Junkers gas water heater. Geysers Junkers. What to do if the geyser goes out for other reasons

Junkers gas water heater. Geysers Junkers. What to do if the geyser goes out for other reasons

Now the time has come to write an article not about computers and 1Ski, but about gas repair Bosch speakers/Junkers WR13.
Who would have thought that an IT specialist would climb there. It’s somehow customary that such things happen in the department gas companies and without special knowledge it is better not to disassemble them. In fact, there is nothing terrible there, and with more or less straight hands, you can do it yourself. Moreover, there is a crisis in the country and you want to save money.
It all started when the speaker stopped going out when turned off hot water, I had to run and turn off the gas manually.
Googling suggested that two main blocks are responsible for this: hydraulic fittings (water unit) and gas fittings. They are connected together in such a way that when water is supplied, the water unit, using a membrane pressing on the pin, presses on gas valve, thereby opening the gas supply. When the water is turned off, the gas valve closes. In general, the problem is somewhere here! (number 14 in the picture)

So let's get started...
Here is our patient:

All we need is 2 screwdrivers (Phillips and flathead) and a wrench to unscrew the nut securing the water pipe.
For safety, we will cut off the water and gas supply to the apartment.
Filming protective cover by unscrewing the two screws from below:

We get access to the internals:

We remove the bracket securing the water supply pipe to the heat exchanger:

We take out the pipe itself:

Unscrew the two screws securing the water unit to the gas fittings:

And then I saw a picture of oxides at the attachment point. The mechanism was blown apart and water leaked out. The metal oxidized and began to jam the gas valve (it stopped returning to initial position). This is the reason for not turning off the gas supply!
Let's try to clean everything up as much as possible and develop the valve itself:

It should press inward and return to its original position.
Now let's look at the water block itself:

We take out the bracket and take out the flow regulator (sleeve with a spring):

Unscrew the bolts and remove the water unit cover:

Underneath we see a worn membrane:

And the lid itself has fallen apart over time (column on this moment 7 years):

As it turned out, spare parts for gas water heaters are not so easy to find. And the prices for them, frankly speaking, are outrageous. With the price of a new Bosch Junkers GWH 13 P (WR13-2 P2) speaker – 10,000 rubles. I found the cheapest membrane in the city (code 8700503083) for 1,400 rubles. and water fitting cover WR10, 11, 13, 15 (code 8705500105) for RUB 2,400. Total 3600 rub. More expensive than a third of the column. So before you start repairing, think about whether it is necessary. But it was already too late... the column was disassembled and I didn’t want to install a new one, so I decided to continue what I started! (although I almost freaked out and didn’t go for a new Chinese one for the same money)
The picture shows old and new parts. The difference is immediately visible:

Now we install a new membrane and water valve cover, assembling everything in the reverse order:

Hooray. Everything worked out for me. Now the flame lights up and goes out as it should!
What do you want to say in the end?! When I was puzzled by the choice of column 7 years ago, Junkers were praised as the most reliable and repairable. I find it difficult to say whether 7 years is a lot or a little for reliability, although the old Soviet ones still work for people and at least they care! But at such prices for spare parts, this maintainability is not needed. Now I would choose the cheapest Neva or Chinese Oasis for 4-5 thousand rubles and if it breaks, I would simply throw it away without worrying and install a new one for the price of repairing this Junkers/Bosch. One hope is that this prevention will allow the column to work for at least as long...
And finally, for those who don’t understand the pictures, I’ll give you a link to a video on disassembling Bosch/Junkers gas burners from the company Teplotekhnika St. Petersburg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2aIn93fyQ8

Why one article at once about speakers from two different brands, Junkers and Bosch? At its core Junkers speakers WR-11 and Bosch WR-10 are the same speaker. They have slight differences in the body and handles. For example, on Junkers dispensers you can find a tap that is attached to a water block and is sold together with the dispenser. This is where the differences, in general, end. Inside the case there is the same filling. Both speakers are semi-automatic and have proven themselves well for their simplicity, maintainability, and the price of new products. They have been very popular in Russia for a long time. You can do the repair of these geysers yourself using my step by step instructions showdown.

How does this column work? In order to light it, you need to set the slider on the front panel to the middle position and press on it. Thus, we forcibly open the electromagnetic gas valve and supply gas to the igniter (wick) of the gas water heater. In order for the gas to ignite, it must be ignited with a piezoelectric element, which is located in the lower left corner of the gas column. After the spark has ignited the gas coming out of the wick (igniter), you must continue to hold the slider button pressed for 10 to 40 seconds. At this time, the column thermocouple is heated. Then release the slider, the wick should continue to burn without pressing. If this does not happen, then you must repeat the entire procedure from the beginning. If the igniter does not light up, then most likely the column requires repair or maintenance, cleaning the wick (igniter). After the thermocouple has warmed up, it generates an EMF, which independently holds the electromagnetic gas valve of the column in the open position. The column is ready for use. All that remains is to set the gas flow rate you need using the slider and the water flow rate on the water block.

What happens when you open the hot water tap of the mixer? Everything else is simple. The membrane of the water block presses on the rod, which in turn opens the mechanical gas valve, and gas is supplied to the main burner of the Bosch (Junkers) column. Gas mixture ignites from the burning igniter wick and heats the water that flows through the radiator of the gas water heater.

1.Remove the handle from the water block, set the gas regulator slider to the middle position, unscrew the two self-tapping screws from the bottom of the speaker body (on Junkers there may just be snap-clips) and remove the body.

2. Unscrew the two self-tapping screws securing the cap of the gas exhaust device to the body of the column and two self-tapping screws on the strip attached to the cap, which secures the radiator (heat exchanger) of the gas column.

3. Remove draft sensor 1 (it is located on the right side of the smoke exhaust hood), disconnect the wires from it. Remove temperature sensor 2 from the heat exchanger by disconnecting the automation wires from it. Here Junkers and Bosch have slight differences. For Bosch, the wires from the traction sensor are removed, for Junkers they are soldered. Don't try to remove them - you'll only break them.

4. Next, nothing prevents us from disconnecting the gas exhaust cap from the heat exchanger (radiator) and the column body.

5. To remove the heat exchanger, it is necessary to remove the threaded pipe from the left pipe of the heat exchanger, having first removed the latch. Instead of removing the threaded pipe, you can unscrew the hot water hose from it. From the right branch pipe of the heat exchanger, you need to remove the tube that connects the heat exchanger to the water block of the gas water heater. It is also attached to a latch; after removing the latter, it can be removed. Rubber rings are used as seals in both pipes. They often leak after disassembly and reassembly, because... rubber ages and dries out. It must be disassembled carefully. When assembling, I advise you to change the rubber bands; in any case, lubricate the pipes during assembly.

6. Nothing prevents us from removing the heat exchanger. Although... Bosch has back wall The housing is stamped with two brackets for the heat exchanger. It is better to bend them upward. They are not particularly needed and do not affect anything. After this, remove the geyser heat exchanger upwards.

7. Disconnect the pilot tube from the burner. It is secured on top with a bracket like this (if it hasn’t been thrown out before you) and in the area of the jet it is secured in a latch. Use a screwdriver to pry up the tube in the area of the latch and remove it from the grooves at the top.

8. Behind the igniter tube there is a ceramic ignition electrode. It is also attached with a quick-release latch and can be easily removed.

9. In order to remove the burner, we unscrew a pair of screws that secure the burner to the body of the gas water heater, and a pair of screws that secure the burner in the gas block of the water heater. Next, gently press the thermocouple down with a screwdriver so that it comes out of the burner body. You can stagger the burner upwards from the gas block.

10. To clean the burner, we disassemble it into parts. To do this we need to unscrew 4 screws. We separate the two parts of the burner from the gas train.

Actually, the disassembly of the column is completed. For maintenance (cleaning) this is quite enough. Gas block Usually it doesn’t break if no one has climbed there. There's nothing to do there. This is a factory product. If necessary, you can also remove the water block and disassemble it to replace the membrane or oil seal cover.

We carefully wipe the disassembled elements, rinse them from dust, soot and other deposits.

Particular attention to the heat exchanger. I wash it both outside and inside with chemicals or a solution of citric acid. By the way, it really eats away scale and rust from the inside. If the water is from a well with increased hardness, then this simply must be done every time. maintenance, because it becomes overgrown from the inside so that it is impossible to blow it out with a compressor. Scale and soot impair heat transfer, increase gas consumption, and can lead to heat exchanger failure. Burnt-out heat exchangers on these columns are rare, but those clogged with soot are very common. Both the Bosch and Junkers water heaters begin to heat the water poorly. Usually, all these “shoals” emerge at the beginning of winter, when water through the pipes begins to flow colder than in summer.

Dust accumulates in the burner, which enters the apparatus with air, and combustion products fall onto the openings from above. You can’t clean the burner in this column without disassembling it, so drive away all those who suggest you clean the column with a vacuum cleaner—they’re freeloaders!

Thoroughly clean the thermocouple of carbon deposits and soot. I have not encountered any burnt thermocouples on these columns. It is better to wipe the insulator of the piezo ignition electrode from carbon deposits and dirt with alcohol, no matter how much it sticks onto the body. Thoroughly blow out any dust from the igniter tube. Most often, because of this dirt in the tube, the wick becomes weak, smokes, does not heat the thermocouple well, and the column may go out and not ignite. Cleaning the tube usually solves the problem and the column wick lights up. Ideally, the pilot flame should be blue color and hit the thermocouple horizontally. If the wick flame is yellow and the large “tongue” goes up, the igniter clearly needs to be cleaned.

Now about malfunctions of Junkers and Bosh speakers

  1. As I wrote above, the column is assembled on rubber o-rings. With old speakers they become stiff and the seals begin to leak. It’s good if the master has them. You often come across different collective farm options from windings to sealants.
  2. Water block membrane, as opposed to membranes Chinese speakers, works for a very long time. I encountered a torn membrane once. The price of the original membrane is about 1800 rubles, the Chinese equivalent costs around 400 rubles. Who will find it? There is no point in the original, because the prices are astronomical.
  3. The assembled geyser water block costs around 4500-5000 rubles. The price is high. For sale repair kits seals. You can sort out the water block yourself. Often the flow regulator leaks at the block. This can be treated by replacing the O-ring.
  4. It is rare, but leakage of the water block rod seal occurs. Unfortunately, the oil seal cannot be replaced separately. Replaces with water block cover. The price of the cap with a rod is 2700 rubles. Very expensive!
  5. On Junkers (Junkers) the traction sensor and overheating sensor are often tormented. Sometimes it’s so painful that I change the entire set of thermocouple and sensors. If changing the automation was not part of the plan, then you can painlessly short-circuit the temperature sensor (many imported gas water heaters do not have one at all). I don’t recommend short-circuiting the traction sensor, something that is clearly needed and has saved more than one life. It stops the gas supply to the column if there is no draft in the chimney. You can short-circuit it for a while, so as not to sit without hot water, and only in order to quickly find a replacement for it.

If you decide to buy such a speaker, then read the reviews on the useful website “Otzovik”. There, everyone described their column and gave ratings. My review is quite old. http://otzovik.com/review_1713020.html

Now I would give this column a solid B+. I recommend buying. Usually everything can be repaired without spare parts. Among the “disadvantages” of the speaker, I would like to note the high price of spare parts. Luckily they don't break often.

If anyone is interested, I’m posting instructions here for Bosch and Junkers gas water heaters

That's all for me in a nutshell. It’s up to you to climb into the column yourself, or call me.

I hope the article was useful to you in some way.

The device has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include the following characteristics:

  • equipped with flame modulation;
  • increased security;
  • adaptability for use in Russia;
  • wonderful appearance.

Thanks to its design, Junkers will fit perfectly into any interior. The device operates at a gas pressure of 13 Mbar. This pressure is present in all gas pipelines in Russian homes. If we compare it with European pressure (20 Mbar), then it is significantly lower, which creates problems when purchasing other geysers. The device operates effectively in a multi-storey building, where the pressure in the water supply system is very low (works from 0.1 ATM.)

Junkers has increased security and low cost in comparison with their analogues. When the water pressure changes, the device will automatically select the power at which water heating will be optimal. The device is assembled by German designers and has a 2-year warranty. At correct installation and operation, the device can last more than 13 years.

Among the disadvantages are the fact that most modifications of Junkers geysers are present increased level noise. During operation of the device, problems appear with the heat exchanger and leaks in the seals, which creates a risk of damage flooring under the gas water heater or completely flood your neighbors.

Junkers speaker design

  • Semi-automatic- the company began producing speakers back in 1968. During operation, a pilot burner is used. Ignition is carried out using a piezoelectric element. The main burner turns on when the DHW tap is opened.
  • Automatic - powered by batteries or a hydrogenerator. The series includes simple Junkers geysers with an open combustion chamber, and multifunctional models with modulated power. The performance of the burner varies depending on the water pressure.

Possible faults

Of course, the operation of any equipment does not always go smoothly; you should be prepared for anything. Fortunately, a significant part of the possible malfunctions that occur with a Junkers geyser can be easily resolved on your own.

There are actually many reasons why the burner does not light.

  • It may turn out that both the inlet and outlet pipes were initially installed incorrectly. In addition, the water supply may be disrupted.
  • Possible problems with traction. When the chimney is dirty, combustion products do not escape, but accumulate inside, which slows down the operation of the equipment. Cravings also suffer due to the lack fresh air, for example, when the window is closed.
  • It happens that the chimney becomes blocked, and this creates a potentially dangerous situation. We urgently need to turn off Junkers and call specialists.
  • If the pilot flame goes out, this indicates that the protective relay requires replacement.
  • It may simply turn out that the burner does not light because the battery is discharged, and therefore the automatic ignition system does not function. You will have to disassemble the front panel and charge it yourself or replace the battery.
  • Low pressure in the main leads to poor water supply, which again leads to operational problems.
  • The wick goes out when the flame is uneven. As a result, the main burner also turns off. To solve this problem, simply clean the device.

Sometimes the Junkers speaker does not light up, and sometimes the device turns itself off.

  • The first reason is that the batteries have become unusable.
  • The second reason is that it is necessary to change the membrane, which has become deformed or torn. It's good when the repair kit contains a replacement.
  • Next possible variant The problem is that one of the control sensors does not work or the microswitch is worn out, this can be determined by the absence of a characteristic click.

In addition, the igniter may become clogged from the inside, which can be easily fixed by cleaning. An abundance of rust, dirt in filters due to poor quality water and electrodes leads to similar consequences. Finally, improper installation, a closed valve on a gas pipeline, and problems with wires are also common causes of service interruptions.

There are several more common cases. If there is no spark in a device with auto-start, then perhaps there is no ionization current, which means water is not flowing. The spark goes out when the flame controller is broken. If the column does not heat water, then the reason may be perforation of the water block membrane, contamination of the tubes or improper assembly, but most often - a breakdown of the heat exchanger.

When the water heater makes excessive sounds and gets hot, this indicates that the radiator is broken or clogged with scale.

A leaking housing is a consequence of problems with the heat exchanger or seal.

You can learn how to light a Junkers gas water heater from the video below.

Common breakdowns

Often the device breaks down due to improper use. It happens that this happens due to corrosion, poor water quality and surges electrical voltage. If a defect is discovered after purchase, it will be repaired free of charge at the service center.

Paid repairs will cost approximately 1,500 rubles. The price depends on the complexity of the breakdown. It is recommended to take the device to the service yourself in order to save on delivery or calling a private technician. The most common malfunctions are:

  • water leak;
  • overheat;
  • the occurrence of loud sounds emanating from the device;
  • the water does not heat up;
  • The sensor stopped working.

Basically, these breakdowns occur due to the formation of a large layer of scale. In order to repair the device yourself, you need to determine the cause, purchase original spare parts, follow the recommendations of specialists and study the basic rules for repairing this type of boiler.

After repairs, you must make sure that all fastenings of the device are correctly secured and that no gas leaks occur during operation. Repairing the device yourself is only permitted if you have similar experience. Only use original spare parts purchased from Bosch.

Signs that the wick igniter is not working properly and why it goes out

In columns with piezo ignition, the igniter must burn constantly, because when the hot water tap opens, it must ignite the main burner. The extinguishing of the igniter disconnects the column from the gas supply so that gas does not accumulate inside the device.

The pilot light may go out if:

  • It is clogged with debris or dust.
  • A flow of air acted on him from outside.
  • The thermocouple has burnt out or worn out.
  • There is no draft in the chimney.
  • The traction sensor has failed.
  • Broken solenoid valve.
  • No air access.

If the gas water heater does not turn on at all, read another article.

Most common cause If the igniter fails, it is called a faulty thermocouple. Its main function is to block gas access to the column if the device is operating unstably. As soon as the pilot light goes out, the thermocouple detects the lack of heat and gives a signal to turn off the gas. However, if the thermocouple itself is damaged, it causes the wick to fade.

An equally common situation is when dust or some kind of debris gets into the igniter nozzles. Their diameter is very small, so even slight contamination can prevent the igniter from burning, resulting in the thermocouple not heating up enough.

The color of its flame indicates that there are problems with the igniter and it may go out at any moment. A normally functioning wick will have a flame that is 90% blue and may include some red flecks, and the tip may be yellow. If the pilot flame is predominantly yellow or orange, the wick is not working properly and the thermocouple will not heat up enough, causing the burner to go out.

About others possible reasons For igniter damping, see the following video.

The principle of operation of the gas water heater

To better understand the reasons why a geyser may go out, you need to understand the operating principle of such a device. Only after studying the essence of the process of heating water with a similar device can you talk about its malfunctions.

Before you start using the gas water heater, you must read the instructions

There are many manufacturers producing geysers. These are the world-famous expensive Bosch and Zerten, and more budget analogues such as Oasis, Vector, Neva Lux 5514, Beretta, Avangard, Astra, Mora speakers. In any case, the basic operating principle of all the above models is the same. The only thing is that there are automatic and semi-automatic speakers, but the difference between them is insignificant.

Main elements of a gas water heater:

  1. Gas burner is one of the essential elements geyser.
  2. A heat exchanger is located above the gas burner. It is a tube bent into a spiral, flowing through which water is heated.
  3. The ignition device can be electronic, and ignite from a button, or have a pilot light or wick that never stops burning. Old gas water heaters had to be lit with matches, and modern models A piezo ignition is installed, activated by pressing a button.
  4. The water-gas unit includes two components: a membrane and a gas valve. When the water is turned on, the membrane bends and opens the gas valve, thereby ensuring gas flow into the burner.
  5. The safety automation includes sensors and a solenoid valve. If there is any malfunction, the electromagnetic sensor closes the valve and the column turns off. The kit also includes a thermocouple, which is activated when the pilot burner is turned off.

Thus, there is no reservoir for storing water in geysers. Passing through the heat exchanger, the liquid heats up in a matter of seconds, thereby ensuring a constant supply of warm water to several water intake points at once.

To heat water with a gas water heater it is used natural gas. Such raw materials cost several times less than electricity, which reduces the popularity of geysers.

Knowing the structure of the gas water heater, you can understand why it goes out. We will describe to you the main problems and tell you what to do in this case.

Description of different types of Junkers brand speakers

If you are interested in the Junkers geyser, then you should consider the features of different models that belong to certain series. For example, Series B equipment does not have a constantly lit pilot light. Ignition is carried out from two batteries. The column turns on automatically and has several safety and traction control systems.

You can use the ionization flame control functionality and rely on the fuse to work. The temperature and flow of water are regulated depending on the water pressure in the water supply. You can find out about malfunctions by reading the display. The speakers in this series are made of high quality copper, which can last for 15 years. The Junkers geyser may also belong to the P series, the equipment in this case has piezo ignition, and the igniter will burn constantly. Flow and power are regulated separately. The flame intensity is controlled through a thermoelectric system. In equipment that belongs to the G series, the manufacturer has provided ignition technology. The minimum water pressure at which the column will operate is 0.35 atm. The device does not have a burning igniter, and ignition is carried out using a hydrodynamic generator. If you choose one of the G series columns, you can count on the fact that you can immediately connect the equipment to three water intake points. All models can have a minimum or standard size. Both versions have the same equipment, and the only difference is in dimensions. The cost depends on the device and the need for transportation and installation.

Why does a geyser go out and how to deal with it yourself?

If the speaker does not work well, turns off quickly and turns on slowly, then you may be faced with one of the problems described above. In this case, you need to find out the reason, and if it is not very serious, try to eliminate it yourself. Let's talk in more detail about several of the most common problems that you can deal with without the help of a specialist.

If the gas water heater goes out, it cannot be used.

The most common problems due to which the wick in a gas water heater does not burn:

  1. If there is no draft in the chimney, there may be two reasons: a clogged chimney and poor ventilation. In the first case, you will need to clean the chimney. You can do this yourself or use the services of a specialist. However, there is another equally common problem. The fact is that nowadays most apartments are equipped with airtight plastic windows, which limit the ventilation of the home. In this case, you need to install a special supply valve, which will ensure proper air circulation; if this is not done, the column will only work when the windows are opened. If you have a supply valve, but suffer from the column constantly turning off, then check the draft by holding a lit match to the inspection window. If the flame does not deflect, then repeat the experiment with the chimney. If there is draft in the chimney, then the heat exchanger in the columns is cleaned, if not, then the chimney itself is cleaned.
  2. When the burner itself goes out, most likely the reason is a strong gust of wind. To prevent this from happening, do not open windows in windy weather. To resume operation of the device, you need to turn it off and on again.
  3. The column may also go out due to overheating. Such a nuisance can occur from mixing hot water with cold water or due to the formation of scale in heat exchangers. To prevent this from happening, you need to regulate the temperature by changing the water pressure, or using the regulator on the column. You also need to constantly clean the heat exchanger from scale using special products.

These are the three most common reasons why both Chinese and branded speakers may not work. With some simple manipulations, you can deal with this problem yourself.

Installation and connection

It is better to entrust installation and connection to a specialist who has been trained in working with this type of equipment. In addition, he will be able to suggest which original spare parts are worth purchasing, diagnose the equipment and prevent any malfunctions from occurring. However, even a professional must follow the instructions that are sold along with the product itself.

  • The column is usually mounted in a warm room near the chimney so that the supply of combustion air is not obstructed. There is no need for additional protection of flammable surfaces. The device is installed in compliance with the required gaps separating it from the wall and furniture. The room temperature should be positive.
  • First of all, the casing is removed, then it tilts towards itself and rises up. Having connected Junkers to the gas network, you need to install shut-off valves as close to installation as possible. Before connecting to the water supply pipes, they will need to be thoroughly washed, otherwise sand, lime and other contaminants will lead to a delay in water supply. Both pipelines (gas and water) must be ideally combined with the parameters of the column.
  • To avoid blockages, it is necessary to install protective filters.
  • The column is attached to the wall using brackets. It should not rest on water or gas pipes. If the speaker has an electric ignition, you will need to insert two batteries with a power of 1.5 Volts.
  • At the end of work stopcock and the water valves are closed, and the operation of the draft sensor is checked. The launch occurs according to the instructions.

Peculiarities

The characteristics of Junkers indicate that the device is ideally suited to Russian conditions. It is adapted to the pressure maintained in Russian gas pipelines and is equal to 13 millibars. In addition, the system is able to work with the low water pressure inherent in Russian water supply systems. For Junkers, 0.1 atmospheres is enough to perform the intended functions.

Such a gas burner is capable of heating from 11 to 16 liters of water per minute, which is considered a very high figure. In addition, the flame power automatically changes depending on the strength and size of the water flow. The structures are safe and can serve for a decent time. The devices are able to provide fast water heating and look great, which explains their popularity around the world.

Strict design, a variety of models differing in performance, design and ignition system, affordable price and simple controls are among their main advantages.

Operating rules

It should be remembered that some actions can lead to damage to the gas water heater. Junkers operation will be disrupted if fresh air is not provided. In addition, breakdowns will occur when using too long hoses, which lead to a decrease in pressure and the simultaneous opening of hot and cold taps. Naturally, the lack of periodic prevention will also lead to negative consequences.

It was already indicated above how you can turn on the Junkers column - this is done using a valve and a piezoelectric element that can light the wick. Once you light the burner, it will work throughout the day. Moreover, as soon as the tap opens hot water, the boiler will connect automatically. You can change the gas pressure and water pressure by switching two control knobs.

If you decide to clean gas equipment, this is done according to a certain algorithm.

  • First, the gas and water are turned off, then the casing is removed.
  • At the next stage, the water unit and smoke receiver are dismantled.
  • Finally, the heat exchanger is removed at the end. The radiator can be washed in warm water, where a non-abrasive cleaning solution has been added. The brush should be long-haired and quite stiff.
  • The wick and main burner can be easily cleaned using a special awl. In addition, you will have to remove carbon deposits from each injector. However, it is not recommended to do this yourself. It is better to invite a specialist once a year who will combine an inspection with descaling. The professional will also remove deposits, check the tightness of the fittings and clean the plates on the flue gas side.

If you smell gas, do not use it. electrical switches and telephone in the area where you are gas burner

It is important to immediately close gas tap, open the windows, ventilate the room and call the specialists who installed the equipment. To prevent dangerous situations, you should not store liquids or objects prone to ignition near Junkers

When the room temperature drops below zero degrees, the burner turns off and empties. If before winter months such a procedure was not carried out, then when connecting the device the next season, you need to check whether the water is heated.

What to do if the gas water heater igniter goes out

The only one the right decision will call a licensed technician from our service center to clean and adjust the igniter. Checking the functions of the thermocouple and the gas control system. Gas smoking can also spread to the main burner, which will also need the attention of a technician. Usually, if the wick goes out during operation, then the work is adjusted by completely cleaning the gas water heater.

Device cost

The cost of the device depends entirely on the size (standard or mini) and its version (B, P, G). On average, the price for type B varies from 10 to 13 thousand rubles, for type P from 6.8 to 9.7 thousand rubles, for version G from 11 to 12 thousand rubles.

Each device comes with detailed instructions, which describes the technical components of the device, instructions for installation, configuration and care of it. The manufacturer recommends not to install the device yourself, but to trust specialists from the gas service. After all, incorrect installation can not only break the device, but also cause significant harm to an inept installer.

The device has a large number positive feedback from satisfied customers. They consider it a reliable, safe and affordable device.

What to do if the geyser goes out for other reasons

In addition to the above problems, other problems may arise that negatively affect the performance of the column. You can also deal with them yourself.

To prevent the geyser from going rotten, there should be no drafts in the room

Other reasons for speaker fading:

  1. The column does not light up if you have weak pressure water or the batteries are dead. New batteries and increasing the pressure will help solve the problem. It is also possible that your igniter is clogged, in which case it needs to be cleaned.
  2. It is also possible that the membrane has exhausted its service life. In this case, it needs to be examined. Then clean or replace.
  3. Maybe your module boards are burned out. To prevent this from happening, connect the speaker through a stabilizer.

If the column goes out when the button is released, then it may be installed above the chimney satellite antenna your neighbors. In this case, you need to reduce the flame or turn off the device and contact gas services.

Design and principle of operation

A typical column consists of a casing that is connected to the chimney through a pipe, a heat exchanger (the best is copper), a gas burner, an ignition system, sensors and a mechanism responsible for supplying gas. The gas water heater is connected quite simply.

Its operating principle can be examined on a model that has piezo ignition.

  • The slider is set to the middle position, after which you need to click on it. At this moment, the valve opens and gas enters the wick, also known as the igniter.
  • The piezoelectric element, located at the bottom left of the gas column, supplies a spark that ignites the gas. In this case, the slider button is kept pressed for up to 40 seconds. When it is released, the wick still continues to burn.
  • At this time, the thermocouple of the column is heated, which will then keep the electromagnetic gas valve open.

You can set the required water and gas consumption.

External signs of a geyser malfunction

If the junkers gas water heater does not light up, the reasons for this may be: external factors, not related to the condition of the main equipment.

  • Incorrect piping. In this case, it is necessary to check the connection of both the inlet and outlet pipes, which will also ensure an uninterrupted water supply.
  • No traction. This is usually caused by a clogged chimney. big amount dust or foreign objects. Thus, combustion products are not removed and the burner goes out. In such a situation, you need to bring your hand to the chimney or a small flame (from a match or lighter). An important condition is the presence open window. If the draft level is sufficient, the flame will be deflected, and air movement will be felt on the palm.
  • Feels like bad smell gas in the room, which may be caused by neighbors installing an antenna above the chimney. In this case, you must immediately turn off the water heater, ventilate the room and call special gas services.
  • The column ignites, but after a while it fades out. This may be caused by excessive “sensitivity” of the protective relay. In such a situation, it is necessary to cool the room by opening the windows and contact service department to replace the relay.
  • A discharged battery or battery may also cause the automatic ignition unit to not operate. This indicates the need to replace them, which you can do yourself.
  • Low water pressure may indicate a malfunction of the junkers geyser if the water pressures, for example, in the bathroom and in the kitchen, are different. If they are equally small, then the reason is a weak water supply network.
  • Extinguishing the wick can be caused by an oblique, uneven flame. As a result, poor heating of the thermocouple occurs, which automatically turns off the unit. IN in this case it is necessary to clean the dust, which is mandatory preventive measure when the wick goes out.

  • If you notice a problem with the pilot light (it smokes or goes out), your best option is to contact a licensed professional who works with gas equipment. He will check all the components that may give such a picture, and also clean your gas water heater.
  • If the column turns on and immediately goes out, do not try to turn on the device again, but cut off gas access to the problematic device and call a specialist. If the shutdown was caused by a gas leak, turning it on again may cause accumulation inside the room. carbon monoxide, which is unsafe for the health of people in the room.
  • Bye emergency service didn't arrive, you can check the traction. To do this, light a match and bring it to the inspection hole on the column panel. If the flame is drawn inward, then the draft is sufficient. If there is no movement of the flame, disconnect the chimney pipe and repeat the manipulation with the match near the hole ventilation shaft. A lit match will also help you identify problems with air flow into the room if you hold it near a window.

Features of column selection

The main difference between different models geysers lies in the way they are ignited, whether it is a product of junkers, bosch, Neva or Lux. Today it is very rare to find a device that is lit with matches, so this option is not even considered.

The most popular speakers today are units with piezo ignition. In them, you just need to press a button located on the device panel. In addition, such units provide the ability to set the desired temperature of the supplied water.

Dispensers with electric ignition are the most expensive option, which allows you to significantly save gas. The device is turned on automatically by a flow of water. Purchasing such products allows you to save on energy costs and get heated water from maximum convenience, which justifies high cost columns.
Modern geysers, which are offered by famous trademarks, as a rule, have three-level protection:

  • From the flame dying out.
  • Lack of draft in the pipe.
  • The occurrence of such a process as reverse thrust.

The equipment is protected from overheating by a hydraulic safety valve.

How to determine that there are internal faults in a gas water heater

The reasons why the water heater goes out may be the following:

  • filters are clogged;
  • the membrane is deformed.

If the quality of water supplied to the room is unsatisfactory (for example, hard, with a large amount of lime impurities), the metal filter grid becomes clogged. To restore the normal functioning of the unit, it is necessary to clean (replace) the mixer filter. Cleaning can be done with conventional detergents to remove rust and scale.

It is also important to clean the column itself from soot formations.

To examine the membrane, the bolts that secure the front panel of the speaker are unscrewed.

When inspecting the membrane, attention is paid to its shape (so that there are no deformations) and the presence of any chips. . If such defects are detected, it must be replaced.

And it is better to choose a silicone membrane, since its surface is more durable and elastic.

If such defects are detected, it must be replaced. And it is better to choose a silicone membrane, since its surface is more durable and elastic.

In this regard, the service life of this part will be longer.

To install the membrane, it is better to use the services of specialists, which will undoubtedly be safer. In addition, when you call a technician, you can simultaneously carry out general cleaning of the unit and conduct a full diagnostic of the device.

The reasons for the attenuation of the gas column may also be the following:

  • unequal pressures of hot and cold water, which can be solved by simply regulating the water supply;
  • lack of cold water before starting the unit, which, by the way, leads to rapid damage to the column;
  • insufficient time to hold the ignition button (20 seconds is the required duration);
  • There is a malfunction of the flue gas sensor, which can be determined by calling.

Now about malfunctions of Junkers speakers Junkers, Bosch Bosh

  1. As I wrote above, the column is assembled on rubber O-rings. With old speakers they become stiff and the seals begin to leak. It’s good if the master has them. You often come across different collective farm options from windings to sealants.
  2. The membrane of the water block, unlike the membranes of Chinese speakers, lasts a very long time.
Seal repair kits for sale.

Malfunctions requiring mandatory contact with a specialist

There are two main reasons why a geyser goes out:

  • one of three emergency sensors is triggered: traction, overheating or combustion;
  • the column is clogged, which makes it completely impossible to ignite it.

Initial actions in cases where the unit stops working:

  1. To exclude the first option, you need to make sure there is no smell of gas, and draft is carried out in the chimney. If this is detected, you need to call a professional to clean the smoke valve.
  2. The overheating sensor turns on if the heat exchanger is clogged or the control automation does not work. Its purpose is to protect the copper coil. In this situation, ventilate the room and wait until the unit cools down. Contacting a specialist is mandatory, since only a trained gas technician can properly regulate the column after descaling it.
  3. If the third sensor is triggered, the gas supply is automatically shut off. In fact, this sensor is a regular thermocouple. If there is a flame, a current is generated and gas is passed through the solenoid valve. When the fire goes out, the valve shuts off the fuel supply for 10 seconds. In this case, you can hear a characteristic sound reminiscent of snapping fingers.

Important! If the gas water heater emits a gas odor when turned off, it is important to turn off all valves, ventilate the room and call gas services. .

Algorithm of actions when turning off the thermal mechanism:

  • stand for 10-15 minutes (to cool the sensors);
  • chimney draft is checked;
  • the presence of gas is checked;
  • the room is ventilated;
  • an attempt is made to start the unit (put the power knob in the position required to turn it on, keep it on for 20 seconds, press the “piezo igniter” button);
  • if the actions taken did not lead to the desired result, the functioning of the combustion sensor is checked;
  • the non-working state of the combustion sensor can be caused by contamination of the pipe, which operates on the principle of a vacuum cleaner, so it should be thoroughly cleaned;

To clean the device that supplies combustion gas (pipe), the following actions are carried out:

  • the handle that regulates the water temperature is removed;
  • the required ignition position is set;
  • the surface of the gas device is removed;
  • use a screwdriver to lift up the pipe clamps located on top;
  • These clamps are placed separately;
  • by moving the lower clamp, the pipe is removed;
  • the tube on which dust is collected is washed under running water, cleaned with cotton swabs and sticks;
  • A prerequisite for normal pipe cleaning is the removal of all residues detergent and water;
  • the nozzle also undergoes thorough cleaning;
  • the tube is installed back into the device, starting from the top mount, where the springy end is located;
  • for the lower fastening, you will need to apply enough force to secure the pipe tightly;
  • the clamps are put back in their original place;
  • a second attempt is made to ignite the column by simultaneously turning on the piezo ignition and power regulator;
  • handles and buttons are held in this position for at least 10 seconds;
  • The temperature adjustment knob is inserted into its original place.

In addition, the most common reason for the damping of a geyser is described in this video:

Conclusion

The range of products produced today in this market segment is incredibly diverse, so it can be difficult for consumers to navigate without preliminary preparation and professional advice. Modern gas water heaters have a stylish design, as well as a practical and convenient control panel.

The product under the Junkers brand, produced in Germany, has embodied most of the wishes of the most demanding customers, which has ensured its stable popularity over the years. No less worthy devices are devices produced by brands such as Bosch and Electrolux.

An easy-to-use, German-made Junkers gas water heater is designed for use in apartments or private houses where there is no hot water. centralized water supply. The units are divided into several classes according to the type of ignition and power. All of them are adapted to work in Russian conditions and are capable of operating at critically low pressure in the system (down to 0.1 atm), which is especially important for multi-story buildings.

Before choosing a device, you should study all the characteristics in detail, otherwise you may make a mistake and purchase the wrong option.

Types of geysers Junkers

All modifications of Junkers geysers are equipped with different types igniter

Junkers Version "B"

Bosch Therm 4000 OW 10-2B

The burner is ignited using 2 batteries. The water heater starts at an automated level. Eat complex system responsible for operational safety:

Water pressure level and temperature regime adjusted based on the flow in the water supply system. This version has a problem indicator that indicates the need to repair the Junkers geyser.

Based on user reviews and manufacturer statements, the unit in this series is capable of serving properly for more than 10 years. This classification includes all types of Junkers WR geysers, including Min-Maxx and Junkers WR 10, but with the prefix “B”.

Junkers "R"

In these versions, piezo ignition is installed, the igniter will always be ignited. Water pressure and flow can be adjusted separately. Models WR13-P, 15-P, 10-P have a thermoelectric device that controls the flame level.

Junkers "G"

Class “G” units have Hydro Power technology and are capable of operating at a pressure of 0.35 atm. The burner is ignited by a hydrodynamic generator. Class “G” devices operate at three water intake points. Modifications: WR 13-G, 15-G, 10-G.

Cost of units

Modifications of two versions are released on the market - standard and mini. They differ in size, all other parameters are completely identical. The cost of devices depends on the dimensions, the need for transportation and installation. On average, the price of devices is equal to the following indicators:

Versions by size

Dimensions

Cost, rub.

Standard

Miniature

Width, cm

Depth, cm

Each device comes with an instruction manual, which specifies detailed information about how to turn on the gas water heater, configure it and even install it. But it is recommended to entrust the installation to specialists from the gas service. Otherwise, you can make a mistake that will harm not only the water heater, but also the health of the user.

Common problems

More than 60% of breakdowns occur due to non-compliance with operating rules, the remaining percentage is attributed to power surges, low quality water and corrosion. Manufacturing defects are not included in this list, since they can be eliminated free of charge by sending the equipment to a service center.

Despite the fact that Junkers are very high quality and reliable among their competitors, breakdowns sometimes occur. They are associated with voltage surges, housing corrosion, and scale formation. Factory defects are eliminated free of charge

As for paid repairs, approximately 800-2000 rubles will be required for the services of a specialist, depending on the complexity of the work. But here it should be taken into account that it is more profitable to transport the water heater to the service center yourself, since a visit from a Junkers geyser repair technician is even more expensive.

Common malfunctions that users often encounter during equipment operation:

  1. A few seconds after starting the water heater, the wick goes out. The main reason for this situation will be the failure of the thermocouple, valve device, or combustion product sensor.
  2. The water does not heat up. In this case, most likely the heat exchanger has broken down or a large layer of scale has formed in it.
  3. The device began to make loud noises and overheat. The reasons are completely similar to the previous paragraph.
  4. Water leak. The integrity of the heat exchanger is compromised or the seal requires replacement.

To fix the problem yourself, first of all you need to carry out the following manipulations:

  • establishing the exact cause of the breakdown;
  • purchase of original spare parts;
  • preparation of equipment that may be required in the process repair work;
  • studying the rules for troubleshooting and following the recommendations of specialists.

After replacing the broken part, before lighting the Junkers geyser, you need to make sure that all fasteners are firmly fixed and there will be no gas leakage when turning on the burner.

Water heater repairs may only be carried out independently if you have the necessary experience. Also, only original parts should be used. You can purchase spare parts from an official Bosch representative. For example, a new hydraulic fitting will cost up to 7,500 rubles, an igniter - 400-500, an electronic ignition device will cost 5,500 rubles.

Pros and cons of Junkers geysers

Gas water heaters Junkers are considered quite common; they are often found in private homes and country houses. But even modern units, manufactured on the basis of leading technologies, have some disadvantages. The main disadvantages are the following nuances:

  • increased noise level - this factor applies to almost all modifications;
  • after 5-6 years, problems with the heat exchanger begin, water leaks appear;
  • All joint areas require additional sealing; the supplied gaskets are not enough to eliminate all leaks.

According to water heater repair technicians main reason the appearance of the listed nuances is the formation of scale. The manufacturer claims that this equipment can be used in Russian conditions only with the installation of an additional water filter. In this way, you can increase the resource to 10-12 years.

But here other nuances arise. Firstly, regularly replacing cartridges is considered quite a troublesome task, and secondly, doubts arise about the usefulness of taking baths with magnetized water. Russians are quite satisfied with the service life of water heaters of 10-13 years without the use of various filter systems.

But despite such categorical disadvantages, Junkers Control equipment has a large number of advantages, which include:

  • modifications are adapted to the pressure in the domestic gas pipeline system of 13 mbar, when in Europe the figure reaches 20;
  • water heaters are able to function in combination with a water supply system in which low water pressure is from 0.1 atm;
  • the units have increased productivity and are capable of heating 11-17 liters of liquid per minute;
  • the equipment is equipped with a flame modulation system, when automatic power selection occurs depending on water pressure;
  • high degree safety and affordable cost.

To all this, you should also add the operating life of the water heater equal to 10-13 years and a warranty of 24 months.

Geysers are designed for heating water in apartments and houses that do not have a central hot water supply. The devices are easy to use, safe, and allow you to adjust the degree of heating.

All Junkers water heaters are adapted for use in Russia and have a number of advantages:

  • adaptation to pressure in Russian gas pipelines of 13 mbar. In Europe this figure is 20 mbar. Unadapted devices under such conditions will be less productive;
  • adaptation to water supply pressure. Russia is characterized by low water pressure, especially in multi-storey buildings. The Junkers geyser operates stably at a pressure of 0.1 atm;
  • high performance. The devices heat 11-16 liters of water per minute;
  • cold water is mixed in the mixer;
  • flame modulation - automatic change in power depending on the volume of water flow;
  • safety;
  • German assembly quality;
  • two years warranty;
  • long service life.

Types and prices

Columns are divided into three types according to the ignition method:

Series B – there is no constantly burning igniter. Ignition is powered by two batteries. The dispenser turns on automatically, there are several safety systems: traction control, fuse, ionization flame control. Water flow and temperature are regulated depending on the water pressure in the water supply. There is a fault indicator. Junkers B series is made of high quality copper and will last at least 15 years. Models: WR 13 V, WR 15 V, WR 10 V (minMAXX).

Series P – piezo ignition. The pilot light is constantly on. Power and water flow are regulated separately. Thermoelectric flame control. Models: WR 13 P, WR 15 P, WR 10 P (miniMAXX)

Series G – HydroPower ignition technology. Minimum water pressure 0.35 atm. There is no burning igniter; ignition is carried out from a hydrodynamic generator. Gas water heater series G provides hot water simultaneously to 1-3 water points. Models: WR 13 G, WR 15 G, WR 10 G (miniMAXX).

All models are available in two sizes: standard and mini. The equipment of both versions is the same, the only difference is in dimensions. The price depends on the size of the device and the need for delivery and installation. The average cost in Moscow is shown in the table.

The lineup

Price, rubles

WR 275-1 KDB WR 10B 10 100
WR 275-1 KDG WR 10G 10 600

If you can’t afford to buy a new model, you can find a good used device. It costs an order of magnitude cheaper.

Possible breakdowns

The design of Junkers devices is one of the most advanced today. But breakdowns still occur due to improper operation, voltage surges, scale formation, and housing corrosion. Factory defects in all service centers eliminated free of charge. On average in Moscow, the cost of repairing a Junkers geyser is 2,000 rubles. If you call a technician to your home, it will be more expensive, if you take the equipment to the service yourself, it will be cheaper.

Typical faults:

1. The ignition wick goes out. The cause may be a breakdown of the thermocouple, valve or flue gas sensor;

2. The water is not heating. The reason is a breakdown of the heat exchanger;

3. The water heater is noisy and overheats. The reason is a broken radiator or clogged with scale;

4. The housing is leaking. Problems with the seal or heat exchanger;

5. The ignition spark goes out. Reason: the flame controller is broken;

6. Spontaneous shutdown.

Is it possible to carry out repairs yourself? Certainly! To do this you need:

  • establish the cause of the malfunction;
  • have original spare parts;
  • have special equipment for diagnostics and repairs;
  • undergo training on working with gas equipment;
  • a lot of time;
  • funds for new device in case of force majeure.

Therefore, troubleshooting any geyser malfunctions should be carried out by a specialist with special skills and knowledge in this area. Repairs must comply with GOSTs and standards for this type of work. Only in this case can you count on long-term and reliable operation, eliminating the risk of explosion and gas leakage. Original spare parts can be purchased from Bosh dealerships. So, a new hydraulic fitting will cost about 7,000 rubles, an igniter – 500 rubles, and an electronic ignition unit – 5,000 rubles.
