To work in stopwatch mode, you need to combine the zero on the bezel with the position of the second or minute hand (depending on how long the period needs to be measured), and at the end of the measurement, see what division on the bezel this hand has reached. To operate in timer mode, zero on the rotary scale is set at the end of the countdown, and the user can only monitor whether the arrow has reached zero. Thus, you can literally turn your watch into timer or stopwatch mode with just one turn of the ring - it’s faster and more convenient than digging through the settings. Such capabilities are appreciated, in particular, by scuba divers who use a timer to control air reserves; Moreover, in diving watches the rotation mechanism is often made one-sided, so that the bezel cannot be accidentally turned in the direction of increasing the remaining time.

Times are changing and the phrase “I called you, but you weren’t at home” has long turned into the phrase “I called you, but you apparently didn’t hear.” Phone forgotten in next room, in the inner pocket of the backpack, there is also a silent mode in the company of the noise of the city - and now the call did not take place, and there will be no timely response to the SMS. Manufacturers of “smart watches” have volunteered to fix this problem of our time. And while famous brands went crazy and put up exorbitant price tags, the Chinese company CHR was more loyal to its product.
Due to the nature of my work, I have to stay in touch almost around the clock. Always carrying a shovel in your pocket can be extremely inconvenient. And if on bike rides you can put your phone in a backpack (and then stop during a call, take it out, answer and return it), then sometimes it is simply impossible to carry it: for example, during morning runs, sports games, etc. The option of a headset in the ear is also no longer available, because... I listen to music a lot with good headphones.
There were a lot of reviews of “smart watches” here, but either the functions were poor (you can’t even read SMS), or the screen was in trouble. I decided to try more high-quality model with an IPS screen, the ability to be used either in tandem with a phone or separately by installing a SIM card + a bunch of useful features such as radio, alarm clock, music control on the phone, pedometer, camera, etc. Actually, we are meeting a smartphone watch that will both control your phone and do without it...

Instructions in Chinese and English, headphones, cable and the watch itself. The box contains special “airbags” to prevent the watch from being damaged or scratched during shipment. The set is standard, so we move on and move on to the watch itself.

At the top of the screen is a speaker that can be compared to phone speakers. You can hear it well, but on the street you still need to bring your hand closer to your mouth. There is no switching between speakerphone and normal – here you just adjust the volume. If you want, do it quietly and bring the watch to your ear, if you want, do it loudly and during a conversation you can not take your hands off the steering wheel while driving, for example.

Size:

The size of the watch is approximately 6 cm, the screen is 4 cm, the thickness is 1.3 cm. The total length is approximately 25 cm. The watch is designed for any hand size. I wear it on the third space out of eight. Weight about 80g.

Battery:

The watch has a battery capacity of 350 mach - with average use (constant bluetooth connection, player control, approximately 2-3 hours of calls), the watch lasted two days. Your phone will run out faster than your watch. In the mode when the SIM card was in the watch, the watch lasted for about a day. Charging time is 45 minutes.
For those who are already planning to write a comment from the series - “I also didn’t have enough to charge the watch,” I will say that with them this procedure is much more convenient. When the phone is charging, I can safely stay in touch, make calls, read SMS and Viber messages. And at the same time, I don’t have to stick to the outlet. And vice versa: while the watch is charging, the phone is in your pocket. Even now, my phone is charging in another room while I write a review and chat with a friend by the hour.

Characteristics

Software part:

Controlling the menu is simple: swipe to go back and forth, tap to enter, long tap to return to the main menu. The watch will not launch some functions until the BTNotification program is downloaded (I haven’t tried it with other programs, this one is enough). The watch offers you to scan a QR code directly from the screen. It is also available via ftp, specified in the instructions with login and password. On the phone itself we indicate which programs should make themselves known to the clock, and which should be blocked. The more notifications we set, the faster the watch and phone run out.

Menu:

I’ll tell you about the menu and each of its items in order.

Calls: You can make both to phone contacts and to those saved in the watch (either enter it yourself or copy it from the phone book). When making a call, you can choose whether we will call from our SIM card or from the phone’s SIM card via Bluetooth. The contact size is 11 characters, the screen size does not allow for more. The call log is displayed in full. On the phone itself you can choose where the call will be made from. Personally, in noisy places, I most often determine the name of the caller by the clock and either immediately hang up or answer by phone.
SMS: You can receive, read, respond. Understands all languages, but unfortunately my firmware version did not have Russian. All this will be corrected for sure, but for now I am writing answers only in Latin.

Player: If headphones are connected to the phone, then the sound comes through them and the watch will act as a remote control (very convenient when the phone is in a backpack, for example). If the headphones are not connected, then when you start the player, the sound will come through the watch speaker (this was already useful once, when while fishing, the phone was lying in the tent, and I was quietly listening to my favorite music with a fishing rod).
Radio: A similar system as with the player. To start the radio on the watch yourself, you need to connect headphones. You can save stations, there is an auto search.
Camera: Here it is VGA and most likely made as a last resort. When your phone is at home, your SIM card is in your watch and you urgently need to take a photo - let it be, it doesn’t ask for food). Here you can watch the captured footage, send it to your phone or then download it via a PC. Your memory here is 1.21 MB

Alarm: It is possible to set up several alarms at once (maximum 5). In each menu we can select the alarm time, repeat mode (once, every day and with a choice of day of the week), melody (12 options + melody from your own file) and ring type (sound only, vibration only and both)
Stopwatch: Standard with the ability to record intermediate results and view them in the future. There is a memory function.
Bluetooth: Here we turn it on/off, find devices, connect and disconnect. Action radius 10 meters
Settings: Changing profiles, setting clocks, security, communications

Notifications: All notifications are configured through the phone application. We ourselves set which programs will send information to the watch screen and which will not. When information is received by the watch, it beeps and vibrates (depending on the selected profile). I really liked that the watch plays the same alarm-reminder melody at the same time. You won't miss anything for sure.
Anti-Lost: This feature is useful for those who like to forget their phone at home or at work. As soon as the watch loses connection with the phone, a nasty siren with vibration turns on and until you turn it off yourself, there will be no peace)
Pedometer: Counts steps, distance traveled in meters and calories lost. It counts more or less accurately if you press your hand to your belt (where the pedometer belongs). When walking freely with a free hand, it does not read readings. When running, your arms are usually bent and pressed to your chest - in this case everything is fine.
Remote capture: A separate item can be used to connect to the smartphone’s camera, but this can only be done if the phone’s camera is turned on in advance. The clock cannot start it on its own.
Personal Information: Asks for gender, height, weight and date of birth. It’s not clear why the watch needs this information? Will they wish me a happy birthday?

Find Phone: The watch makes you turn on the siren and flash a multi-colored screen, notifying your location. I like to lose my phone around the apartment, so this function came in handy a couple of times.
SleepMonitor: Tracking sleep phases and schedules

Conclusion:

I won’t say that calling for hours is incredibly convenient. But over these couple of weeks I’ve gotten so used to them that now, out of habit, I start looking at my regular watch when the phone rings in my pocket. I can recommend the watch to those who live an active life and it is not possible to keep a phone (especially with its size) at hand at all times, but communication is necessary. The watch has performed well, but it also has its drawbacks. From the very beginning I couldn’t understand whether they would be useful to me, but now I understand that they are much more convenient than using a Bluetooth headset. I think in a year I’ll be looking at Android models.
