Surface preparation

The surface of the product should not have burrs, sharp edges (with a radius of less than 2 mm), welding spatter, welding undercuts, cutting marks, or flux residues.

The metal surface must be cleaned from rust, scale, metal oxides by abrasive blasting to a degree of Sa2 1/2 according to ISO 8501-1 or ISO 12944-4 (most of the mill scale and paint coating, foreign bodies must be removed, the surface must have a uniform metallic color). After cleaning, the surface must be dedusted compressed air.

Degreasing of the surface to degree 1 according to ISO 8502 (no traces of grease on the filter paper after wiping the surface) is recommended to be done with a degreaser OM-01S.

Coloring should be carried out no later than 6 hours after machining when working on outdoors and 24 hours when working indoors.

When painting, the surface must be dry and clean.

Mode of application

Tinting

At the customer's request, tinting of primer-enamel is carried out in any color according to the RAL catalog by prior agreement, starting from 200 kg. The price of Nerzhamet may be slightly higher.

Preparing the base for application
The surface must be cleaned of loose rust and scale, dirt, oils, dust and degreased. The surface must be dry; enamel should not be applied to a damp surface.

Preparing the composition for application
Mix the primer-enamel thoroughly and dilute it to working viscosity (depending on the application method) with xylene, solvent or P-universal, no more than 20% of the volume. When using other solvents, no guarantee of quality is given!
When carrying out painting work in rooms with temperatures below +10°C, it is recommended to maintain the primer-enamel at room temperature during the day (up to a temperature of +15°C).

Mode of application
Primer-enamel is applied in several ways: airless or pneumatic spray, brush or roller.
The recommended number of paint layers is 2-3.
When painting rusty surfaces with Nerzhamet, it is recommended to apply the first layer of more diluted enamel with a thickness of 20-25 microns. Subsequent layers are 30-40 microns thick. If it is necessary to obtain the required thickness of the finishing coating, the number of layers can be increased.
It is recommended to apply subsequent layers after the previous one has dried to touch.
The recommended time for interlayer drying and drying of the primer-enamel may vary depending on air humidity and the intensity of air exchange near the painted surface.
Temperature conditions for applying enamel: –5 to +50°С.
Drying time at a temperature of +20°C is 4 hours.

Putting the coating into operation
- with hot (95-115°C) drying - after 1-2 days

The maximum duration of coating exposure is not limited.
At long-term storage painted structures, before applying the next layer, salt, chalking products and other contaminants should be removed from the surface by washing with a clean fresh water under high pressure, then dry the surface to be coated.

The thickness of the coating in one layer depends on the amount of material used during application:
