which involves reading hands. There is a belief that says that the lines and patterns on the palms can tell a lot about their owner.

You have to start simple. The first thing to do is to choose the right palm for divination. Palmists say that representatives of the weaker half of humanity on the right hand note what kind of baggage a person had before being born, but the left one can tell about life events.

But for representatives of the strong half of the world's population, everything is exactly the opposite.

When everything is clear with the hands, you can move on to more interesting things - to the lines on the palms. There are only four key ones:

  • fate;
  • hearts;
  • life;

Line in the palm of your hand - what you need to know

Next, we will talk about each of the main lines on the human hand. For example, life line responsible for the endurance and health of its owner. Ailments, painful conditions and well-being are reflected in it.

fate line shows career achievements and the path that a person makes in life. All turning points and major events are reflected on it.

mind line talks about the rational side of the personality: it demonstrates his mind, intellectual abilities, as well as the areas in which he is strong.

heart line- this is the emotional side, shows the soul of a person. This includes love, emotions and feelings.

It is important that in divination by hands on the lines, everything is not limited, although many people think that way.

Hand types matter

If you just look at a person’s hand, discarding the lines, you can tell a lot about this person. Like lines, there are four types of hands themselves in palmistry. In this matter, it is important to measure the length of the palm - from the edge of the phalanx to the wrist.

Each of the species is named after one of the elements:

What are bumps and what do they mean?

Important nuance

Palmistry is a very interesting teaching. Of course, it is not easy to comprehend it right away, because there are many nuances. But a beginner can understand the basics, it is even possible to do it on their own, without the help of experts.

The main thing is to take into account everything: lines, bumps, fingers and drawings. If you seriously engage in this type of fortune-telling, then it is possible to easily find out about the character of a person simply by looking at the hand.

One of the most exciting activities and entertainment. The first mention of palmistry dates back to 2000 BC. e. Palmistry is a Greek word, translated as divination or prediction by hand. In the Middle Ages, palmistry was considered a science, and today interest in palmistry has not faded either. Each person has his own destiny, which is encrypted in the palm of your hand in the form of lines.

Richard Webster believes that the ability to read human destiny in the palm of your hand is just knowledge, experience and logical thinking, and not some otherworldly phenomena.

It is a developing science, accessible to those who can think and analyze. Fortune telling by hand does not require knowledge in medicine and any other sciences, so anyone can do it.

LIFE LINE.

The longer the line of life, pronounced in the palm of your hand, the more enduring and energetic a person is. The life line is the main line, an indicator of our vital activity. It is good when she is strong and healthy, brightly outlined. When the line of life begins at the edge of the palm - this indicates the decisiveness of the character, if it begins in the form of a chain - too dependent on others.

When at the very beginning the line of life connects with the line of the head, the longer the combined segment, the more cautious, sensitive and insecure the person is. Such people achieve little in life.

If people have a short lifeline, they may well live to old age, they just do not have physical endurance.

If a thin parallel line passes with the line of life, this sister line is an auspicious sign.

She is considered a guardian angel line. In especially lucky people, it goes along the entire length of the life line. Breaks in the line of life often speak of changes in life. Lines running from the base of the thumb to the life line and crossing it are the lines of anxiety and stress.

There can be serious trouble if the line of life is connected to the line of the head and heart, in which case a fatal outcome is possible. The line of life, not connected with the line of the head, speaks of early development and determination, often these are very gifted people.

HEART LINE.

The line of the heart governs our emotions. The line of the heart shows how a person sympathizes with loved ones and people in general. The character and temperament, the state of the cardiovascular system are visible. The more sinuous the line of the heart, the more emotional the person. A weak line of the heart indicates a sensitive nature.

If the line of the heart is low, then the person is capable of deep feelings. The shorter the line of the heart and the higher it is located, the less a person has the ability to express his feelings physically.

People differ with the spiritual and physical line of the heart. The physical line of the heart ends between the middle and index fingers, or at the base of one of them. The spiritual line of the heart runs parallel to the base of the fingers. People with a physical heart line know how to love and express their feelings, easily endure the blows of fate and do not fall into depression. People with a spiritual line of the heart have increased sensitivity. Such people always strive for communication and always try to maintain inner freedom. People whose heart line ends at the base of the index finger are very demanding in their personal lives. The higher the line of the heart rises to the hill of Jupiter, the more branches, the better for a person, this means wealth, success, recognition.

If the line of the heart connects with the line of the head and the line of life, a fatal outcome is possible, a murder out of jealousy. The line of the heart, passing high, indicates an impulsive, jealous person.

The line of the heart is clear, red - nobility, generosity. Deep red - passionate love, sensuality. Without branches - dryness of the heart. Intersection of secondary lines is a deception in love. If the line is double, then this indicates that this person in marriage will be very devoted.

HEAD LINE

The head line is the most important line on the arm. The line of the head indicates the strength of our thinking, the degree of development of the intellect. It starts between the bases of the thumb and forefinger, then crosses the palm and ends approximately under the ring finger. The longer the line of the mind, the wider and more complex the person thinks, the more developed the intellect. The line of the head, crossing the palm completely to the edge of the palm, speaks of the ability to foresee events and insight. With a short line of mind, a person is little inclined to analysis.

The branched end of the line of the mind speaks of the creativity of a person and his ability to come up with original ideas. Often the branching of the mind line is called the writer's fork. An independent way of thinking in a person who has a line of mind far from the line of life. If the line of mind and the line of life merge, this person is not able to make decisions on his own.

The contact of the head line with the life line indicates caution. The line of the mind and the line of life, which are close, speak of the independence of a person's thinking. If the line of the mind begins at the index finger, then such a person is very dependent in his thoughts and actions. A weak and unstable line means nervousness and slowness.

The dashed line of the head indicates poor memory and poor attention, as a rule, weak intellectual abilities. A thin long line - infidelity, frivolity. A wide colorless line - imprudence, irascibility, anger. The line of the head, consisting of small lines, means poor memory, headaches. Deep line - intelligence, power, concentration. Deep red line - obsession, the ability to cruelty. Pink line - the person is intelligent

LINE OF FATE.

The line of fate is one of the main lines on the hand. It provides information about the work activity and career growth of a person, speaks of future success.

In general, the presence of the line of fate allows you to make the right decisions.

The line, above the line of the wrist, rising up to the middle finger is the line of fate. The line of fate is pronounced and weakly expressed. It may be in a small area of \u200b\u200bthe palm, or it may be completely absent. A long line of fate, stretching to the middle finger, speaks of the independence and determination of a person.

If the line of fate has breaks, then this indicates that a person will often change professions. For independent people, the line of fate often begins in the middle of the palm. If the line of fate ends at the hill of Jupiter, then a person will have material success, wealth, and honors. If the line of fate ends at the ring finger, the hill of Apollo, then the person will achieve his goal in everything, it is worth doing creativity. If the line of fate ends at the little finger, the hill of Mercury, it is a bad sign. Ruin, failure, but these people are sociable, they need to have a profession with these inclinations.

If the end of the fate line bifurcates or has a triple fork, this is a good sign.

A person will get joy and pleasure from life.

The presence of a long line of fate indicates the longevity of a person.

If the line goes from the edge of the palm to the line of fate, then its presence speaks of parapsychological abilities and an increased interest in everything mystical.

If the line of intuition is directed towards the line of fate, this person has the ability to clairvoyance and prophecy. If the line of intuition is directed to the line of the mind - the ability to heal.

LINE OF AFFECTION.

They are located on the edge of the palm. Sometimes these lines determine the number of marriages or heart affections in life.

The line of children is located under the little finger, they often indicate the possible number of children,

since with modern medicine their number can be controlled.

TRAVEL LINE

Travel lines are possessed by people striving for changes in their lives. These are several horizontal lines originating at the edge of the palm, the owners of these lines love to travel.

MONEY LINE

The money line goes from the life line to the base of a hill. If the life line goes to the hill of Jupiter, then the person earns money as a result of career growth. If a line of money comes out on the hill of Saturn, then hard work lies ahead. In the event that the line of money turns to the hill of Apollo, the person will receive money easily, even possibly win it. If the line of money is directed to the hill of Mercury, then such a person earns money with his head. With the help of creativity and in business.

Ring of Venus

The line begins between the fingers of Jupiter - Saturn, ends between the fingers of the Sun and Mercury. The ring of Venus means the ring of love. People are sensitive, elevated. If the line breaks - hysterical. If the line is double, they are prone to intimate joys and vicious pleasures.

HEALTH LINE

The line of health starts from the line of life, goes to the little finger and ends at its base. If the health line is long, then this indicates that the long-liver

If there is no health line on the hand, then the person is interested in material values and such a person is not subject to stress.

MYSTICAL CROSS

The cross, which is located between the line of the heart and the line of the head, that is, in a large quadrangle, is called mystical. The holders of such a cross have the ability to mystical sciences.

SIGNS

Often, various signs can be seen on the palm and lines of the hand. Somewhere we see crosses, somewhere islands, sometimes squares, stars, lattices. Each of these signs, as has been observed, carries a semantic meaning.

Lattice is an unfavorable sign. Indicates that the circumstances are not clear, and things are confused

Crosses on the main lines are unfavorable. They talk about upcoming problems, and a cross in a quadrangle speaks of a person's superpowers.

Squares are a sign of protection. Someone cares about you and helps in difficult moments of life.

A star, three lines intersecting is a good sign. A joyful event will appear in your life. The star lights the way.

The islands are a bifurcating line, and then again connecting into one, thus forming an island. The sign is not good, it speaks of loneliness, problems, nervous breakdowns, depression. Small lines crossing the line of the mind indicate frequent headaches. Islands on the line of life, speak of depression and health problems.

Palmistry is the practice of studying the essence of a person by divination by hand. Lines on the palm and other symbols will tell a lot about the character and even the fate of a person. Palmistry for beginners with explanations will help you correctly guess by hand, and get answers to questions that concern a person.

Principles and essence of palmistry

The meaning of fortune-telling is to read information from the hand about processes that have already begun to occur, but which will become noticeable to consciousness after months, years or even decades.

Depending on the type of "reading" of the hand, palmists study:

  • its various properties, including the shapes and lines of the palm and fingers;
  • shade and texture of skin and nails;
  • the shape of the joints and many other features of the hands.

Important, for those who study the basics of palmistry, is the interpretation of all the features of the palm in the complex. The main principle of divination by hand is the perception of what is seen as a predisposition to certain events and actions. Seeing a bad sign during fortune-telling, you should analyze it in combination with other signs. It is worth preparing for what may happen, but not taking it as already accomplished.

Preliminary hand analysis

During the preliminary analysis, attention should be paid to the shape of the hands and fingers, the "hills" on the hands, their severity and size. Below is a decoding of these signs with explanations and pictures.

Which hand to guess?

There are no "female" and "male" hands, one of which should be guessed. Both hands must be studied together in order to understand how similar they are. This is done in order to make sure that a certain sign is present on both hands.

To do this, you should pay attention to some nuances:

  1. First of all, they guess by the “main” hand (usually the right one). When a sign is present only on the right, this indicates the existence of a certain trend in a person's life.
  2. When both hands are exactly the same, this means that a person has not developed in the course of life in relation to the starting point that heredity or nature has given him.

In some practices of palmistry, it is believed that the "other hand" (for example, for a right-hander - the left):

  • bears genetic or family qualities;
  • information about philosophical beliefs;
  • talks about "past lives" and karma.

Palm shapes

Usually, hand shapes are divided into four or more basic types, sometimes corresponding to classical elements (earth, air, water, fire) or temperaments (choleric, phlegmatic, etc.). It is believed that the shape of the hand indicates the characteristic features corresponding to the indicated type of personality.

The dominant interpretation, however, is that there are seven different types of hands, which in some way relate to the seven races of humanity.

These seven types of hands are:

  • elementary or lowest type ("simple" hand);
  • practical (shovel-shaped) hand;
  • artistic (conical) hand;
  • practical (knotty) hand;
  • philosophical hand;
  • mental (spiritual) hand;
  • mixed hand.

Artistic hand. Elemental hand. Spade hand. Philosophical hand. Practical hand. Spiritual hand.

The shape of the palm will reinforce those personality traits that other characteristic features of the hands speak of. So, if the patterns on the palm reveal the creative nature of the person sitting in front of us, then the corresponding shape of the hand will emphasize it.

The science of fingers in palmistry

Fingers will help to learn a lot about the character and aspirations of a person:

  1. The index finger tells us about the ambitions of the owner and the tendency to tyranny. If this finger is unusually long and almost equal to the middle one, both tendencies are extremely pronounced.
  2. If the middle finger has a straight and regular shape, this indicates a serious and very obligatory character. If the finger has a pronounced curvature, it belongs to a person with a well-defined fate, and this must be confirmed by other signs in the palm of your hand. In general, this is a bad sign, denoting a “crooked” fate, which, at the same time, is difficult to influence.
  3. The ring finger, if very long and straight, indicates an extraordinary desire for fame, celebrity, etc. Although this can be an extremely good quality for an actor, politician, just a public person, then for someone who must keep secrets (family doctor, psychologist, lawyer), this is highly undesirable.
  4. The little finger, if it is long, rising above the second phalanx of the nameless, indicates eloquence and special subtlety in the presentation of thoughts. A short little finger shows the reverse side of what was said, the owner of such a finger hardly formulates his thoughts aloud.
  5. If the index and ring fingers are exactly the same length, this indicates a balanced mind (its emotional and analytical sides), but such a sign is quite rare.

Thus, a simple analysis of the fingers can tell us, for example, that we are facing a person - ambitious, serious, vain and cunning, or vice versa - quiet, infantile and simple.

Hills in the palm of your hand

These are tubercles on the surface of the palm, which reflect the presence or absence of certain qualities, and also enhance their significance if these qualities are expressed by other signs.

The study of the hills is associated with the qualities attributed to the seven luminaries, such as:

  • Venus - love, emotionality, passion;
  • Mars - vitality, courage;
  • Mercury - mind, ability to science and trade;
  • Moon - romanticism, frivolity, imagination;
  • Sun - fruitfulness, success;
  • Jupiter - ambition, power, the desire to dominate;
  • Saturn - thriftiness, calmness, seriousness.

Each of the hills can mean the presence of certain character traits:

  1. The hill of Mars is located at the beginning of the life line and if it is large enough and clear, its owner has a pronounced warlike nature, which manifests itself in all areas of life.
  2. Mount Jupiter is located at the base of the index finger. When he is large, he demonstrates a desire for dominance, a desire to manage and command people, to lead and organize them.
  3. The Mount of Saturn is located at the base of the middle finger. A clear, well-defined hill tells us that a person is characterized by love for loneliness, thoughtfulness and calmness.
  4. The hill of the Sun is located under the base of the ring finger, it is also called the hill of Apollo. When he is large, he indicates an insatiable desire for primacy, and also indicates a craving for beauty in all aspects of life.
  5. The Mount of Mercury is under the little finger. In combination with signs that speak of a good character, this is an auspicious sign, but on a hand belonging to an ambiguous nature, it enhances bad qualities such as greed and deceit.
  6. The Hill of the Moon is under the Mind Line. This hill is related to everything related to the poetic perception of the world, romance, craving for travel and changes in life.
  7. The part of the palm under the base of the thumb and inside the life line is called the hill of Venus. When it is expressed clearly, but not too great, it denotes a desire for love and communication, a creative temperament, and this, as a rule, is very noticeable in the hands of many artists, singers and musicians.

Wrist bracelets

Separately, "bracelets" have little meaning.

Up to three of these lines can be located on the wrist:

  • health;
  • wealth;
  • happiness.

The combination of all three lines is very rare.

The location of the bracelets on the wrist

Main lines

In palmistry, primary and secondary lines are distinguished.

Main lines on the palm:

  • life;
  • mind (head);
  • hearts;
  • fate.

Basic lines on the palm

Secondary lines are:

  • health;
  • children;
  • intuition;
  • some others.

Below are photos describing all these lines.

Watch a short video on the topic of the main lines on the arm from the Chiromantie channel.

life line

The life line is perhaps the least easily "read" line in the palm of your hand. It originates approximately in the middle between the thumb and forefinger, goes around the thumb hill and descends to the wrist joint.

Life line location

The line does not describe life, but only the state of a person, his vital energy.

Traditionally, the life line reflects the main milestones:

  • key events;
  • physical state;
  • mental state and its consequences.

The length of the line is not tied to the duration of a person's life.

A “good” line of life is even and clear, the more intersections it has with other lines and signs, the more unforeseen negative circumstances there are in a person’s fate.

A wide line of life means the predominance of instincts in a person, a thin and clear line means willpower.

heart line

The line of the heart is the first of the main lines considered by palmists. It symbolizes love and attraction, and also reflects human emotions.

The line is located in the upper part of the palm under the fingers. The more tortuous and intermittent it is, the more emotionally illegible a person is - he is characterized by inconstancy in relationships, he is able to change.

Location of the heart line

The most obvious sign for prediction will be the interweaving of the lines of the heart and mind. It says that a person does not separate emotions from reason, which can mean recklessness, and, as a result, accidents, injuries, etc.

A “broken” heart line will tell you about a serious loss. With such a person, you should be as careful as possible in your assessments so as not to hurt him.

mind line

Location Features:

  1. This line starts from the edge of the palm under the index finger and runs along the palm to the wrist.
  2. Often the line of the mind begins in the same place as the line of life.

Palmists usually interpret this line to determine:

  • way of thinking of a person;
  • ability to learn;
  • human forms of communication and thirst for knowledge;
  • dominance of a creative or analytical way of thinking;

An even straight line speaks of a remarkable mind, while a crossed line even speaks of possible deviations in mental development.

The key point in the analysis of the Mind line is the study of its curvature, the lines crossing it or “coming out” of it. Any upward curvature of it from the usual location indicates that the person is exposed to circumstances that are unusual in tension. Simply symbolizing that the mind had to “dodge” in order to overcome certain difficulties.

fate line

Most of the lines on the hand have a beginning, but the line of fate does not have a specific point from which it begins. One way or another, it goes to the middle finger. It is believed that it reflects the path of a person, including commitment to certain interests, profession, and also speaks of his successes and failures.

This line is still not well understood. There are people for whom the line of fate exactly repeats all the turns of life, there are those for whom it reflects only the main thing. There are those whose line of fate does not say anything. This line is subject to the most profound study, and beginners should not make fateful decisions regarding the person they are guessing on the basis of this line.

Wealth lines

Wealth lines are not considered in the European school of palmistry. Here, a set of signs is studied, by which it is possible to determine the possible well-being of the owner. However, in the Chinese tradition they are. These are vertical lines located under the ring finger.

If there are many lines, and they are clear and straight, this should indicate that their owner can make good money. Wavy money lines are believed to indicate that money matters are unstable and it will be very difficult to correct them.

line of children

The lines relating to children are thinly marked vertical lines directly above the family line. To see them, the easiest way is to press on this part of the hand with your fingertips. Then find out which of these small lines stands out most clearly.

The video from the channel Astro - prorok presents a lesson on palmistry for beginners with explanations.

Sometimes they are deeply marked, but in many cases it is necessary to use a magnifying glass to study them. Broad and deep lines denote sons, thin and narrow - daughters.

Hidden Abilities Line

The line of latent abilities (intuition) is rarely found in ordinary people, but often manifests itself in philosophers and psychics. This line should form a semicircle starting at the surface of the Mount of Mercury and continuing to the surface of the Mount of the Moon.

In any case, the presence of this line in the palm of your hand indicates a developed intuition and a possible ability to predict the future. Very often, the owners of the lines of intuition have prophetic dreams.

health line

The line of health is most subject to change, because it directly reflects the state of human health in the present period of time.

Usually the line of health begins at the hill of Mercury and goes to the line of life. Interestingly, it is the curved line of health that speaks of its strength, as if showing the flexibility of the body's defense systems. Sometimes this line may be completely absent - this is a good sign indicating a strong constitution and a healthy nervous system.

Additional symbols on the hands

These symbols are sometimes of the utmost importance.

Star - pentagram

Each point (top of the star) represents an element:

  • Earth;
  • air;
  • the fire;
  • water;

Palmists decipher this sign as follows:

  1. The vertical pentagram (one vertex up) shows commitment primarily to spirituality, since the fifth element (Spirit) is directed upwards.
  2. An inverted pentagram (two points up) indicates spirituality, located at the very bottom and thus playing a minimal role.

quadrilateral

The quadrilateral is located between the lines of the mind and heart.

  1. To be considered a clear sign, it must not taper towards any of its sides.
  2. If it looks “correct”, then it means prudence, balance in all things and in general is an excellent sign.
  3. Excessively narrow indicates narrowness of views.
  4. Extremely wide, on the contrary, indicates fuzzy judgments and weakness of convictions. Sometimes - on the absence of one's position in principle or susceptibility to the opinions of others.

Quadrangle - designated as sector "A"

Triangle

The large triangle is formed by the lines of the mind, life and health. The larger this triangle, the better your well-being will be and your outlook on life will also be broader. Only in the case when in this figure the line of life is long, the line of the mind is even, and the line of health is clear, we can talk about the presence of all three factors of happiness in a person’s life. If the upper angle (between the lines of the mind and life) is sharp, the person is nervous, timid and sensitive.

Ring of Apollo

The circle (ring) on the hill of Apollo is a sign of misfortune. This sign is a harbinger of hard times, especially if it is wide and enters any other hill. This ring refers to an important mark on the hand, since its presence means that a person needs support from the family throughout his life.
