DIY balcony on the top floor. Construction, calculation and installation of a balcony with your own hands. Corner wardrobe on the loggia: photo report

A balcony is a very comfortable place for storage and relaxation. This extra bed for work, plants, gym. If a balcony is not provided, and you live on the first two floors, then you can create one.
But perhaps the most difficult part is preparing the documents.

If you don’t do this, your building may be completely demolished or fined. After all, building without permission is illegal.
Be sure to provide the following documents:

  • apartment layout
  • ownership
  • permission from housing and communal services
  • consent from residents of nearby apartments
  • future extension project
  • permission from utilities and architects

The easiest way is to contact notaries, they will quickly collect everything Required documents without forgetting the little things.

An extension will not only make life easier, but also increase the value of the apartment for sale. After all, many people first of all pay attention to the presence of a balcony.

How to create a project

Without a project, you will not succeed in any construction. First of all, draw a sketch of the future extension. You can already calculate materials using it. It is important to fit the design so as not to disfigure appearance buildings and take into account all needs. It is better if you contact an architect or builder, since mistakes in this matter can be quite expensive, both in terms of materials and time. But now there are excellent programs that give an idea of the construction in full. What is important is the appearance, the strength of the selected materials, and well-chosen dimensions.

Balcony options

Methods for attaching a balcony:

  • Most suitable option for multi-storey buildings it is a cantilevered slab.
  • In cottages, cantilever beams are most often purchased.
  • Brackets are good for high loads.
  • Attached balconies are typical for ground floors, when the structure is simply attached to the house.

If you decide to build a balcony yourself, it is best to use extensions or brackets.

Creation of the design:

  • making a frame (you need to make a base from metal corners in the shape of isosceles triangle; this structure is attached to the wall with anchor bolts; a metal frame is welded onto the triangles)
  • the parapet is strengthened
  • the window is dismantled, a doorway is formed
  • placed on the floor a metal sheet to protect against fire and burglary
  • carry out flooring and insulation
  • the balcony is often sheathed with sheets of corrugated sheets
  • the balcony is insulated and glazed

There are already ready-made and made balcony frames; they just need to be welded to the wall. Be sure to decorate your balcony with aesthetic decorative elements.

You can make a foundation under an attached balcony, this can really expand the area (the structure is safer than a suspended one).

First, the foundation itself is built. A pit is dug under it, into which blocks for the foundation will then be installed. The depth of the pit is best calculated by a professional; it is important to calculate the level of soil freezing. The depth of the foundation itself should not exceed this parameter. The height of the foundation and the future balcony must correspond to each other. From a decorative point of view, you need to combine the balcony and the building.

Then the brickwork is erected, which will be the main walls of the extension. Try to do this as close to the facade as possible. The extension must comply with waterproofing standards. It is better to carry out double waterproofing. It is important to protect the extension from groundwater and high levels of humidity. The roof usually matches the slab top floor, or becomes independent.
The entire structure must be insulated and glazed. It is very fashionable now to use panoramic glazing. Cold and warm glazing, for additional comfort, you can install radiators or electric heaters.
Don't forget to tidy up your balcony externally. Think over the design and additional elements.

Window-balcony

This is a new design trend, quite attractive and simple. This design has several provisions. For example, an ordinary-looking window can easily be converted into small balcony with handrails. Good for country house. Can be used as an emergency exit.

But, unfortunately, this Danish development has not yet caught on with us.

.

I’ve been thinking about adding a balcony on the second floor with my own hands for a long time, but I was confused by many questions: from how to formalize this legally, to how to choose the right design for the future space. And yet, the opportunity to purchase additional square meters, arrange a small room and a place for drying clothes - a winner!

So, here's a step-by-step guide for you!

Developing a plan

During the construction process, it is necessary to strictly follow the work plan, technical documentation, and nothing else, because any arbitrariness threatens you with serious consequences, at a minimum - the indignation of your neighbors, and at a maximum - you may lose your new building, and you will be brought to administrative responsibility. What should be included in the plan:

  • collect all the necessary documents for official registration;
  • consider your options existing structures balcony;
  • draw up a project for the premises;
  • calculate the estimate.

Let's start with the most time-consuming procedure. Only after assessing the scope of work on official registration, you can understand whether you have a chance to obtain permission for an extension.

How to obtain permission for an extension

As the experience of many apartment owners and builders shows, the most difficult thing is to obtain permission to extend the second floor. There are many reasons for this, but the main one is related to a possible threat to integrity multi-storey building and the load on the load-bearing wall. Let me note: this does not mean that it is impossible to obtain the necessary package of documents.

First of all, contact the planning inspectorate in your city, after a free consultation they will provide you with a list of documents that will be required to consider the case.

Let me note right away that there are a number of legislative points on which you will be immediately denied. What's included in this list:

  • the house is included in the list of architectural monuments;
  • the attached balcony will overlook the main street;
  • the design may compromise the integrity of the load-bearing wall of the house;
  • the extension is located closer than two and a half meters to underground utilities, or they run along the wall of the house (for example, gas pipes);
  • the technical design of the balcony does not meet construction standards.

Having made sure that the extension on the 2nd floor does not violate the listed points, you can safely collect the documents. What you will need:

  • permission from the organization on whose balance sheet your home is located;
  • residents' consent to in writing living on the left, right, above and below;
  • ordering a balcony or loggia project from an architectural bureau;
  • coordination finished project With supervisory authorities(gas service, Gorvodokanal, etc.), if there is a need to transfer communications, then it is necessary to prepare the relevant documents and officially pay for the work of employees from the public service.

After you have collected the entire list of documents, we head to the construction department and the district administration. What you must provide:

  • application on behalf of the apartment owner for redevelopment;
  • documents confirming ownership of the apartment;
  • certificate from the BTI;
  • finished balcony project;
  • documents for coordinating the project of the future balcony with public utilities;
  • written consent of the residents of the house;
  • photo of the house.

I repeat that this procedure cannot be avoided, and any illegal extension is subject to demolition! After submitting all the documents, we arm ourselves with patience and wait 45 working days, during which time your application should be examined and an official response given. Having received a development warrant, you can safely begin purchasing materials and inviting builders.

I note that after completion of the work, you must invite a commission that will draw up an acceptance certificate and confirm that everything has been done in accordance with the technical documentation. At the same time, this data must be recorded in the BTI and in the property right.

Design options and costing principles

Now you can safely begin construction. There are not so many options for proven balconies for the second floor; it all depends on your personal wishes and design features.

Not everyone decides to draw up a design for an outdoor space on their own, so if you have planned a small room and not a place for drying clothes, then it is better to turn to specialists. What they can offer you:

  • install a balcony on a platform fixed to a load-bearing wall;
  • erect the structure on supports (pillars);
  • carry out the installation of the extension in continuation beam structure interfloor ceilings;
  • double balcony, addition of a second floor or construction of a balcony room on the outbuilding.

What will builders pay attention to, and what will the project and construction estimate depend on? Firstly, this is the age and condition of the house. Secondly, thickness and integrity load-bearing walls and foundation. Armed project documentation home and technical passport, pay attention to what the wall is made of:

  • brickwork - if it is at least 50 cm, and is solid and intact, like the foundation, then on the 2nd floor you can build any of the above-described balcony structures;
  • timber - it is important that the size is at least 20x20 cm, there is no damage by insects, the interfloor ceilings and beams are in perfect condition, and the age of the house does not exceed 20 years and stands firmly on a solid foundation. Only if all of the above points are observed can you think about adding an extension to support pillars or in the form of an outbuilding;
  • aerated concrete and foam concrete blocks- it is reasonable to consider the option of an extension on supports or in the form of an outbuilding;
  • expanded clay concrete blocks or walls with a lightweight frame. An extension is possible only with the use of additional supports, pillars and a carefully thought-out load on them.

The functionality of the project is calculated taking into account where the window opening opens. This way, you can immediately calculate where you will have access from the apartment to the new premises. If the yard space allows it, and the residents of the house do not mind, you can consider adding a porch.

Another important factor is. At the construction stage, I strongly recommend that you think about insulation and ventilation, so as not to spend money twice on the work of builders.

Based on the information received, you can draw up an estimate and safely go to the construction site!

Tools, materials - let's start construction!

Is it possible to do without any involvement at all? construction companies and brigades? If you are one of those who trust only themselves and have construction knowledge, then it is quite possible to make the second floor yourself!

What tools will you need:

  • marking and measuring instruments: spirit level, tape measure, plumb line, markers;
  • power tools: screwdriver, drill and drill bits, Grinder and a set of circles;
  • auxiliary tools: hammer, pliers, hacksaw;
  • spanners;
  • welding inverter, brushes with metal bristles, protective mask for welding.

Depending on the chosen design, the list and quantity of materials will change - this is obvious, but I will still present an approximate list for your reference: lumber, support poles, cement, small crushed stone and construction sand, metal profiles and related materials, hardware and fasteners.

Installation of a balcony structure

For your consideration, I offer options for installing balcony structures for the second floor.

Balcony on brackets

The first installation option - a balcony on brackets - is ideal for small balconies.

  1. We prepare welded or wooden structure from brackets according to the dimensions specified in the project. As a result, be sure to check the dimensions and angles.
  2. We fasten the structure to the wall using anchor bolts or connecting threaded rods. We check the verticality of the installation using a spirit level and a plumb line.
  3. We strengthen the balcony slab or subfloor with brackets.

Advice: For the subfloor, boards 50 mm thick are suitable.

  1. We build fences, walls and install window frames.

Do you live on the 1st floor apartment building? Congratulations to you! After all, this floor has a number of advantages. You won’t drown the neighbors below with your own hands, they won’t complain about your noisy party. And for the future, to open a private business you have finished premises for an office. But there is another side to the coin.

Dale Carnegie said, “If you get a lemon, make lemonade.”

You can do the same. If the balconies of the upper floors are the same and of the same type, then residents of the first floor can create unique and unique loggias and balconies with their own hands. After all, this is not only an area fenced with railings where you can go out to get some air. This is perspective! Let's look at how to make a balcony with your own hands and use the extension as efficiently as possible.

A self-built balcony, the photo clearly demonstrates the good taste of the owner. Facing masonry The buildings are a real decoration.

How can you use the attached balcony?

  • combine the balcony and the room, thereby expanding the area of the apartment;
  • make an extension in the form of, although not large, but a room;
  • construct a summer veranda;
  • construction together with a cellar;
  • place cabinets on a makeshift balcony and free up space in the apartment.

Where are balconies built?

  1. On the first floor.
  2. On the second floor.
  3. On floors above the second.

Installing a balcony above the first floor is permissible only if there is a project for reconstruction or construction. The design of a balcony on the ground floor is also mandatory for at least two reasons: this is the only way to legitimize the square meters of the extension, and also to guarantee the safety of the balcony or loggia.

DIY balcony design.

  1. Construction on an independent foundation.
  2. Slab on cantilever beams.
  3. A slab cantilevered into a wall.
  4. Plate on brackets.
  5. Balcony supported by a wall and columns.
  6. Extended balcony.

Let's take a closer look at how to make a balcony with your own hands on a foundation.

When the design work is completed and permission has been received, the construction of a balcony on the first floor must begin with some technological research. If we are building a balcony with our own hands from scratch on a strip foundation, then we should clarify two aspects:

  1. Soil freezing depth.
  2. Ground water level.

The first aspect must be known to determine the depth of the foundation. Although the extension is a relatively light structure and is used for it strip foundations shallow, the base should be below the freezing level of the soil. Otherwise, when the soil freezes, it will move the foundation and the entire balcony, which will lead to cracks in the extension. Believe me, frost heaving of the soil has enormous power!

The second aspect comes from the first. Knowing the required depth for laying the foundation of the extension, we compare it with the groundwater level. If the foundation extends into a humid environment, it is necessary to make high-quality waterproofing.

The addition of a balcony on the first floor begins with the construction of the foundation. And the first thing we do is markup. For this we need:

  • pegs;
  • cord;
  • square;
  • nails;
  • boards;
  • dye.

Sequence of work on marking the foundation.

  1. We mark the location of the foundation using a square and a cord.
  2. We mark the axes of the extension foundations with pegs.
  3. We fix the boards in the alignment of the walls and pull the cord of the foundation dimensions.
  4. On the base of the house we mark with paint the axis and dimensions of the foundation of the extension.
  5. We remove the cord and begin excavation work.

The foundation of the balcony can be made monolithic, but this requires the construction of formwork. Or you can use standard foundation blocks minimum section. Their dimensions are 2400×600×300 mm. The blocks do not contain reinforcement and are easy to cut right size grinder with a diamond wheel.

Advice: measure the diagonals of the building's foundation rectangle along the axes. If the diagonals are equal, right angles are constructed accurately.

Another variant - suspended balcony on the first floor. Load-bearing structure brackets serve. Special attention attention should be paid to attaching the extension frame to the wall of the apartment building.

Important! hanging frame, hanging balconies Be sure to weld it into a solid structure and attach it to the house with metal anchors of at least 20 cm along the entire height. Secure the top of the frame with studs through the wall.

The advantage of this project is that it is cheaper than the option on a foundation and is suitable for construction on any floor. Disadvantage - there is no possibility to make a cellar under a balcony or loggia.

Canopy balcony on the first floor in the process of being manufactured. Further vertical racks They will connect it to the roof.

The addition of a balcony on the first floor is radically different from the one on the 2nd floor. IN previous version The building stands on a foundation. It is now a cantilevered extension that hangs in the space. Therefore, the reliability of the design and adherence to the technology of making a balcony with your own hands is, without exaggeration, of vital importance.

Installation of a balcony above the first floor

Material for making the extension:

  • channel No. 10 or No. 12;
  • fittings Ø 12mm;
  • knitting wire;
  • concrete (cement, crushed stone, coarse sand);
  • boards or plywood panels for formwork;
  • pipes or logs for supports;
  • brick for racks;
  • spatulas, trowels;
  • welding machine;
  • vibrator for concrete.

Extension of a balcony on load-bearing channels. The entire frame is tied into a single structure.

1. Load-bearing elements buildings - we insert channels into the wall with a pitch of no more than 2 m. The channels, at least two, must be positioned so that the walls are the side edges balcony slab.

Note: channel - metallic profile, representing the letter “P” in cross-section. Consists of a wall and two shelves directed in one direction. Must be installed with vertical arrangement walls. In this position, the channel has the greatest rigidity and load-bearing capacity.

2. We make a reinforcing mesh from reinforcement bars Ø 12 mm and a pitch of 100 mm. We fix the mesh rods with knitting wire. We lay the finished mesh on top of the channels.

3. The same mesh must be attached below. You can fix it with the same knitting wire to the top mesh and channels.

Note: fastening mesh reinforcement with wire is the most quality option. The use of welding is allowed, but only on the condition that there is no reduction in the cross-section of the reinforcement during the welding process.

4. Install the formwork for the bottom of the building slab using boards or plywood panels.

Important! The formwork should not directly touch the reinforcing mesh. Between them there should be protective layer concrete minimum 20 mm. Otherwise, due to the influence of moisture and air, corrosion will actively destroy the reinforcement.

5. We strengthen the formwork with racks made of pipes or wooden logs.

6. Pour concrete into the formwork. We lay concrete using a vibrator. Otherwise, air cavities may remain in the concrete, which will significantly weaken the slab. Tapping the formwork and tamping concrete manually does not give such a high-quality result as vibrolaying.

7. When the concrete hardens, we make permanent supports for the balcony from the ground or diagonal supports on the wall.

You can also build a balcony in place of the old one. The photo shows how you can increase the area by making a balcony with an extension.

This is how to properly build an extension with a gas pipe with your own hands.

How to legalize a balcony?

Making balconies with your own hands, regardless of the floor, is allowed only on the basis of the project. Therefore, we will consider the necessary steps that must be taken before starting construction.

First, to clarify the situation, contact the city architectural department. Perhaps your house is an architectural monument and the issue of approving the construction of a balcony will no longer be necessary. There are also restrictions that are individual for each city and they should be clarified.

Next, you need to submit an application to an organization that has a license for the appropriate type. design work with an application for designing a balcony. As a result of visiting these two authorities, you will have a list of documents that should be prepared before construction begins.

We invite you to watch how to build a balcony with your own hands, the video shows many important points. You can start making an extension only by following the advice of the specialists shown in the video.

The most common way to increase the usable area of a city apartment is to remove the balcony. After all, additional warm room with excellent sound insulation and insulation will always be useful to residential property owners. In addition, you can make a balcony with your own hands and ultimately save time and significant financial resources to find workers and pay them. Typically, an increase in the volume of a balcony is made from the front part of the house by moving all external structures. Removal work also makes it possible to increase the reliability and durability of the balcony, improve the strength of all elements of the balcony slab and the enclosing parapet. The main thing before carrying out all civil works Prepare thoroughly for this important process.

Preparatory work

Before arranging a balcony, you should draw a drawing in advance future design, on the basis of which it will be possible to easily calculate required amount consumables, construction and decorative materials, draw up a work schedule and order translucent structures. Experts advise deciding in advance on the balcony glazing area and the set of double-glazed windows. The choice of window model directly depends on further conditions operation of the room, its location relative to the cardinal directions, area and heating capabilities. On preparatory stage The following tools and equipment should be prepared:

  • a welding machine, which, if necessary, can be rented for a couple of days or asked from friends;
  • hammer;
  • mount;
  • drill and set of drills;
  • grinder;
  • construction ruler and level.

For the manufacture of metal structure The balcony bases use profile pipes with a cross-section of 40x40 mm, steel corners and anchors 200x250 mm. To protect metal from negative impact environment it is primed and painted with facade paint.

Frame making

From profile pipe For the base of the frame, two blanks of the same length are measured. The distance between the window lintels is left taking into account the thickness of the double-glazed windows (at least 400 mm). Use a grinder to cut off the old metal profile, leaving load-bearing pillars. New pipes are placed at the fastening point and the connecting sections are fixed by welding. The remaining elements are installed similarly along the entire perimeter of the structure.

Note! When carrying out work, be sure to monitor with building level for the horizontal and vertical arrangement of all elements. If any deviations arise, they should be removed at the initial stage using a pry bar or blows with a hammer. After checking and adjusting the pre-welded structure, it is firmly secured by welding.

All welds must be performed in compliance with welding technology and safety regulations.

At the next stage, jumpers are prepared, which in width should match the dimensions of the profile. Having determined the installation locations of the jumpers on a real object, they begin to weld them on all sides, not forgetting to constantly check the level of the structure and the correct connection of the elements. The installation of the structure continues with the formation of the outer frame. The balcony structure adjacent to the wall is secured with special anchors. After the installation of metal structures is completed, they are thoroughly cleaned of rust and welding residues and primed special composition for outdoor work.

Facing

The finished metal frame is sheathed before installing double-glazed windows. Usually to perform facade works Today, consumers give preference to reliable and durable siding, corrugated sheets or other lightweight materials, the construction of which can include layers of insulation, hydro- and vapor barriers.

In order to sheathe the balcony frame, sheathing is made with a minimum pitch of 500 mm.

Note! All sheathing elements, which can be made from wooden beams or metal profiles, are tightly attached to the metal structure to increase the rigidity and strength of the structure.

The siding from the facade of the house is first attached to the finished base, then after installation insulating materials close the sheathing from the inside.

Before installing windows to make it easier installation work double-glazed windows are removed from the supporting profile. Window frames inserted into the prepared openings and secured with special screws and fastening plastics. Next, all window elements are adjusted, and installation of the ebb and window sill begins. Having inserted the double-glazed windows into place, everything assembly seams and the cracks are sealed with special foam.

On final stage They finish all the internal elements of the balcony, install a lighting system and organize heating of the room.

A closet on a loggia or balcony helps solve the problem of lack of space in the apartment for rarely used but much needed things. The right approach to the choice of shape and design will help preserve attractive appearance balcony and make the most of it usable area. The existing variety of materials allows you to create a cabinet that best suits the interior. You can make a balcony cabinet with your own hands quickly, efficiently and with minimal financial costs.

Balcony cabinet options

Before you start designing a cabinet, you should understand the variety of configurations and choose the most functional option for yourself.

Loggias and balconies have various dimensions, therefore all dimensions in the diagrams are approximate. In each individual case, the drawing should be compared with the actual dimensions.

Built-in and cabinet structures

A built-in wardrobe is the most convenient and economical option. It occupies every centimeter of the area intended for it, even the space under the windowsill. Lateral and back wall You don’t have to close it, which significantly saves material. The disadvantage of such a cabinet is the impossibility of moving it to another place. But usually there is no need for this. The built-in wardrobe is made from floor to ceiling so that it can accommodate as many shelves as possible for the necessary things.

You can install ready-made cabinet furniture on the balcony or use old furniture as a shelving unit. bookshelf With big amount shelves But the option is not ideal, since it is difficult to choose furniture of the required size.

Corner balcony furniture

Corner cabinets are quite large, but can accommodate significantly more things. The advantage of such designs is the ability not to sacrifice part window opening and maintain access of light to the room.

In this version, the wide part of the cabinet occupies the side wall of the loggia, and the narrow part is adjacent to façade wall. In such cabinets you can only install sliding doors, which makes it possible to save money usable space loggias.

There is another version of the corner cabinet - more massive and voluminous.

Everyone determines the number of shelves and their location based on their needs. The doors are hinged, but roller shutters can also be used.

Compact containers for storing small items

Tall cabinets are well suited for loggias with blank side walls, as they allow rational use of usable space. But such furniture is not suitable for balconies that have full glazing around the perimeter of the outer walls. In this case the best option there will be a low cabinet under the window, which can be placed under one or both end walls at once or along the entire length of the balcony under the window sill.

The choice of model depends on the size of the balcony and the purposes for which the cabinet will be used.

Non-standard ideas for arranging a balcony-boot

Many people are baffled by the boot-shaped balcony. There is a huge amount original ideas, how to turn a completely unnecessary, at first glance, “appendix” into a pantry or a full-fledged built-in closet with a lot of shelves.

To do this, it is enough to install the frame for the shelves, the shelves themselves and sew up the facade. You can use roller shutters or swing door made of material suitable for the interior. Instead of a double-glazed window, you can install a sandwich package (plastic-insulation-plastic).

Doors, frames, shelves - which options to choose?

Doors - possible designs:

  • sliding doors save loggia space, as they do not require free space to open. It is convenient, beautiful and practical. The only downside is that this design slightly reduces inner space cabinet;
  • hinged doors make it possible to see the entire contents of the cabinet at once, close tightly and are practical to use. The disadvantage is the need additional area in front of the cabinet for free opening;
  • accordion door if correct design solution can decorate the interior of the loggia. The advantage is saving space in front of the cabinet. The disadvantage of such a door is that it does not fit tightly and there is no full review, even with the door fully open;
  • roller shutters have recently been used in furniture industry, but have already managed to find many fans. The only drawback is high price. The advantages include easy installation, tightness, full opening, no need for additional space, immunity to sunlight and moisture.

The frame can be wooden or metal.

It must be remembered that if the balcony is unheated and has high humidity, wooden beam may soon become unusable.

To avoid this, you should choose timber with a large cross-section and regularly treat it with special impregnations.

The best option is to use a galvanized metal profile. Moisture and temperature changes are not scary for him, but any finishing material attaches to it quite easily.

To simplify the task, you can use metal guides with brackets on which the shelves are placed. The distance between the shelves can be easily changed using the holes in the guides.

The number and shape of shelves depend on the size of the cabinet. A built-in closet under the ceiling is usually made in two sections. One section contains a large number of shelves and is designed for small items or cans. The second consists of a compartment for large items and one upper shelf.

A corner cabinet can accommodate a large number of shelves at varying distances from each other. Cabinets under the window with standard arrangement shelves are mainly intended for cans or small items.

If you want to give the loggia a more aesthetic look, you can install a cabinet with corner shelves for flowers, decorative elements or books.

Material selection

When choosing material for the cabinet, you should consider climatic conditions, general design of the loggia, expected load on the shelves, financial possibilities.

Possible options:

  • tree - the most expensive material. Has excellent aesthetic and performance characteristics subject to temperature regime and rules of care. Not recommended for use on cold balconies with high humidity;
  • plastic is cheap and practical material. Not subject to temperature changes, moisture resistant and not picky in care. Disadvantages are color change when exposed to sun rays and instability to mechanical damage;
  • MDF (fine fraction) - environmentally friendly pure material, similar in properties to natural wood, but much cheaper. The panels are resistant to moisture and high temperatures;
  • Chipboard is pressed wood chips, but unlike MDF, harmful resins are used in production, which makes the board environmentally unsafe. Doesn't hold fastened parts well and can break. But the price is much lower than MDF boards;
  • Fiberboard (fibreboard) - not intended for facing works. In furniture production it is used to make the back part. The disadvantage is high hygroscopicity, which causes deformation.

Drawings and step-by-step instructions for making balcony cabinets

It’s possible to arrange a closet on the balcony home handyman who can hold the instrument correctly.

Before you start manufacturing, you need to decide on the location, type, size and material. The next step is to create a sketch or drawing with precisely defined dimensions of the cabinet, the number and location of shelves and door design.

When the configuration and material of the future product are selected, you can decide on the fittings and necessary tools.

Tool you may need:

  • electric saw;
  • electric drill;
  • hammer;
  • plane;
  • chisels;
  • hydraulic level;
  • screwdriver;
  • hammer;
  • roulette;
  • screwdriver;
  • square;
  • pliers;
  • construction knife;
  • sandpaper;
  • plumb line

There are three assembly options:

  • built-in wardrobe. Doesn't have internal walls. The structure for the shelves is assembled using wooden blocks or a metal profile. Only the front part of the cabinet and the door are manufactured;
  • portable cabinet. The basis is a frame, which is covered with plasterboard, clapboard, chipboard or plastic;
  • cabinet cabinet. The box is completely assembled from the selected material. Shelves and doors are attached directly to the assembled structure.

Let's consider all the options.

Scheme and procedure for manufacturing built-in balcony furniture

Such a cabinet is made from floor to ceiling and from wall to wall. Before starting installation, it is necessary to remove the skirting boards, if any.

The best option for making a frame is wooden blocks. They are easy to cut and quite simple to assemble. You can use a metal profile for drywall. This option is, of course, cheaper, but you can forget about the aesthetic appearance.

Before starting installation, you need to make markings. To do this, in place of the facade, you should attach a square at an angle of 90º to the side wall and draw a line on the ceiling. Next, using a level or plumb line, continue the line to the side walls and connect to the floor.

Then we attach the frame as follows:

  1. Apply the block to the surface.
  2. We mark the timber for fasteners in increments of 0.5 meters.
  3. We drill the block with a thin drill according to the marks so that marks remain in the surface of the wall or ceiling.
  4. We remove the block and use a hammer drill to make holes in the base for fasteners.
  5. Insert the dowels into the resulting holes.
  6. We screw the block with self-tapping screws to the surface.

This is how the entire frame is assembled. First you need to install the rear racks plumb. If they cannot be fixed to the walls, then using corners we attach them to the ceiling and floor.

The bars can be connected using shaped cutouts, but fastening with corners is the most convenient.

It is better to mark under the shelves using a hydraulic level. Of course, you can use a regular level, but it is more difficult to achieve horizontality with it. Assembling the base for the shelves is similar to assembling the main frame.

After the frame is completely assembled, you need to sew up the shelves. For this you can use chipboards or MDF, but shelves made of boards look more aesthetically pleasing. Simple planks of small thickness are suitable, which are screwed to the frame with self-tapping screws.

Using this cabinet design, it is necessary to think about the cladding of the front part. In our case, this is the door.

A classic and convenient option is swing doors. If the inside of the cabinet is made of wood, then it is better to cover the door with clapboard. It is necessary to perform work according to the following algorithm:

  1. Take dimensions and draw a sketch.
  2. Make a template for cutting the board.
  3. Cut the required number of boards of the same length.
  4. For each door, prepare three bars: two of the same length and one corresponding to the diagonal doorway. This is the frame future door shaped like the letter Z.
  5. Place the frame on flat surface, lay the clapboard on top. If all dimensions match, you can begin assembly.
  6. First you need to screw the outer boards.
  7. All subsequent planks must be tightly screwed to the horizontal and diagonal beam.

To make the door, you can use MDF boards, which will simplify the task. It is necessary to take accurate measurements and cut the slab to size. You can do this yourself, but it is better to order cutting from a special service with a lamination service for the ends.

The next stage is installing hinges and hanging the door.

To install the hinges correctly, you must first fix them on the doors, and then make markings on the racks.

Having made preliminary markings, you need to cut through the wood with a chisel. The depth of the cavity should be sufficient to recess the metal part of the hinge. Then you should remove the remaining chips with a chisel. Recesses that are too deep will make it difficult to open the door.

Then you need to place the loop in the resulting hole and secure it with self-tapping screws. It is more convenient to first assemble such a structure on the door, and then screw it onto the cabinet.

After assembly, it is necessary to eliminate distortions using special adjustable bolts. After completing the door installation, you should attach the handles.

To avoid wasting space under the windowsill, it is better to occupy it with additional capacity. It is easy to build from blocks on which shelves are placed. On the balconies long length you need to install intermediate bars. This is necessary to give stability to the shelves. Hinged or sliding doors are installed on the façade.
