Where did the maniac appear? Where do rapists come from? There are no gangster faces

Many people confuse sexual maniacs with rapists. But the difference between them is significant. A person with hypertrophied sexuality may well be a maniac in this area. This does not prevent him from falling in love very often sincerely, gallantly courting like Don Juan or Casanova. Such people do not bring significant harm to society, except for the possible numerous fatherless offspring. Sexual abusers are dangerous because of their often unpredictable behavior. They can not only rape, but also maim and even kill. Sometimes prudently to cover their tracks, sometimes in a fit of unconscious rage. According to psychologists, sexual maniacs are people with a disturbed psyche. “Maniacs are formed in childhood, most of them are brought up in single-parent families. They rape because they feel the excitement of the hunter, ”says a friend of a psychologist doctor.

Another psychologist, Yuri Irkhin, speaking about a specific case, noted: “The actions of the detainee can be qualified as manic, and not just manic, but the actions of a sexual maniac. The fact is that the actions of serial killers are radically different from manic actions in that the murders are committed with a mercantile purpose, for which they seize property. Manic actions are for the purpose of satisfaction or pleasure, including sexual.” Where do rapists come from? These are genes, and mental disorders, and dissatisfaction with life in general, sexual in particular, and this is anger at the entire female race. It is only difficult to include in this list the “social inequality” so beloved by Soviet propaganda with “two worlds, two ways of life”, because there were enough sex maniacs in all socio-political formations. Well, except that there were significantly fewer of them under dictatorships and authoritarian regimes, which is quite understandable: they were caught - they were executed. Here we come to a very interesting topic: what to do with sex maniacs?

Execution cannot be pardoned

This issue is relevant not only for Ukraine, but for the world as a whole. Indeed, no matter what the scale and cynicism of the crime committed by the "sufferer", the death penalty in our country, and in most countries, does not threaten him. Attempts to re-educate such people end in complete failure. They serve their sentences, then go free and are very often mistaken for the former. What to do?

Here in the UK, the Home Office proposes to introduce voluntary chemical castration for pedophiles and rapists. Sex offenders will be offered injections of special drugs that suppress libido. This measure is mainly directed against maniacs whose victims were small children. The campaign for the introduction of a law against pedophiles began in the UK in 2000 - after the murder of an eight-year-old girl by a pedophile, Roy Whiting. It was then that the public demanded that lists of all sex offenders be made public. By the way, chemical castration for pedophiles and rapists is used in many countries. Moreover, in America there is a law on forced castration, which came into force in the 1990s. According to him, chemical castration can be ordered by a judge if the convicted person relapses into sexual crimes after leaving prison. At the same time, the court cannot punish the rapist with surgical castration, but the defendant can go for it voluntarily.

In France, a campaign was launched in 2005 to improve public safety and prevent recidivism in sexual crimes. The rapists were given cyproterone acetate or monthly injections of leuprorelin. In 2004, a similar campaign was also held in Israel to introduce chemical castration for pedophiles - with the help of the drug "decapeptyl", which, as part of a pilot project of the Israeli Ministry of Health and Prisons, took persons convicted of pedophilia and serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty.

How not to become a victim?

While the court and the case, while we decide on something similar in relation to rapists, maniacs roam our streets and parks, looking for another victim. How not to become one?

According to experts, in the event of a meeting with such people, one must behave very carefully, one cannot resist and measure strength - this turns them on. And even better - before the moment when it may be too late to resist, to bypass a suspicious person.

And if you still couldn't avoid the meeting? Some psychologists advise talking to a maniac in a firm ultimatum form, letting him know that you are not afraid of him. Although, to be honest, it is difficult to imagine how a person can do this, being in such a dangerous position.

Hence the main advice: it is better to try to avoid a situation where there is even the slightest hint of a possible meeting with a maniac.

How to be saved from them? This is told by the doctor of medical sciences, forensic psychologist Mikhail VINOGRADOV.
- Where do maniacs come from, who are they?
- A maniac is a patient with a pathology of the deep structures of the brain. He gets satisfaction from the process itself. As a rule, maniacs, having experienced their sadistic pleasure once, can no longer stop. Even knowing that they are being caught, they will kill again. Many have tendencies towards sadomasochism, but normal people know how to regulate them, to find an acceptable channel for their desires.
- That is, a murder committed “for the sake of pleasure” will necessarily entail the subsequent one?
- If the maniac is not stopped - yes. In my practice, there was a case when the fanatic managed to be neutralized after the very first episode. The young man killed his friend, buried the body, cut off the head, brought it home and roasted it over the stove. He had fun with this head. We found him by chance: the police interrogated all the friends of the missing guy, and went to our hero. While colleagues filled out the protocol, one of the employees decided to find out the source of the sweetish-burnt smell. He went into the bedroom, threw back the blanket ... When the maniac realized that he had been exposed, he grabbed a knife and cut his throat from ear to ear. He was not allowed to die, and he did not cut himself deeply. Then, in conversations with psychiatrists, he shared the two most powerful, pleasant memories: how he slept with his head, and how he cut his own throat.
- What can push such a person to the first crime?
- Often a maniac, executing innocent people, takes revenge for his grievances. For example, a few years ago, in the south-west of Moscow, a lady was operating (among the maniacs there are also women), who brutally killed elderly men. When she was detained, she said that once in the entrance she was attacked and tried to rape just such a citizen.
In general, each such geek has his favorite places and time of murder, his own handwriting. So, the Bitsevsky maniac Pichushkin killed elderly men and inserted some objects, sticks into their crushed heads. Then, however, he got a taste and began to kill everyone who came to hand.
There is an opinion that the Krasnoyarsk maniac, who rapes children, was himself subjected to violence in childhood.
Sometimes the consciousness of a maniac distorts the experienced stress: for example, one of them, with whom I had a chance to work many years ago, killed only boys in white shirts and ironed red ties. It turned out that in childhood he saw how the pioneer got hit by a car. The picture shocked him, and over the years suddenly became attractive and exciting.
Ukrainian murderer Onoprienko set out to lay out a cross with corpses. From eastern to western and from northern to southern borders of Ukraine. A few years after his arrest, he filed a petition for clemency. He was asked: “What are you going to do in the wild?” "Like what? - surprised Onoprienko. - Kill. I need to draw my cross.” The amateur chess player Pichushkin had an obsession: to kill 64 people - as many as there are pieces on the chessboard.
Maniacs strive for fame, are proud of themselves. Therefore, information about one of them can provoke another who wants to outdo his “colleague”, become “even more terrible and bloody”.
- Is it possible to identify a maniac by appearance?
- The only thing that distinguishes them is that all accomplished maniacs from childhood enjoyed the torment of living beings. They brutally dealt with kittens, birds, mocked the weaker younger children. Literally physiological satisfaction they experienced, watching the agony, especially the agony of suffocation.
It is very difficult to identify such criminals. They are found either by chance or due to their mistakes.
- Does the number of such ghouls change over the years?
- Recently, there have been more maniacs. And, unfortunately, according to the forecasts of psychiatrists, their number will only increase. Firstly, the number of alcoholics and drug addicts is growing - it is their children who are often potential maniacs. Secondly, the Internet, computer games, films often cultivate cruelty and aggressiveness in children. While playing, the guys get pleasure from killing. While virtual. But you never know who will “jam” ...
In order to prevent these crimes, I propose to make it mandatory for all people (as once medical examination) psychodiagnostics of personality. Then it is possible to recommend in advance to the person some methods of treatment, stabilization. Human rights activists believe that psychodiagnostics violates human rights. But its absence violates the right of society to self-defense.
Tips for parents:
Don't leave your child alone, even for a minute. Meet him after school and classes.
Talk to your child. Explain that in no case should you enter the entrance, take the elevator or go anywhere with a stranger. You can not accept any treats from strangers.
Teach your child how to attract the attention of passers-by. You need to shout something like: “Help! I do not know this person! I don't want to go anywhere with him!"

I read interesting material about the Bitsevsky maniac. The article also highlights the problems of preventing serial murders in Russia. The text is long, but well-written and to the point. Decided to post.

Relatives and friends of Alexander Pichushkin are perplexed, how did such a terrible monster grow out of an ordinary, obedient boy who was no different from his peers? He was a little hooligan, did not fight with anyone, was a conflict-free and shy child.

Why he became like this is a mystery to me, ”his mother Natalya Pichushkina admitted to Izvestia. - I don’t know at what stage I looked at my son.

However, the psychologists of the Institute. Serbsky are sure that Natalya Edmundovna is disingenuous.

Invisible Man

We have already drawn the attention of readers to the fact that all maniacs have one thing in common: a difficult childhood (see Izvestia, September 5, 2007). Childhood, saturated with loneliness, uselessness and even hatred of their relatives. Pichushkin's grandfather and father were alcoholics. In 1973, when the boy was 9 months old, his father left the family. The mother married a second time, and gave her son to her grandfather. Grandfather soon got tired of his grandson, and he, under the pretext that he was burr, assigned him to a speech therapy boarding school. To say that life in the boarding school was hard for him would be an understatement. Among aggressive children from dysfunctional families (there were mostly such children in the boarding school), he withdrew and completely went into his fantasies.

When Sasha Pichushkin came home for the weekend, the holiday didn't work either. He saw that all the love and attention of this house belonged to his younger sister - half-sister, from his stepfather. Outwardly, Sasha remained a loving and obedient boy. But did he justify his mother and grandfather in his soul? He wanted to please his loved ones, and sometimes he even succeeded. Once, when Sasha was already older, his mother bought him a moped. He went for a ride, but an hour later he returned beaten. And no moped.

However, there is one more circumstance that could affect Pichushkin's psyche. When he was 3 years old, he fell off a swing and ended up in the hospital with a head injury. It was after that that he began to confuse hissing sounds and at school even in a letter instead of "sh" he wrote "s". According to the theory of the famous psychiatrist Alexander Bukhanovsky (it was he who figured out Chikatilo at one time), people with sadistic inclinations had craniocerebral injuries in the past. If areas of the brain in the frontal and temporal parts die off, the person becomes extremely aggressive. The temporal region is responsible for worldview, morality, ethics, and the frontal region is responsible for inhibition.

However, the psychologists of the Institute. Serbsky believe that the environment still more influenced the formation of Pichushkin's personality.

In the footsteps of an idol

Growing up, Pichushkin changed before our eyes. From a downtrodden kid, he turns into an aggressive teenager. Primary school students complained to teachers that they were beaten by high school students, but Pichushkin was especially atrocious. The teachers did not believe: "It can't be! The quietest, the most obedient, the best..."

And he really was like that, ”psychologist Mikhail Vinogradov, a member of the commission for examining Pichushkin, tells Izvestia. - And Chikatilo was an exemplary family man and an excellent teacher at school. But in the family and at school - one thing, and on the street - another. Both of them outside the home were extremely cruel. During the examination, they showed me a video filmed by one of Pichushkin's comrades. There he was fourteen years old. The unbelted teenager showed his peers how to kill. He grabbed some little boy by the legs and began to intimidate that he would break his head. At the same time, both his gestures and facial expressions were of a typical sadist.

From the age of fifteen, his mother and teachers began to notice that the quiet Sasha began to have terrible fits of rage. But it never occurred to either of them to take the teenager to the doctor.

In the construction vocational school-66, the future killer studied as a carpenter. Here Pichushkin ceased to be an invisible man and tried with all his might to stand out. Played a superman - even bought army boots with high lacing. Defiantly looked after the girls, but their relationship did not go beyond this. Perhaps, even then, male weakness affected, and this, of course, became one of the factors in the mutation of his character. Pichushkin even began to write poetry, but this, like everything else, caused only a hail of ridicule. To ingratiate himself with his classmates, Pichushkin easily gave loans. But he immediately demanded a receipt: "I am leaving life voluntarily, because it is meaningless." The boys easily gave him such receipts, making fun of his threats. "Why do you need it?" they asked. Pichushkin explained that if a comrade did not return the debt, he would kill him, and the police would consider it a suicide.

The turning point in the life of the future maniac was the army draft. "They'll take it away, they'll take it away. I don't mind," he told his mother. But a psychiatrist from the medical board sent him for examination to the hospital. Kashchenko.

It was after the hospital that something broke in him, - recalls Natalia Pichushkina. What they did with him, I don't know. Maybe they pricked something. He didn't say anything himself. But he returned from there some not like that.

Pichushkin was declared unfit for combat due to psychopathy. The mother was warned that the disease would progress, the young man needed a more thorough examination and, possibly, treatment. But the mother did not believe the doctors. After the hospital, Pichushkin began to swing hard. He got a job as a loader in a store and was polite and efficient there. Probably, even then, a plan for future murders had formed in his head, and he was often found in the back room, when he furiously shredded empty boxes with a knife. Like his father and grandfather, Pichushkin began to drink. This did not bring him joy - he threw several times, again starting to swing, but broke down. When he went into a binge, he did not crawl to the apartment. He fell at the entrance and waited for his mother to return from work and drag him into the house.

The trial of Chikatilo completed the case. Pichushkin collected newspaper clippings, wore plaid shirts, in which the idol walked. When in 1992 the maniac was sentenced to death, calling him the bloodiest of serial killers, Pichushkin was furious and told his friends that he was actually the bloodiest killer. Friends rolled with laughter. Pichushkin became furious and on the same day suggested to Mikhail Odiychuk: "Let's also start killing like Chikatilo!" The friend replied: "Come on!" - and laughed. Pichushkin realized that even a close friend did not take him seriously. A few days later, he strangled Odiychuk in the forest. Thus began the bloody path of the Bitsevsky maniac, which was stopped only after 15 years.

Experts are sure that Pichushkin's transformation into a non-human could and should have been stopped as early as childhood. All that was required for this was the attention of parents, teachers and educators.

What came out of it is natural, - psychologist Mikhail Vinogradov comments. - Youthful aggression is the result of childhood grievances. And again, no one paid attention to this, although everyone saw that something was wrong. After Pichushkin was examined in the hospital, he definitely needed to be treated. But the mother did not give her consent.

It is noteworthy that Pichushkin believes in an afterlife and is convinced that Chikatilo is watching him from the other world and rejoices in his "successes". And the killer also believes that when he passes into another world, his victims will gather around him and will revere him as a god.

To catch, maniacs need to be caught

The psychiatrists who examined Pichushkin after his arrest admitted that the maniac turned out to be a limited person, with the level of thinking of a 14-year-old spoiled boy.

It's an illusion that maniacs are smart, quirky and elusive," a specialist from the commission told Izvestiya. - They are all limited and underdeveloped. The manifestation of malice is revenge for weakness and for insults inflicted in childhood. Pichushkin is no exception. He turned out to be even more cowardly than others - he killed homeless people and drunkards, whom he pumped up with alcohol and who could not resist.

So why did Pichushkin take so long to catch? Izvestia has already written in detail about a whole chain of episodes when he, it would seem, would inevitably have been seized (see Izvestia, October 30, 2007). But to catch, you need to catch! Horror: there was no "law enforcement officer" who guessed to compare the number of bodies carried out by the sewerage (and there were 29 of them!) And the number of people missing in the neighboring area. In addition, criminologists did not examine the bodies very carefully and wrote in their conclusions that craniocerebral injuries in those caught from the river may have been obtained when falling from hitting a curb. Because of this, no criminal cases were initiated.

Fatal were the actions of the district police officer Kalashnikov, who persuaded Marina Viricheva, who survived after Pichushkin's attack, to hide what had happened. Sorry for the cynicism, but it sounds something like this: saved, dear? Survived? Is the maniac scary? Well, now go back with God through the same forest.

A criminal case has been initiated against Kalashnikov, he will be tried. But is it correct and far-sighted to admit only his guilt in the fact that Pichushkin was at large for so long?

And the fact that the existence of a serial killer in law enforcement was recognized only when he himself began to leave identification marks (for stupid and lazy) approximately after the 35th victim. Prior to that, there were only a few unsolved murders.

In the case of Pichushkin, the whole system failed. Starting from the coordination of actions between units and ending with the act of the district police officer Kalashnikov. After all, he was responsible for reporting to the police and for his comrades: he did not want to let down his native district, which would receive another "hanging" on his balance sheet.

Okay, at the lessons of the Bitsevsky maniac, we will not re-educate the entire police force. But there is a real prospect: without the creation of special units whose task is to study and predict the behavior of a maniac, a breakthrough cannot be achieved. Because there are no guarantees that among the thousands of unsolved cases throughout Russia there are no similar "series" murders. And the question of creating such units, of creating a system to prevent chains of murders, has been on the agenda for a long time.

Officially, serial killers appeared in the USSR in the mid-1970s. At the same time, a wave of serial murders was sweeping the United States. The Americans are creating a behavioral department at the FBI (from English - behavior). It was headed by the famous psychologist John Douglas - he was "written off" the image of Jack Crawford, Clarissa Sterling's boss in the movie "The Silence of the Lambs". The department quickly made progress: thanks to the "psychoprofile method", serial killer David Carpenter was caught. Behind him are many others. Now the behavioral department has reached such heights that its employees can not only make a psychological portrait of the killer, but also quite accurately describe his appearance.

And what do we have? No centralized system for catching maniacs has been formed. They are entrusted to study them by the Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but so far they are limited to collecting newspaper clippings on the topic. In 1992, the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of Russia, looking at the success of overseas colleagues, tried to centralize the departments for catching serial killers and even created a program to develop search psychological portraits of criminals. In 1994, it cheerfully reported to the country that the criminal investigation department was armed with automated systems "Violence" and "Dossier". In addition, the automated information retrieval system "Monster" was put into service, which should recreate the appearance of a maniac.

But the introduction of these systems did not bring serious results. Maniacs are caught by investigators and the opera "on the ground" without any science.

Now there are not even individual investigators who would deal with purely serial murders, - Maria Chubarova, a former senior investigator of the criminal investigation department, explains to Izvestia. - Each investigator of the "killer" department has so many cases that he does not know what to take on. Only if he sees that the murders are similar, he combines the cases into one, and the management already decides whether or not to qualify the murders as a series. If seriality is clearly seen, then the information goes to all divisions, up to the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation. But you can notice the similarities within the same ATS. It is already problematic to obtain information on similar murders from the neighboring area. There is no common database. And in order to uncover such murders, access is needed not only to all "criminal" archives, but also to the medical records of all psychiatric clinics.

In the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it seems that everyone is aware of this. For the third year now, the creation of a single information and telecommunications data bank of search, forensic and fingerprint records has been going on. It is assumed that every policeman, wherever he is, will be able to receive systematized data at any time. Maybe this will help to reveal connections that are currently unavailable to them.

Police fear more than perverts

But to blame only law enforcement agencies for the fact that Pichushkin walked free for so long is a big delusion.

Sometimes we have to let clear criminals go, because we can't find witnesses, - complain to Izvestia in the Internal Affairs Directorate of the North-Western district of the capital. - Two months ago, we detained a pedophile on Demyan Bedny Street. And the children helped to catch him. He pestered them behind the garages with obscene proposals. The kid took it on a mobile phone and brought the picture to the police. We took it. But now we can't find a single witness. Parents, under fear of a belt, forbade their children to testify. Don't hesitate - they will drag you!

In the same United States, no one considers it shameful to turn to the population for help, - they argue in the Department of Threat Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. - There, if one person breaks the law, and the other reports it to the police - this is not considered snitching. A person who violates the order is regarded as creating inconvenience. And serial killers are caught all over the world.

This idea is absolutely banal. But at the trial it suddenly turned out: some of Pichushkin's neighbors guessed that the murders of old people in Bitsevsky Park were the work of his hands. One of the witnesses stated at the trial: after the disappearance of Fedorov's neighbor, it was said in the entrance that Pichushkin most likely killed him.

When he and Pichushkin were heading into the forest, they met Fyodorova's sister, who later told everyone about it. Including the police, - said the witness.

And one episode in general makes you shudder. Pichushkin's 31-year-old neighbor Konstantin Polikarpov was also attacked by a maniac. He managed to survive. But he lost his memory. However, his neighbors believe that Konstantin is disingenuous.

He remembered everything, - one of the witnesses assured me. - I was just afraid to tell the police. Pichushkin would still not have been imprisoned, but he would have broken his head.

If Polikarpov "had been in memory", more than forty lives could have been saved. If Pichushkin's neighbors had told the police about their suspicions, even more could have been saved. Yes, passive, cowardly people. But, honestly, we would not go to the police either. Not because it's none of our business, but out of fear of running into a district police officer Kalashnikov, who does not want to deal with "unfounded suspicions." It's a vicious circle. But it is necessary to tear it, so as not to pay with blood and lives.

Statistics on serial murders were closed, "so as not to worry the population"

Most maniacs in the United States. Over the past hundred years, 86 people have been punished there. In second place is England - 28 maniacs. Third place is shared by Germany and Australia: convicted of 10 murderers. In Russia, until recently, statistics on serial murders were kept. It is known that until 1998, on average, 20-27 criminal cases per year were opened for serial murders. However, by 2002, 205 criminal cases had already been initiated, and in 2003 - 350. After that, the statistics became closed. This was decided at a meeting at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2003. It turns out that for our own good - with the wording: "So as not to disturb the population.">

How to be saved from them? This is told by the doctor of medical sciences, forensic psychologist Mikhail VINOGRADOV.

The rating of the most famous serials is regularly updated. The “brand” is considered to be the never caught Jack the Ripper, who in the summer of 1888 kept the whole of London at bay, despite the fact that he hunted only prostitutes, and only seven prostitutes became his victims. Hundreds of articles, dozens of books have been written on this subject, films have been made, and independent investigations have been carried out. At least a dozen people were seriously considered suspects, including an Irish sea captain, a London butcher, a Russian doctor, respectable artist Walter Seeker, Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll, and even Queen Victoria's grandson the Duke of Clarence.

Charles Manson, successfully caught and still serving his life sentence, was not a maniac as such. He is the founder and leader of the youth fraternal community Family. In 1969, some members of the Family committed a series of ruthless murders. The loudest and bloodiest was the murder of Sharon Tate, the pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski. Manson himself still denies his guilt and sculpts clay figures in his cell.

Harold Shipman. Doctor Death. Killed for 23 years. During this time, he sent 215 people to the next world: they were mostly elderly people, his patients. In 2004, he committed suicide by hanging himself on the sheets in his cell.

Andrei Chikatilo, a native of the Sumy region. He killed and tormented his victims (mostly boys) terribly. Sentenced to death for 52 premeditated murders. Received the nickname of a maniac from the forest belt. Chikatilo's son Yuri served two times for criminal offenses. Including - for torture.

Anatoly Onoprienko has killed more than 50 people over the years of wandering around Ukraine. Cold-bloodedly, ruthlessly, and most often quite senselessly, he destroyed entire families. In connection with the moratorium on the death penalty introduced in Ukraine, he is serving a life sentence in Zhytomyr Prison No. 8. Onopriyenko is in solitary confinement with an area of eight square meters. Reads books: science fiction, detective stories and adventures. Relatives do not support relations with him. The government spends $17 a month on food for Onoprienko...

Sergey Tkach is the so-called "Pavlograd maniac". Has committed murder since 1981. Arrested in 2005. On his account there were more than 70 corpses. It is noteworthy that for all 25 years the police did not suspect the series, and in each individual case they were looking for different criminals. Often mistakenly arresting the wrong suspects. Sentenced to life imprisonment.

Ruslan Khamarov. From May 2002 to September 2003, the former police officer committed 18 premeditated murders, including 11 women. Nicknamed "Berdyansk maniac." Sentenced two years ago to life imprisonment.

Sergey Dovzhenko. Former policeman from Mariupol. Committed 19 murders. Also sentenced to life imprisonment a year ago.

Andrey Yurkin. Mordovian maniac, murderer and rapist. The total number of victims is unknown. It is believed that there are about 15 of them. On July 22, 1996, the Supreme Court of Mordovia sentenced him to death, but the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, recognizing the murderer's guilt as proven, replaced the death penalty with 15 years in prison. The most incomprehensible and blatant example of the "kindness" of judges.

Alexander Pichushkin. "Bitzevsky Maniac". Charged with 49 murders and three attempted murders. The case is now being considered in a Moscow court with a jury in an open regime. The court appointed the selection of the collegium for September 13.

Victor Saenko and Igor Suprunyuk. Alexander Ganzha - Dnipropetrovsk majors who killed 19 people for fun. They are under investigation.

The above examples are by no means an exhaustive list of maniacs of modern times. In total, their number is in the hundreds, if not thousands. Judging by media reports, in recent years the world has undergone a real invasion of serials. If earlier they were individual people with unhealthy changes, now they are ordinary citizens, like Dnepropetrovsk youths who beat several people to death a day and even cut open the stomach of one of the victims - a pregnant woman.

How to be saved from them? Russian forensic psychologist Doctor of Medical Sciences Mikhail Vinogradov believes that a maniac is a patient with a pathology of the deep structures of the brain.

In his opinion, the maniac, executing innocent people, takes revenge for his grievances.

So, the above-mentioned Bitsa maniac Pichushkin killed elderly men and inserted some objects, sticks into their crushed heads. Then, however, he got a taste and began to kill everyone who came to hand. “Sometimes the consciousness of a maniac distorts the experienced stress,” Vinogradov says, “one of the killers with whom I had a chance to work many years ago killed only boys in white shirts and ironed red ties. It turned out that in childhood he saw how the pioneer got hit by a car. The picture shocked him, and over the years suddenly became attractive and exciting.

However, there is another problem. All maniacs are vain. As a rule, these are people who have not taken place in any area, secretly dreaming of glory. Even if it's about the glory of the killers. In violence, they not only get physical pleasure (up to orgasms), but also savor their strength. Paradoxically, many of them perceive the arrests with joy, realizing that now they will be written and talked about a lot.

Indeed, the details of the attacks of maniacs are diligently savored by the yellow press, and there are no countries left where respectable citizens, especially women and children, could feel completely safe. This thesis is especially clearly confirmed by the “Dnepropetrovsk phenomenon” - ordinary prosperous guys become maniacs of the new generation, without the typical complexes of a “failed loner”.

Today, television is becoming the actual educator of the younger generation. By the number of scenes of violence, TV channels simply harden. But it is known that in adolescence a person is very susceptible to what he sees. The corruption of children also has an effect by prematurely enlightening them on all forbidden topics.

At the same time, in the traditions of all times and peoples, it was accepted that the child was not initiated into the topics of intimate life in general, especially by adults, but only warned. In man, natural bashfulness and shyness were welcomed in every possible way. Parents and educators especially tried to “get around” this topic in conversations with the child. In this regard, all “forbidden” topics outside of marriage were initially associated with a person either with something not subject to public display, or as a sinful manifestation. Thus, the prerequisites were created for the formation of sexuality in the right direction: when a child began to awaken interest in the opposite sex, the very “forbiddenness” of this topic made him tightly control his feelings and, if possible, not go “beyond”.

Not surprisingly, in the "traditional society" maniacs were rare. Among some peoples living in a traditional society, it is still believed that any sex outside of marriage is vicious in itself, and those who “lost their chastity” before marriage (by the way, of both sexes) are subjected to abstraction and condemnation, not to mention any perverts and maniacs.

However, in the so-called civilized society, there are no taboo topics left. Moreover, if for England of the century before last, the prostitutes who were killed by Jack the Ripper were the symbol of "licentiousness", then for modern maniacs these are ordinary respectable women. They believe that all "women are equally vicious." Therefore, they can be killed.

In addition, in a traditional society, any person, even pathological inclinations, is connected by many family, blood and other ties with people of a normal orientation and a normal worldview. Network structures of perverts, as a rule, already appear in the information society.

After all, earlier the same homosexuals or pedophiles and other representatives of the sexual minority could not freely communicate, or it was difficult for them. A person who, apparently, revealed his unconventional sexual inclinations, was immediately considered an outcast, and he was treated with caution. Now the bugger can live happily in society, without attracting much attention to himself among neighbors, colleagues and even relatives. "Blue" - yes, blue. But to hell with them! Human rights are above all.

We do not argue with the last postulate, but the problem is that the deeper liberalism, the more taboos are removed, the more urgent is the danger of the emergence of maniacs.

It is extremely difficult, almost impossible to keep track of the birth of the next serial. Therefore, it is easy to miss the moment when the perverted psyche of such a person begins to incline him to criminal acts.

It has been noted that, as a rule, exposed maniacs are people who are largely hidden, who had little contact with their relatives, “carried everything in themselves”, were not sincere with others, but were often brought up on bloody films and television programs. Some even imitated famous horror movie characters.

In addition, as a rule, maniacs are characterized by high conceit about their talents and painfully hurt pride. Not being able to realize themselves in any area, they begin to “maniac”, and the very resonance from the crimes they have committed gives them pleasure. However, we have already talked about this.

How to deal with maniacs? Unfortunately, police measures will not help here. And the fault here is not the “elusiveness” of maniacs, but the fact that a corresponding background has been created in society, all taboos have been removed, murder is viewed as a game: computer, cinematic, real.

There is another side of the coin, which is not customary to talk about. Sometimes victims of violence provoke aggression towards themselves by their behavior. And again - these are, as a rule, persons who are mentally unstable, wanting "something hot." And demand, of course, gives rise to "supply".

The most typical example: in one of the Western countries (I don’t remember which one) they interviewed women who had been subjected to brutal violence. And more than half of them could not clearly explain why and for what reason they ended up in the place where the violence occurred. That is, in a peculiar way, victims and maniacs are looking for each other. Moreover, the victims of maniacs themselves are sometimes something like gambling masochists who find a special charm in tempting fate. True, until such time as they fall into the clutches of the serial.
