Wireless headset for xiaomi phone. Review of Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Foldable wireless headphones. The best hybrid headphones from Xiaomi

Let's start the review by saying that we want to tell you about the next wireless headphones. But these are not just headphones, they are Xiaomi creations. And as we know, Xiaomi manages to produce inexpensive and pleasant things. Will Xiaomi AirDots prove this rule? Let's unpack the box and listen to how they play music.

The headphones were shown almost at the very end of 2018. And it’s even strange that Xiaomi waited so long to respond to the most hyped headphones recent years. I'm talking about Apple AirPods, if anyone hasn't figured it out yet.

Equipment

The headphones are packaged in plain white cardboard box, where, in addition to the AirDots themselves, you will also find a charging case, a micro-USB cable and replaceable headphone tips. The set is extremely simple, separate charger no, just a short cord, but that's no longer great problem, as I think.

What’s much sadder is that Xiaomi chose a hopelessly outdated standard. For example, Meizu POP is equipped with a more practical USB Type-C. I have no doubt that Xiaomi fans will go berserk at these words and say that I got to the bottom of empty space: The connector format does not affect the sound and comfort of the headphones. I won’t argue, it’s just strange, especially since many new Xiaomi smartphones this year received Type-C. And in general, if you look at the market, Type-C is finally becoming a standard.

I'll put it on and listen

The headphones are quite large, not small, but not very healthy either. In size they are comparable to the same Meizu POP, but I liked the Meizu headphones better in shape. They are somehow more elegant, perhaps, more interesting looking. The design of Xiaomi AirDots did not evoke any emotions for me, they are ordinary headphones, but some people did not like them at all, especially girls. First of all, the sizes are confusing - they are noticeable in the ear and look so-so. But this is completely subjective, I think. When you listen to music, the design of the headphones is the tenth thing, much more important is how they sit in the ear and how they feel.

Xiaomi AirDots are good with all this: they are light, almost weightless, fit tightly and do not fall out when you actively twist and turn your head or just run along the path.

Control

The controls are simple: you can pause it either by touching the headphone body, or switch tracks and change the volume on the screen of your phone, or whatever you connected the AirDots to.

The gestures are simple: one touch pauses, two touches go to a new track, three touches go back a step. Also in standby mode, double tapping launches the voice assistant, and you can also answer calls by touching the headphones. Or cancel an incoming call with two taps. However, you won’t be able to change the volume if you don’t have a phone in your hands. It’s the same with switching tracks, it’s inconvenient.

Music

AirDots can’t pause music when you take the earphone out of your ear; these aren’t AirPods. Therefore, you have to touch the earphone with your finger to pause playback. Alternatively, you can control it from your phone, because pointing your finger into the earphone is not always convenient. For example, when you just want to adjust the earphone, you can accidentally touch the case and pause the song.

I didn’t particularly like the sound, because I’m used to my Sony SBH90C, which play much more interestingly. But they also cost significantly more, about three to four times.

Therefore, if you come down to earth and imagine yourself as an AirDots buyer, it’s difficult to find fault with the sound quality. Really, it's completely inexpensive headphones, and it’s difficult to find something with cooler audio for that kind of money. I would even say it is impossible. But if you know specific examples, share your knowledge, let’s get these headphones and tell you about them.

Xiaomi AirDots large stock in terms of volume, they play neutrally: if the composition has a lot of bass, you will feel it. And if it’s not there, then you’ll have to add lows with an equalizer. The headphones are loud, they play “hoarsely”, I want to make the sound clearer, but here it is “muffled”. In general, it’s difficult to criticize headphones for this kind of money. If they cost 100–150 dollars, one could find fault with the sound, but these are very cheap and sound normal.

Connection

To connect headphones you need to do the following. You put the headphones in the case, then take them out of it, start searching for a new Bluetooth device on your phone, find AirDots and connect. In principle, the procedure is not much different from the process of searching for any other headphones. But these are not AirPods, which connect easier and faster, as if with a wave magic wand. Here the headphones are connected to each other, you get such a pair, and then it establishes a connection with the phone. But AirPods work differently: each earphone communicates independently.

AirDots keep a good connection, although there are periodic glitches: when you listen to music, switch to the next track, and the headphones start stuttering out of the blue. Then you can simply switch to the next song.

If you watch videos on YouTube, there is also desynchronization of sound, a periodic phenomenon for Bluetooth headphones. How to overcome it? You can try resetting the headphones, but this does not always help, so it’s easier to get used to it and not pay attention to it.

Working hours

The charging case is small in size and surprisingly lightweight. If together with AirPods we get a small but weighty object, and this automatically gives the feeling of a solid, high-quality thing, then with Xiaomi the situation is different. It's simple and inexpensive plastic, the lid opens and closes without a pleasant click, and there's minimal attention to detail. Moreover, in the case of the already mentioned Meizu POP, the situation is different, because the headphones of the main competitor come with a better-quality case.

The case has a built-in battery with a capacity of 350 mAh - this is enough for three full recharges of the headphones with a reserve. Each earphone contains a tiny 40 mAh battery. AirDots work for about 3–3.5 hours if you listen to music at 70% of maximum volume. I won’t say that it’s a lot, by the standards of wireless headphones of this format this is the usual result, but 5 or 6 hours of work is already the ceiling for small devices.

Charging the case takes almost two hours, surprisingly long for a battery with such a small capacity. The headphones themselves charge in about 40 minutes, fast enough to keep you connected to music throughout the day.

How much do Xiaomi AirDots cost?

The headphones themselves are quite cheap - at the time of the announcement, the price of Xiaomi AirDots was $30. At the same time, it is extremely difficult to buy them for this money now, at the end of 2018.

In Moscow, headphones are resold for 4.5–5 thousand rubles, the little thing is in high demand and, as usual, sells out with a bang.

And what else?

There are a lot of wireless headphones on sale, but there are very few inexpensive wireless ones, the choice is very meager. This is why Xiaomi AirDots are flying apart. Elari NanoPods, Meizu POP - these are a couple of the main competitors. If we go further, Samsung Gear IconX is already looming on the horizon, but this is a completely different price order.

Headphones will be very, very popular. Everyone already knows about Xiaomi, the brand is not surprising, on the contrary, people are specifically looking for accessories and products from Xiaomi. Another thing is that talking about some kind of confrontation with Apple and calling AirDots “killers” of AirPods is a stupid thing to do. You can catch the hype, but if Apple offers a high-tech headset with bells and whistles, then Xiaomi offers just inexpensive wireless headphones. And this, you know, is also good.

Xiaomi Mi Sport Bluetooth are headphones Chinese brand, designed for athletes and lovers of running or working out in the gym. They have a high-capacity battery, a waterproof case and comfortable ear horns for long-term use that cling to the ear. With headphones from Xiaomi, you can enjoy music wherever and whenever you want.

Thoughtful details of Mi Sport BT

The headphones were created in the same style as the Mi Band, so they received a design similar to a fitness tracker. Just try them and you will understand that the company has taken into account all the nuances:

  • The headphone body is protected from any moisture, including sweat;
  • Headphones work without charging up to 7.5 hours;
  • control is carried out through 2 buttons on one of the headphones and a panel with a microphone on a rubber wire.

The hook-shaped design of its headphones, which are attached to the ear and are securely held even during jumps or flips, allows you to do whatever you want with your music. The suspension is covered with rubber, so it is flexible, easily adapts to the curves of your ear without putting much pressure on it, and securely fits the headphones themselves.

Sound quality from Xiaomi

The headset works using the Bluetooth 4.1 protocol, but if your smartphone does not support it, you can even connect via Bluetooth 3. latest version wireless protocol supports noise and transmits HD audio - this is great news for music lovers. The quality of the music played here is no worse than in wired headsets from Xiaomi. You can connect the headset to 2 phones at once, if necessary.

The microphone, which is made using MEMS technology (as in the latest smartphones), deserves special attention. It allows you to achieve high-quality sound transmission in any conditions. Thanks to this, your interlocutor will hear a minimum of noise even in the gym, and speech will be transmitted perfectly clear.

You can buy Xiaomi Mi Sport Bluetooth headphones in the Kit-Gadgets store. We only have original headsets at the lowest prices in Moscow.

If you take Xiaomi Mi Comfort headphones, cut off their wire and insert a Bluetooth module, you will get a new product for called Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Foldable. That's exactly what Xiaomi engineers did. Well, there actually was more to do. Seal the hole from the cord, cut out new holes for the buttons. Cut out the battery. But these are all minor things. The main thing is that Xiaomi fans are happy.
I consider myself a semi-Xiaomist. I like the products of this brand, but my inner little Jew sometimes does not allow me to buy everything with the MI nameplate. Although sometimes he falls asleep and I place orders. First it was the Xiaomi Wired / Wireless Gaming Mouse, and now here are the Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Foldable headphones, which I will talk about later.
I'll start with technical characteristics:

  • Model: TDLYEJ01JY
  • Impedance: 32 Ohm
  • Charging port: Micro-USB
  • Charging time: 2.5 hours
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • Bluetooth profiles: HFP/HSP/A2DP/AVRCP
  • 40mm drivers
  • Frequency response: 20Hz-40kHz
  • Signal range: 10 m
  • Standby time: 200 hours
  • Playing time: 10 hours
  • Dimensions: 199 * 82 * 255 mm
  • Weight: 235 g

Now about the headphones themselves:
The headphones arrive to the buyer in a large box.

There is nothing inside besides headphones. Even an unfortunate USB lanyard or case.

Therefore, I immediately show the headphones:

The overall workmanship is very pleasing. Everything looks good and solid.
Housing material: plastic. Matte plastic, which in photographs looks like it is covered with a thick layer of dust. But it doesn't look like that in real life. True, this plastic collects fingerprints very well. And on dark plastic you can see them very well.
The ergonomics of the headphones are comfortable. On the left earphone at the bottom there are two keys responsible for volume and switching tracks. On the right earphone there is also a microphone and a MicroUSB port at the bottom:

But the power button (also known as the call acceptance button, also known as pause/play in the player) is located under the side cover. To let the buyer know about this, there is a sticker with the information:

Well, at least I think that the information on the sticker is about the button. I don't understand hieroglyphs. Although if there is any text in English:

There are retractable slides for adjustment to different head sizes. Luckily they are metal:

The headband is also made of matte plastic. On the inside there is a cushion insert made of a soft, silicone-like material. There is an “MI” logo on the top of the headband, and this is exactly what the manufacturer adds +20-30% to the cost of the product. Analog of core in apple products:

The ear pads are soft and comfortable. Made from wild dermantine leather. The right and left earbuds are marked with the letters L and R:

If necessary, the headphones can be folded.

But where to put them is unclear. The manufacturer did not provide any cover. This, in my opinion, is very strange, considering the price of these headphones.
As I wrote above, I have no complaints about the build quality, materials and general appearance. Everything was done very well and soundly.
You can find out what is inside the headphones from this picture:

Bluetooth V4.1 CSR 8645 chip and 40mm 32ohm dynamic drivers.
I don’t plan to personally check the filling yet.
My main audio source for headphones is my home laptop and my Xiaomi MI A1 phone:

Connecting to headphones does not cause any problems. After connecting, you can see that the sound is using a higher quality AAC codec:

There you can also see a display of the headphone battery level. Convenient for monitoring the charge of headphones.
Speaking of charge. On average, headphones last up to 12 hours at 70-80% of maximum volume. At maximum volume up to 9 hours, and if you listen at half volume, they will last even longer. I left the headphones for 15 hours of playing music at half volume, and when I came back, the headphones still had 16% charge left. That is, I think that they will calmly hold out for 18-20 hours. I think this is more than enough. Charging time averages 2.5-3 hours. Depends on the charger itself. I mainly use a 5-port charger from Xiaomi for charging. Therefore, the headphones charge relatively quickly.
Well, a little about the sound of the headphones. I don’t know how to talk about all sorts of sibilants and dark shades with a taste of vanilla violins. I'll say it simply. I like the headphones. They have an even sound without distortion in any direction. Very good detail. There is bass, and there is enough of it. Of course they are not the fattest, but it’s nice to listen to. High frequencies also do not stick out, the music does not try to eat away your brains and dry out your ears. Everything is balanced. Lately I’ve been listening mainly to modern Russian pop music, a little repertoire of compositions from the Nashe Radio radio station, and a little more techno vocals. All of the above sounds very good in these headphones. The main sound source, as I said, is my Xiaomi Mi A1 phone with the native Google Music player:

I am completely satisfied with the sound and functionality.
Conclusions:
I can recommend headphones for purchase. Despite the fact that at this price they have many competitors, it is still Xiaomi. A fan item that's pretty well made. Many people will like the sound, it is quite high quality. Materials and workmanship are top notch. The only thing I would classify as a minus is the meager equipment and the MicroUSB port. In 2018, this is no longer the case. The rest is simple excellent headphones. In addition, now you can use a coupon GBCEXMD reduce the price to $54.99. A small thing, but nice.

Good day, friends. Today I bring to your attention the 3 best wireless headphones from Xiaomi.

The device can work even in extreme conditions at a temperature range from -20 to -70 degrees.

Xiaomi Mi Sport Bluetooth Mini Headphones

Xiaomi Mi Sport Bluetooth Mini Headphones sports mini Bluetooth headset with earbuds. As in the first version, IPX4 water protection is declared, which is supposed to be useful for athletes and active people. Well, of course, this does not mean swimming in the pool or washing in the shower - rather, just protection from sweat and splashes. In principle this should be enough.

In respect of wireless communication- there is a fairly good CSR8645 chip with Bluetooth 4.1, but there is no APT-X support in the ears.

In terms of design, these crutches date back to the first Mi bands - a metal oval capsule. Or rather, painted to look like metal.
The design is a C grade, but there are ear hooks, and the headset turned out to be moderately comfortable. However, the Mini version inherited the design previous version, so don't expect big changes. Especially if you understand that you need it for an hour or two a day of active movement (starting from jogging in the morning/evening, ending with the daily run to work/school/college).

Xiaomi Millet Sports Bluetooth Headphones

The headphones have a stereo function, which gives the sound depth and richness. There will be no more problems with untangling the cable, since the headphones are wireless. Good luck to everyone and bye!

A distinctive feature of Xiaomi headphones has always been the best price-quality ratio. And in the case of headsets from a Chinese company, this principle is still taken into account.

The Xiaomi line of headphones includes a dozen models that differ not only in price tag, but also in form factor. Most models are represented by in-ear headphones, and the only “black sheep” among the abundance of “plugs” are the Mi Bluetooth Headset and full-size Mi Headphones in two variations.

The best hybrid headphones from Xiaomi

Xiaomi Hybrid Dual Drivers Earphones (Piston 4)

Some of the top in-ear headphones Piston series. Hybrid “plugs” are a special type of headphones in which an armature driver is responsible for high frequencies, and a dynamic driver is responsible for bass. Thus, with small size The headphones manage to produce sound comparable in quality to on-ear models.

  • good and high quality sound thanks to two types of emitters;
  • metal case;
  • well-developed ergonomics;
  • convenient control panel and fabric braided cable.

Flaws:

  • straight 3.5 mm jack;
  • a symmetrical wire is inconvenient for most users;
  • with iOS devices, the functionality of the control panel tends to zero;
  • overpriced compared to other Xiaomi models.

  • two types of emitters produce high-quality sound;
  • metal case and durable cable;
  • control panel with large buttons.

A kind of experiment by Xiaomi to find ergonomic solutions. Unlike classic earplugs, the Capsule model's headphones are inserted sideways, so they don't fall out when jogging or playing sports. Moreover, the Chinese themselves position the “capsule” as headphones for bass fans, but the quality of the output sound still leaves much to be desired.

  • well-developed bass with surround sound;
  • interesting design;
  • control panel with three buttons and microphone.

Flaws:

  • lack of removable ear pads;
  • uncomfortable fit with mediocre sound insulation;
