Angels are considered an indispensable attribute of the Christmas holidays. The Holy Scripture “Gospel” tells about the angels who appeared to the Virgin Mary with good news. This news was about the imminent birth of her long-awaited son, but not an ordinary one, but the Savior of all mankind.
And at the birth of the son Jesus in the Bethlehem cave, angels appeared to the shepherds and reported about this miracle. This is where the tradition came from: on Christmas, be sure to decorate your homes with beautiful messengers - angels and give them to friends and family.
At the same time, angel crafts made with your own hands are endowed with warmth and heartfelt love, so they are priceless and dear to those to whom you present them.
How to make a decorative angel
You can create an angel for Christmas with your own hands from any available materials, using all sorts of ways to make them.
The easiest way is to make a paper or cardboard angel. To do this, you need to cut out the angel in a specially selected shape, attach ribbons to the resulting figures and hang them in the desired places.
The angels will turn out to be light and airy, and with every movement of air they will seem to float in the sky, confirming their status as “heavenly creatures”.
It’s also not difficult to make a figurine of a three-dimensional angel; you just need to prepare the appropriate pattern, which can be downloaded from the Internet resource. According to the pattern, cut out a blank from a sheet of white, pale pink or light blue paper.
Make a skirt from the same paper, connect the edges using a couple of cuts. As you can see, you only need scissors and paper for the job.
For decoration, you can use various feathers, white fluff, sparkles, beads, sequins, etc., then your angel will look especially festive and fabulous. A master class on “how to make an angel” that you watched on the Internet will make your work faster and easier.
Knitted angel figures
Angels made using a crochet hook require more painstaking and lengthy work, but at the same time they are in no way inferior to paper ones in originality, airiness and solemnity. To create an openwork angel, you need to purchase white “iris” yarn, a No. 4 hook and starch, which will make the angel’s shape stable.
The manufacturing process takes place in three approaches. In the first, the head is knitted, in the second - wings, in the third - a skirt. Patterns for knitting an angel can be downloaded from the corresponding website.
The finished angel product must be starched to ensure the stability of the openwork material and decorated with satin ribbons, feathers, fluff and sparkles. How to make an angel correctly is shown in the photo.
Fabric angels
A light, plain fabric is also ideal for creating Christmas angels. The base is made from fabric, the dress is made from lighter fabric, for decoration you can use various elements of jewelry, sequins, sparkles, lace, pieces of yarn for the figurine’s hair and cotton wool.
In addition, you will need patterns, according to which you need to cut out the fabric parts and sew them. Fill the details with cotton and get the volume of the figure. Then sew on a dress decorated with lace and ribbons, beads and sequins.
Then sew on the arms, legs and wings, attach hair from yarn to the head, make eyes from beads, imitate the likeness of a nose, attach a ribbon in the form of a loop and you can decorate your Christmas tree with this angel.
What else can you make an angel out of?
It's also very easy to make an angel figurine for Christmas using felt. A figurine template is prepared, according to which a blank is cut out of felt, the edges are processed with threads of the same tone or more contrasting ones (a very interesting option!). The decor is chosen according to your wishes, using various shiny and airy things.
Cotton pads are also suitable for making angels. In addition, you cannot do without available materials: threads, toothpicks and fast-acting glue. The step-by-step process for making an angel with your own hands is as follows.
The disk splits in two. A medium-sized bead (you can use a ball of cotton wool) is placed in one of them in the center, tied with thread and straightened - the angel's wings are ready. From another disk we make a skirt, inside of which we attach a toothpick with glue.
We also attach the head with wings. The result is an airy and cute craft in the shape of an angel. These figures can be used to decorate any holiday dish.
If you wish, you can find many options for making angels and the necessary instructions on the Internet. DIY Christmas angels will pleasantly warm your soul in frost and cold, not only on holidays, but also on weekdays.
Photo instructions on how to make an angel
Hi all. As promised, today I’ll tell you about how to make angel eyes at home, using available tools and materials. The article will be useful to those who love to make things with their own hands. Go!?
We all know what angel eyes are, and who owns (the chip belongs to BMW) this invention that is so popular with millions of motorists around the world. But, unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to buy a BMW, but they want to have beautiful tuned optics. What to do in this case? Everything is very simple, you need to “flex your brains” and make your own angel eyes.
To work you need to prepare:
- "Straight arms" :-). I'm joking, of course, but without the slightest experience in handmade crafts, you most likely will not succeed... Therefore, before taking on this work, you need to realistically assess your own abilities.
- Plexiglas tubes (transparent PVC tubes). You can buy these online, at a hardware store, or at a decor store. Some craftsmen get creative and use strips of plexiglass or PVC as a plexiglass tube, which they cut into square strips, after which they are sanded into a round shape with sandpaper of different grain sizes. As an option, some use LED strip, but that's a completely different story... I think someday I'll tell you about this option for creating angel eyes.
- Soldering iron, four 12V resistors, bright LEDs rated at 3.5 volts. The color of the LEDs is at your discretion.
- A template or layout according to which the tube will be bent. The diameter of the template should match the diameter of the place where you are going to install the angel eyes. Here you can use anything: from a coffee can to a drainpipe of the required diameter...
- Electrical tape, heat shrink, soft copper wire. The length of the wire will be different for everyone, it all depends on the method of wiring and the location of the connection.
- Pliers, a household hair dryer, a metal blade or a special miniature cutting wheel for a screwdriver or drill.
- Sandpaper of different grains, file or needle file.
Making angel eyes with your own hands - step-by-step instructions
1. First you need to remove the headlight. I think everyone knows how to do this; I will not describe the process, since this process will happen differently for everyone.
3. Take measurements. Select a template of the required diameter according to which the plexiglass tube will be bent.
4. Before heating and bending the tube, I’ll tell you about an interesting way to apply edges to angel eyes. We will do this using a metal file, or using a cutting wheel, but there is another, no less interesting way. It consists of applying a notch (edges) before bending the tube using a die of the required diameter. The result, to be honest, is very worthy, it comes out even better than when applying notches with a canvas. In short, decide for yourself which method you like best. However, keep in mind that with a die, the notches are applied before you start heating and bending the tube.
5. Cut off the required piece of transparent tube and begin heating it. Wear gloves and gradually warm up the entire length of the tube. As it softens, the tube will take the shape you want. Take your time and be careful; if it overheats, the plexiglass tube will become deformed and you will have to start all over again. Before how to make angel eyes that will be installed on your car, I recommend practicing the skill of bending a plexiglass tube.
6. When the tube takes the required ring shape, do not rush to remove the tube; it is still hot and does not hold its shape. Wait 10 minutes for the resulting ring to harden, then remove it.
7. Now, armed with a soldering iron, you need to connect it to resistors - see photo. After everything has been soldered, you need to check whether everything is connected correctly. If everything is connected and soldered correctly, we take heat shrink or, as a last resort, electrical tape and begin to insulate the contacts.
8. We do the same with the second LED and resistor, after which we connect the two LEDs using electrical tape and heat shrink - see photo.
10. Next, cut the ends and connect the LEDs. Before connecting to the tubes, I want to say a few words about how to connect the LEDs. You can simply lean the LEDs against the ends, placing them, for example, on hot glue or electrical tape, or you can go another, more correct, in my opinion, route. On the Internet, among thousands of instructions for making angel eyes, I came across one photo report in which a craftsman connected LEDs and the ends of a tube by drilling holes in the ends into which LEDs were glued. See photo below.
11. After assembly angel eyes needs to be checked. If everything works, we isolate the connections and proceed to installing the products in the headlights. I can’t help you with this issue, use your imagination...
12. You can connect the angel eyes yourself if you understand electronics, or you can simply entrust this to a familiar electrician.
All that remains is to assemble the headlights, install them in place and check the results of the work. That's all for today. I hope everything worked out for you and DIY angel eyes They will delight you for a long time and shine to the envy of everyone around you. Thank you for your attention, and see you again on .
Angel eyes are installed for various reasons: some drivers want to make the car tuned and modern, others want to indicate the dimensions of the car and make it more recognizable. Whatever your reasons, we will help you figure out how to install angel eyes on your car.
How to install angel eyes?
Have you been wondering for a long time about how to connect angel eyes and install them in the optics of your car? We invite you to review this short installation guide.
- Regular/standard,
- "Gentle."
Connecting angel eyes, method No. 1
- You disassemble the optics and run the wires into the engine compartment. This can be done using the upper technological slots.
- Once the wires have passed through, you need to look under the hood of the car. There, find the two-pin connector for the sidelight.
- When you find them, you need to disconnect them.
- Next, find the wire that is responsible for the “+” dimensions.
After performing these operations, you need to determine the further type of connection:
- with side lights,
- installation of angel eyes to replace the dimensions.
Connecting angel eyes to dimensions | Angel eyes to replace side lights |
Connect the “+” eye wire to the “male” terminal (the second part of the two-plug block) | First, turn off the “native” dimensions of the car |
Pre-clean a small section of the wire | In a two-pin block, you need to remove the male terminal (separate the wire from the block and thereby disconnect the dimensions) |
We connect by soldering or twisting together | You need to connect the “+” from the angel eyes to the “male” terminal and connect them. |
Insulate pole connection points | All connections must be insulated to avoid short circuits |
The angel eyes terminal “-” is connected to the car body. | The “-” terminal of the angel eyes is allocated for connection to the car body |
In order to make the connection, you need to expose a small section of the wire and make a loop at the end and attach it to the body of the machine | The same steps as in the first connection option |
How to fix angel eyes, method No. 2
This connection method is not called “gentle” for nothing. The name comes from the fact that the eyes will automatically turn off when the high beam headlights are turned on. If you are going to use, then this type of connection will have a beneficial effect on the process of use, as it will maximize the life of the lighting devices. There are two reasons for this at the same time.
The first is that the temperature of the diodes will be lower when used separately. The second is saving the life of diodes when they are turned off when necessary. When headlights and peepholes operate simultaneously, the latter practically do not stand out against the general background, which means they are useless in this case.
- 1. We pass the wires into the engine compartment.
- 2. Next, after tightening the wires, we look for the pads and disconnect them.
- 3. In this case, the yellow wire should be responsible for the “+” dimensions. To connect the AG you need a relay.
- 4. We fix the relay in the car near the headlights. One relay goes to the right “mudguard”, the other to the left.
- 5. The yellow wire (“+” size) must be removed from the first part of the two-plug block. Next, connect the “mother” terminal to terminal “87” of the relay.
- 6. The “+” wires of the AG must be connected to the “30/51” terminal.
- 7. Connect ground to terminal “86” (complete the connection with the car and its body).
- 8. We are looking for a relay for the low/high beam (“mud flaps” of the car).
- 9. Branches are made from both relays to terminal “86”. It is best to make branches with a “mother” terminal.
- 10. Next, we solder diodes D1 and D2 to both branches. It is important to observe the polarity of the diodes; it can be checked with a tester.
- 11. Now you can connect the diodes to terminal “85” and the relay.
- 12. We do the same with the second side.
When turning off the high beam peephole, you can also use an additional brightness control. With it, you can adjust the brightness of the angel eyes when glowing.
Cars equipped with so-called “angel eyes” are not uncommon on our roads. Such luminous rings appeared a little over 10 years ago. The engineers of the German concern BMW are rightfully considered the inventors of “angel eyes”. But now they are equipped not only with foreign cars, but also with domestic cars. Of course, this is not done on an assembly line, but in the garage with the hands of the car owner. What’s noteworthy is that this type of tuning never ceases to please car enthusiasts. And if in front of us stands a Zhigul, hung with a mass of spoilers, and next to it is the same car with “angel eyes”, the effect from the latter will definitely be greater.
It is quite possible to attract the attention of the public without purchasing plastic body kits; you just need to install “angel eyes” with your own hands. And today’s article will tell you how to do it correctly.
Let's get started
If you are installing “angel eyes” on a Priora, you can easily use these instructions. So, first we need to remove the headlight from its mounts. Next, you should separate the part from the main beam and open the glass. To do this, the headlight must be heated to a temperature until its adhesive warms up. Then you can easily remove the glass. Then you need to take a sharp object and remove the remaining traces of sealant with it. If necessary, you can use alcohol or gasoline. Installing “angel eyes” with your own hands is quite difficult, so we do all further steps with the utmost care. Remove any debris accumulated in the headlight. This is best done with cotton swabs. It is extremely undesirable to touch the reflectors with your fingers, as fingerprints will remain on the surface.
Now we apply new sealant to the glass and install the rings. A little advice - before making “angel eyes”, decide on their further color (it is important that it harmonizes with the color of the body). Blue and neon diodes are installed on light-colored cars, and white “angel eyes” are installed on darker cars. We mount the part so that its luminous elements are in the upper part. We pull all the wires coming from the LED strip into the hollow of the headlight. It is important to remember that the notches on the ring are directed outward. Now take a tube of automotive silicone and apply the product between the headlight unit and the glass. Next, you should wait 30-40 minutes for the sealant to harden. After that, turn on the headlights and watch them burn. Then we connect all the wires to the installed rings. Now we take the headlight and install it in place. But the question of how to install “angel eyes” with your own hands is not closed. Now let's move on to the wires again. We attach them to the headlight wiring harness. But before you do this, think about how to place them under the hood.
It is important that all hanging elements do not come out and do not interfere with the operation of other vehicle systems. Next, disconnect the plug from the dimensions and turn signals. We connect the wires “+” and “-” to each other. Be sure to maintain correct polarity, otherwise a short circuit will occur. Now we connect the “plus” from the “angel eyes” to the “minus” dimensions. We install the outgoing “minus” under the mounts from the turn signals. Now we have finally installed the “angel eyes” with our own hands.
Good day to all! I once saw a Chaser with angel eyes made from an LED strip, and during the day it glowed quite brightly, no worse than running lights. Well, I was inspired to install the same ones on my tea! Only the price for installing them is steep; according to advertisements, for the installation of such “angels” they ask for about 2000-3000 rubles, plus you buy a tape from them (for comparison, everything cost me 500 rubles). What you need for self-installation:1. LED strip - 4 pieces (I took a length of 48 cm each, white light, because blue is prohibited);
2.oven or hair dryer;
3. wires (preferably thinner, but not so thin that they break)
4.screwdrivers, scissors, and a little patience;Let's get to work.
1. First of all, remove the headlight; it comes off quite easily. For those who have never done this, I’ll explain: unscrew the screw that holds the turn signal on the headlight and pull off the turn signal.
Then unscrew the 3 bolts that hold the headlight. Take out the light bulbs (personally, I just disconnected the chips from the light bulbs) and remove the headlight2. Prepare for “loading” into the oven (since I don’t have a hair dryer, I had to heat the sealant this way). We take out the light bulbs and wipe the headlight from dust and dirt. We set the oven to approximately 170-175 degrees, the timer for 5-7 minutes (decide for yourself over time, since all ovens require different amounts of time to heat up), the heating mode is from below and from above, and immerse the headlight in the oven! Personally, I didn’t wait for the timer to turn off, I checked with my hand as soon as the headlight became hot enough, but without burning my hand I pulled it out (because I already had a bitter experience with the headlight overheating and the plastic melted!!!). It is better to pull it out with gloves, because... The temperature of the headlight is quite hot.
3.Now we proceed to “opening” the headlight. Here you will need 2 flat screwdrivers. Using one screwdriver we bend the headlight latches that hold the plastic glass, with the other we try to tear the glass off the headlight and do this around the entire perimeter of the headlight. If the glass does not come off, then most likely the sealant is not heated well and you will have to repeat the heating in the oven.
If you succeed, then you will get two halves like this.Next, remove the black plastic from the headlight on which two chrome rings are located.
Now we remove the rings. Each ring is held on by four latches, you need to be careful here, because... the latches are very fragile and break easily (personally, I broke 2 pieces)Prepare your LED strip and wire. It is better to choose wire from light metal, it will be less noticeable. Because I have tinted headlights, so I chose copper, it’s still not visible. But this is everyone’s business, you can use copper if you want, it doesn’t matter.
4. Let's start making the "eyes". First, we cut the wire into blanks (make it long enough so that you can wrap the tape to the ring). First we wrap the end of the tape from where the wiring goes. Having connected the ring to the ribbon, we pull the wire with our fingers; Hercules does not need to apply any effort here, so that later there will be no problems with installing the ring in place. The excess ends of the wire that stick out can be cut off or carefully bent.
We carry out this procedure around the entire circumference of the ring. Next, see for yourself what shape you want to give to the “eyes”; if you want to see them round, then lay the tape along the entire length of the ring. If you want them to be horseshoe-shaped (in the shape of a crescent) like BMW ones, then you should not lay the tape along the upper edge of the ring. Personally, I did it around the entire circumference of the ring, but... Since my upper part is covered by eyelashes, the “eyes” turned out to be horseshoe-shaped (that is, the upper part is not visible).
Having decided on the shape of the “eyes”, cut off the excess tape.We cut off the excess, connected the tape to the ring with wire and this is what we got:
We do the same with the second ring.
Two rings are made.
Now we put the rings in place, again on the latches.5. Now is the final stage, let’s start assembling the headlights. We start the oven again and heat the headlight and plastic glass in it; under no circumstances should you put rings with “angel eyes” in there, because their gel base will melt.
Having heated the headlight, we quickly put the plastic with the “angels” in place in the headlight, pull the “eye” wiring through the hole under the parking light bulb to the outside.
The main thing is to do everything very quickly so that the sealant does not have time to cool. Then we put the plastic glass in place, making sure that all the latches fall into place (snap into place). Now press the glass against the headlight with your hands for 1-2 minutes until the sealant sets. For those who are afraid that the headlight will fog up, you can also add additional sealant, but I didn’t add anything, I left everything as it was and nothing fogged up.
Making a second headlight. Now everything is ready, put everything in place, glue the eyelashes, connect the wires to the side lights and here is the result:
In general, there is nothing complicated here; I spent about 1.5 hours on each headlight. The main thing you need is desire! I wish you all success!!!
